POV: Y/n

When I reached the top of the stairs my power boost ended, and my energy way sapped. Dammit, I thought I was closer. I thought resting by the door. Just a few more moments. I then heard someone running up the stairs. "KING! STYLISH IS HERE!" The man ried running past me, "Should I tell him it was a failure?" "Failure!" Shin shouted, while I assume he killed the informant, "Y/n! Get out here!" "Damn, I was hoping to rest a little longer." I said walking out from behind the door. "One of us will die here today." I said as we got into our stances, "AND IT WON'T BE ME!" Shin yelled. We stood still for moments, awaiting each other to make the first move, but Shin spoke. "You're not the Y/n of long ago."

"Rest in peace sensei." I said as my adopted sister and I knelt before my teacher's grave. "Don't worry about me," I said to my teacher, "I know the Hokuto Shinken. And besides, I have to keep Julia safe." We then got up and started walking. "Times are rough Julia," I started, "The Empire has done bad things to innocent people, I have heard of a Revolutionary army, and I believe joining them will allow us to give the people a better world." I then grabbed my bag and we walked toward the outskirts of the town.

Before we could leave the town, Shin walked up with a group of Imperial guards. "Sorry my friend," Shin started, "But power is the only factor. What an area we are in!" "Hearing you say that makes me sick!" Julia said. "Julia..." Shin started, "I love you more everyday. I love everything that's strong and beautiful." "SHIN STOP!" I said trying to keep the guards from attacking me and Julia, "Remember what Sensei taught us! We should never fight!" Shin then walked up to the tombstone we made for Kenshiro. "Tsk." Shin said kicking and destroying the tombstone, "I forgot the foolish blabbering of that old fool a long time ago!!"

-Present-

"Y/n," Shin said attempting to strike me, "I'll send you to Hell again. You cannot counter my attacks." I then grabbed Shins wrist as he stuck at me. "You're really not the same Y/n." Shin said with fear in his eyes. "Why?" "Obsession!" I cried breaking his arm. "What changed me was the obsession you taught me. Give up, you've lost. I will never forgive you for Julia's death!" Shin then scratched at me, slashing my chest slightly. "Are these the limits of your obsession?" Shin taunted. "Shin," I started getting into a stance, "I understand all of your techniques." "I WON'T LET YOU MOCK ME!!!!" Shin shouted as he attempted to strike me. I simply dodged each of his strikes. "I see you have gotten better at dodging." he said as his left shoulder plate shattered. "Don't worry, I missed your vital points intentionally," I said, "I want to enjoy this!"

I then felt a killing intent coming from behind me. I then grabbed my would-be assailant's face, killing him. "Maybe you forgot." I said with the guys face still in my fingertips, "But I'm still an assassin. Even if you never made a sound, I won't be surprised from behind." I then tossed the guy ahead of me. He stumbled forward, his face split in two, and his brian fell to the floor. "Nanto Gokuto Ken! [Prison Slaughter Fist]" Shin said as we jumped in the air and kicked past each other. Went we landed I turned around to see Shin. "That won't work a second time." I taunted, "Hiei Ken! [Flying Defense Fist]" "I think Julia will be grateful that you will be joining her!" Shin said as I was enraged. "Y... Y/n..." Shin said full of fear. "Shin!" I said wrathful, "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!"

Shin then charged at me. "DIE Y/N!!!!!" Shin shouted as I lifted up my palm blocking him from hitting me, but his fingers went through my hand. I then threw a punch attempting to kill Shin, but he blocked it with his palm and I completely devastated his palm and continued forward to hit his chest. "ATATATATATATATA!!" I cried punching him in the chest, and into a flagpole on the roof. "Ho...how..." Shin asked, looking down seeing wounds forming a cross in his chest. "Jūji Zan! [Cross Slash]" I replied as he got up. "Well, I'll get to rest with Julia." Shin said walking towards the edge, "How long do I have?" "Since I hit your pressure points in the shape of the bloody cross," I started raising one finger towards him, "you have one minute until you die with your emblem."

"Too bad you won't be the one taking my life." Shin said as he looked over the edge of the building. "I have a gift for you, go down a floor, take the first left then it's the big room at the end. I also have a warning; the headhunter is coming, and brethren beware the drinking gourd." "What do you mean?" I asked waking to my former friend. "Where's the fun in that, I'll see you in Hell, Y/n" Shin said as he jumped off the roof to the ground below. "SHIN!!!" I cried seeing him fall.

I then ran to find Shin's body, as I knelt down to lift him up and bury him I sensed someone behind me. "Freeze dirtbag." the man said, "Sir," I started turning around to see a man with reddish brown hair, a pair of goggles in his hair, a long orange overcoat, not longer than a trench coat but longer than a regular jacket, over a white t-shirt, green pants and black shoes while holding a shotgun, "I am no threat, I wish to bury this man, who fought honorably before jumping to his death." "So you're an Imperial?" the man asked, as I walked near him. "I am Y/n of Night Raid, and you are?" I asked in his ear, "I am Bat, leader of this sect of the Revolutionary Army," The man I now know as Bat answered, "when we saw King's men running out we sent some of our troops out to kill them and leave since they reported Dr. Stylish entering the town. I had the rest of us rebels leave for their safety." "Good, I will bury him and leave a few minutes later." I said shaking the Bat's hand as he left.

When I entered the room Shin told me about, I noticed a skull on his mantle. After picking up the skull, I noticed a note underneath it and read it.

If you're reading this then I have died, likely by your hand, I both want to curse you and thank you. So in a way to make up to you, this skull, belonged to the asshole who killed Julia, I know you collect skulls, so maybe this will give you some closure. After the asshole killed her and you blacked out, I killed him, and took his skull for you. I know you have questions about my warning, but you will need to find them on your own.

"So Shin did care, I guess I can simply break this skull." I said destroying the skull in my hands. "I'll need to leave here before the guards show up. Can't have them taking me in, that won't work to well." I then left the building, upon leaving the town, I saw a few Imperial guards running in, as if they were going to take the town over again, however one of them had a large tank and a flamethrower on his back. Upon seeing that I ran as fast as I could to return to HQ.

"Y/n!" Tatsumi said, "You're back!" "Yeah," I said throwing the letter and my sword down, "Where's Najeda, I have a report to give." "Debriefing room, mind if I look at the letter?" Tatsumi responded. "I don't care." I responded finding Najeda, "Najeda, I have some news for you." "What is it?" Najeda asked, "A neighboring village that supported the Empire," I started, "Has fallen by my hand, somewhat indirectly, I killed it's leader, Shin, also known as King." "Why did you do this?" Najeda asked, placing her mechanical fist on her chin. "Personal reasons," I started, "He was the one who killed my sister and left me for dead. That's how I gained these seven scars on my chest." "I see," Najeda stated, "I shall inform the Revolutionary Army at once." "Slight problem," I interrupted, "as I left I noticed it looked like the Imperial Army was sending troops in to destroy the town, one of them appeared to be a member of the Incineration Squad. I talked to the local Revolutionary Army leader, Bat, he said he was getting all the people out for safety." "I see. Hopefully the people have left and are safe." Najeda said as Tatsumi entered the room followed by the other members of Night Raid.

"Hey Y/n," Tatsumi started, "You mind telling us who Julia is?" "I guess I can't keep that hidden forever." I started, sitting down in a chair, "To put it simply, Julia was my adopted sister. She was killed by the Empire in front of my own eyes." When I said that I could see Bulat and Akame looked distraught. "Can we know how she died?" Akame asked. "Yea," I started, I guess it's fair for you guys to know, I'll also tell you how I got these scars."

"Shin, are you nuts!" I asked Shin after seeing him destroy our teacher's grave. "I've nothing to fear now that he's dead. Now Julia is MINE!" Shin cried as we prepared to fight. "INSANE!!" I shouted, getting into a stance. Shin then jumped into the air, "You're no match for me!!!" He shouted. "You're insane!!" I shouted jumping into the air as well. We then kicked past each other, "NANTO GOKUTO KEN!" Shin shouted as we flew past each other.

We then landed on the ground, and I felt my elbows and knees go numb. "Huaar" I cried as my elbows and knees started bleeding and I fell to the ground in pain. "Y...y/n?" Julia cried as she started running towards me. "A coward like you can never beat me." Shin said placing his foot on my head, "There's a deadly difference between us. Ambition... obsession! Men, help him up." As Shin said that a few Imperial guards picked me up and held me on my feet. "Ambition is power." Shin said ripping my [F/C] leather jacket open. "And you don't have it." "Y/n!!" Julia cried as a guard grabbed her to keep her from intervening. "Julia," Shin said, grabbing my head, lifting it up, "Tell me that you love me." "In..." Julia started, "In your dreams! If you kill Y/n, I die too." "Oh really..." Shin said lifting his index finger, "you'd go that far?" After Shin said that he pressed his finger onto my chest, sending it into me. "GAAAAAHH!" I screamed, full of agony. "How many times until he dies?" Shin asked as he repeated the process twice. "Y...y/n!" Julia cried. "You're the only one who can stop me." Shin said, still torturing me, if that is what you could call it, "One word from you if enough, I won't force you. Tell me of your own free will." S...shin." I said in pain, "If you want to kill me, get it over with. Julia... don't die for me... you have to keep on living, for the betterment of others."

"Very well." Shin said, plunging three fingers into my chest to kill me, "I'll finish you off! I've wanted to kill you for a long time now." "AHH!" I cried, feeling his fingers enter me. "DIE!!" Shin said, malice in his voice. "WAIT!!" "Hmm?" Shin said, removing his hand. "Julia Don't!" I cried, trying to keep my sister from making a mistake. "I... I love you..." Julia said in despair. "What?" Shin said, "I can't hear anything. You think that's enough for me?" "I... I love you!!" Julia said, her eyes full of tears, "You heard THAT Y/n?" Shin laughed, "And she hated me!! Amazing isn't it? The way women change their minds. Drop him." I then feel to the floor, only to watch as Shin and Julia started walking away. "Y/n, I'm sorry!" Julia said, crying as she drew a guards sword and attempted to swing at Shin, only to be stopped as a guard in weird white armor with a strange red spear stabbed Julia killing her immediately. "JULIA!" I cried as I blacked out.
