(Dairoku's POV)

So...... it has been like a month after we obtained Absolute Zero and... well the Zodiac called, Excalibur and it's partner, Saber. So it turns out that, Saber's like Susanoo in a way, a biological-Zodiac. It's hard to explain, but, Night Raid's fighting strength just increased significantly. Anyways, this day, we were notified that we had acquired a new base location and were to head back to the capital. After a refreshing Air Manta ride, we had arrived, exactly 15km northeast of the capital.

Dairoku: "Ah... The nostalgic feels this place gives me..."

Tatsumi: "Yeah. It doesn't really fell like a new hideout."

Kuraime: "Well that's to be expected in this line of work."

Akame: "Exactly. When you keep escape options and base of discovery in mind, it naturally ends up similar to the old one."

I noticed Saber looking up at the new base, a curious and intrigued expression on her face.

Dairoku: "You good over there?"

Saber: "Yes. It's just... this structure certainly larger than the temple I was asleep in."

Dairoku: "Welp, make yourself at home, cause we're gonna be staying here until it gets found out like our last one."

Saber: "Right, Master."

Dairoku: "And please don't call me that..."

Mine: "And this one has a Hot Springs too!"

Mira: "Yeah, that does sound really pleasant."

Leone: "After we're done, let's have some drinks there."

Chelsea: "Sounds good~!"

Levi: "Hehehe. Oh I can tell I'm gonna have fun~" she made a purring noise, causing Mira to glare at her.

Mira: "Levi-San!"

Levi: "Hehehe! Just kidding. Or am I~?" Mira just sighed.

Lubbock: "Najenda-San!!" the green haired pervert was running over to the boss. "I've finished laying down a barrier around the base!"

Najenda: "Good."

Susanoo: "I've also finished digging a hole for emergency escapes." He said, walking up to her with a shovel in hand. Najenda immediately looked delighted.

Najenda: "Oh, that was fast. As expected of you, Susanoo. With this, our base is fully operational." I looked at Lubbock, only to see his expected shocked expression. He quickly ran up to Susanoo and glared at him.

Lubbock: "Don't think you've one with this!"

Susanoo: "What are you talking about?"

Dairoku: "This is sad to watch..." I sighed, to which Akame next to me nodded.

Tatsumi: "A new base, huh."

CHAPTER 20: KILL THE HINDRANCES

(3rd Person POV)

Immediately after settling into their new base, the new Night Raiders gathered in the meeting room. Najenda, who was sitting in the center chair while smoking, began the mission briefing.

Najenda: "Now that we're returned without delay, the targets this time are the aforementioned new species of Danger Beast. There have been many cases of them mobilizing in groups, and despite it being rudimentary, they display signs of intelligence. Individually, they have strong physical abilities, and even in Martial Arts, Masters have challenged them to test their abilities and lost. Even now they lurk in mines and woods to the south of the capital. They greedily feeds upon people and livestock. The Jaegers and Imperial Army exterminate them daily, but it seems they're numerous and there are still many left."

Saber: "Hmm... Highly intelligent creatures with extreme combat capabilities. Interesting... It seems like the enemies are evolving more". She analyzed with her hand pinching her chin. She was wearing her same blue dress, though the armored segments were gone and Excalibur was leaning against the wall, next to the other Zodiacs and Teigu.

(A/N: "I forgot how cute Saber actually is... Makes me wanna do a Fate Fanfic, But with how complicated the series is, there's a 99% chance that will not happen)

Mine: "If the Empire's having difficulty with them, then it doesn't seem to be a trap."

Najenda: "You might call it helping the empire, but that's fine, right?"

Mira: "Well, considering the damage to innocent people these Danger Beasts dealt, the Justice needs to be swiftly brought upon."

Tatsumi: "Yeah! It's just circumstantial this time!"

Kuraime: "Besides, these Danger Beasts can prove to be just as problematic to us in the long run."

Akame: "And in that case, they need to be promptly eliminated." The Ex-General smirked a bit in response before Leone decided to open her mouth.

Leone: "I wouldn't want to run into any soldiers though."

Dairoku: "True, that is the last thing we all need... Though to be fair..." Levi finished for him

Levi: " ...we are named Night Raid for a reason." She said with a bit of a smirk.

Najenda: "Exactly. We can just move at night, when the empire is resting."

Leone: "Ah, right. That's right, that's the kinda group we are..."

Dairoku: "Yeah no shit..."

Chelsea: "Hmm..." She hummed to herself as she leaned against a pillar, while everyone turned to look at her. "We're going to go beast hunting, accepting such a risk... It's fine if we leave it to the Jaegers. Like I said, you're all soft..." Everyone remained quiet, though much to the veteran's surprise, Tatsumi had a serious expression.

Tatsumi: "... We understand what you want to say... But even now, these guys might be attacking someone. We might be killers, but we're allies of the people. Even if it's just to save one more person, we want to speed up the extermination!" Chelsea looked at him with her normal expressionless face, though on the inside, she was surprised from his optimism and determination, but ultimately, she sighed.

Chelsea: "...Well, I thought you would say that. I get it, I get it." She said, shrugging. However before anyone knew it, Susanoo looked intensely at Tatsumi.

Susanoo: "...Tatsumi... I have something I want to tell you..."

Tatsumi: "...Suu?" Then... it happened...

Susanoo: "Could you please zip up your pants!? It's been bothering me for a while now!"

Tatsumi: "AH!" He yelped as he looked down to see, it was undone. As Lubbock, Leone and Levi began snickering, Tatsumi slowly and quietly zipped up his fly trap.

Leone: "AFTER BEING ABLE TO NAIL THAT SPEECH, HOW UNCOOL!! AHAHAHAH!!!"

Lubbock: " Hey, hey! How do you feel!? How do you feel!?"

Levi: "AHAHAHA!! THAT WAS GOLDEN!!! Good one Suu-San!"

Mine: "That's what you get for trying to be cool...!" She mumbled while crossing her arms with a small blush on her face.

Mira: "Oh why did I expect that to happen...?" She sighed as she took off her glasses and facepalmed.

Tatsumi: "SHUT UP!!!"

Kuraime: "We're sorry, Tatsumi..." He stopped whining and slowly turned to stare at the two ravenette girls and Saber, who all looked slightly sheepish.

Akame: "We noticed it, but thought it was some sort of fashion statement."

Tatsumi: "Are you serious!? What the hell kind of exhibitionist do you think I am!?!?" Suddenly, he flinched upon spotting the three girls crouching before him.

Saber: "Well, from now on, we'll look back at it every now and then to make sure it stays up."

Akame and Kuraime: "Right!"  They replied determined. However, Tatsumi and Dairoku did not approve of this at all.

Dairoku: "NO YOUR NOT!!!!" He yelled as he pulled them all back.

Tatsumi: "NOO!!! PLEASE DON'T!!!!"

Saber: "I'm just looking out for him, Master."

Dairoku: "I know you want to, but if people see you starting at his crotch, then they gonna think you want something! And also, stop calling me that!" Saber seemed to ponder her words before she snapped back to Tatsumi, who flinched, but then looked back at her master, who was in the middle of calling out Akame. "And you, your eyes don't EVER go to his crotch, got it!?" Akame however, giggled.

Akame: *giggling* "You get so easily jealous, Daiku."

Dairoku: "Wha!? No I don't!"

Akame: "But don't worry..." She kissed his cheek and looked at him with a slight smirk. "My eyes are only on you." That last sentence caught him off guard as he blushed a bit.

Dairoku: "Ugh you make it so hard for me to be mad at you..."

Akame: *giggles* "Oh course, darling."  Kuraime however, was still eyeing Tatsumi as he was still being tormented by Lubbock.

Lubbock: "It's an ingenious technique! Great way to distract the enemy. Heh heh..." He began laughing as Tatsumi grabbed him by the shoulders and began shaking him

Tatsumi: "You need to shut your stupid face up!!"

Leone: "Oh there's nothing to be afraid of. You had your fly open for the people, right?"

As the chaos ensued between the assassins, Chelsea stood next to Najenda, watching the chaos in silence.

Najenda: "This is what we're like. It'll be troublesome for you Chelsea."

Chelsea: "That's fine, but... I'm worried. Like how I read in the records, how Sheele and Bulat were... I feel like that kindness is someday going too take the lives of Tatsumi and the others..."

Dairoku: "But it won't." Chelsea was taken by surprised upon spotting Dairoku had broken off from the group and stood on Najenda's other side. The silver-haired boss began grinning.

Chelsea: "And who would you know that?"

Dairoku: "We're killers... We're far from good people... That's true... But it doesn't mean we have to tackle everything with full bluntness and stoic behavior. If that were the case, we wouldn't get to welcome the new Empire we're all fighting for." He said with a smile as he looked at his allies. His eyes landed on Akame, who was laughing from Kuraime struggling heavily to control the situation. "Besides... this optimism and kindness, is not only ours, but Bulat and Sheele's as well. And we promise to bring upon the new Empire, just like what they wanted." He then looked at her.

Chelsea: "You seem awfully optimistic for the infamous Death's Harbinger."

Dairoku: "Too much blind optimism isn't good, that's true. But no optimism, means we already lost this fight. It's why we've gotten as far as we are now."

Chelsea was slightly surprised while Najenda continued smirking. The ginger hair girl, seemed to have slightly understand what he said as she let loose a small smirk.

Chelsea: "If you say so, vampire."

This chapter is slightly shorter but yeah. Though we know the day for Night Raid Vs The Jaegers is coming up. But about the Kurome situation in the last chapter. Should Dairoku do it?
