The War has begun.
CHAPTER 59: KILL THE SOURCE

Standing atop of the Capital's walls was General Esdeath along with the last of the Rakasha demons, Suzuka. The observed as the Revolutionary Army below them, mobilizing themselves and aiming their cannons at the main wall. Esdeath could only smile in amusement and excitement, seeing how well they've prepared themselves.

Esdeath: "Enemies as far as the eye can see.. how wonderful."

Suzuka: "They're planning to come at us from every direction. Hahaha.."

Esdeath had no worry however as she had prepared her own army. Seeing Dairoku march into the capital with his Hell-Army, inspired her to make her own known as the Ice Calvary, an army of Ice Centaur Knights.

Esdeath: "Let's see how they react when they're face to face with our Ice Calvary." Little did she know that the Revolutionary Army was already aware of them, thanks to their spies and especially Levi's spy capabilities.

Soon, the loud booming of the cannons firing signifying the beginning of the War.

The Revolutionary Army unleashed its cannon balls upon the great wall, with Esdeath's grin only growing more and more as a blush of delight and excitement formed on her face. Suzuka watched her, a blush forming on her face from seeing her expression.

Suzuka's thoughts: "She looks so elated...!!"

Esdeath: "Look!! They're greeting us with waves of cannon fire!" With her body fully ready, she snapped her fingers and leaped into the air with her floating icicles on her limbs to keep her suspended in midair. "Well then.. Let's say hello with a little fireworks show!!!"

She created thousands of icicles before launching them downwards to collide with the Cannon Fire. It was successful as once they met, explosions lit up the sky. Down below, Najenda and a Revolutionist looked up, their mouths agape from shock.

Revolutionist: "A-All of the Cannonballs destroyed in an instant.."

Najenda: "This is all going according to plan. We're fine."

Revolutionist: "Ahh! So we're aiming to make her gradually use up all of her energy.. I get it now!"

Najenda's thoughts: "I'd love for that to be true, but I never imagined she'd make such quick work of every last one... I always knew, when the Dust settles, the last one standing in our way would be you... Esdeath!!!" She rose her arm into the air, signifying for the Revolutionists to send a flare into the sky to signal the Danger Beast Team to joining them. *out loud* "We'll take down the Empire's mightiest, with everything we've got!"

Hundreds of massive Danger Beasts surrounded the Capital, with a singular man sitting on the head of one of them, a wooden staff on his back. It was clear that whatever that staff was, was a Teigu.

Esdeath: "A Danger Beast Controlling Teigu, is it now.. They must be planning to destroy the Palace walls with that. Well too back, we've got a similar Teigu on our side! Give the signal!!"

Suzuka: "Yes ma'am!!"

Backing away, Suzuka launched a flare into the air and in a matter of seconds, hundreds of Dragon-like Danger Beasts dived from the skies and immediately began to attack the opposing Danger Beasts. As the Revolution Danger Beast's dropped one by one, Esdeath watched in enjoyment.

Esdeath: "Haha!! A fitting ceremony to commemorate the final war!! Now the appetizers have been served, let's get to the main courses! Ice Cavalry, charge!!"

With her signal, her entire army of ice centaurs charges towards the Revolutionary Army. Seeing this, Tatsumi, Saber and Mira, who had Alkonost's wings on her back, were dashing/flying into the fray.

Mira: "That's our cue! Let's take them down! Alkonost!!" She glowed brightly a magenta color as the armor covered her and she twirled Gensō no Sutoraikā.

Meanwhile, Saber became coated in a golden Mana aura while Tatsumi took out Incursio's Key.

Tatsumi: "INCURSIO!!!"

The Danger Beast armor erupted behind him, chasing after him before cladding him in its organic, bestial Armor. Together with Saber, the two of them head straight for the heart of the Ice Calvary and both slashed a couple of them to pieces, all the while Mira flew above them, using primarily her Fire and Lightning elements from Gensō no Sutoraikā to melt and erupt the ice centaurs. All three of them knew what this battle meant... if they let their guards down for even a second, then it could mean their deaths.

Inside the Imperial Palace, Top floor...

The Emperor and Prime Minister, Honest were located in the very top floor of the Imperial Palace. It was clear that the battle had started just from the muffled sounds of gunfire, explosions and more. The Young Emperor was understandingly nervous as this would be his first time participating in a battle and the thought of killing someone, was weighing on his young and underdeveloped mind.

Honest: "According to the messenger, General Esdeath and the others are currently holding the enemy at bay." At that, it was as if the Emperor's worries washed away as he looked back at the Prime Minister, happily.

Emperor: "Ooh! I'd expect nothing less of the General!"

Honest: "But we cannot rest on our laurels. Let us at least be prepared."

Emperor: "O-Okay.." He looked to the scepter in his hand and clutched it; this was the Key to the Royal Family's Trump Card. "Right now, this is what I can do... The Supreme Teigu."

Honest: "Yes... without the blood of the Great Emperor, that power of that Teigu cannot be unleashed, which means no other human is capable of using it." Hearing his words boosted the Emperor's morale. He clutched onto the scepter and started to make his way forwards.

Emperor: Alright! It's time for my first battle!"

Honest: "Splendid, your majesty. How heroic. Our benevolent lord truly shines in our most perilous moment! Even from behind.. you are the splitting image of your late father, the previous Emperor."

(A/N: "This fat fuck be checking little boys from behind......")

Hearing the Prime Minister compare him to his father in such a manor, caused his eyes to widen slightly before he looked down, a small bitter smile forming on his face.

Emperor: "Oh...? Hearing that... brings me so much joy... Father was a great emperor. So great that mother committed suicide to follow the lord in death... As their heir, without hesitation or doubt, shall gladly inherit the title of Emperor."

The Prime Minister rose his eyebrow, before letting out a small sinister chuckle. The Young Emperor was under the impression that his father died from heart failure and his mother committed suicide. That couldn't have been furthered from the truth. In reality, Honest was the one who killed them.

He poisoned the Great Emperor over and over again until his body completely shut down while he forced strong poison into the mother's throat.

Honest held his sinister grin as the Emperor moved up to the platform before tapping the pedestal with the Scepter. Immediately that started the Supreme Teigu's activation, with a bright light shining from the platform itself.

Honest's thoughts: "You majesty.. as long as you listen and follow every word I say, I'll be sure to take excellent care of you. So o on and keep working your little ass off."

It was amazing.. The Supreme's Teigu's sheer power was insane. It flowed into the Emperor, consuming him and making him its wielder.

Emperor: "It's flowing into my mind...! I can see the way to operate it! The Supreme Teigu.. it's so incredible...!!" But there was a clear issue with this Teigu and the Emperor recognized it immediately. It's power was so great, that it could destroy the entire Empire it was built to protect... no all of Humanity itself. "Minister!! This weapon will destroy Humanity itself! It's too dangerous!!!"

Honest: "That's why I want you to use your smarts to master it! We cannot let this Great Empire that has lasted a thousand years to come to an end!!"

The Imperial Palace; Bedroom...

The first of Night Raid's final targets, Youkan was trembling in the corner of the room as Leone, Levi and Akame finished off the guards. Upon seeing Akame's face, he became more terrified but at the same time amazed by her, However, his terror immediately escalated as Dairoku landed in front of him, his eyes glowing darkly as Yoake in scythe mode, roared in hunger.

Youkan: "A-Ahh!! D-Dairoku!! W-Wait! I have a child I love. If it's money you want, I'll give it to you!" Dairoku just said nothing as he approached him and twirled Yoake. "So... It's no use.. Then at least let me say my last words to Akame. I just thought of a lovely poem to read to her. Allow me to..-"

He was swiftly cut off by the Harbinger de-heading him immediately, not wanting him to say a single word to his girlfriend.

Dairoku: "Old bags never know when to shut the fuck up..." he said as Leone and Levi grinned in amusement.

Levi: "Oh, jealousy." She said with a small giggle as Akame blushed lightly but let loose a small giggle.

Leone: "Welp, first one down. Just as we thought, all the guards have been sent into battle, so that was a piece of cake."

Akame: "And the palace map our spy team got a hold of was right on the money. We were able to avoid the traps."

Dairoku: "Got that right. Now let's head for the throne-" He stopped for a moment as he felt a slight rumbling. The others felt it too as they looked around. "Could it be...?"

Athena: "The Supreme Teigu... It's being activated..."

Out in the Battle field...

(A/N: "Another thing. Just like with what I did with Sekai, I'll be giving some of the Teigu Users in the army names. Mainly the ones who speak. So those who never speak, will have no name.")

Esdeath stood atop of the wall, watching the Revolutionary Army's methods in tackling the war. Using the Teigu, Scream that they retrieved from Nyau, they would boost the fighting power of the entire army, including of the other Teigu/Zodiac users in the army. But it was evident with the Ice Calvary that something was off. Each blow they did to them, they'd just regenerate. That posed a problem, so it was obvious on what was to happen.

Najenda: "Anyone in possession of a Teigu or Zodiac, destroy the Ice Calvary!"

And that's what they did. First, a dark skinned female leaped from the army with Daidara's Teigu, Belvaac in her hands; her name was Natalie. Using the immense strength that the Teigu provided, she threw it towards some of the Ice Calvary's soldiers, slashing them to bits and this time, they weren't regenerating. When she landed on the ground, another of the Ice Calvary charged her, only for the wielder of Sheele's Teigu, Extase, the female named Sekai to leap into the air, over her and slash it to bits.

Sekai: "You okay!?"

Natalie: "Yeah!" However, more just continued to charge them. It became clear very quickly that this would be nearly endless. "Tch! No matter how many we take out, they just keep coming!"

However, Ex-General Liver's Teigu, Black Marlin aided them. The male wearing the ring-shaped Water Teigu, summoned multiple pillars of water dragons before launching them at the Ice Calvary, the force behind the waves shattering some of them.

Soon after, a purple blast of energy was fired into the centre of a group of the Centaurs before expanding into a miniature black hole, crushing them almost instantly. That feat was pulled off by Lieselotte's Zodiac, Gleipnir.

Natalie: "Amazing..."

???: "Sekai-San! Natalie-San!"

The two females looked behind them, seeing Lieselotte's younger sister, Selina Sherlock waving at them. In her hand was Gleipnir, however it took a different form. Instead of being a Pc Tablet, it was a small ray gun witch soon converted into a camera. Her outfit also changed. Now she looked more like a mage, with a white and blue mage outfit, with a dark blue sash on her right side, oink thigh-high stockings and dark brown thigh-high boots.

Sekai: "Good job, Selina! Lieselotte would be proud of you!"

Selina: "Ehehe! I know!"

With Tatsumi, he roared his battle cry as he charged through the Ice Calvary, striking each down one by one before blocking one's lance strike with his halberd before decapitating it.

Soon, a water spout formed behind him, swirling up about of the Ice Centaurs into its watery winds before golden lightning struck the Water Spout, incinerating all inside of it. This was of course from Mira and her elemental Zodiac, Gensō no Sutoraikā.

Immediately after, a Golden burst of Mana erupted from Excalibur's blade as Saber made multiple swift slashes, unleashing multiple Mana Arcs that sliced through some of the Ice Calvary like a knife through hot butter.

Najenda: "Tatsumi! Mira! Saber! You're all doing well, but don't get too far from the leaders unit!"

Mira (Alkonost): "Roger!"

Saber: "Understood!"

Tatsumi (Incursio): "You got it, boss!"

Najenda: "There's no way Esdeath will be satisfied with only moving her pawns around. She'll be coming down herself sooner than later!"

Hearing that startled the three and she wasn't wrong. As if on cue, the sound of a horse's neigh caught the four Night Raiders' attention. Much to their dismay, Esdeath had joined the fight on the back of an Ice Horse.

Esdeath: "Let's go!! This is how I'll break through!!" She yelled, pointing her Rapier forwards as she charged through an entire platoon of the Revolutionary Army and destroyed each one of them.

Mira (Alkonost): "N-No..."

Najenda: "Here she comes!"

Revolutionist: "My god, she's terrible!"

Najenda: "She was born to battle, but I've come up with all sorts of ways to beat Esdeath. Don't make direct contact with Esdeath! Focus on defense and wait for her to tire out!"

It was quite a formidable plan. With the Tanks of the Revolutionary Army in the front and shields up, they've formed a defensive barrier to hopefully slow Esdeath down.

Esdeath: "Nice move. Not bad, rebel army!" However, this wasn't just a plan to slow her down. It was a plan to get her away from the northern area of the Palace walls and it worked as immediately after, the Revolutionary Army penetrated through it.

Imperial Guard: "General Esdeath! The Rebel Army has broken through the Northern Castle Gate!"

Esdeath: "Tch... The enemy's action changed dramatically once I took to the field. They've certainly been training." Seeing the situation, Esdeath had two options: 1. Crush the Revolutionary Army. 2. Save herself. If she was to save herself, the Empire would fall no doubt. So she chose option. "I don't care what it takes! Crush the enemy's commanders!! We won't let them win this!!"

She charged forwards on her Ice horse, however, feeling it heavily tilt to the left from having its two left legs slashed off, caught her by surprise. She quickly leaped off of it and turned to see Tatsumi, who was the one who dealt the strike.

Tatsumi (Incursio): "Not on my watch, Esdeath!!"

Esdeath: "Tatsumi, you came! I've been waiting for this moment!!" She yelled excited. Tatsumi turned to face her, however a magenta blur flew right past the Icy General and headed towards Tatsumi; it was Mira.

Mira (Alkonost): "Tatsumi, now!!"

She yelled, the staff head of Gensō no Sutoraikā glowing bright red along with the fire ring on it. Tatsumi, seeing her nodded and held out his halberd. Once Gensō no Sutoraikā came in contact with it, flames burst from it and onto the head of the Halberd, effectively turning it into a fire weapon.

Esdeath: "Engulfing your weapon in a Zodiac's flames, how smart of you both!" She yelled, launching herself forwards towards them.

As Mira flew into the air, Tatsumi battled Esdeath, his flames and Rapier clashing against her ice and blade brilliantly. However, it seemed like Esdeath wasn't playing around this time and was going all out as Tatsumi grunted as he was being pushed back. Gritting his teeth, he lunged his hand and grabbed onto her left wrist, surprising her.

Tatsumi (Incursio): "Got you! Before you can break my armor...!" He was getting ready to thrust his halberd forwards, only for her to grin.

Esdeath: "Oh you. Don't you really what touching me will get you?"

The Incursio wearer was a bit confused before his eyes widened as the Icy General tapped his hand with her free right hand, immediately incasing him in a block of ice. However, a fire ball crashed against both the ice and Esdeath, causing it to melt and explode, sending her flying back slightly and freeing Tatsumi. She gritted her teeth before feeling a presence approaching her quickly. She turned around and spotted Saber dashing towards her before making a swift swing at her with Excalibur. Quickly taking her Rapier from her side, Esdeath blocked it and managed to kick the Saber-Class Zodiac-Spirit over her, causing her to land next to Tatsumi and Mira.

Saber: "Tch... She's just as much of a monster as I remember her being."

Mira (Alkonost): "I'm not sure we can hold her off for long without Senpai and Akame-Senpai."

Tatsumi (Incursio): "We can do this! We have to! The future of this country will depend on whether she dies or not and she needs to go down!"

Girls: "Roger!"

At that, Esdeath only grinned sinisterly as she began to slowly approach them, while swinging and twirling her Rapier around. As Tatsumi and Mira prepared themselves, Saber closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Dairoku: "Saber... Artoria... This is my final order for you, as your Master... Destroy Esdeath and the Imperial Guards. No matter the cost."

That was the final mission she was assigned to by Dairoku. She knew the meaning behind his words and was going to follow them fiercely. Even if it would cost her, her life.. she was going to prevail.

Esdeath WILL fall.

Saber: "KING'S FURY!!!"

She erupted into a golden pillar of Mana that sky rocketed into the clouds. She was using her Trump Card, however something was different. Her power was raising significantly higher than it would have before.. It was like she was evolving... Once the pillar of energy vanished, There Saber stood. She was mechanized once again, however it was drastically different from how it looked before. The helmet and shoulders had golden hair flowing from them and a black visor with yellow glowing eyes above that that looked like a lion.

Esdeath: "Oh? Hehehe.. Seems like you've evolved dear, Zodiac-Spirit. Impressive! Entertain me, all of you!" Saber said nothing before holding our her right hand. Soon, appearing in it, was a large spiral drill-like spear.

Saber (Fury): "I am the King of Knights.. Artoria Pendragon. And you, General Esdeath, WILL fall today!"
