After School Comes Work

Hi, mangareader90 here! I actually do have a job, so yeah. I don't really have much to say in this disclaimer thing. I don't know if we did this before, but if we didn't: Masashi Kishimoto owns Naruto, not us. Enjoy the story :)

I drove straight home after Shiro handed me my keys back and I parked the car quickly not having time to see if I parked it correctly. I briskly walked to the front door, opening it and then stopping when I saw Hidan face down on the floor. I slowly walked over to his form.

"Hidan are you alive?" I asked. No response. I kicked him.

"Ow! What the f*** was that for?!" Hidan growled out.

Satisfied that he was alive, I left to go change into my work clothes. I had about less than an hour to leave, but I also had homework to do before I left. I quickly changed into my orange work shirt, put on my green apron, and left my black pants on. I then sat down at my desk and opened up my backpack, taking out my English homework. There was only five questions, but each one was going to require a lot of mental ability.

1.In The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Is Charlie a static character—one who stays basically the same—or a dynamic character—one who changes throughout the course of the novel?

I thought about it before answering.

This question is up for debate, to be honest. While most of the readers would agree that Charlie never changes throughout the story, thus being a static character, the other percentage of the readers would say that Charlie is continuously changing throughout the course of the book. Such as the instance with Patrick and Brad. Before, if he didn't know the person, Charlie most likely would have watched from the sidelines (as he's done on other occasions), or have gone to get a teacher. Instead, because he knew Patrick, Charlie decided to intervene and that was one of the biggest events of the story because it showed a little more character to Charlie. While the changing hints may be subtle at times, there have been instances that we can't just view as "Oh, Charlie would have done this before" because it's not true. So, Charlie, in my own thoughts, leans more towards that of a dynamic character.

I skimmed the other questions and quickly wrote them down before putting them back in my folder and checking my watch.4:27. That meant that I had to check to make sure I had everything, and then leave. I had two more classes of homework to do, but I would just have to do them after work. I quickly checked to make sure I had everything, which I did. The only two things I needed were my phone and my wallet because it had my license in it. I then made sure I was dressed correctly, and after being satisfied I left my room, turning off the light and shutting the door behind me.

"Going to work?" I heard someone ask. I turned round to see Konan smiling at me.

"Yeah, If we have any leftovers, do you want any?" I asked. She shook her head.

"No. I'll just go in there later today if you're working. I might go in with Pein," Konan smiled and I nodded.

"So, like a date?" I asked and she laughed.

"If only. Knowing our luck with going on dates, we'll probably have one of the other members tagging along," Konan smiled and it was my turn to laugh.

"Yeah, that's probably true. So how is Sam?" I asked and Konan frowned.

"She's resting, but she needs medical attention. You know, I'll probably just send people into get food now that I thin about it. I don't think all of us should be out tonight. Someone has to stay behind to look after Sam, someone has to stay behind to make sure the house doesn't burn down, someone has to stay behind to make sure nobody kills each other, etc," Konan explained.

"Oh. Well, that sounds good," I yawned. Great, I'm going into work tired. Oh well.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, but because Karin is a girl the boys can't do any physical harm to her. And since there are only three girls in the Akatsuki and one of them is injured..." Konan tried hinting and I shook my head.

"Sorry Konan, but I don't do violence unless for self-protection. Besides, that's not even a good way to get back at someone. I'm not saying you should do this, but physical wounds attract attention and lead to creating false stories on how it happened while psychological wounds aren't seen by others but drive the person who has them mad. That being said, I'm off," I waved by a I started walking out the doorway, running into Sasori and Deidara who had just gotten home.

"All I'm saying danna is that art was made to be fleeting, yeah! Fireworks are an example," Deidara kept talking and Sasori looked disinterested.

"I hate fireworks, brat," Sasori replied. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, I continued walking without stopping to say hi. Before I could completely stop hearing them though, I did hear a question from Deidara.

"....Wait....was that manga just now, un?"

No Deidara, I'm obviously a burglar disguised as a high school girl.

I reached my car with no trouble and proceeded to work.

*fifteen minutes later*

I parked my car in the driveway at work, got out, and started to walk towards the back entrance for the employees. I headed to the front and saw that I was once again put on cash register #4, the drive-thru cash register. The one given to the slow workers. I loved this register. I was too incompetent to learn how to do the chores for the other ones, so I was forever to stay on this register.

"Hi Haley," A coworker greeted me and I smiled.

"Hey Brittney, want some gum?" I asked. Oh, I also out five packs of gum in my apron everyday along with change I find outside while I clean windows.

"Sure, got any orange?" she asked, coming towards me and I nodded.

"Yup, let me clock in and I'll hand you a piece," I punched in my numbers, heard the paper printing off of the machine an proceeded to get out a piece of gum for Brittney.

"Thanks!" Brittney popped the gum in her mouth just as the manager of the day came up to us.

"Here's your drawer, Haley," she placed my drawer into the cash register and began to assign me to it. She gave me the numbers I had to punch in before leaving. I did so just as the person with my headset came into view. She handed it to me, clocked out, said goodbye, and then left. Such was our routine.

"Welp. I better restock cups and napkins before I do the windows," I sighed, checking to see which cups I needed before going in the back to get them. I felt my phone buzz when doing so and I quickly pulled it out to see Shiro texted me.

Send Help. Bipolar girlfriend will kill me.

I rolled my eyes before responding.

Oh, she won't kill you. Beat you to a pulp, maybe, but she won't kill you. I'm working now so I can't send anyone at present, ask Kisame or Hidan to help you out.

I put my phone away again and started stocking the cups. I then started on napkins, and like always when I started on windows, I heard my headset beep. I walked towards my register and quickly hit the to go button, pressing on the top of my headset so that I could talk to the customer.

"Hi, welcome to Konoha's Burgers where it's always beautiful, how can I help you today?" I asked.

"Uh, hi, I want the #3 combo meal with a coke to drink," the voice over the speaker said. I turned to see what the #3 combo meal was before punching it into the register.

"Okay, I have you done for a #3 with coke, is that all for you today?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Your total is $4.50," I told her, sending out the order. I started to make the coke, went over to place me order up by my food slot, and came back to finish the coke, placing a lid on it and grabbing a straw. I went to the window and opened it before laughing.

"Hey, I told you I was coming," Tsunade smiled.

"Yeah, I know. Didn't know it'd be this early though," I snickered.

"What can I say, I'm hungry. I'll trade you that coke for my $5," Tsunade responded and I nodded, taking the money and handing her the drink and straw.

"I'll be back with your change shortly," I told her. I went towards the cash register and punched the amount that she gave me in. The drawer opened up and I placed the five dollars in one slot before taking out two quarters.

"Here's your food," Brittney said, handing me my food.

"Thanks," I smiled and went back to Tsunade, handed out her change, and then her food.

"That was fast," Tsunade remarked.

"My lane gets busier literally an hour to ten minutes before we close. It's ridiculous," I sighed and she laughed.

"Yeah. Well, I got to go. See you at school Manga," Tsunade drove off before I could ask her not to call me that at work. Names stick. I just shrugged before getting back to work.

*an hour later*

"Haley, there' someone coming in and I have to clean the shake machine, can you get them?" Brittney looked at me and I nodded. Our other cashier was in the back doing dishes and I was the only one who didn't technical have to do anything until later. If I could start now, though, that'd be great.

"Hi, is this for here or to go?" I asked the guy coming in.

"Neither. I came in here ten minutes ago and you screwed up my order," he growled out.

"I'm sorry about that. I can go get my manager," I offered.

"I don't want your manager. I want my f***ing food," he spat out.

"Okay, do you have a receipt?" I asked, trying hard to smile.

"It's in my car. I want my food so I can go home and eat, which I would  be doing if you morons didn't screw up my order!" he hissed. At this point I heard the other door open, but I didn't even look to see who came in.

"Okay, see, that's a problem. We can't do anything if you don't have a receipt. If I recognized you, then I could make them do something, but I didn't take your order," I told him.

"I'm not going out to my car just to get a receipt!" the guy shouted. At this point my coworker flinched and the cooks in the back were staring. I think one of them was about to come up here when a familiar voice spoke up instead.

"The f*** you think you are a**hole? Some f***ing president?" Hidan stepped into view, obviously irritated with Sasori and Deidara behind him, slowly approaching.

"Hi Manga, un!" Deidara greeted and I smiled.

"Hi guys, I'll help you in just a second," I promised them.

"Why don't you go f*** off, pal?" The guy pushed Hidan and I felt my mouth drop some. Whelp.

"...Sasori, Deidara, take the order while I go take out some trash," Hidan told them. And that's how you know he's going to kill someone. He didn't even cuss.

"O-okay, yeah," Deidara hesitantly approached the counter while Sasori just stared at the menu.

"...what's a delightful sandwich?" Sasori asked.

"It's basically a double cheeseburger with tartar sauce," I told him.

"That sounds awful," he responded.

"Yet for some strange reason people like it," I shrugged.

By now Hidan had dragged that man outside and, if we had really wanted to see, he was beating the crap out of him.

"Okay, well, yeah. I think Kisame wanted a fish sandwich, um...wait, un! I have a paper with the order on it," Deidara took a piece of paper out of his pocket and I pushed a few buttons, double checking that I did everything right.

"Okay, that's going to be $60.34," I told them.

"Here," Sasori handed me a $100 and I took it, before giving him back his change.

"That's from our food budget, right? Not from your pocket?" I asked.

"As if I would pay for all this food," Sasori replied.

"Well, I'll get your food when it's  done. It'll be a while though," I warned.

"Yeah, un...we kind of figured that."

*twenty minutes later*

"Here, everything's bagged," I handed one of the three bags to Deidara, one to Sasori, and one to Hidan who had a fresh coat of blood on his shirt.

"Thanks b****," Hidan smiled, glad he got to beat someone up.

"So how are you going to go around with blood on your shirt, delinquent?" Sasori asked.

"If anyone asks, it's f***ing ketchup," Hidan answered.

"Right. See you guys soon!" I smiled before resuming my job.

"Why did they keep calling you Manga?" Brittney asked and I sighed.

Dangit. So close....so so close.

"It's a nickname," I told her.

"Oh. And how are you friends with them?" Brittney asked.

"It's a long story. Literally, it begins years ago. I don't want to bore. you or get you in trouble because we are slacking off right now," I told her.

"Hey munchkins, here's some silverware for you," our other cashier came up and I smiled. I have to wrap the silverware now..

"Thanks!" I started wrapping the silverware and sighed when I realized I still had a lot of stuff to clean and we closed in half an hour.

I wonder how Shiro and Sam were doing...
