The Formidable Trio: Kay

"Thank kami, I made it, " Kay sighs out in relief once she spots the village she's traveled tirelessly to get to

To avoid the prying eyes of the nosy villagers, Kay strolls through the back paths of the village to reach her destination. The view of the village changes drastically as she casually strides along the dirt filled roads. At first, the village went from carrying a light ambiance to a shady atmosphere. She passed by men conducting black market trades in an alley way, prostitutes working on their next customer and men beating the life out of one another.

By definition of normal, this atmosphere would easily be labeled as dysfunctional; not to Kay. She lived for moments like these, she at her most happiest a midst the chaos. The uncertainty of what lurks behind every corner is what got her going, it was an adrenaline rush that she desperately craved. It was similar to a junkie hastily looking for their next hit.

Reaching her destination, Kay scans the building. She currently stood in front of a run down bar that belonged to the owner she had business with. Looking around, the red head walks to the side of the bar to find an entrance. Spotting a window, Kay climbs through. The woman quietly walks down the stretched hallway to the room she's looking for. Aside from retrieving the scroll, Kay's mission was to pay a little visit to the bar owner and have a "talk" with the man. The bar owner borrowed money from the organization Kay works for and had promised to pay it back; the man has yet to make good on his word. Kay's leader ordered her to make an example out of the man to make certain others knew never to take their organization lightly.

Leaning in, Kay listens for any noise from the other side; hurried footsteps can be heard. Kicking the door open, Kay leans against the doorway in a nonchalant manner. The man stands frozen in place; both clueless and fearful of what to do next. Kay looks to the desk next to him; two bags sit on the desk. One bag is closed and the other  is open; revealing a bag full of money with the scroll sticking out.

"Hey Jin, long time no see." Kay greets, maliciousness dancing through her orbs

Jin clears his throat, "K-Kay. S-so great to see you again." The man nervously stutters

"Call me crazy but it looks like you're going somewhere; are you?" Leaning off the door frame, Kay takes languid steps toward Jin

Jin hurriedly looks between the bags and Kay. Shakes his head in disagreement, Jin puts distance between himself and the reckless red head.

"N-no! Not at all!" He answers, steadying his trembling voice

"Really? Because it looks like you are and without paying me first. You didn't forget did you," Kay smirks viciously as she cracks her knuckles

"I swear I didn't!" Jin's back hits the desk, Kay stands in front of the intimidated man

Placing her hands on her hips, Kay feigns a disappoint expression.

"Jin, you know how I feel about liars. I thought you were better than that." She scolds him, her voice growing colder by the minute

"I'm not lying-"

"Then where the fuck is my money?!" She snaps, silencing the male

With the tense silence hangs in the air, Jin felt as if his heart would stop at any moment. The icy expression Kay was giving him wasn't helping any. Kay breaks it with a melodic laugh that sends shivers up the man's spine.

"You know Jin, considering the fact that I had to come all the way down here; I'd say I'm entitled to some form of compensation; don't you think?" She questions him rhetorically

Before the man could get a word in edge wise; Kay's fist collides with his nose, breaking it easily. Grabbing him by the neck, Kay roughly slams Jin's head into the desk. The man drops to the floor, holding his gushing nose that painted the wooden floorboards a sicken red color. Kay sighs in exasperation; she circles the man that is helplessly trying to escape her wrath.

"It never had to come to this Jin; all you had to do was pay up. Why did you have to make this so difficult?" Kay's foot connects with Jin's ribcage repeatedly, forcing the man to regurgitate what looks like his lunch and blood mixed together.

Jin lays on the ground, floating between consciousness and a comatose state. Cracking her neck, Kay loosens her stiff joints in her hands.

"Don't pass out on me just yet Jin; I'm just getting started."

"I think he's had enough. Doing anymore would just be overkill," Someone speaks

Turning around, Kay spots a man in a cloak; its pattern was a red cloud printed all over the cloth. The man was tall with light blue skin and shark like features. Kay immediately recognizes him to be Kisame from the akatsuki.

"Kisame Hoshigaki, we finally meet; and I live to tell the tale." Kay leans her back against he desk, eyeing every move the shark man makes

Kisame looks at the man at her feet. He shamelessly studies Kay's profile and figure, liking what he sees. He

"We were bound to cross paths sooner or later. You and your group are becoming more and more appealing in the underworld nowadays; a fact that leaves a bitter taste in my leader's mouth."

Kay chortles as she pulls herself up to sit in the desk. Her amused eyes glide over Kisame's build.

"Your leader was so threatened by me that he sent you out to look for me? I'd be lying if I said wasn't flattered by this. Pein must be a man with an easily bruised ego." She infers, crossing one leg over the other

"What can I say? He's the kind of man that doesn't like to leave anything to chance." Kisame answers with a shrug of his broad shoulders

Samehada emits a low whine. The sword could smell Kay's chakra; it yearned to taste it. Kisame laughs, pulling out Samehada. Soothing the beast, said male runs his fingers along the base of the sword to calm it.

"Someone's impatient, but I suppose we have wasted enough time." He continues "It's a shame that I have to kill you. You look like you'd be a good time." He smirks, readying himself to strike

Kay discreetly measures the distance between the window and herself with her oculus. She devises an idea that will help her finish out her current short mission.

"If I were you, I'd be more concerned for my own wellbeing." She advises, a sly grin pulling at her lips

"Really? Why is that?"He inquires in curiosity and caution

"I'm not the one about to become a fish stick."

Quickly weaving hand signs for her justu, Kay puts a large fire wall up between herself and Kisame. Slinging the bag over her shoulder, Kay grabs Jin and jumps out of the window; landing on her feet. Tossing the man to the side, the red head high tails it away from the scene; not before admiring the flames the begin to peek through the window.

The fire swallows everything it comes in contact with; trapping Kisame in the spot where he stands. Retracting his sword, Kisame weaves hand signs of his own. Summoning his most powerful water style ability to barrel through the fire wall, creating an opening; only for a short time frame. The wall of flames formed together again. Kisame laughs to himself, impressed by Kay's quick thinking. He wasn't the slightest bit upset by the fact the woman out smarted him. If anything, he found it kind of hot; he liked a woman that pushed the limits and tested him.

The blue skinned male racked his mind for any other ideas that would work. Obito appears behind the unaware male; grabbing him and teleporting out of the place. Kisame's next view was the outside of the bar being engulfed by raging flames. Turning to Obito, who stood to the right of him, Kisame gives a nod of appreciation.

"Thanks, I owe you one." He grins

"I'll be sure to add that to the list of favors you already owe me." Obito replies, watching the building burn away to nothing " I knew sending one person to handle these women would be a mistake."

"Hey now, don't count us out just yet; I've still got time to catch her. Besides, we don't even know the others status of things." Kisame reasons

Kisame feels something grab at his ankle. Instinctively stepping back, Kisame looks down to see Jin.

"I'm not paying you to stand around and talk like school girls! Go after her before she gets away with my money and the forbidden scroll!" He snaps

"He's right. If we don't move now, she'll be long gone." Obito runs a hand through his dark locks

"She's gotta be heading for the border." Kisame surmises

"She's not too far; I can still sense her. Let's go." Opening a portal, Obito allows Kisame through to follow him.

Kay dashes through the woods, jumping from tree to tree. That mission was almost too easy. If she was being completely, she was hoping that she would see more action on Kisame's part. She hoped that he would've put up more of a struggle; seems like she got her hopes up for nothing. Or so she thought. Kay senses something that brings her out of her thoughts; a strong gust of wind directed right at her. She skillfully dodges the jutsu, landing in an opening in the forest not too far from the border. Kisame enters the opening in the forest; Obito stays hidden in the shadows watching everything unfold.

"You didn't think I'd let you go without a fight, did you?"

"Now that's more like it." Feeling excitement boil within, Kay turns to face Kisame

"Ready to fight in an instant? My kind of woman."

"I've always wondered what it would be like to face you in battle. I've got high expectations; you better not disappoint me shark boy."

"You want me to battle you without holding back? I don't think you can handle all of me red; I might break you in half." He teases

"Don't get cocky shark boy; I just might break you first." Kay playfully retorts

Kay waves a hand signs to unleash a fire jutsu in the shape of a dragon, sending it in Kisame's direction. Weaving signs of his own, Kisame uses one of his water jutsus to put it out. Smoke blocks Kisame's field of vision. Trying to adjust his eyes to the thick black smoke, the male almost misses Kay barreling through the fumes, sword drawn. Pulling Samehada back, Kisame's blade clashes with Kay's once more; both putting their weight into pushing the other off balance. Kay reigns victorious, forcing Kisame backwards. The fierce red head loses her balance, falling to the ground, losing her bag as well. Kisame attempts to plunge Samehada through Kay's body; she rolls out of the way, allowing only the sleeve of her shirt and arm to be penetrated. Samehada is thrown into a frenzy after tasing what little it was given of Kay. Getting to her feet, Kay Instinctively grabs at her injury. She looks to her right; it's as if something was calling out to her. Kisame grabs her attention.

"I've never seen Samehada so frantic. Just how good do you taste?" The shark man drags his lips along his bottom lip as he picks up the bag

"Too bad you'll never know." Kay giggles "I'd love to stay and play but I've gotta get going."

"Without the bag you went through all this trouble to take?" Kisame shows her the bag

"You can keep that one; I don't need it." She offers with a smug expression

Kisame wears a confused expression as he tries to makes sense of her puzzling statement. Obito, who still waits in the shadows, comes to a realization.

"It can't be," He snaps

Staring at Kay, Kisame begins to put it all together. Understanding, Kisame flashes a resigning smile. He couldn't believe he was fooled so easily by her. It was the oldest trick anyone could fall for; the-

"Shadow clone justsu. Well played Red, I'm impressed." Kisame responds with a hint of annoyance in his voice

"What can I say? i'm just that good," Kay replies in a prideful tone

"You tricked me."

"In this world, there's no such thing as playing fair; I would think you of all people would know this by now. Thanks for the assist." Kay's clone disappears, leaving a cloud of smoke in her place

Kisame turns the bag in his hand upside down to see a bunch of random things fall out. Amused, Kisame laughs at her Kay's cleverness. Obito approaches Kisame.

"What the hell are you laughing about?! Pein is going to be pissed when he finds out you failed your mission!"

"Eh, I'll worry about it when we see him." Kisame nonchalantly answers "We'll just hope that the others have better luck than I do."

Grinning triumphantly, Kay fastens her pace to make it to her next checkpoint. She had passed the border long ago. Her intention was never to face Kisame, she only needed to her clone to buy her enough time to get away. As she continues to push forward, Kay couldn't wait to meet up with Shinju and brag about how she out smarted the shark. She then wondered how things were going on her and Shay's end.
