Akame: "Athena!?"

Athena: "Stop him..." She looked confused before she noticed the dragon empress glaring at 'Dairoku'. "You have to stop him... He's using Dairoku's body to free himself! DEATH!"

The Ravenette's eyes widened as DEATH looked at them and chuckled with his sword, Retribution appearing in his hand. Making a circular motion with it, he lets out a roar as his wings spouted.

DEATH: "Oh you've got it all wrong, Dragon. I am already free. And now.. it's time for the Blood Bath to begin. Let hell rein over this realm!"

With the primary threat gone, a new one arises... Akame was now in a difficult situation. After battling the Empire's strongest.. she now had to fight the one she loved the most...

In a Life and Death battle.

CHAPTER 65: KILL DEATH

The flames of hell raged around the Revolutionary Army as Dairoku, whose body was now possessed by The God of the Underworld, DEATH, hovered before them. His quad wings unleashing flaming particles as he chuckled lowly and rose his hands.

DEATH: "Surrender your souls to me peacefully, and I will spare the excessive bloodshed." He said, with the four Satan Knights standing by his side

Revolutionist: "W-What is this...?"

Najenda: *grits teeth* "It happened... DEATH took over Dairoku's body..." She slowly clenched her fists while Akame just looked at Sinful Harbinger. Noticing her staring, he looked down at her, his demonic grin turning into a soft smile.

DEATH: "Hello my dear Reaper. You are as beautiful as my vessel says." At that, the red-eyed Vampiress narrowed her eyes with visible hatred and anger. Seeing that, The Demon God chuckled. "I like that look in your eyes. Truly brings the demon out of you."

Akame: "Shut up... Let Dairoku go, now."

DEATH: "Dear girl, this Dairoku you speak of is merely a conduit for me. He was dead long ago. The one you fell in love with was just a corpse." The ravenette gritted her teeth as she was seething in anger, but attempted to keep it in.

Akame: "Liar! He was real! I could feel him, our hearts are one!"

DEATH: "Oh? Heh... How adorable. Well if you're not willing to accept the reality, then I may have to force it upon you." He turned around before feeling an aura filled with killing intent approaching him. He grinned as he moved his hand back, blocking a strike from Esdeath's Rapier with his Retribution Sword; it was from Akame and her eyes displayed it all...

She was pissed off.

DEATH: "Oh dear... My beloved Reaper will have to be punished for opposing her master."

Akame: "I am NO ONE's servant.. especially NOT yours!" DEATH grinned as he made a single gesture with his left hand, commanding the four Satan Knights to attack the Revolutionary Army, which they obeyed.

DEATH: "Hah... Prove me wrong then, Reaper." He challenged before grabbing the Vampiress by the face, causing her to gasp in surprise as they both suddenly vanished from the area.

Mira: "Akame-Senpai! Woah!" She yelped as leaned back, narrowly dodging an axe strike from Rathian. Now the Satan Demon Knights opposed them, standing side by side with their weapons.

Selina: "W-What do we do now...??" She questioned as she was leaning next to her unconscious sister.

Chelsea: The Revolutionary Army's forces have been exhausted. And from seeing their fighting strength, we can't survive a battle against these guys as we are now.."

Najenda: *grits teeth* "We just have to trust Akame's ability to end this... without killing Dairoku."

Athena: "That... would be nigh-impossible..." She slowly approached the silver-haired female, holding her left shoulder. "The only way would be to destroy Yoake... However considering he's in his Sinful Harbinger state, Yoake is located inside of him..."

Lubbock: "Meaning there's a large chance that once it's destroyed while inside of him, he'll die... right?" Athena just nodded somberly as Mira, Chelsea and Selina looked shocked while Najenda clenched her fists tightly.

Akame yelled out before grunting as she was sent tumbling across Night Raid's base's floor. When DEATH had grabbed her and vanished with her, the two had teleported to Night Raid's base and were currently in the main meeting room with the Assassin Organization logo and Najenda's chair. She grunted, stabbing the ground with Esdeath's Rapier as she stood up and the Hell God approached her before looking around.

DEATH: "This is quite an interesting place I may say. Quite roomy too. After I take over this realm, I'll make this place into my castle."

The ravenette gritted her teeth as the God's aura erupted, shaking the entire base and the mountain it was located in as he smirked. With crimson lightning bolts sparking around her, Akame's eyes glowed dangerously as she crouched down before blitzing towards him, becoming a lightning bolt herself.

Pointing Retribution behind him and pouring his energy into it, its blade erupted into a black and red burst of energy like how Excalibur does. He then made a horizontal swing, slashing through the room's walls and towards Akame who was moving fast enough to out maneuver it.

The Demon Vampiress was surprised by the sheer power output. When Dairoku used this form against Esdeath and Budo, it was nowhere near as power as it is now. That only meant that this was DEATH's true power unleashed. Despite her exhausting her energy against Esdeath, Akame was able to retain her speed and dodge the incoming attacks. However, she knew every well from experience how sturdy her boyfriend's body had become. So she's gonna need a lot of strength and strategy to even knock him down. Luckily for her, Kuraime always referred to her as the more tactical one and she wasn't wrong.

Suddenly appearing behind the god, Akame made an attempt to strike him down with Esdeath's Rapier, only for him to counter the attack. Soon, she appeared in front of him, thrusting the rapier forwards, only for DEATH to catch the blade in his hand, with the demonic hide shielding his hand from being cut.

He then retaliated by slashing horizontally with Retribution, creating a dark arc or energy forcing the ravenette to back flip out of the way, but the shockwave sent her crashing into Najenda's chair, destroying it.

Akame's thoughts: "Tch... His power is.. intense.. But.. I have an idea... Choosing to discard my humanity came with its perks.. such as powers that no one else has... I'll try to slow him down using my eyes..."

Akame quickly got back up on her feet and bounced from wall to wall, using her Requiem Claws as grappling hooks as DEATH watched her intensely. Everything slowed down as she leaped towards another wall before her eyes suddenly glared at the Demon into his own, glowing intensely as a pulse of energy went out. Growling lightly, DEATH readied Retribution to unleash another burst of energy, only for that energy to fade away.

DEATH's thoughts: "What..?"

Just as he was about to attack, Akame was already in front of him, dealing a double drop kick to the God of Hell, who crossed his arms in front of his body and extended his wings to stop himself from being pushed back. The impact itself was enough to create a massive shockwave that destroyed the room's floor completely and sent Akame flying back, but she latched herself to the roof using the Requiem Claws, like a spider.

Soon, she leaped from the roof and unleashed her Requiem Claws, sending them out to slash the Demon God apart. He however, countered them with Retribution before they began circling him, causing him to raise his guard to them. The ravenette however was leaping across the room as a lightning bolt, before sending another glare towards DEATH, her eyes glowing again as she sent out another pulse of energy. Feeling it, DEATH grunted as he noticed parts of his body drying up and becoming stone like his wings and effectively slowing him down.

DEATH: "The Cursed Eyes of Medusa? You dare use my own powers against me!?"

Akame: "Fault yourself for sealing your powers into Ketsuekime!"

She scolded as crimson lightning sparked around her left hand before forming into a shape. DEATH looked up and rose Retribution just as he blocked a strike from her, but much to his surprise, it wasn't from Esdeath's Rapier or her Requiem Claws. It was by a black and red sword in her off hand that pulsated in power.

DEATH's thoughts: "The Twilight Flower... Heh... She really is growing stronger by the minute. That's how I know she'll become an excellent Reaper."

(Demon Blade-Mikazukihana)

Everything crumbled around them from the impact before blackened energy erupted from Retribution. Akame blitzed away and began to run circles around the God as he unleashed his devastating attack, destroying everything behind her.

Rubble began to fall from the roof as DEATH broke his wings out of their stone prison and flapped them, flying up to Akame who was in mid air, standing on one of the rubble pieces. He crashed Retribution down on her, only for her to narrowly dodge, with only a few strands of her hair being discarded before she pointed both Mikazukihana and Esdeath's Rapier forwards and charged the Demon, who blocked with his armored arms. However, he grunted as blood seeped from his arms, showing that Mikazukihana was capable of slashing through that tough hide.

Dashing across another falling rock, the Vampiress glowed darkly as she blitzed from it and down to DEATH who awaited her with Retribution sparking in energy. They soon traded multiple strikes while falling down the piece of rubble, moving at insane speeds before a kick to his face knocked DEATH off balance. He began to fall before roaring as Retribution bursts into energy and he made a horizontal slash. Seeing this triggered Akame to leap over the attack as the energy beam caused the rocks below her to erupt into magma, then into an explosion that knocked her around.

Regaining her momentum, she sped towards the Demon King, clashing her blades with his as she flipped around, her Requiem Claws bouncing from rock to rock. Soon, she grunted as DEATH punched her in the face, causing her to go flying back and be suspended in the air. She gritted her teeth before gasping as the Demon was now above her, Retribution's blade pulsating and erupting in energy. With her eyes glowing and made a hand gesture with both of her hands as suddenly, multiple blood red chains appeared around DEATH and trapped him in a net-like network.

DEATH: "What!?" The Requiem Claws returned to Akame as she clenched her fists in a gesture, causing the chains to suddenly contract and wrap round him before slamming the many pieces of rubble into him, canceling out his attack. "Tch.. Not bad, Reaper!"

He growled as he fell to the ground, the pieces of rubble shattering around him. He looked in front of him and watched as Akame got into a position with one hand on the ground and her glowing red eyes glaring daggers at him, her pupils flashing red as well before changing to purple. Soon, the wings of Ajax appeared on her back, the turbines rotating so fast to the point lightning bounced off of him. Seeing this triggered DEATH to point his blade back before it bursts into dark energy, resembling a large black and red blade like Excalibur's Mana Burst.

Akame: "Sonic..."

DEATH: "Blood..."

Akame: "Typhoon!!!"

DEATH: "Calibur!!!"

Soon her turbines unleashed a massive wave of energy clacking with crimson lightning as the Demon's sword launched a massive blacked wave of demonic energy. The moment the two attacks collided, a massive explosion engulfed them.

Akame grunted and coughed while coving her nose with her elbow as the room was engulfed large smoke cloud, but from what she could see, the base's meeting room was basically in ruins. She then looked around for DEATH, and saw no sign of him.. Until she gasped as the Demon's hand grabbed her by the neck and lifted her into the air. She gritted her teeth and was about to retaliate before the two of them suddenly teleported back to where the Revolutionary Army was in the Empire.

Immediately, after the Demon God slammed her into the ground twice before ending her crashing into the wall, Esdeath's Rapier and Mikazukihana flying out of her hands. Soon she gasped as two hell fire blades were sent flying towards her, but thankfully they only struck Ajax's wings, disabling them and pinning her to the wall. Akame groaned as she released heavy pants. Taking a look around, she saw that the Revolutionary Army somehow managed to hold their own against the Demon Knights and were keeping them at bay.

Looking back to her possessed boyfriend, Akame's eyes widened as she saw him sending three more fire blades towards her, this time aiming for her arms and legs. She clenched her eyes shut, getting ready to feel the sharp impact only to feel nothing and hear another female's grunt of pain. She opened her eyes, only for her eyes to widen as she saw who took the attack...

Artoria.

Akame: "Artoria!"

The King of Knights only groaned as her King's Fury Kai form's helmet shattered revealing her battered face with blood falling down her mouth. She stabbed Excalibur into the ground and leaned against it for support.

DEATH: "Oh? Do you wish to die too? You would have made an excellent Satan Knight."

Artoria: "My master... Is Dairoku.. and only him."

DEATH: *shakes head* "What a waste of potential.. Well prepare to have your retribution!"

His Retribution's blade erupted into a crimson energy this time as he reared back and prepared to attack. Akame was yelling at Artoria, telling her to get out of the way and to save herself. The King of Knights however, just stood there, her dull green eyes staring at the Demon King before her before her eyes widened as she saw a flash of Dairoku smiling at her in her mind. That was soon followed up by a shining white light. She gasped a little before she slowly began to reach towards it.

DEATH: "Blood Calibur!!!"

He yelled, unleashing the same attack he did to Akame as the ravenette yelled at the top of her lungs, begging for Artoria to move out of the way. She didn't however. She just reached for the light.

Artoria's thoughts: "You were my... You were my Sheath... Dairoku.. The Utopia I dreamt of ... Its name is..."

She looked up as the silhouette of a particular bladed shape appeared. As it came into view however, Artoria witnessed the object; a blue and gold sheath.. and it's name was...

"Avalon!"

Her hand struggled but she managed to grab onto it. After contact was made, it began to shine brightly, with golden streaks flying outwards from it before a burst of golden energy flew from it and into Artoria, coating her in a golden energy.

Akame watched in astonishment as Artoria's wounds quickly healed and her energy spiked completely. Opening her eyes, she rose Excalibur, its blade glowing golden before she slashed DEATH's attack in two and negating it completely.

DEATH: "What!?"

Artoria: "Release my master this instant, you demon FILTH!!"

She yelled as she bolted towards him. Her King's Fury Kai armor however began to glow white before dispersing into particles that flew into Excalibur, coating its blade in a white aura and leaving Artoria in her dress under her armor.

DEATH: "Why, you..! Using such petty tricks against me!"

Artoria: "Ex...!!"

DEATH: "Blood Cali-"

Artoria: "...CALIBUR!!"

As she slashed down on across his chest, DEATH gasped and grunted as blood flew out of his chest. But more importantly, he began to glow as Yoake suddenly flew right out of chest and landed on the ground in front of Akame who looked in shock.

DEATH: "N-No!!" He yelled, his form beginning to become unstable. She made a desperate dash towards the Zodiac.

Artoria: "Akame! Destroy Yoake!! It'll free Dairoku!!!"

The ravenette's eyes widened at the statement before she narrowed her eyes. With the Fire blades in Ajax's wings vanishing, she made a mad dash towards Yoake as Artoria threw her blade to her. Catching Excalibur in her hand, Akame increased her speed as both her and DEATH approached the Zodiac. Everything slow downed as their hands inched closer. With her body having Crimson Lightning bouncing off of her and became a lightning bolt and sped toward it and managed to snatch Yoake from right under DEATH. He looked around, desperate before noticing Akame throwing his Zodiac into the air and with her in a striking position with Excalibur.

DEATH: "NOO DON'T!!!" Akame only glared back at him, her eyes filled with rage and hatred before she spoke in a voice filled with malice.

Akame: "Rot... In Hell, you Bastard!!"

She yelled as Excalibur's blade became coated in the same white energy. With one single slash to the Zodiac, Yoake shattered into multiple pieces which disintegrated into dust. Upon the Zodiac's destruction, The four Satan Knights suddenly stopped their attacks before their bodies began to disintegrate into dust and vanish away. DEATH looked around, standing in front of Akame before the Sinful Harbinger from began to let off fiery particles. It was the sign of DEATH's soul vanishing. He closed his eyes before letting out a small bitter chuckle.

DEATH: "Avalon... The utopia that kings are said to reach after their deaths. The ultimate defense that repels even the strongest of magic and allows no interference from others... That's.. the real power of the Legendary Holy Sword... Hah..."

Akame looked up at him, retaining her slashing pose as he gently caressed her cheek. His form soon vanished, revealing a smiling 'Dairoku' with black eyes instead of red ones. On the side of his heads were curled demonic horns and there were faint red markings all over his skin, like Akame had.

DEATH: "You're such a detestable girl. You resisted my influence to the very end. But I forgive you... Besides... To be my Reaper, you have to have that strong of a will... I'm proud... *closes eyes* Farewell, Queen of Hell. You have earned your reward."

Soon, red particles began to rise from his body as his eyes slowly shut and he fell into the ravenette's arms. The particles rose into the sky as Akame held her boyfriend's body tightly to her. She looked up to the sky as she laid his head into her lap before closing her eyes. She lowly looked to her left and saw Artoria approaching her.

The two females then looked down to Dairoku, with the ravenette leaning down to listen for a heartbeat. However, her eyes widened as she heard nothing. She listened again and just like before, nothing... Quickly she began to pump his chest to hopefully restart his heart, even using lightning to amplify it, but nothing again. She even attempted mouth-to-mouth to use artificial air to refurnish his lungs. All the while, desperate tears began to fall from her eyes.

There was nothing still.. Slowly, she began weeping as she held his body close to her, hugging his head into her chest. Artoria's eyes had widened before she clenched her fits and looked off to the side, feeling guilty for this.

This moment of despair however, didn't last very long as a *boom* was hear from the Male Vampire's chest. Soon, it was followed up my multiple that became a steady and strong string of heartbeats. Akame's eyes widened as she quickly looked down at him, hearing him groan lightly before his eyes fluttered open, revealing their colors to be crimson once again.

Dairoku: "Ugh... What... the... My head... Akame..?" He looked up at her, only to feel his face becoming wet from the many tears from Akame that were falling onto him. "Hey... Why are you.."

Akame: "Dumb..." That caught him off guard as she suddenly punched his chest repeatedly, but weakly as her cries amplified more, becoming whaling of happiness. "Dumbass.. Idiot... You fucking dumbass!!"

Dairoku was just confused as ever before he glanced a bit towards Artoria, who only smiled at him and shook her head, indicating that he should just let her emotions run free. And that's what he did. His hand slowly reached up and stroked the crying ravenette's hair as he closed his eyes.

It was finally over. Peace was achieved..
