New Scholarship, Old Friends
"So this is a date, right? I mean, we're hanging out, one on one. Come on! I win the fucking bet."
"What do you mean this is a date? We watched a shitty action move and ate Mexican fast food! I don't even like tacos!" I ran my hand through my hair. I had cut it to my shoulders and dyed it bright red, making me appear like the stereotypical art student that I was.
"I've been fucking telling everyone this is a date! I've been out so much I didn't have any other fucking excuse!"
"Ha! In your fucking dreams! Have fun explaining to your friends that you actually didn't have a date." Hidan grumbled at that, before he shifted his expression again and flashed me a winning smile.
"Whatever, Red. I'm going to win eventually. No one can fucking resist my charms."
"Good luck with that." I said with a sly wink, as I spun in my heels and flipped my hair over my shoulder. I smirked as I walked away, knowing full well Hidan was staring at my ass. I reached into my black purse and pulled out my phone to check the time. 6:45. I groaned, realizing that I wasn't entirely sure where to stay. I had had an apartment lined up for moving here for my scholarship, but when I got here I found out that it had termites and was being fumigated. I had tried to find a hotel, even just a two star motel, but they were all either full or a crime scene. Just then, my eyes fell upon a familiar head of brown hair across the parking lot.
Cupping my hands to my mouth, I took a deep breath and yelled; "Haley!" The girl's head whipped up, but she couldn't tell where my voice has come from. "Haley, you fucking nerd over here!" This time, her eyes met my green ones, but she tilted her head, clearly confused about my identity. I ran over to her, well as best as I could run in heels, until I was closer. "Haley, oh my god it's so good to see you! It's been forever."
"L-Lucy?" She asked, realization dawning in her eyes. I smiled and stuck out my tongue.
"Yep!"
"What did you do to your hair?" She asked, absolutely incredulous.
"Gee thanks." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I LOVE IT!" She squealed, and embraced me in a hug. "Oh my gosh, Lucy I missed you so much!" Suddenly her eyes widened. "Are you dating Hidan?!" I laughed and shook my head.
"He wishes. He's in a bet where he's trying to date me, but he keeps using cheesy pick up lines! We were apparently supposed to hang out in a group today, but he told everyone else to cancel so it would only be us." Haley nodded, but I could tell she wasn't paying attention. Turning around I followed her gaze to the library doors, spotting a cute redhead sporting the distant bad-boy attitude.
"Get in the car now. Please." Haley said frantically. I nodded, diving into the passenger seat of the car she had just unlocked. Once she had started driving, I turned to talk to her.
"So Hale-" I began, before she cut me off.
"Manga." She corrected me so distractedly, I could tell she hadn't meant to.
"Manga?" I asked. "Like the Japanese comics?" Realizing what she had said, her cheeks flamed, but she nodded.
"It's a nickname. Almost everyone calls me that now." I chuckled, but abided by her wishes.
"Alright then, Manga. I hate to impose, but I need a place to sleep tonight. My place is being fumigated. I can't believe I have to pay for this shitty ass apartment."
She instantly perked up. "Oh my gosh, yes! You can come sleep at my place! Just so you know, though I have roommates."
"Oh, that's fine. How many?"
"... Thirteen?"
"Oh shit, okay. Well it could be worse, right?"
"Hidan's one of them." I forced a smile.
"I'll be fine. Let's go!"

We arrived at the giant house, and I stared up in awe. "You live here?" I asked. Manga smiled and nodded. "Damn, I'd fucking love to live in a place like this!"
"Who's voice is that? They sound so familiar." I heard muffled speaking before a window on the second floor opened and I saw a mischievous looking blonde look down. "Lucy?" She asked, grinning from ear to ear.
"Sam!" I yelled up, mirroring her expression.
"It's been so long, my love!" She sighed dramatically. I reached my hands out up to her and began singing.
"AND I-EE-I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU-OO-OO!"
Sam winced and smiled. "Lucy, this is why you're an artist and not a singer!"
"Shut up you piece of hairy garba-" I yelled back before someone cut me off.
"Artist, yeah?" A flurry of blonde rushed down the stairs. "Is art eternal or a bang, yeah?"
"Art is eternal, numbskull." A monotone voice said, as I turned around I saw the bad-boy redhead had pulled up in a car just outside the house.
"NO, ART IS A BANG, YEAH!"
"Eternal."
"BANG!"
"Eternal."
"BANG!"
"Eterna-"
"SHUT UP!" I screamed. "Art is not eternal. Art is not instant. Art evolves over time, never being the same, yet never going away." Deidara went silent.
"That's dumb. Art is eternal."
"BANG!"
"EVOLVING!" I screeched at the top of my lungs.
This went on for about ten minutes before Sasori, being the mature one, ended it and turned to Manga, who was beside me the entire time and lowered his voice so only Manga and I could hear.
"Manga, can we go talk somewhere?"
"Err... Ah... No! Sorry, gotta have girl time with my gal. My uh, ol' gal pal!" She stammered before grabbing my hand and pulling me into the house, dragging me up the stairs and into her room.
"Was that fucking Lucy?" I heard Hidan yell from downstairs.
"Who the hell is Lucy?" A new male voice asked back.
"Oh Shiro, only the hottest fucking chick ever."
"That... That doesn't really clarify for me, Hidan."
"Shut the fuck up, Shiro."
"HEY! I'm making you dinner you lazy as-" Their argument quieted down once Manga closed the door to her room.
I smirked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Girl time? Ol' gal pal?!" She smiled sheepishly.
"I panicked?" There was a moderately violent knock on the door. Manga sighed. "Yes, Sam?"
"Why does she get girl time? You hate girl time!"
"Would you like to come in for girl time as well, Sam?" Manga asked patiently.
"Well, I mean if you're offering." Manga rolled her eyes as Sam opened the door and ran over and hugged me.
"Missed you, psycho!" She said into the crook of my neck.
"Missed you more, maniac!" I grinned.
After we had spent sufficient time helping Manga avoid Sasori, she turned to me.
"Lucy, time to meet our roommates."
