Y/n: "Mmmm." I groaned while trying to open my eyes and moving. My body ached and it was like I never moved for a month.

My eyes started to open and it was blurry. I scratched my eyes a little, and my vision was a little better. I was looking at the cealing of a room. Actually, it was my room in the capital.

I started to push myself up with my arms to sit up, but it was a little difficult. I managed to sit up and I was using my arms for support. 'Urgh, what happened?' I asked myself. Then, everything came to me.

The trip to Fake Mountain, Esdeath torturing or punishing me for disrespecting her, us fighting those creatures, me saving Esdeath's skin, and using my Imperial Arm. "Oh, now I remember." I said out loud with realization and tired tone.

CAW

I looked to the window and saw the crow staring at me. I sighed and shook my head.

Y/n: "Do you know how long have I been out?" It nodded. "Are you planning on telling me?" It shrugged. I sighed again. "Sure, like you can speak to me."

???: "Actually, if you listen carefully then you can hear everything." A male voice was heard from the crow. My eyes widened, I started to move my head towards the crow slowly.

Y/n: "D-Did you just... talk?" I said nervous while pointing at him.

Crow: "Oh for Death's sake, this human can ki- Wait, did you understood me?" It tilted his head to each side to look at me. I started to pant and get away from the crow. "You-you actually understood me!" He said very excited. I stood up, forgetting about my body ache.

Y/n: "Stay away. Stay AWAY!" I was stumbling in my room, until I tripped on something.

Crow: "He finally started to understand me, and what I get is a stupid reaction. Why did Drako Auditore made the protagonist like that?" The crow sighed. (A/n: *flip off to the crow* My story deal with it!)

Y/n: "How can you talk? Tell me or I'll have to-"

Crow: "To what, Y/n?" The crow flew towards me and landed on the small table right in front of me. "To kill me? If you do, then you won't have anyone to help you on your journey."

Y/n: "What do you mean?" I asked while trying to figure out how can I understand him.

Crow: "Listen kid, I'm not suppose to be here, but the reason I'm here are for two reasons." He showed two fingers with his talons. "One, I'm sort of your guide. I help you on your journey and show you that something bad will happen, or more precisely, death."

Y/n: "Like the one with Sheele." I guessed.

Crow: "Bulat, Ogre, Zanku, the soldiers in the woods. I've been there your entire life since the day you were born. You just never noticed until I appeared more times to warn you." I nodded, remembering everytime this guy appeared. "And the reason why you can understand me is because your Imperial Arm is growing stronger. Also, I am connected to it, in a way." I got confused.

Y/n: "What? Hold up-"

Crow: "Going back to topic," He interrupted me. "The second reason I'm here, is because some dumbass genius decided to make me your guide, and be able to support you because he doesn't want you to suffer all those death." (A/n: *flip off again* Be glad I considered to make you or not at all.) "Anyways, I'm here to help. That's all that matters."

Y/n: "Yeah, already know that. Thanks by the way." The crow nodded. He looked at the door, then turned around and flew towards the window. He landed on the edge of it.

Crow: "Just in case, be ready for the knocking, and also that girl from the bar, she was really sad when she saw you being taken. She went to her home, and stayed there. Today was like nothing happened." My mind went to Kyoko.

Y/n: "Give me a minute or two." I went to my table took two pieces of paper and wrote on them a letter. I went to the crow and he looked at them.

Crow: "What are those?"

Y/n: "This letter is for Kyoko, and the other is for Night Raid." I showed him each of them and told him which is which. "Think you can send them to safety?" The crow looked at them.

Crow: "Do I look like a carrier pigeon to you!?" I rolled my eyes.

Y/n: "Please." He sighed and shook his head.

Crow: "Fine, but you'll owe me an eye for dinner."

Y/n: "I gave you Zwei's body to eat, so we're even." I wrapped each letter to his talons.

Crow: "Touché." I finished wrapping the two letters, and he turned around, but I stopped him.

Y/n: "Wait, do you even have a name?" He turned to me while tilting his head.

Crow: "Nobody ever asked me that, neither I have a name. But names for later, deal with the guest in your door, and I'll be off to deliver your letters." With that, he flew off and my door was knocked. (A/n: Suggestion for his name please. I'm all ears.)

I turned around towards the door and went to it. Once I opened it, it revealed Seryu with Koro in her arms. She had this worried face, but it changed to a releaved one when she saw me.

Seryu: "Y/n! You look better."

Y/n: "I do, and I actually feel like it as well." Suddenly, she let go of Koro, and hugged me on my torso. Then, her body was trembling and there was sobbing sounds.

Seryu: "You had me worried. When I saw you unconscious, I thought you were going to die, but somewhere inside me knew that you were going to be ok." I was shocked at her sudden action, and I was hesitant to hug her back, but eventually did. "I'm glad that you're ok." I smiled and scoffed with amusement.

Y/n: "I'm sorry if I made you like this." She shook her head.

Seryu: "It's ok. You're better, and that's what matters." I lifted my hand and patted her head.

She looked up to me, and her eyes showed the tears that they were also running down her cheeks. I wiped them off, and smiled at her. Suddenly her eyes were looking at mine, and our surrounding slowed down. Those orange eyes had this sort of shine to them that got me entranced.

Then, her eyes started to slowly close and her head was moving towards me simultaneously. My head started to move on its own, and my eyes were closing as well. Mere inches away...

Bols: "Koro! What are you doing outside Y/n's room?" Our eyes widened, we separated as quick as possible, and I looked away with embarrassement. "Oh, Seryu. And Y/n. Glad to see you're still with us." I looked at him, and saw him carrying Koro like Seryu was. Speaking of Seryu, she was covering her face.

Y/n: "Y-Yeah, glad to be ok." I said very nervous. He looked between me and Seryu.

Bols: "Have I interrupted something?"

Y/n&Seryu: "NO!" He flinched and I looked away in embarrassement again.

Bols: "O-k. Anywho, Seryu. Esdeath is at the Meeting Room for your report. And Y/n, you can go with her since you are already awake." I looked at him.

Y/n: "Wait, how long have I been out?"

Bols: "Just a few hours. It's quite impressive that you've taken a hit like that and be up right now." I was confused.

Y/n: "Wait, what hit?" They both looked at me with tilted heads.

Bols: "Don't you remember. You and Esdeath were ambushed by two danger beasts, and you both were fighting them. There was a moment that the one you were fighting was going to Esdeath and you've taken the hit for her."

Y/n: "Did Esdeath told you that?" They both nodded. I took a deep breath, knowing the true story. "What else did she said?"

Seryu: "She said that once they've taken you out, they went after you. But she protected you, just like you did with her, and killed them." I took a deep breath. 'That's not how I remembered it.' I thought. "Don't stress yourself for trying to remember. Come on, we'll report to Esdeath that you're awake, and that Tatsumi was not found." She grabbed my hand and pulled me. I got more confused than before.

Y/n: "Wait, what about him?" We were running the halls towards the Meeting Room, and I felt Koro holding on to my shoulder.

Seryu: "Oh right. Tatsumi escaped, and Wave fought one of the bandits of Night Raid. The wielder of Incursio." I was surprised yet relieved that Tatsumi got away. We were getting to the room, and I heard Wave's scream.

We arrived at the room, and there I saw Esdeath on her chair with head on her hand, Run beside her, and Kurome behind Wave with a candle stick. Poor Wave was tied up on a post while kneeling down on some spiky wood with some stones on his thighs. This was one of Esdeath's torture methods.

Seryu: "Captain!" She salute. "I've searched for Fake Mountain, and there was no sign of Tatsumi, nor of the bandit. Not even Koro couldn't tracked them." Run, Wave, and Kurome's eyes were on me.

Esdeath: "And what about Stylish? Is he still looking." She didn't raised her head to Seryu.

Seryu: "I believe so, but he his doing things on his own, so I haven't heard from him." Esdeath sighed, took a deep breath, laid her head on the back of her chairs. She opened her eyes, then her gaze were on me.

Esdeath: "You're awake?" She asked a little surprise.

Y/n: "Unfortunately, yes I am." Seryu looked at me with a 'really' face. "Guess that Tatsumi is loose."

Esdeath: "Indeed. Which leads me to my question, do you know where he lives or his whereabouts?" I shook my head while shrugging. "Don't you DARE lie to me!" She demanded me.

Y/n: "Oh, I'm sorry your excellence, but I do not have the information in this library, please try in another one." I said with sarcasm. She stood up with anger in her face.

Esdeath: "How dare you!? You are going to tell me, or I'll have to torture the information out of you."

Y/n: "Listen Ice Queen, I don't know where he is or where will he be. He's always on the move. Blacksmith to blacksmith, district to district, trying to get some money for his village. This is all I know."

Run: "But I thought you're both best friends."

Y/n: "We are. We are childhood friends, and we've went seperate ways, but he still managed to find me. I don't even know how." Esdeath kept her glare at me and I've glared at her back. People in the room were looking between us, worried that one of us would strike at each other. Eventually, Esdeath sighed, sat back down, and put her hand in front of her mouth.

Esdeath: "You knew that Tasumi would join the Rebel Army?" She looked at me.

Y/n: "Yes."

Esdeath: "Did he invited you?"

Y/n: "No. And from the way your asking, it seems that he asked you. Didn't he?" I raised and eyebrow. She didn't answer.

Run: "If he ends up being in the Rebel Army, and stands in our way, how should we see him." He looked at Esdeath. She sat there silent for a few seconds, then she spoke.

Esdeath: "I still like Tatsumi. And when I can't have something, it makes me want it even more." Her eyes changed to a determined one. "But the lives of my underlings comes first. I wish for Tatsumi to be taken alive, but if he doesn't comply, then you can bring him dead." Her eyes locked with mine. "No matter what." I answered her with a glare, then turned away and left the room.

Najenda P.o.v

I was at the base of the Rebel Army, and I was hearing one of our soldiers saying that the fort on Lake Gyogan was attacked by a group of Imperial Arm users called the Jaegers, created by Esdeath.

Soldier: "...Me and my men managed to escape because one of them actually works with Night Raid." My eyes widened, and the other leaders turned to me.

Najenda: "One of my group. How did he looked like?"

Soldier: "I didn't see his face, it was hooded."

Najenda: "And his skills of fighting?"

Soldier: "He turned into a lot of birds and his reflexes were impressive." I took a deep breath and sighed. 'Y/n.' I thought because he is the only one that can fight like that.

Leader1: "Do you know of this boy that he mentions." I looked at him then at the others.

Najenda: "I do." I said with a little pride. "And from what I'm hearing, he has infiltrated the capital, and is spying on the enemy."

Leader2: "What makes you so sure that he isn't working for them?" They all had anger and suspicion.

Najenda: "Two reason. One, he spared the lives of this soldiers, and sent us a message about the new group. Second, I know he won't betray us. I have faith in him."

Leader3: "You seem quite fond of this lad. Tell us, what makes him so special, that even you make him look like the savior of the Capital?" I smirked, took a ciggeratte, and light it. I inhaled it, then exhaled the smoke.

Najenda: "Because this boy, may be the one to turn the tied in this war." They were going to talk, but I stopped them with the metalic arm, and kept talking. "Also, his name is Y/n L/n, the wielder of the 'Non-Usable' Imperial Arm, Harvestlion." Their eyes widened, and murmurs started to fill the place.

Leader3: "Impossible! The L/n were erased from the books of history! There is no way that there is a descendant still amongst us!"

Leader1: "And the fact that Harvestlion is used is blasphemy!"

???: "They are not lies." Bulat intervened the meeting. "With all due respect to all of you, but I've seen it with my own eyes how he used it. We've fought side by side against the Four Beasts, and he used it to save the lives of the passengers on the ship, and my life as well." They started to murmur between themselves again. 'Glad to have Bulat by my side.' I thought. Then my thoughts were shattered by the words of one of them.

Leader1: "Then if he is wielding The Cursed Soul, then you should bring him to us so we can experiment on that freak!" I looked at him with wide eyes.

Najenda: "Experiment on him!?" I said with disbelief.

Leader1: "No child could withstand the foul liquid once they were born. We must seek his body, and find why he is so special to have survived such liquid. So, I suggest we bring that freak to us, so we can experiment on-" I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.

Najenda: "How dare you say that!? We are tying to win a war, and I say that he would probally bring an end to it! Yet you think that he should be tested to understand how he can use the Imperial Arm!?"

Leader1: "His body can tell us how we can use this Imperial Arm, so we can make it better on someone else! If his the first one to ever use it, so we must do the experiments on that monster! One live doesn't compare to many!" I shook him.

Najenda: "But one can change the life of many with a single desicion! He is no monster, neither a freak! He is a boy who is fulfilling his role as a member of Night Raid!" I was pulled from behind, and it was Bulat holding me.

Leader1: "Your feelings for this kid is blinding you from your duties, General." He adjusted his shirt. "Bring him to us, dead or alive. If you don't then say goodbye to Night Raid and your head, for treason and insubordination." Bulat let go of me, and I walked away from the leaders.

I was close to the entrance where there stood my new two recruits. Susano, an organic Imperial Arm called 'The Speed of Lighting', which takes the form of a human. He has awoken once I've landed in the camp, and now he is my Imperial Arm. He had blue hair, small horns, and blue eyes.

The other recuit was an auburn hair girl, with light auburn eyes, and always have a lolipop in her mouth called Chelsea. Her Imperial Arm was Gaea Foundation, which is a box with a lot of make up stuff that allows her to take appearance of any living creature.

Chelsea was trying to scare off a crow that was flying over her. The crow looked at me, and flew towards me. I raised my metalic arm for it to land. Once it landed, it showed me its' talon, which it had something wrapped around it. I took it, and saw that there was another one on his other talon. I went to reach it, but it back away, then flew away.

I opened the piece of paper, and it was a small letter.

I don't have much paper, neither time, so I'll keep it brief. Esdeath has a group called the Jaegers which consist of seven Imperial Arm users, including Esdeath. They are powerful, and well trained. I suggest that you guys stay alert and train harder. They won't have mercy with us, but neither will we. Be safe, and stay on the look out.

I finished reading it, and a small smile came to my lips. "Y/n, even from the other side, you still try to help us." I said out loud.

Bulat: "A message from Y/n?" I nodded. "What does it say?"

Najenda: "The same thing the soldier told us about the Jaegers." I looked at the others. "We're leaving." I walked passed them, and they followed.

Chelsea: "Where are we going?" We mounted the Air Manta.

Najenda: "To Night Raid's HQ."

Chelsea: "Hope there are cute boys." She laid on the manta. I shook my head, and started flying towards HQ. 'Stay safe Y/n.' I thought.

============Timeskip============

Y/n P.o.v

It was night, and I was on the balcony of my room, thinking if Tatsumi got back safely. And the thought if the crow delivered the letters.

Also, there was the thought about Esdeath statement from earlier. She really meant that she wants Tatsumi dead if he doesn't accept to be beside her. I sighed in frustration. 'There's too much to think.' I decided to enter the room, and lay down on my bed.

I looked at the cealing for a few minutes. My eyes started to close, until they finally shut, and I went to sleep.

Suddenly, I grabbed the arm of the person on top of me, flipped us over, and now I was on top. I put a hand on the person's chest, and the other was searching on my back to grab the knife, but there wasn't any. Then, I felt something squishy on my hand. I squished it a few times and earned a moan.

My eyes travels to the person's chest, then to the face. It was Esdeath with a small glare, but with a tint of pink on her cheeks. My face heated up and I jumped away from her. She sat up and kept her glare on me.

Y/n: "There might be a punishment for that?" I glared back.

Esdeath: "I thought of it, but I consider that it is not necessary." I looked at her with suspicion.

Y/n: "Why are you in my room?"

Esdeath: "I wanted to have a word with you, but you were asleep when I came in." She had this calm voice that was bothering me.

Y/n: "So you came in without knocking, and started stalking me?" I asked a little irritated.

Esdeath: "Like a predator to its prey, ready for the kill."

Y/n: "Yet the prey became the hunter. In other words, you stalking me failed."

Esdeath: "Actually, I wanted to see how was your reflexes. And it turns out that even in your sleep, you are aware of your surroundings." She sounded a little impressed. A little.

Y/n: "What did you wanted to talk about?" I asked, finally coming back to the topic.

Esdeath: "I wanted to say that tomorrow, your training will be with me until further notice." I looked at her with a really face.

Y/n: "You could've told me in the morning, so why-"

Esdeath: "There's more." She interrupted me. "I want to know how you have become the weilder of Harvestlion."

Y/n: "I don't know. I just used it without even knowing how to use it. Let's just say it was on instinct."

Esdeath: "I see." She looked down. Now that I notice her clothes, they were just a shirt that was bigger than her body, and it covered the essential parts. Even though I still feel the soft, squishy, and big mound in my hand, it's still a little disturbing. My thought were interrupted by the snap of a finger in front of me. "Are you even listening!?" I shook my head and looked at her.

Y/n: "Lost in thought. What were you talking?" She shook her head and sighed in irritation.

Esdeath: "Your so unpredictable." She looked at me again with seriousness. "The things that happened at Fake Mountain never happened. I told the others that-"

Y/n: "I know you lied about it. You made a story that I sacrificed myself to save your skin and that you saved mine. When I actually saved your skin. Twice." I interrupted her with a little anger. "Don't try to bribe me with this compassion of yours because you don't have any."

Esdeath: "Excuse me! I carried you all the way back here without Wave's help. I brought you to your room and I nursed your back. I think a little appreciation would be nice."

Y/n: "Appreciation? Appreciation!? Ha." I said in sarcasm. "Listen Bitchdeath, I don't have to give you appreciation on anything. You've taken my home, you've taken my family, and you've tortured me for something that I call the truth. The truth hurts, and I'm not sorry for hurting your feelings. Learn to-" I was interrupted by a slap on my left cheek. I put my hand on my cheek and glared at Esdeath, which she returned it.

Esdeath: "Your insolence, arrogance, stubborn, and disrespect will be your downfall. You should be the one who should learn your place. I'm your superior, and you owe me respect."

Y/n: "Then show me the respect I deserve as your 'underling'. If I'm considered as one of you." She kept quiet, and I did so. We kept our glare for a few minutes, until she stood up and started to walk away. She stopped and turned to me.

Esdeath: "Just before I forget, I appreciate that you saved me." She opened the door and left while closing it.

My head started to ask questions. Why was she really here? She was acting different, why? She didn't reacted on my calling her Bitchdeath. So many questions, yet so little answers.

I laid back and started to feel tired, until I fell asleep.

============Timeskip============

I was taking a shower to be ready for Esdeath's training. I turned off the water, and the door to my room was opened.

???: "I'm sorry to intrude, but I'm here to take away the sheets of the bed. May I?" It was one of the maids in this place.

Y/n: "Sure, go ahead." I wrapped around a towel on my waist, and started to dry my upper body with another towel. I opened the door, and saw the maid with her back towards me, and she was in looking at the table. "You ok?" She flinched.

Maid: "My apologies." I went to my bed and put on my boxers, then my pants. "Is just that this knife has some engravings surrounding the star that caught my attention." I got confused.

Y/n: "It does? What does it say?" I started to put on my shirt.

Maid: "It says: 'Chansu wa tora reru, atae rarena.' It's weird." When she told me, those words were so familiar. I then realized...

Y/n: "I know those words. They are in a different language that my mother used to tell me. In our common language, it says: 'Chances are taken, n-"

Maid: "Not given." She interrupted me and I was frozen in place. *Y/n?* I heard her whisper.

I turned around slowly. When I finally saw the person who was standing there, my eyes widened. The dark brown hair tied in a ponytail, her hands holding the knife, and those e/c eyes looking at my own. It was her. It was...

Y/n: "M-Mother?"
