CHAPTER V - UnderCover?

Lucy's POV=

Itachi followed me outside, I'm not sure why, but I suppose there'd be no harm in letting him come along. I opened the storage compartment on the back of the bike, stuffed my shades into my pocket, and placed my helmet on my head.

"What is that?" Itachi asked. I sighed, grabbing the spare helmet, and knelt in front of him.

"A way of transportation, it's fast." I explained shortly, buckling the strap under his chin. I picked him up and placed him on the jet black and crimson motorcycle. I hopped on behind him and stuck the keys in the ignition. Itachi flinched at the roar, but I told him it was normal.

"Hold on tight." I said, before taking off out the garage, down the driveway, and into the city. He pressed his back into my stomach and I pat his shoulder in reassurance. I zoomed down 31st Ave; past Cobalt Lane and Willow Drive; turned onto Phoenix Street and pulled into the parking lot of Oak Plaza. I parked near my tattoo artist's shop and put down the kick stand.

"Were here." I helped Itachi off the bike and helped take his helmet off - putting it in the storage compartment. I took my helmet off and tucked it under my arm, put my shades back on, and made sure my bike was secure.

I led Itachi through the parking lot and into "Velvet Moon Tattoo Parlour". The bell on the door rung as I opened it and Danny, the owner and my personal Artist, smiled at me.

"Ah~ Lucy-tan Lucy-tan! It's nice to see you again! And who is this?" Danny asked, a smile on his dark-skinned face.

"His name is Ian. I'm babysitting for one of Kat's friends because of a wedding." I lied easily as we entered. Itachi didn't say anything and followed along.

"Ah, that's why Kitty-kun isn't here with you! Well Ian, it's nice to meet you! I'm Danny!" Danny was quite cheerful. He had a couple facial piercings, his skin was dark and he had light blue eyes and scruffy dark brown hair. He wore a black muscle tee, grey cargo pants, and work boots.

"So, what did you want done today Luce?" Danny asked me.

"The kanji for beast. 獣. On my right shoulder blade." I replied, shrugging off my fur lined jacket and putting it on a nearby table, along with my tank top and my helmet on top, leaving me in my bra and pants.

"Color?"

"No thanks Danny." I lay on my stomach on the bench and closed my eyes.

"What about the kid?" Danny asked, filling the tattoo needle with black ink.

"He can take care if himself, right Ian?" I looked at Itachi out of the corner of my eye. Itachi nodded, picking up a non-adult magazine that lay on the table with my jacket.

In a mere half-hour, Danny had finished and Itachi and I were getting back on the bike. I ignored the sting in my shoulder from the contact with my clothes. Before I turned the key, I looked at Itachi.

"Sorry about the wait. Hope you don't mind." I said quietly.

"I didn't. The place was quite interesting and the book had some information in it." Itachi replied.

"Hn.(Just making sure.)" I grunted, turning the key and zooming out of the parking lot, down the street, and into Pyramid Castle Plaza. Once again, off with the helmets, through the parking lot, and into a shop. This was "Kaylee's Music 'N More" music shop. Once again, the bell rang when we entered.

Itachi's POV=

We entered what seemed to be a music shop. I looked around as Lucy led me to a glass counter containing things. For, what was probably a lot of money, was a bronze violin. Other expensive-looking items were displayed as well. None of them really interested me.

I remembered what I saw when Lucy had removed her shirt and coat. Other than the new one; she had a grey wolf tattoo on the inside of her left forearm, a silver and black half-moon tattoo on her lower back, and several other kanji on her back.

There was "sin", "wolf", and "shadow". "Sin" was on the back of her neck, "wolf" was below that, "shadow" right above "beast". They made a line on her back. Other than those tattoos, there were many scars, and even some fresh bruises.

The thoughts Where did she get those nasty scars? Why the tattoos? Does she have other tattoos? And Where did those bruises come from? Ran through my mind as Luce spoke with the lady at the counter. A few moments later, a part of their conversation brought me back to reality.

"If you play me a song, I'll do 25% off." The lady, "Kaylee" her name tag displayed, bargained with Lucy.

"Fine. What song?" Lucy asked. Kaylee grinned.

"Roundtable Rival. You know that one, right?" Lucy nodded in response, and was handed a wooden violin and it's bow from under the counter.

Lucy plucked the strings, probably to tune it, before she set a beat by tapping her foot.

(A/N): Play media, don't own. Wait for it to finish.

I stared, in a daze. The song was beautiful. It hypnotized me. Lucy handed the violin back and paid for a heavy, steel violin case that she slung easily over her back.

"Thanks for the business and the song!" Kaylee called, and Lucy just waved over her shoulder. My stomach growled, and Luce patted my shoulder.

"Let's stop somewhere and get some food, then head back home. Okay?" She suggested and I nodded.

We were back on the "motorcycle", zooming down the streets and passing what Lucy said were "cars". Eventually we pulled into a space right next to a red and yellow place that smelled like food.

We walked in and ordered, eating in there, then heading back to the house. Though when we got there, it wasn't like we left it.

Third Person's POV=

Itachi and Luce stood between the kitchen and the living room. Kakuzu was counting money in a corner, Hidan was tied to the ceiling fan on the highest setting, Kisame was hiding from Zetsu under the coffee table. Deidara chased Tobi around, while being scolded by Kat. Athena was holding a struggling Sasori in one hand, while Yahiko was in the other. These two seemed to be arguing. Nagato was calmly sitting with Konan and Elise, the latter of the three looking blood thirsty.

"What. The hell. Is this." Lucy asked, more like demanded, the people in the living room.

"Uh... Hidan did it?" Kat tried to escape. A scowl crawled onto Lucy's face, while the accused cussed out the whole room from the spinning fan. Then proceeded to vomit. Lucy dodged it by an inch, scowl turning to snarl.

Time Skippy

"So, sum it up for me?" Lucy asked, fingers twitching from the effort it took to not throw something through another window.

"Sasori and Yahiko started arguing over who knows what, Yahiko threw something and it hit Deidara - who thought Tobi did it. Tobi tripped and Hidan fell and somehow Athena tied him to the ceiling fan while keeping Sasori and Yahiko from killing each other. Kakuzu, Nagato, Konan and Elise did nothing. Zetsu wanted to eat someone and Kisame was closest." Kat explained, sweat dripping from her brow.

Luce thought a moment, observing the damage. One of the couches was flipped, the coffee table was shifted, the ceiling fan was tilted and squeaking, and there was a dent in the wall.

"I don't care, just clean it up. If something like this happens again, I'm scarring someone for life." Everyone shivered at the blunt truth in Lucy's voice.

Time Skippy

"So, what now?" Kat asked, draped over the L-shaped sofa.

"Bored~" Athena groaned, upside-down in the love seat.

Tobi and Elise were chatting about world domination-eh, uh... candy? Cookies? Yeah. Cookies. To~tally not talking about world domination. Hidan was snoring on the floor, and Kakuzu was still in his creepy corner, counting his money silently. Yahiko was catching up with Nagato and Konan, while Lucy was braiding Itachi's hair - which was to his mid back. Deidara and Kisame were discussing something, and Sasori had nodded off on the free sofa.

Then the lyrics to Sandman started blaring out of Elise's back pocket.

"Hush little baby, don't say a word. And never mind that noise you heard. It's just the beasts under your bed. In your closet, in your head. Exit: light Enter: night. Grain of sand Exit: light Enter: night. Take my hand. We're off to never never land." Elise put her cell to her ear and the lyrics ended.

"Yes?" Elise asked the caller, then became serious. "Oh, details? Hm. Okay. When? Ah, alright. Got it. See you then. Tigress out."

Elise turned to Lucy, who had already got up to get the "mail". She came back a moment later and handed the manilla envelope to Elise. Said girl read over the contest of the folder, before groaning.

"What is it?" Athena asked, sitting right side up.

"We've a job. And I need all hands on deck." Elise replied grimly.

"What rank?" Luce asked, shoulders tense.

"U-C, code 7.8. Like I said, all hands." Elise replied sternly, exiting the living room and going up stairs, the other three silently in tow.

"Leader, what's going on?" Kisame asked, everyone expectantly looking at Yahiko. The ginger tilted his head, and Nagato replied for him.

"I don't know." They went silent at Nagato's authority, not questioning who he was. So the "children" waited, and what came next was unexpected.
