~Ch 4~ "Its Betrayal, but its reality" Part 4

Five days later, a banquet to celebrate Princess Yona's sixteenth birthday was held in Hiryuu Castle.

~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~

Yona-hime has officially turned 16, she was also officially older then Daiki (But no way is he going to mention that).

Daiki was dressed a little more nicely, as he stood close to Yona as three ministers bowed and said "Princess, we wish you a happy birthday."

Yona smiled and nodded "Thank you."

Daiki was surprised that Yona was actually acting more like a polite princess, but then again, she would want everyone to know that she'd "matured", but that's impossible, right?

"Sixteen years old..." King II said, with Min-soo and Daiki behind him, "How my Yona has grown!" he cried (and literally cried). Daiki smiled (behind his mask). It was a joyous celebration after all, he had Yona's present, but didn't think it was time to give it to her yet, maybe when there aren't so many people around, after all, it is unheard of that a servant to give a present to his mistress.

Yona finished talking to the ministers and came up to King II, "Yona!" King II said, expecting a hug, joyous tears still in his eyes, "Father. . . My hair still won't lay flat! I wanted to wear it up today!"

Daiki's mood instantly dropped, "It's hopeless. . . All she thinks about is her hair. . ." said King II slumping, Daiki thinking how it is shocking that Yona is the red dragon.

Then Soo-won called her over, "Yona!" King II said calling to stop her, she turned to glance back at her father, but went towards Soo-won and they both went outside, King II sighed, "Would you like a drink, your majesty?" asked Min-soo trying to cheer him up, "Thank you Min-soo" said King II.

The other masked servant mentally sighed thinking that he might as well cheer the king up and do his duty, "Would you like me to accompany her from afar, your majesty?" Daiki asked, King II nodded gratefully. Daiki bowed before turning and walking outside in Soo-won and Yona's direction.

Using his powers to blend with the shadows, he arrived to find Yona holding a hair ornament, she told Soo-won that it won't suit her, because her hair is red and unruly, Soo-won looked surprised then smiled and gently lifted some hair as it started to flow out of his hands, "But I love your hair, Yona" Yona blushed.

"It's a beautiful red, like the sky at dawn" said Soo-won,

Daiki smiled behind his mask, 'Took the words right out of my mouth' he thought. Daiki also thought that when he saw Yona's hair. He unconsciously used his powers and heard Yona's thoughts, 'How simple am I? Just like that, I suddenly love my own hair.'

Daiki mentally face-palmed, 'Oh so now your crush says so you suddenly like your hair?'

Yona looked up blushing and smiling, when suddenly Hak appeared with his monotone bored looking face. Soo-won and Yona backed off in surpirse, "Hak!?"

Hak merely crossed his arms, "His Majesty is looking for you." Yona looked uneasy, then said with her stubborn will, "Is he? Tell him I'm resting in my room."

Yona left and Daiki inched closer, silently thanking Hak for ruining this sappy moment. "Well, I figured this is what was going on." "Eh?" said Soo-won, confused. Daiki inched closer.

"I'm sure you could persuade the king, Lord Soo-won." Soo-won raised his hand in protest, "Your misunderstanding Hak, And would you stop speaking so formally? Just call me Soo-won like you used to."

Hak smirked, "I am well aware of my place. More importantly, do you not sense something?" They looked around and Daiki was wondering if he was the "sense" Hak was talking about, "I can't place it clearly, but something feels off, like something has made its way into the castle..." '

I live here.' Daiki mentally said, wondering if he should come out. "Now that you mention it, Yona said something similar." Soo-won said with a serious and thoughtful look.

"What?!" Hak exclaimed, surprised. "It may be wise to keep an eye on those entering and leaving today." Soo-won continued.

"Understood. I'll increase security in the courtyard." He ran off just after saying, "Lord Soo-won, you stay with the princess." Soo-won said nothing, and walked away, Daiki came out of his spot which was really close to them. He looked at Soo-won with narrowed eyes.

And followed him.

~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~

Soo-won heard footsteps coming from behind him, 'Hak? No his footsteps are much harder, this sounds more light and gentle...' he thought as he turned around to see Daiki, looking at him, but then again he couldn't tell with the servants usual mask on.

Soo-won smiled, "Ah, Daiki-kun, do you need something?" Daiki shook his head, and just held out his arm, Soo-won looked to see a plate with a peeled mandarin on it. "Do you want one?" The masked servant asked in his gentle voice

Soo-won was surprised, but smiled and took one.

It was silence while we ate, Soo-won was curiously taking glances at Daiki who was eating his mandarin in an odd way, taking off his mask slightly to pop it in his mouth.

It had always made Soo-won curious on why Daiki wore a mask, his leading guess is that he is... ugly.

Why hide his face unless he doesn't want to show it? The only thing Soo-won thought that it would be misshapen. He felt sorry for him because of that.

"Do you love Yona?" Daiki asked bluntly still chewing on his mandarin.

Soo-won almost choked.

Despite Daiki's change from when he first met him, he still had a blunt attitude.

"..."

Soo-won didn't know how to answer, while small blush bloomed on his face. Daiki turned to look at his blushing companion, before jumping off the fence he was sitting on, "I don't really care about what you wish your relationship with the Princess to be, I'm just curious, but clearly you don't want to answer, lets talk again later." He waved without looking back as he went off.

Leaving the long-haired royalty very confused.

Later that night, while it was started the rain...

~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~

Daiki believed that the Black Dragon doesn't really need to sleep. Though, he had already stated that to himself dozens of times.

He was outside Yona's room looking up at the sky. Daiki had always loved the night, it was so dark with few beauties standing out, like the moon and the stars.

Unfortunately, he could only see rain. He put his hand out, and felt raindrops wet on his hand, Daiki closed his eyes. 'This rain. . .it feels. . .unnatural...'

Daiki snapped open his eyes. The dragons were a part of nature, the black dragon is also specifically close to nature, he liked to connect with the spirits around him, and he can clearly feel that this rain is saying something big is going to happen.

The masked servant then looked around, 'Now that I think about it, where are all the guards?' Daiki felt footsteps and hid in the shadows again. He started to feel his dragon blood starting to boil. Something is going to happen. And Daiki didn't know if he was going to like it.

He moved. He sped, and then suddenly stopped in the shadows, in front of some soldiers, 'What are they doing? There not at there usual posts...' Daiki thought as I heard them whisper about drugging the guests and ministers.

Daiki was taking this calmly, like this was an everyday thing, if he had to be honest this was actually slightly thrilling, but he shook his head, 'I suppose the black dragon has always been the rebel type.' He thought as he watched as they attacked Hak, while he had a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Something was definitely wrong, that's for sure, Daiki slipped away and wandered.

~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~

(Black dragons thoughts: I know this is wrong, but this is kind of thrilling.

Shin-chan: Your way to calm about this!!

Black dragons reply to Shin-chan: I only really care about Yona and the Kingdom of Kouka, so will you just be quiet and write, Author?)

~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~

Daiki stopped to see Yona arriving in front of King II's room, she seemed to have sensed that something was wrong as well and entered with shaky hands.

Daiki sighed, 'Oh man, this is going to be one long night. I can just feel it...'

Daiki slipped in the shadows once again, he went deep in to room, and turned around to see a sight.

King II. Lying dead, blood pouring out of his deep wound, Yona collapsed next to him, and Soo-won in front of her, with a sword covered in blood.

Daiku had seen more corpses then most humans. Most bloodied then the next. So a simple stab wound didn't effect him as much as he thought it would. Especially since it happened to the king.

Well, as cruel as it sounds, Daiki predicted that Yona's father was probably going to die from murder.

After all, in the legends, King Hiryuu was fated to rule the throne, female or male.

And, again, as cruel as it sounds, he was kind of more surprised that King II lasted this long. He kind of expected him to be executed earlier.

Daiki sighed again, realizing what he just thought, 'I really am a sick person. . .not that I really care anyway.' He ooked at Soo-won, who had some blood splattered on his face,

'Who are you?' Daiki mentally asked with curosity not resentment or anger.

Though he looks like Soo-won, smells like Soo-won, but this isn't Soo-won. 'Wait, erase that' Daiki thought as he smirked sadly with a slight hint of interest.

'This is Soo-won, or at least a part of who he is.'

'Now Yona, what are you going to do?' Daiki thought looking at the shock faced Yona.

"S-Soo-Won...Quickly, call a doctor!" Yona shouted through tears.

Daiki mentally snorted but then sighed sadly, 'Yona, face the truth.'

"King II will not wake again" said Soo-won stating the obvious, then he said bluntly with no hesitation, "I killed him."

Yona had that horror look on her face again, 'How bothersome... I wonder if their is a reason I'm not feeling any grief?' Daiki thought, then shrugged, 'They do say that destiny can be so cruel sometimes... '

"What are you talking about?" Yona asked, obviously refusing to believe the truth. "Y-You aren't someone who could do this..."

Daiki felt his blood boil, seems like the black dragon blood didn't like seeing the princess so distraught and close to danger, "You don't know how I have lived for this day." said Soo-won looking away slightly with his cold eyes.

'Lord Soo-won-sama.' Daiki thought, looking at him with serious eyes now. This was no longer a calm matter, and Daiki knew that it was time to get serious.
