Thank you for referring this subject to me for a psychological exam to determine his fitness to stand trial.

EARLY YEARS:

Hidan hails from Yusakagure. He describes the Village as a "shithole" and adamantly states that the Village is "better off destroyed".

He refuses to discuss his parents, stating only that he did "just fucking fine" without them leading writer to conclude that he had either been abandoned by his parents, family and/or clan. Whether he was abandoned by choice or by their deaths is uncertain as Hidan becomes extremely violent, angry and defiant at the idea of him being incapable of looking after himself.

He doesn't mention any siblings leading writer to conclude he was an only child which could explain his stunted emotional growth and his lack of empathy and caring for others.

He reports that he "found" Jashin at an "early age". The details of this event are unclear but Hidan relishes telling the story of how he became immortal. He seems to enjoy writer's display of emotions when telling his story and feeds off of the negative and sad emotions evoked.

Hidan brushes aside any concern for his wellbeing and ignores writer's attempts to connect with him on an emotional level. It is almost as if he's afraid to feel these emotions himself and uses defensive and deflective techniques to keep the conversation at a superficial level.

JOUNIN TRAINING:

There is no evidence that Hidan went through or successfully completed advanced training which leaves his rank at Academy level, Genin.

It is worth noting that he destroyed Yusagakure before he could advance his education and training so one will never truly know the full potential he could have reached.

PRE-AKATSUKI:

Hidan reports that he "fucking walked FOREVER!" in search of food, shelter and money, trying to cover his basic needs. He was young when he was forced out on his own and there is a question of sexual abuse during his time as a child beggar/mercenary. When writer mentioned this, Hidan became enraged and threw the table aside trying to get to and strangle writer but luckily his shackles were able to keep him away.

After a sedative injection was administered, Hidan became calm enough to continue with the interview.

He recounted how the Akatsuki approached him and attempted to recruit him. Kakuzu ultimately broke Hidan and forced him into the organization. Itachi Uchiha and Nagato's associate Konan helped him.

Interestingly Hidan doesn't hold any anger towards Kakuzu for "selling my ass into goddamn slavery!" and these two worked frighteningly well together and were assigned as each other's partners. From other interviews with other subjects, it is a well known fact that Kakuzu abused Hidan, psychologically and emotionally, during their time together. Sexual abuse cannot be confirmed but writer would not be surprised to learn of it.

Hidan's reliance on his faith to get him through difficult times manifested into religious obsession when he joined the organization. This suggests some trauma was experienced by him and his Jashinism was a means to self soothe, a behaviour not uncommon in abused individuals.

AKATSUKI:

Hidan did well in the organization. Him and Kakuzu were responsible for securing and disposing of bounty targets to fund the organization.

He fought often with his partner, often verbally, but there are some vague reports of physical and psychological torture. He displays a love-hate temperament when discussing Kakuzu, stating "the fucker would cut my head off, all my body parts off, but then he'd fucking...sew me back up! What kind of sick fuck would do that?!" and refused to lay all the blame on Kakuzu, again, modelling behaviour seen in those who have been abused.

When asked why he simply didn't leave, Hidan looked confused, as if the thought never occurred to him. For a temperamental and fiesty man, he shockingly displays slave-like and submissive tendencies towards his captors and possible abusers.

POST CAPTURE:

Since he has been incarcerated, Hidan has shown remarkable disdain for rules and authority which often leads him being placed in solitary confinement for insubordination. Solitary seems to wreak havoc on his mind and he often returns from confinement in the grips of hallucinations, delusions and psychoactive violence.

Staff have taken to sedating him regularly in an attempt to calm and subdue his naturally violent outbursts but even they admit it doesn't make much of an improvement. Hidan requires one-on-one psychological treatment to even return him to his baseline normal. Without aggressive psychological support he will descend into madness quickly and it may be too late to pull him back from the brink.

FITNESS:

Subject is fit to stand trial although the recommendation is that he be housed in a secure psychiatric facility for treatment and observation. A regular prison would not be able to meet and treat his unique mental health needs.

As this man doesn't fully grasp the concept of the death penalty, Criminal Code 625, Subsection 2K-84, Paragraph 7b rules "those who cannot comprehend the finality of death and their own life being ended must be sent for further psychiatric and intellectual observation to determine if the subject truly understands the full consequences of the legally prescribed punishment".
