Chapter 12.5: Kill the Past [Stan Lee Rest in Peace]

Alright, I'm gonna warn y'all before I get this started. This is gonna be a long chapter. At the point I decided to write this segment the chapter is at about 3,500 words and maybe a quarter of the way done at the best [which makes this by far my longest chapter, even longer than my DDLC one-shot, which was about 4,900 words.] [It wasn't at best, but it was at the time] I have never used the word count to judge the quality of my writing, I instead use the word count to judge the length of the chapter, and my idea of length has changed. I once split a chapter from 3,000 words into two parts, but that was literally on my first book, so I didn't know what I was doin' at the time. I also will mention that while writing this chapter, Stan Lee passed away at 94, [I think his 95th birthday was close] and even though he wasn't one of the people who created Wolverine, I'm writing this in his honor. I am noting this now, I have taken some liberties in my interpretation, I've added characters and changed minor ones for character relations, and added some Teigu, and added upon [minor] existing ones [turns out there is a bow teigu that has a confusing name]. Some ideas will stick, but very few will, meaning this chapter isn't required to understand the further narrative. Also, side note, too many characters in this chapter have a name starting with an L. That was an accident and I'm too lazy to change it, cause I don't want to make too many new characters.

ALSO, I am correctin' one HUGE mistake made in the previous paragraph. Stan Lee was 95 when he died, his 96th birthday would have come on December 28th, 2018, which also was my birthday, and I found that out on my birthday.

POV: None

An older, bearded man is sleeping inside a rich looking carriage, occasionally muttering no while tossing and turning in his sleep, as if he were reliving a traumatic event. While the man sleeps, a small group of bandits walk up ot the carriage talking quietly amongst themselves. While the bandits struggle to release the horse, they failed to realise that the man had left from the other side of the carriage. "Hey, what are you guys doing?" The old man asked as the bandits jumped back and one drew a small gun "We're robbin' ya dumbass!" the bandit with the gun said pointing it at him. "Look, you punks don't know what you doing do you?" the man asked rubbing his nose. "If you wanted a ride you could've asked and I would have given you guys one for free." "Shut up dumbass!" the bandit shouted, "Ain't nothin' free these days! Just die and we'll be on our way!" As the bandit said that he shot the old man in the chest, causing him to fall on the ground. As the bandits were busy, they failed to hear a *SNIKT* and notice that the old man had gotten back up and now had bone claws protruding from his hands. He ran into the bandit with the gun, stabbing him in the gut and slamming him into the ground. As the other two bandits ran in to help their dying ally the old man ran into them piercing them both in the heart. After traveling to a restroom, the old man removed his shirt and jacket, revealing a muscular physique for an older man. He stood over the sink, struggling to push the bullets out of his chest. He then went out to his carriage and grabbed an extra shirt from the back and threw it on. "Damn. I'll need a new shirt soon." the old man said before getting into his carriage and riding off.

A few hours later the same old man arrived at his on home, which was a fairly large shack, and sat down to finish resting. "Mr. Logan." came a quiet voice from deeper in the building. "What do you want kid." The old man, Logan, said with a deep growl, "You have a new request." said a young pale man walking around the corner, "This time a noble heading to a funeral from the just outside the Capital." "Why does this client want me?" Logan asked, "There are other carriages in the Capital." "Not sure, but the note was for you." the pale person said sullenly. "Alright, I'll head out in a little while." Logan said looking for his cleaned clothes. "Where the hell are my clothes?" "I washed them last night, and repaired them." the pale man said pulling out a strange piece of steel, resembling the broken blade of a katana, "What is this?" "Nothing." Logan said taking it back, "Quit snooping through my shit." "It's not snooping when it falls out." the pale man said. "Dammit Tamashi." Logan said getting out of his seat, "I'm heading out." "It looks like a piece from a teigu." Tamashi said in an attempt to stop him from leaving. "We can talk about it later." Logan retorted. "If you get caught with that," Tamashi said reaching for Logan's arm, "you're execution will be guaranteed." "I. Said. Later." Logan said ripping his arm away and leaving.

About an hour later Logan arrived at an Imperial checkpoint on the border of the Capital, as he approached the small tower a young man with a man with blue hair walked out and greeted him. "Hey Logan, move on through." the soldier said waving him on. "Thanks Kurrent." Logan said as he carried on his way past the young man with auburn eyes as he drew his black short sword for training. After a few hours Logan was slumped outside a tree drinking from a bottle when a lady approached him in a cloak. "Mr. Logan, may I ask you a question?" the lady asked nervously, "I charge 2 gold per kilometer inside the Capital," Logan replied, "five gold for crossing the border, and 5 gold for each kilometer past that." "That's not what I meant," she said hesitantly, "I need you to help someone, as Y/n." This struck a nerve in Logan. An evil gaze could be seen in his eyes as he crushed the bottle in his hands. "I have not used that name in over a century." He responded in a silent, angry voice. "And I suggest it stays that way." "Please, there's someone like you who needs your help." the lady said as she reached for Logan. "Leave me alone or I will kill you." Logan said as his client approached him and the lady ran off in a hurry. "Who was that?" the client asked. "Some crazy person." Logan responded walking back to his carriage, "You ready to return home."

After dropping off his client, Logan rode through the Capital and made it past the checkpoint with no problems. "I don't know why you didn't help her Y/n." Came a voice from inside the carriage. "Shut up." Logan replied carrying on his way. "Brother, you've been alive for over a century due to ingesting those potions we made." the voice said as a spectral man with purple hair appeared beside Logan in the carriage. "Go away Mudai." Logan said as they approached his house. "You used to be so powerful." Mudai said, "You used to help everyone who needed it. Even with the Hokuto." "That was before, when we stood a chance." Logan said as he jumped off the carriage. "But you were the one to never give up." Mudai responded appearing in front of him. "AND THEN I WATCHED THE ONE PERSON I LOVED DIE IN FRONT OF ME!" Logan yelled throwing a punch through Mudai. "What if I told you the person you were asked to help was one of us." Mudai responded with a smirk. "The Gravekeepers have been dead for centuries, not a single one remains." Logan said as he entered his home and Mudai disappeared.

"Logan, what was happening outside?" Tamashi asked as he threw a letter on the counter. "Nothing." Logan responded, "another client?" "Yes, back in the Capital." Tamashi responded "but about the teigu part, why do you have it?" "Memories." Logan responded as he clenched his fist. "From what," Tamashi responded, "You never served the Empire." "That's enough for now." Logan said. "Why is this a serious topic that you don't want to answer." Tamshi said as Logan looked at the paper. "I'll be heading to the Capital first thing in the morning." Logan said seeing the inn listed in the letter. "The boy means well." Mudai said appearing before his younger brother. "He may," Logan said, "but he's not ready." "Who's not ready?" Tamashi asked walking into the room. "None of your damn business kid." Logan said as Mudai moved between the two. "Brother, you should trust him." Mudai said as Logan slammed the door shut. "I will, eventually."

The next day Logan passed the checkpoint again to the surprise of Kurrent, "What are you doing here again Mr. Logan?" The young soldier asked. "I've gotten another client inside the Capital," Logan responded, "I don't know where I need to take my client though." "Well, go on through," Kurrent said with a smile, "Stay safe on your travels." "I will Kurrent." Logan said as he carried on to the inn. When he got to the inn he checked the letter to see what room his client was in. "Room 103." Logan said getting off and walked inside the building, looking for that room. When he found the room he knocked on the door only for it to be opened by an Imperial soldier. "What are you doing here?" the soldier asked pointing a halbird at Logan, who reflexively threw his arms up in defense. "I was told to come here in a letter," Logan responded reluctantly, "I run a carriage service and the person who rented this room requested my service." "What's your name?" the soldier asked still holding his halbird at Logan. "I'm Logan." he responded as the halbird was lowered and they walked in the room. Logan then saw the dead body of a blonde female lay bloodied in a chair her arms covered in cuts. "What happened here?" Logan asked, seeing the body. "Suicide from the looks of it." the soldier said as Logan left. Before he left, he noticed a small metallic finger with some wiring coming out of the back where it was cut off. "What the fuck is this?" Logan asked pocketing the finger.

When Logan got back to his carriage, he left the in a slight hurry. Only a minute later a man in a black Imperial uniform flagged him down. When Logan stopped the Imperial officer hopped into the seat next to him. The officer had brown hair, green eyes, and his black uniform turned out to be an officers duster. On his side was the hilt of a short sword with a chain attached to it and dangling by his side making a slight clanging sound with every step. "Hey there Mr. Logan, or should I call you, Wolverine?" the officer said with a slightly southern accent. "Who the fuck are you?" Logan asked the man. "The name's Pierce, I'm an Inquisitor for the Empire." The Inquisitor responded, "She found ya yet, Laione? Ya see, I ain't lookin' for you, Wolvie. She took somethin' of mine while I wasn't lookin'. Well, somethin' I'm responsible for. Blonde lady, nice rack, lookin' for you? Ring any bells?" "No, it doesn't." Logan responded while clenching his fist. "I know who you are Wolvie," Pierce said quickly, "You were one of the greatest fighters in the Jägers, in all the Empire. Hell, you were the only Jäger to not use a teigu. But ya disappeared right before the final battle." "What do you want?" Logan responded with hatred in his voice. "A little cooperation." Pierce responded. "I'm a fan by the way, my old teacher, Seryu said she knew ya, and apparently she had quite the thing for ya as well." "That was the past," Logan responded, "and it better stay that way. Now leave. Next time you harass me, I may not be so docile next time." "Alright, I'll leave ya be." Pierce said as he jumped off of the carriage and walked away, "Let me know if you find her." Logan simply growled as he rushed away back home. "What's wrong brother?" Mudai asked appearing right next to his brother in the front seat of the carriage. "That was an Imperial Inquisitor," Logan said in response, "they are some of the strongest the Empire has to offer." "And he's after who you should help." Mudai said, "What are you going to do?" "I don't know." Logan answered as they rushed past the checkpoint, startling Kurrent.

Mudai had disappeared by the time Logan had made it back home. "Logan, I have a package for you, sender is unknown." Tamashi said as Logan walked inside the building. "Great, junk mail." Logan responded walking past the package. "What does the Owl symbol mean?" Tamashi asked as Logan turned around. "What Owl symbol?" Logan said full of malice while taking the package and seeing the seal from all those years ago. "What does that mean?" Tamashi asked. "You ever hear of the Revolutionary Army?" Logan asked as he grabbed a bottle of whiskey. "The army that died over one hundred years ago?" Tamashi said in disbelief, "They had a faction of assassins," Logan answered taking a large swig, "We were called Night Raid. I guess you could say I was their Ace. Back then I went by Y/n, and the last client knew that. " "I don't believe you." Tamashi said as a low rumbling could be heard from outside followed quickly by the the sound of shouting. "Damn," Logan said, "Take the package and hide." "Did something go wrong with the job?" Tamashi said as he was shoved into a hidden room. "It was wrong from the start." Logan said leaving the building. When he stepped outside, Inquisitor Pierce was out there waiting for him. "You need to turn around asshole," Logan said throwing his bottle down on the ground, "this is private property." "That it is Wolvie," Pierce responded, "private land now owned by the Empire. Following the death of Mr. Lee." "Damn," Logan said, "Stan died, how long ago?" "24 hours, damned shame, died at the ripe ol' age of 95. Not many make it there these days." Pierce responded, "but that ain't why I'm here. I'm here for the girl." "What girl?" Logan asked. "The one from the inn." Pierce responded. "There's no girl here," Logan answered, "and there wasn't one there." "So ya did go to the inn." Pierce said with a smirk. "Because I was called there." Logan responded, "I arrived and the blonde woman was dead. Your men can prove that." "The blonde woman." Pierce said with a sigh, "So ya met Laione and didn't tell me? I'm hurt, you didn't kill her did ya?" "No," Logan responded, "Why would I make a death look like a suicide?" "I don't know." Pierce laughed, "I do you would have contacted me. Like I asked." As Pierce said that he lifted up his right hand, revealing his forearm to be mechanical, and missing a finger. "Ya see," Pierce said with a grin and reaching for his sword, "you ain't the only one with unique abilities."

Pierce was about to draw his sword when a metal pipe hit him in the back of the head. As Pierce fell, Logan saw something he never thought he would see again. Her, only younger. Behind Pierce's unconscious body was a small raven haired female with red eyes. "YOU!" Logan said as the young girl started to swing a pipe at him. "Y/n," Mudai said appearing between the two, "we need to help her." "Tamashi," Logan said as he walked outside, "take our unwanted guest on the ground somewhere for the vultures." "And you will?" Tamashi, who was wearing a large hat and long sleeves, asked as he walked to the unconscious body, "I'll see what's up with the little Akame." Logan answered as Mudai crouched in front of the girl. "Y/n," Mudai responded, "this isn't Akame, her name is Laura." "Alright," Logan responded, "Tamashi, come back quick, we'll be leaving." "Alright, Logan." Tamashi responded grabbing Pierce and a shovel, "But I'll want an explanation!" "Come on Laura, let's go inside." Mudai said as they walked inside the house.

"So how come she can see you?" Logan asked Mudai as Laura ate through the food Logan gave her. "I can reveal myself to any Gravekeeper." Mudai answered "Especially when they are blood relatives." "What do you mean blood relative?" Logan asked as Laura gave him a strange look. "What?" Logan said staring at the young girl in front of him. "Mudai, does she speak?" "She speaks uncle Y/n." said another female who appeared behind Mudai. "Lili, you haven't aged a day." Logan said with a smile. "Because I've been dead for over 100 years." Lili said as the red eyed Laura looked at Logan. "What?" He asked as he opened the package with the Night Raid seal, "Does she speak? Let's see what her mother wanted to send me." "That wasn't her mother." Lili answered. "You knew her well." "I haven't known anyone well in over 100 years." Logan responded. "She wondering the same thing as well." Lili responded, "And so am I at this point." Logan simply looked in the newly opened box, revealing a few files, manga, a strange book, a black device about the size of a palm, and a small wooden horse. "How long is that damn kid gonna take!?" Logan said standing up as a low rumbling could be heard.

Tamashi had just gotten and thrown down Pierce into a ditch as he turned around to dig a small hole. As he sticks the shovels in the ground he sees a large cloud of dust approach from the north. "You're fucked kid." came a voice from behind him. As Tamashi turned around, an armored fist met him in the face, knocking him out instantly. "But it looks like the cavalry's arrived." Pierce said as a cloud of dust dissipated around him. "You take too long Pierce." came a female voice as Pierce turned around. "I told ya," Pierce responded as a black horse with piercing red eyes [pun semi intended] walked up to him, "I was gonna try and turn him to our side. But we have a backup here. Cage him up!"

Logan's eyes grew sharp as the rumbling got heavier, knocking come bottles off the wall. Logan then realized what was causing the rumbling. "Stay inside." Logan said as he walked outside. As he stepped outside he saw a small battalion of Imperial soldiers riding down with a few small carriages large enough to carry a prison under maximum security. As it got closer, Logan noticed the the soldiers has an 'S' imprinted to their armor, and Pierce was riding in the front on a jet black horse with piercing red eyes, with other soldiers and mercenaries riding on different colored horses. As the soldiers approached Pierce jumped off and met with Logan. "Where is Tamashi?" Logan asked with a scowl. "The same hole that ya 'tempted to bury me in." Pierce answered as the other soldiers left their horses and drew a crossbow, rifle or a melee weapon. As Logan charged towards Pierce, a Imperial guard tackled Logan to the ground only to be stabbed by bone claws killing him instantly. "Got someone to take in the dead?" Logan asked retracting his blades. As he said that Pierce raised his hand, causing a small group of soldiers to enter the house in a tight formation and a remaining group of Imperial guards used the butts of their rifles and crossbows to beat Logan into the ground. "Seeing you this way Wolverine," Pierce said as he lowered his hand, "it breaks my heart." "I'll rip it right out of your chest fuck-stick." Logan responded standing up, as screams could be heard coming from inside the building.

A few seconds later the door opens as Laura stands on the outside, holding something in her arms. "That'a girl." Pierce said as he stretched out his arm towards her. Laura then kicked the object in her hands towards Pierce, revealing it to be the head of one of Imperial soldiers. "Laura," Pierce said as he started backing up, "Stay where ya are an' ya'll get to see yer friends again." "KILL HER!" Shouted an Imperial soldier as they all fired at her. "STOP!" Pierce commanded as the soldiers kept firing. "The Emperor said alive or dead." the commander responded as Laura stepped outside. As Laura stepped closer two bone claws slowly emerged from her hands and red kanji was imprinted up her left arm leading to the corresponding eye, which was black with a now vibrant green iris. How, Logan thought as he started at the eye and kanji, how does she have those, that kanji belonged to Murasame, not to mention the bone claws. Even if she is my daughter, Akame died in our fight with the Empire, to that ice teigu user, so she can't be mine. How the hell did they find other Gravekeepers? "Laura," Pierce said backing away from her, "NO! NO!!" Logan looked up and met Laura's eyes, as they met a feeling of mutual respect and understanding was seen, as well as fear and concern. Laura then changed her attention to the guard that fired a crossbow at her. As she ran up, she delivered a single slash, not entirely killing him, but the curse marks on her wrist were seen to cover the knight as the poison of Murasame killed him and the arrow wound disappeared. "She fuckin' heals!" Pierce shouted, "And she kills with a single cut!"

Laura then ran up and started to slaughter the knights that attacked her. After fighting for a few soldiers one of them managed to pin her against a wall before being kicked in the balls and dying from the poison as *SNIKT* a bone claw came from Laura's foot. As Laura ran from the soldiers body a small harpoon was fired into her chest and started to drag her back to the soldier who fired it. As Laura was pulled back she pulled the harpoon through her chest and used her claws to cut the rope before throwing it at the soldier's head, killing him instantly. Another soldier ran up and grappled her, only to be killed by Logan who cut his head off. As the two slowly cut down the soldiers, Logan noticed that one of them was different from the others. He wore a familiar suit of white and silver armor with piercing golden eyes. "How did you get that?" Logan asked the man in the suit as he recognized Incursio. "I'd say it's an heirloom," the man inside Incursio stated as he walked closer, "but I hate my ancestor who wielded it last, but the weapon itself is a wonder." Logan then ran up and slashed at the man in Incursio, not even landing a scratch. As Logan was caught in a grapple, a young blonde girl with orange eyes ran in and bit into Logans neck. Laura then ran towards the girl to kill her, but was blocked by Incursio and sent her blades through his right forearm. "I see a stab can get through." the man said tossing Laura away, "Dorothea, you need to leave back to the good Doc." "Awwwww," the blonde responded getting off Logans neck Logan managed to headbutt the soldier who had him in a grapple before crushing in his skull, which instantly killed him. Logan then ran towards Laura, grabbing her before returning to his carriage and tossing her inside. Logan then jumped into the driver's seat and ushered his horse into fleeing as the soldiers jumped on her horses and followed them.

As Logan made it farther away, Mudai appeared beside him in the other seat, looking back and seeing the following soldiers not that far behind them, the one wearing Incursio leading them. "Do you have a plan brother?" Mudai asked in a relaxed manner. "Yeah," Logan responded as he saw a small cliff that looked like it could barely support the weight of the carriage, "Hold on!" As he said that the carriage rolled off the cliff and landed on the other side, continuing it's trajectory as the edge of both cliffs started to crumble and fall. The screams of Imperial soldiers could be heard as some of them failed to either make the jump or stop before falling after running past the man in Incursio. "That should give us some time." Logan said as they kept on the path towards a small village just outside the boundaries of the Empire. "Who are you?" Logan asks as he opens a shutter to the carriage interior. Laura scoffed and looked away, "You know who she is." Mudai answered, "I don't know who she is!" Logan responded as Laura started staring daggers towards Logan. "Doesn't she remind you of anyone?" Mudai asked.

"Bring me the tracker." the man in Incursio said as he was covered in a vale of smoke. "We may just be able to find them yet." "Inquisitor Pierce!" one of the men shouted as Pierce appeared behind the smoke, "What should we tell the Emperor?" "I never said we were turning back." Pierce said as they made their way back towards the shack. After the group of soldiers made it to the shack, a small group of them dragged Tamashi out of one of the locked carriages. "What the hell do you want?" Tamashi said while coughing up blood after being beaten by the Imperial guards who were watching him. "Where's the girl kid?" Pierce asked as he grabbed Tamasi by the hair. "How the fuck should I know?" Tamashi answered after coughing blood on the ground. "Leave nothing behind!" Pierce shouted, "We'll find a trace! One way or another." "I won't tell you shit!" Tamashi said as Pierce punched him with his mechanical hand. "Oh ho ho boy," Pierce said with a smirk, "I think ya will. Make him want to talk." "Yessir!" the guards said as Pierce walked into the building. While walking inside he found a box on a counter. Upon closer inspection of this box, it was shown to have a broken seal resembling an owl. Pierce scowled at this sight, "Get me the boy!" Pierce shouted, "NOW!" After a few moments the guards watching Tamashi dragged him into the room. "I told you," Tamashi said weakly, "I'm not saying anything." "Then why did you leave us?" Pierce said holding Tamashi up by his shirt. "If I ain't mistaken, ya used to work for my team. We were the good guys. Ya wanted to find The Wolverine just as much as any of us. And ya found him. Help the good guys one more time, help us find The Wolverine." "I. Will. Not. Help. You." Tamashi said low on breath. "Beware the light, Tamashi." Pierce said with a smirk, "That's what your mamma said right? Beware the light. Look boy, Wolverine ain't the one we're after. He's a relic of the past, an old, decrepit fossil. The girl, however, is a business mistake, R&D gone bad. Now, we cain't have things like her runnin' around hurtin' people. So, ya gonna help us or what? We'll even give you back your old toy." Pierce then held out a silver item that resembles a closed eye, getting an evil glare from Tamashi. "I got rid of that damned item for a reason." Tamashi said spitting blood on Pierce, only to have two guards remove his hat and throw him into the sunlight. Pierce simply smirked as Tamashi screamed out in agony, crying for his pain to be ended.

After being on the road for a few hours, Logan decided to hide the carriage in the woods deep off the path to understand what he was getting into. As he looked at the small device, video started, confusing him ever so slightly. "My name is Laione," said a feminine voice over the device, "I am a nurse and for ten years I have worked at Stylish Industries just outside the Capital. I'm going to show you what was happening here at Stylish Industries. What happens here is not moral, and unknown by the major populace." The screen then turned around to reveal a young blonde with golden eyes, "That's why they came to the Capital, no one cares here, not anymore." The screen then changed to focus on a group of children, all aged maybe between the ages of 5 and 15. They wore rags and held torn, patchwork toys. The children slept on dirty mats in rooms with exposed drains and hoses behind bars and they were watched over by heavily armed Imperial soldiers with some missing limbs. "The children here were born here in the building, they were not the first, those born here never leave. They've never seen the sun or the ocean, the rain or snow, or any of God's creatures. These children don't exist. There is no paperwork about them, no names aside from the ones they were given here." The screen then changed to a still of a room covered with blood, before showing a room with tubes and magnifying devices, and in the background an image of a giant ice crystal, encased inside was a raven haired girl, wearing black and wielding a broken katana, held in an attacking position. On her skin were the same markings as Laura. After that was an older woman with pink hair. These images caused Logan's face to fill with anger and hate. "These children were born in the wombs of Western girls, who can no longer be found. Their fathers were a special seed, obtained from the first test subject, along with the special eggs gathered from the old lady shown before you. I tried to treat them like people, only to be shot down by my superiors. I was told they were part of a medical study. But like all things in the Empire, it was a lie." The screen then showed a series of children sparring one-on-one with heavily armored Imperial soldiers, proving to be powerful weapons. "They thought we workers were stupid, and that the flames of the Revolution had died out." The screen then changed to show a set of manga, each titled with Night Raid. "When I was a child, my Grandma told me of a group of warriors known as Night Raid. This is a business. They are making weapons, soldiers, or some hybrid of the two. Xengu. These babies are a mix of teg-" The screen had died, from a lack of light. "Damn." Logan muttered as Mudai appeared before him. "How far do we have to take her?" Mudai asked. "I thought you would know." Logan responded, "We're taking her to Wakoku, in the Soukai Nation. Or at least as close to the sea as we can get. Who is she?" "She's your daughter, Y/n." Mudai answered as Logan adjusted himself in his seat, "Stylish has your genetic code." "Not just mine," Logan growled, "They got Lin too." "So they took my daughter as well." Mudai said with sadness, "I guess nothing can be done about it now." "Yeah," Logan responded closing his eyes, "I'm gonna try to sleep." "Then why hasn't she joined us?" Lili asked as she appeared behind Logan. "I don't give a fuck right now," Logan growled as he rolled over, "I'm trying to get some goddamn sleep, and you tow should let me."

POV: Logan's mind

"Let's go Akame!" I shouted as we ran up to fight the ice teigu user. "Let's go Y/n!" Akame said with a slight smile. "We'll do this for Sheele!" I shouted as I rushed in aiming at the pressure points of the fighter in front of us. The fighter managed to dodge all of my attacks when Akame jumped in swiping at the fighter, only to have her attack get countered towards me. "Y/n, I'll have to use my Trump Card!" Akame said jumping back. "Are you sure?" I asked as the ice fighter charged at me, piercing me with a rapier as I felt ice puncture my guts. "Y/N!" Akame cried as I stumbled back. "I'll be fine." I responded, coughing up blood, "I think this will help." As I said that I drank one of my potions. I felt a warm feeling inside of me as all of my internal wounds healed. I then smirked and dashed towards the ice fighter, jabbing and punching at every opening I saw. "Did you think that would work?" the fighter said in a feminine, demonic voice as I realized every attack had missed. "Water-Dragon Sword." I said drawing my blade, "Lend me your strength!" I then ran in and performed a series of slashes, cuts, and jabs before working up the strength to use an ultimate attack. "HAKAISHIN SURASSHU! [God of Destruction Slash]" I shouted, before having my sword knocked out of my hand and landing behind me. "Did you honestly think that would work you fool?" the ice fighter mocked. "Y/n, I'm ready!" Akame shouted as I turned to look towards her. I saw her holding Murasame aiming for the ice fighter, her skin had a series of red kanji running up her body.

Before I realized, I heard metal shatter and Akame was frozen solid in a large block of ice, with the tip of Murasame gone and imbedded into the ground in front of me. "We can't have too many strong fighters can we?" The ice fighter asked in the same demonic tone, "I unfortunately missed you, but I can handle you myself, mut." "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!" I roared activating my Gravekeeper abilities. I then ran up slashing at the ice fighter with my bone claws as I had an idea. "I swore to never do this." I said as I picked up Water-Dragon Sword and rammed the pommel into my arm, feeling my power rise, I then threw Water-Dragon Sword at the ice fighter before dashing in and slashing with my claws, seeing a small amount of blood come off my target. "You're hopeless." Spouted the demonic voice, "All that, and you only managed to get a little bit of blood?" "You don't even know," I said running in behind the ice fighter and striking the pressure points, which felt cold to the touch, "you're already dead!" "I know you are," said the demonic voice from behind me, "but what am I?" I turned around to see the ice fighter swing down with the rapier, cutting deep into my arm and continuing down and cutting off my pouch of healing potions. I pushed my arm back into place feeling it heal back into place, before running away into the bustling streets of the Capital with the piece of Murasame.

POV: None

"GAH!" Logan cried waking up, still in the driver's seat. He looked around, not seeing Laura around, or inside the carriage. "Where'd she go?" "She went for a walk." Mudai answered as Logan jumped off the carriage, tossing the device on the carriage before running after footprints found on the ground leading east away from the carriage. About half a mile away from where Logan's carriage was hidden, Laura was sitting at a campfire eating a piece of meat while staring blankly into the flame. "What are you doin' girlie?" A hunter asked as he walked up and laid down his rifle. Laura ignored the hunter's question as she continued to eat the meat. "Where are your parents?" the hunter asked to no avail, getting irritated at her ignoring him. "ALRIGHT BITCH!" the hunter shouted while grabbing his gun. In response, Laura drew her blades and the kanji formed around her as she jumped towards the hunter and tackled him to the ground. She reared her left fist back, only for it to be grabbed by Logan as he ran up from behind her. "No!" Logan said catching her attention, "Not okay." Logan then walked away grabbing the meat that Laura was eating, making her smile as she was dragged away.

As Logan and Laura neared the carriage they heard a scream come from behind them as an young green haired woman came running up behind them, pushing an older bald man in a wheelchair. "I SWEAR I WAS ONLY LOOKING FOR FOOD FOR ME AND MY OLD MAN!" the woman shouted, being chased by hunter from before. "I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT!!!!" The older man then woke up and saw Laura and spoke to her. "Hello there young one." he said staring at her with faded green eyes, "You are adorable." "Now's not the time you senile old man!" the daughter said in a hushed tone as she kept pushing him forward. As the two passed Logan and Laura, the older man's eyes came to life, turning to a vibrant green. "You!" he said, pointing at Logan, "Y/n! You son of a bitch! What the fuck happened to you after the war! We needed you!" "Lubbock?" Logan asked in awe of finding another member of Night Raid. "YOU WILL DIE ASSHOLE!" the hunter shouted walking up while interrupting Logan's next statement. "Y/n," Lubbock said quietly, "would you help us leave the Empire?" "I can give you a ride out of here and to the nearby town," Logan said as Lubbock's daughter walked out behind them on a surrendered position, "but that's it. I won't take you any farther. I already have one person I'm taking away." "I will pay you to take us out of here and the Empire mr. Y/n." Lubbock's daughter responded turning away from the hunter. "You won't leave!" the hunter said as he shot Lubbock's daughter in the back. "Najeda!" Lubbock shouted as he watched his daughter fall to the ground. "Lubbock, I didn't know." Logan said as he walked up to the hunter. "Don't come near me!" the hunter shouted shooting at Logan, only to have the bullet enter Logan's torso. Logan placed his left fist against the hunters head before a loud *SNIKT* could be head and the hunter fell dead to the ground. "Laura, I'll meet you two at the carriage," Logan said as he lifted the body and Mudai appeared in front of them all. "At least bury the girl with her father around, brother." Mudai said as Lubbock watched in awe. "Who're you?" Lubbock asked. "I am Mudai," he responded, "I am Logan's brother. I have also been dead for over a century." "my people have the ability to reveal their spirit to those they choose," Logan said dragging the hunters body into the woods, "even if they aren't a Gravekeeper." "Your people always surprise me Y/n," Lubbock said as Logan grabbed a shovel from his carriage to bury the now deceased Najeda. "Thank you Y/n, I don't know if I can repay you." "Anything for an ally." Logan said after a moment of silence. "What happened to Cross Tails?" "Lost as I was running from the Empire." Lubbock said as a tear fell down his face, "I found a new one, but I don't know what it can do. I think it's a mental teigu." "I'm sorry Lubbock." Logan said as he pushed him to the carriage, "guess your legs stopped working due to old age." "Yeah," Lubbock laughed, "I'm surprised you're look so young, seeing that we're over 100 years old." "I drank a healing potion during the final battle." Logan responded looking at his hand, "The effects are wearing off though." "So you're not immortal huh." Lubbock joked as they arrived at the now damaged carriage. "No." Logan responded, putting Lubbock in the carriage, "I didn't want to be."

"I thought that town was close." Mudai said appearing beside Logan as they continued on the road as the sun started setting. "Well," Logan started, "Laura taking after Akame and all this shit with Lubbock did set us back by almost an hour." "Wait, you and Akame did it?" Lubbock asked in an annoyed manner. "You can't blame her for that," Mudai responded, "you haven't had much to eat yourself, and her being a child means she needs more to eat." "I was gonna feed her!" Logan said hearing a thud on the panel between the carriage and the drivers seat, "I was kid!" "Well, it is getting late, let her get some sleep." Mudai said as Logan hid his carriage again in the woods. He sat in the driver's seat pulling out the device that had been charging all day and resuming the video. "As the children became older," Laione said over screen as videos of the older children rebelling against the Imperial soldiers as they were forcibly recaptured or slaughtered by the soldiers. "They became more difficult to control. They taught them to kill, but they did not remove their hearts. They could not be controlled." the screen then showed a younger version of Laura, shaking as she holds her blades over her wrist before Laione came up behind her and started to comfort her. Having Laura start crying into her shoulder. "A soldier who cannot be controlled os not a good soldier." the screen then shows an older man with dark grey hair with a white streak followed soon by Pierce and the blonde that attacked Logan walking in a room with charts, graphs, tubes and images of the frozen Akame littered around the room. In the center was a human sketch with the pieces of a red disk lying about, as if it were a key. Laione then whispered the next few lines, "Inside this building is something new. Something possibly better than X-23, if they get the DNA just right. We were told to destroy the files, the 'project' had failed. They started putting the children to sleep, like dogs. We can't let them continue this. We are going to save as many as we can. I have read of a place far from here. They call it Eden, in the Soukai Nation of Wakoku." The screen then changed to show the children fleeing, with some crying, as the Imperial soldiers ran in and attacked, trying to kill the fleeing children. Logan only watched in horror as the images flashed against his face, before showing Laione sitting in a chair. "If you watch this, then I am dead. And I am not sure if any other children survived. We were separated. The book, it is the teigu Rongo Rongo, it shall guide the children in my absence. I am sorry, but I had no money, I was running on the kindness you've shown my grandmother, Y/n. Her name was Leone, and you fought alongside her as a Trump Card for Night Raid, along with the frozen girl. Luara, she's not my child, but I love her. You may not love her, but she is the child of you and the frozen girl. I see you are no longer a hero. You are no longer what my grandmother said you were. Maybe you never were. But please, I beg you, please bring her to safety." Logan looked back to see Lubbock looking back at him and Laura using Lubbock's lab as a pillow. "So," Lubbock said quietly, "you ran after Akame was frozen solid by the ice fighter huh." "She managed to avoid and survive my attacks," Logan said with a shaking voice, revealing he hadn't told anyone why he ran, "I wasn't in my league. Can you forgive me?" "I don't know." Lubbock said as Laura glared at Logan for a second. "That's the only thing I regret." Logan said as Laura turned back over with a scoff.

An hour later Logan drove the carriage into the decently sized town. The light of lanterns filled the street as they drove through. Laura woke up and looked at the lights shining in her face. She saw the bustling gambling community, littered with people down on their luck, people performing and sleeping on the street, men and women in little to no clothes parading around talking to people walking up and down the street with some heading into taverns and inns. Lubbock then woke up and looked around, as if he forgot where he was and who he was with. Upon a second thought, and meeting Laura's somewhat familiar eyes, Lubbock calmed down and looked around, swooning over the women who revealed themselves for the world to see. Soon after, Logan started pulling in towards a casino. "Is this where we're hiding out?" Lubbock asked as Laura helped him into his wheelchair and Logan opened the door. "No," Logan responded "we're staying the night, cleaning up, getting new clothes, ditching the carriage, getting a new one and getting the fuck out of here." Logan then drove to a larger casino, "Keep her out front." Logan said hopping off and handing the man outside the casio who opened the door for Laura, who was clinging to her horse, and Lubbock, "I'll be back for it in the morning."

Logan looked around nervously as he walked deeper into the casino, watching for any guards or Imperial soldiers as they walked to their room deep inside. Laura looked around at the bustling lights, jumping at the people shouting in glee of their success, and others cursing in failure. Lubbock calmed her by resting his hand on her shoulder. The trio made their way up a ramp into what appeared to be a clothing store, mannequins adorn with clean, expensive clothes for the customers to buy with their successes. Lubbock was staring at a mannequin with a cheap suit and hat relaxing in a chair with a cigarette. The trio got a change of clothes and progressed to a set of ramps leading up to the rooms. Lubbock wore the fancy hat from the mannequin with the tag still attached as Laura attempted to remove said tag while wearing sunglasses. While walking Lubbock tried to hand Logan a change in apparel to no avail. "Would you wait for us to get to the room." Logan said in a hushed tone as they entered the final hallway.

On the outside of the casino, the lights of the the Capital could be seen shining greatly through the window as dawn arose the next day. The remains of room service could be seen within the room, platters with mostly eaten breakfast scattered about the room. Laura helped Lubbock with getting his new outfit ready. Laura then looked outside, seeing the Capital and staring at it in awe. "First time seeing the Capital huh." Lubbock said as he looked out the window, "The Empire has lasted for centuries, however it has seen better days. It used to be an amazing place when I was your age." Laura then looked off into the distance.

Bottles of liquor lined the bathroom sink as Logan buttoned up his new shirt and grabbed his hat. Bullets and arrowheads lay in the sink from them being removed from his body. Logan then noticed Laura's bloodied clothes on the floor, with the box of files nearby. When he looked at them, the Imperial seal as well as Stylish Industries was labeled on both sides. Logan then looked through the files, receiving DNA results, along with code-names, abilities, and the letters F, W, or E in a bracket next to a word.

Logan continued looking through the files until stopping on the one he wanted, Laura's. X23-01: Subject can grow two bone claws from each hand and a single claw from the foot. When serious, red kanji form cursing those cut to die in a single cut. Healing factor introduced for testing [E; Murasame/Susanoo] Extra Characteristics; true child of sources, high IQ,volatile emotional swings, difficult to control, signs of manic depression in source genetics. GENETIC SOURCES: Akame(cursed) and Y/n. Logan then saw images of Laura, his own biological daughter, being tortured as they performed tests on her. Refusing to look anymore, Logan closed the folder, causing a photo of children along with two nurses, one of whom being Laione and the other unknown. On the back of the photo were a set of coordinates followed by the names Rebecca, Delilah, Rictor, Bobby, Charlotte, and Samuel. As Logan placked the files back he noticed the manga hidden underneath. Each labeled Night Raid. "For fucks sake." Logan muttered as he read the title of the manga.

"There's a body here sir!" a soldier shouted as Pierce walked up to look. "Looks like Wolvie's gone to murder." Pierce said as he saw the three hole in the hunter's skull. "And he seems to have two for company." The blonde Dorothea said as she looked at tracks, "Bring the tracker!" "Yes ma'am!" an imperial soldier said as he walked off to drag Tamashi back covered in a cloak. "Track boy." Dorothea said as Tamashi was thrown on the ground. "I. Said. Track." Dorothea said as she raised Tamashi's hood letting the sun burn his skin, revealing burn marks on his skin from other times they revealed his skin to the sun.

Laura sat on the bed, learning how to tie her shoes from Lubbock, surrounded by boxes and bags of new clothes. She smiles before looking up and meeting eyes with Logan, who left the bathroom with the box in one hand and the manga in the other. "You read these in your spare time?" Logan asked holding up the collection of manga, as Laura runs and grabs all but one, with Logan's beast form on the cover, "You know this is a bunch of bullshit right? Maybe a quarter of this happened. And none like this. In the real world people die, and no self promoting asshole in a leotard can stop it. Can you believe it Lubbock, we got us a fucking Night Raid fan." "Y/n," Lubbock said in a serious tone, "I'M THE FUCKER WHO WROTE IT! Times were tough after Miss Najeda and the others died in the battle, I had no source of money, so I figured, why not vilify us anymore with plans for sympathisers on the outside of the Empire's reign." "Lubbock," Logan said before Lubbock spoke back up, "Didn't you talk about finding a new ride?" "Right. Fine." Logan said walking to the door, "Stay safe." "Goodbye Y/n." Lubbock responded as Logan left the room.

A while later Logan rode past a carriage dealership, seeing as that was what he wanted, but he needed to ditch his carriage first. He drove around the corner into the slums, seeing graffiti and groups of thugs littering the area. Logan stopped the carriage and hopped off, looking through it to make sure he had everything. Upon inspection, a few Night Raid manga were under the seat and a small vial labeled 'Lubbock; Take four a day orally' "Fuck." Logan said as he left the carriage but took his horse to the dealership. "Help yourselves boys!" Logan shouted riding his horse towards the dealership. "Let me guess," Mudai said appearing beside Logan, "Lubbock forgot something didn't he." "It's his medicine." Logan responded, "they're for seizures." When he arrived he looked at the prices finding a small carriage able to hold him, Lubbock and Laura. A greedy dealer walked up smoking a pipe, "I know the finish looks beat," the dealer said rubbing his hands together, "but it's a classic, made before the war. Ten grand, and I'll repaint it, fix up the wheels and you'll have the paperwork." "I'll give you twelve grand as is, without the paperwork." Logan said pulling out a fairly sized sack of gold. "Well, the wheels are in bad shape, I'll need to fix them up first." The dealer said taking his pipe out of his mouth. "How long will it take?" Logan asked as he grew a tired expression. "Bout an hour tops." the dealer said, "You can head across the street to the bar for a bite while I work."

Logan sat at the bar, drinking whiskey while looking at one of the Night Raid comics. The images were familiar to him, but different. He pulls out another manga with a mountainous terrain and the members of Night Raid walking asif they were being pursued on their escape, the title claimed "Exodus to Eden! Rebellious Trail of Tears!" As he flipped through the pages he saw Najeda leading thousands of people wearing rags and others with riches. A scraggly, savage like man beside her with green hair stood there looking at a paper, beside him Logan in his beast form and a tall man in a kimono with blue hair and horns and Akame was behind them. "Lubbock's a good artist." Mudai said sitting in the seat next to Logan, invisible to the other patrons. When Logan turned the page he saw a view of the map, with the location of Eden just outside of the Empire's grasp, the text on top read "The Empire was peaceful, until the Revolutionary Army reared its head. The only safe space left for them is in the Soukoi Nation." When he looked at the map, he noticed coordinates, and familiar ones at that. When he looked at the small paper with his location on it, he realized the coordinates matched. "You gotta be fucking me." Logan whispered as the bartender walked up to him. "You want a refill?" the bartender asked as Logan looked up in a daze. "Just give me the bottle." Logan said as the bartender slid the bottle down. "You just passin' through?" the bartender asked as Logan threw down some coins, "Where ya headed?" "I don't know." Logan said as he got up and got his new carriage.

When Logan pulled up to the casino the valet tried to talk to him. "Shall I keep it out front sir?" he asked as Logan looked around. "No, I'll leave soon." Logan said seeing a man with a robotic arm in an Imperial uniform standing next to a blonde in a blue dress. To avoid the Imperial soldiers Logan attempted to sneak around the side. Moving past a gardener and other patrons, Logan spied for an entrance, finding a small batch of Imperial carriages and war horses. Soon after Logan heard a loud click followed by a ringing as his body felt heavy, as Logan looked around, carriages were crashing and people had fallen in the street, falling deeper in the state as the ringing gets louder. Pierce and Dorothea are frozen, seated in an Imperial carriage watching Logan slowly make his way inside. In front of them was a paper with the room number followed by the words "you know what to do."

The ringing only got louder as Logan made his was to his room, every guest and worker he passed was paralyzed. Logan zigzagged through the patrons struggling with every step, a gambler sat in awe as his winning roll produced the coins he won. As Logan 'sprinted' up the stairs he knocked a few patrons off the sides of the railings. "Come on Y/n" Logan muttered as he pushed himself to the door that blocked off his floor from the rest of the casino. When he opened the door the ringing reached a louder cry. He pushed his way past a maid who was frozen by her cart. Logan struggled to get enough air as he stepped closer to the source. "What the fuck is this?" Logan muttered with a groan as he saw two Imperial soldiers gasping for air. *SNIKT* Logan popped out his claws and killed the two frozen soldiers, slitting their stomach, having their guts fall to the floor as they stood there and watched themselves die.

After Logan kicked in his door he saw three soldiers mid attack, the room service cart was on its side. Lubbock sat in his chair, shaking as an unknown item was in his hand, proving to be the source of the paralysing sound with a violently spinning core. Laura was on the ground with her claws out, half paralysed, holding out what looked like a needle as if she was saying "use this." As Logan grabbed at the needle, he fell to the ground, in pain from the sounds emitted from the strange device bringing him down. As his eyes started to roll back into his head, he lunged forward and jabbed Lubbock in the neck, causing the sound to stop with everyone returning to normal. Laura and Logan, after regaining their breathe, quickly dispatched the three soldiers. Logan looked out the window and saw Pierce and the blonde leave the carriage and head towards the building. "We have to go. Now." Logan quickly said. As the trio left the room in the confusion, the workers and patrons stumbled about talking amongst themselves figuring out what had happened. The sounds of horses approaching could be heard in the distance. Logan pushed Lubbock out in his wheelchair, who was petrified over what he had done. "I'm so sorry, my God." Lubbock muttered as they moved in the room. As the trio moved through the lobby Lubbock only started to feel more and more guilt as he watched how much damage he had done. Laura watched as a woman cried for help while she performed CPR on the man. Laura stared in wonder as the man was revived. "We need to leave. Now!" Logan said quietly as he led her outside. As the three made it to the new carriage, the first few horses could be seen arriving. "Kid, hurry in!" Logan whisper yelled as he lifted Lubbock into the carriage. Laura climbed in right behind Lubbock as Logan jumped into the driver's seat and drove off, having Lubbock and Laura look behind at the chaos behind them.

"Get the bodies." Pierce said to his men, "we don't need this gettin' to the other towns and God forbid it gets to the Capital." "And what about the people?" Dorothea asked as she watched the people stumble around. "If they know too much," Pierce said glaring at the horse dung in front of him, "kill 'em." "Yessir!" the soldiers said quietly before dispersing to 'help' the people.

The sun was started to set as Logan drove the carriage as Laura was tapping on the side panels. "Cut it out." Logan said as Laura looked at him. She continued to do so just to annoy Logan. "I said knock it off." "Y/n," Lubbock said with a sigh, "She's a child. And if I remember correctly she's-" "What were those meds for?" Logan asked in a direct tone, "How long Lubbock?" "I don't know," Lubbock cautiously answered, "a day or so. Najeda reminded me every day, so I just forgot." "What was that sound thing?" Logan asked calming down. "That was something that came with the new teigu, Napad." Lubbock said looking at the device in his hand, "I can stop anyone I want as long as I focus. Only, after using it for too long, I started to receive seizures, and I stopped being able to control who I froze. Those pills are for my seizures." "Then why did you use it!?" Logan shouted as large, closed off carriages rode past them. "I did it to protect Laura." Lubbock responded. "You had a fucking seizure." Logan responded. "You didn't do shit." "It was more than I did in the past." Lubbock responded looking down, "I wanted to make up for failing to save anyone before." "You were recon, not combat!" Logan responded as Laura returned to tapping on the side panels, "Why are you still acting like the fight is on going?" "We have a young girl here," Lubbock said pointing at Laura, "and she might be able to put an end to this Empire. She could do what we failed to do. There are others at Eden, they could complete our goals. Does that mean nothing to you?" "No, it doesn't." Logan responded, "Not you trying to continue something that ended over a century ago, especially with you putting that shit in fucking manga!" "What are you talking about?" Lubbock asked as Logan grabbed the bottle of pills and handed it to Laura "Give those to him please." Logan asked "What do you mean?" Lubbock asked. "Take the fucking pills." Logan responded, "Now." "Y/n," Lubbock responded. "Brother," Mudai stated, "aren't you being a bit extreme?" "No I'm not." Logan said quickly, "Lubbock, take the damn pills, Laura give him the pills." Laura hesitantly gave Lubbock the pills as he took one. Lubbock held out his tongue showing that he had swallowed it. "Thank you." Logan said as he saw saw a soldier's carriage ride up.

"Soldier. Fuck." Logan said as he pulled over. "What does he want?" Lubbock asked. "She." Mudai responded as the officer left her carriage. "I might have been riding too fast." Logan answered, "If it wasn't it'd be more than her. So Laura, don't kill her." as Logan said that Laura retracted her claws. As the officer walked walked up it was noted that she had light blonde hair and a pair of black sunglasses. "Was I going too fast ma'am?" Logan asked as the soldier turned her sunglasses down, revealing black eyes. "License and registration please." the soldier said in a calm, welcoming voice. "I just bought it today," Logan answered handing her the paperwork, "I hope that's enough." "This'll do." the soldier said taking the papers, "You know how fast you were going?" "I'd say 70, 80 Kilometers." Logan answered to the dismay of Laura and Lubbock. "Try 96." the soldier said. "How can you two tell our speed?" Lubbock said in shock. "You ride enough you start being able to tell when people are going too fast." the soldier said looking into the carriage, "this your family Mr. Howlett?" "Yeah, That's my dad and my daughter." Logan responded pointing to Laura and Lubbock respectively. "What's your name sweetie?" the soldier asked Laura. "She doesn't talk ma'am." Logan responded. "Well, it's obvious that you people aren't from here," the soldier said, "it's the harvest season, so you guys need to be careful." "I'm sorry ma'am," Lubbock said to the soldier, "my son and his horse are some speed demons. We wanted to reach the Capitol soon, but not that fast." "You've got a nice family." the soldier said handing Logan his papers back and walking away, "Try to keep 'em safe, Logan."

The moderately sized caravan holding Pierce, Dorothea and Tamashi was sitting around the town, acting like a mobile base of operation of the local branch of the Imperial Army. The local soldiers guided people out of the town as a larger carriage was pulled in with shadowed figures inside. Confined in the back, Tamashi, was beaten, burned, and shaking as he hears the large carriage arrive. He looks out a small barred window, seeing a man with dark grey hair and a white streak get out of the carriage and beat the shit out of Pierce. Tamashi's attention was soon changed as the large carriage pulled up beside his, with the sounds of some caged danger beast was trying to escape. As Pierce, the blonde in the blue dress and the old man entered the carriage and the sounds died down. Tamashi then passed out from his wounds.

Logan, Lubbock, and Laura were on the road passing through some farm grounds with signs stating "Welcome to Corn Country: Backbone of the Capital" As Logan drove on the road, large carriages came up and started to run them off the side of the road by merging over into Logan's lane. "Keep in your lane asshole!" Logan yelled flipping off the large carriage as it passed them. "Y/n, watch your language." Lubbock said trying to calm Logan down. "What," Logan started "she can gut a man with her foot, but she can't hear a few naughty words?" "She can learn to be better." Lubbock responded looking at Laura, seeing the small Akame look back at him. "You mean better than me." Logan said. "Actually yes." Lubbock cockily said, "And by the way, Laura's foot claws are an obvious result of her gender." Logan simply looked ad Lubbock in confusion. "In a pride of lions," Lubbock continued, "females are caregivers of the young and hunters of the pride, they have front claws to hunt and foot claws for defense. They use their foot claw to attack the stomach or bladder of the attacker, thus ensuring their escape and survival. Guess a kick in the balls stops anything." "Get that from a bookstore?" Logan sarcastically asked, "Yes actually." Lubbock responded, "I would read some of my products before selling them. Being a bookstore owner gets boring from time to time." Laura looked out the window and sighed, seeing an older ox cart that had a few horses in the back. In the front there sat a young blonde boy, who looked back at Laura and waived with a smile. In front of him were his parents, who looked at the other carriage and smiled. A moment of silence filled the carriage as Logan looked back at Lubbock and Laura. They both seemed calm, even peaceful, as they gazed out the window, with Laura still looking at the horses. Everything seemed normal, almost as if they forgot they were on the run.

A loud cry could be heard as Logan looked forward and another large carriage came towards them, crossing into his lane. Logan had his horse swerve of the road before swerving back as Laura extended her claws on one hand and ran them into the floor and held onto Lubbock with her other hand so they didn't fly out. Logan struggled to regain control as the carriage spun around and faced the direction they came from, watching as the ox cart turned violently, opening the rear doors and letting the four horses run out before falling on its side. "Well, shit." Logan said as he tried to get his horse and carriage back on the road. "We have to help them Y/n." Lubbock said as he put a hand on Logan's shoulder. "We need to keep moving," Logan said removing Lubbock's hand from his shoulder, "someone will come along." "Someone has come along." Lubbock responded. "I will help them uncle." Lili said as she and Mudai appeared in the carriage, "With or without you."

The small family ran after the horses, with the boy running into the road, barely being hit by a large passing carriage with a large H written on it's side. "Bors!" The mother shouted as Logan drove the carriage towards the family, "Get off the road!" As the boy now known as Bors tried to round up the panicked horses, other large carriages with the S symbol ran by him without acknowledging his existence. Lubbock reached into his pocket and pulled out Napad, with Mudai smirking seeing that. Lubbock then started to concentrate, as Napad started to slowly spin in a calmer manner than at the inn. The horses than stopped and turned towards the overturned ox cart, returning in an organized fashion as if they were being commanded to by some unknown force. Laura jumped out of the carriage to help as she watched Bors pull himself onto the bare back of a nearby horse by its mane. Logan stopped the carriage and hopped out, walking towards the family. The father was cursing as he attempted to lift the cart, not noticing that Logan was approaching. "Can I give you a hand?" Logan asked as he walked next to the father. "Sure. Thanks." the father said as he and Logan placed the carriage on it's wheels and the mother had the ox pull the cart off the shoulder. Lubbock opened his eyes as Napad stopped spinning. He looked towards Bors, Laura and the horses as they were guided back to the carriage. "So," Mudai said quietly to Lubbock, "you can use Napad?" "Rarely." Lubbock answered with a smile. Laura stood on the side of the road, fascinated with Bors and his ability to control the horses, but she mostly Bors, who looked to be about her age with blonde hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin. The mother then left the ox cart to help her son load the horses into the carriage. She could tell he was upset since he slammed the door closed after putting the horses away. "Bors." the mother said. "What?" Bors responded.

On the other side of the ox cart, the father stretched out his hand to Logan. "I appreciate this." the father said, "Thank you. Will Munson." "Logan. Howlett" Logan responded shaking his hand. The mother then walked out with Bors, "Thank you so much for your help, sir." the mother said, "I'm Logue, and this is our son, Bors." Logan smiled and waved as the mother, now known as Logue, looked at him with a familiar gaze. "Is that your daughter?" Logue asked spying Laura looking at her son, as Bors now noticed her for the first time. "Oh. Yes." Logan responded as Lubbock looked out the carriage, "This is Laura, and that's my dad... Lubba." As Logan said that Lubbock waived at the family, "Where you all headed?" Will asked as Laura walked towards the horses. "North," Logan responded, with holding the information from the family. "The least we can do is give the three of you a decent meal," Logue said as Laura started to pet one of the horses, "show our appreciation? We don't live far from here." "That would be lovely." Lubbock said as he leaned out the carriage. "No, thank you, we really can't-" Logan responded as he spotted Laura playing with one of the horses, "Laura, get back here." "Please." Logue responded, "it's the least we can do. And you're going to have to stop for dinner sometime."

Tamashi sat unconscious as a tube drips a pale liquid into his arm. "Over a hundred years ago," came a smooth, seductive voice, "I worked on cross-breeding Danger Beasts in an effort to make the ultimate soldier. We had the classic infantrymen, and mixed it with a bit of Apemen." The older man with the dark grey hair and white stripe sat next to Tamashi, adjusting the tubes as Tamashi came to. "These hybrids were stronger and more aggressive to be sure," the man said in the same tone, "but despite all our efforts, we couldn't get them to listen to orders. In the lab, they did little, aside for killing our workers." As the man said that he shined a light in Tamashi's face and ears, doing a sort of physical exam. "We wanted to create a helpful soldier, instead, we created monsters. And before we could fix that issue, a few, might have escaped. And these monsters made their way into a mine, killing 33 miners and multiplying. We managed to cave a few in, but some made their way out and up the Empire, killing men, women and children along the way. And even worse, they outed our chance to continue our research. But, that's the price of progress." As the man said that he shined his light in Tamashi's eye, getting him to full consciousness. "My colleagues tell me you've been somewhat resistant." the man said as Tamashi looked out the window, seeing Pierce and Dorothea talking to the soldiers, "They believe you're dispensing delayed information, allowing your friends to stands one step ahead." "P-please," Tamashi weakly started, "let me be..." "I'm offering you an opportunity, Tamashi." The man continued, ignoring Tamashi's fearful tremors, "To redeem yourself, to save your Empire, and, in the process, save your friend. That girl your friend has, not our beautiful Dorothea, we could never get rid of her. But your girl, X-23, she is a very small price to pay for our request. Unlike you, she was made in a lab. She wasn't made by nature. She's a mistake of my own. A monster that escaped captivity. And I need to get her into captivity before she kills." "What do you want from me?!" Tamashi asked in fear, "I did what I could and your people fucked it all up!" The man then laughed lightly, "I agree that my men have not been expected." the man responded, "I'm bringing new tools to bear. But I still need someone to point us in the right direction." "No." Tamashi said in a panic, "No. No. I can't keep..." "Breathe, breathe." The man said with a smirk, "How old is your friend, the Wolverine? He's what, nearing 120? That's a miracle these days. But, wasn't he an ace of Night Raid? That's quite the problem. You pay quite the price not using your teigu to find him. Too bad you and I didn't meet years ago. I could have saved you some pain, and I could save you from a beheading. Honest, I have some sway in the government. I also have... something... for your wounds." As the man said that, he reached into his bag and pulled out a pair purple gloves with metal plates on the back. "My name is Dr. Stylish, by the way." The man, now known as Dr. Stylish said with a sly smile, meeting Tamashi's eyes, "But you can call me Master."

In the Munson family somehow convinced Logan, likely with the help of Lubbock, to stay for dinner. The Munson's household had many religious symbols, and above the mantle, a strange looking gun with a tube leading to a fuel tank, on the tank said "You will always be here to protect us dad." Beneath the gun portion, there was the a picture of a more muscular, intimidating man with short, spikey blonde hair and blue eyes, barely hidden behind his large friendly smile, on this memoir was the name Bols. This was noted by Laura who, unlike the others, was looking around the room during the supper prayer. "We thank you, Lord, for this food..." Bors prayed, "we also thank you Lord, for sending our new friends, the Howletts to our aid today. Amen." After the end of the prayer, the families dug into the food. Laura started to eat like a wild animal, getting strange looks from the Munson family. "Slow down, child." Lubbock said, "you are your mother's daughter." Laura then looked around, seeing that the host family was watching her, "Her mother ate like that." Logan said with a smile. "When did she die?" Logue asked to see Logan and Lubbock frown. "She, died during childbirth." Logan answered quietly, while providing an accurate, elusive answer. "Well, there's plenty more food where she's at." Logue said trying to lighten the mood, having Laura's eyes form stars at the idea of more food. "Where are you all headed?" Will asked as Lubbock and Logan interrupted each other. "North." Logan responded, "Wakoku." Lubbock interrupted. "North, then Wakoku." "Vacation?" Logue asked. "Yes. Long overdue." Lubbock said with a smile, "I'm over 100, I haven't been near the Empire since the War. Even then, I was too young to remember it clearly. Always wanted to take a road trip, see the country. Meet the people who call it home." Logan smirked as he watched Lubbock smile for the first time in centuries. "That sounds lovely." Logue said with a smile, "I barely remember the Capital before the war, I was only 5 when it started. I've been trying to get will here to let us return to the Capital for years now." "And if we go traversing through the Empire," Will said as he continued to eat, "who's gonna look after this place?" "Exactly," Logue said, "I say we let it go." "And live off what?" Will asked. "The Lord will provide." Logue responded. "Well," Will responded, "I'm still waiting for Him to provide me an easier way to separate my grains." Logue simply smiled at Lubbock, "All the same," she said with her bright smile, "I'd love to travel some day." "And I bet you will." Lubbock said. "I could drop out!" Bors said enthusiastically. "Let's not go that far." Logue responded. "Now, Bors." Logan said, "Lubba used to be a teacher, you don't need him hearing that." "It was a, special needs school" Lubbock said, "Logan was there" "I was kicked out a handful of times." Logan responded with a sly smile as the two families laughed, Laura studies the 'art' of the family dinner, seeing as it was her first one, and her first time seeing a teenage boy. She kept her eyes fixed on him. "Miss Logue," Lubbock started, "that was the best meatloaf I've ever had." "Thank you Lubba." Logue responded as they finished the meal. "Ma'am," Logan said while standing up, "I can't thank you enough for dinner. But we have a long ride ahead of us." "You need to rest don't you?" Logue asked, trying to help her new guests and friends. "We'll find a motel." Logan said, "Or sleep on the side of the road like the old days." "Nearest is two hours away." Will added, "And it's isn't-" "They're gonna stay here." Logue said with some power, "We have a perfectly fine room upstairs for your daughter and father and you can sleep in the living room on the convertible." "Logue." Logan started, "That's very nice of you, but we really should get-" "We can leave first thing in the morning." Lubbock interrupted, "Crack of dawn, if you will." "Let's go wash up... Pop." Logan said as he took Lubbock to the bathroom.

As Lubbock washed his face, Logan counted out two pills. "Two days on the road," Lubbock whispered, "with a single meal, and barely any sleep. She's 15 and I'm fucking 120." "She's 11 dumbass." Lili said appearing before the two. "Either way," Logan said in a hushed tone, "that's a hundred and thirty-five reasons to keep moving." "I'm not a box of avocados." Lubbock said in a stupor "What does that have to do with anything?" Mudai asked as he appeared in the mirror due to a lack of room. "And then what?" Logan said ignoring the previous statement, "We stay the night and then what?" "We take Laura to her friends in Eden," Lubbock said with a glimmer of hope in his eyes, "then we leave them there and live out the remainder of our limited time on this world." Logan shook his head as he handed Lubbock his pills. The faucet spurt out water as he filled a cup for Lubbock's medicine. "Goddammit." Will said from the kitchen as Logan wheeled Lubbock out of the bathroom. "What's wrong?" Logan asked as Bors entered the room. "Bors," Will said, acting like this is a normal situation, "go fill up the tub before we lose pressure." Bors nodded his head and ran to the bathroom as asked. "They shut it off again." Logue said as she walked to the window. "Who is they?" Logan asked as Laura stepped out into the hall. "You best deal with it now Will." Logue said as Bors returned. "It can wait til morning." Will said rubbing the bridge of his nose, "We got rain last night." "Will," Logue said as she placed her hand on will's shoulder and moved her hand down to his hand, fascinating Laura with the simple gesture, "we have three guests, one of whom is a little girl, and a sink full of dishes." "Alright. Will said as he walked towards the door, "You're right. Logan, the pump station that supplies us is about a mile and a half away from here. Sometimes it gets itself shut off." "By assholes." Bors said as he walked outside the bathroom. Will simply glared at his son while Lubbock looked at Logan with a smirk. "My son can go with you." Lubbock responded. "Oh, no." Will said in response, "Thank you, but these men who did this can be-" "I'll come!" Bors said with glee. "You have homework young man." Logue said in a serious tone. "I'll go." Logan said meeting eyes with Logue, "Just let me get my dad settled." As Logan said that he rolled Lubbock's wheelchair towards the stairs before carrying him the rest of the way up the stairs. Laura watched and followed them up the stairs, peering into the room and watching the scene play out. "You should be fine in here." Logan said as he laid Lubbock in the bed. "I know, thank you." Lubbock responded attempting to make his way under the covers. "Okay, get some rest." Logan said as he placed Lubbock under the sheets. "Can I get a good-night kiss?" Lubbock playfully asked "No jackass." Logan muttered, "I may not use the Hokuto, but I still know how." "Look, Y/n, I'm trying to make you smile here." Lubbock said in an annoyed tone, "You know, Y/n." Mudai said as he appeared on the side of the bed with Lili in his lap, "This is what life looks like. A house, people who love each other. A safe place. Take a moment and feel it. You still have time brother." "Mudai." Logan said in an annoyed tone, "The world is not the same as it was a hundred years ago. We're, no, I'm taking a risk here. And that's where I'm going. Eden. It doesn't exist. Her nurse got it from a manga made by a senile old man." "I'm young enough to be your big brother." Lubbock quietly retorted. "Shut up smartass." Logan said with a scowl, "You both need to understand. It's. Not. Real." "It is for Laura." Mudai, Lili, and Lubbock said simultaneously as Logan left the room. As Logan passed Laura he saw Will reaching into a cabinet and removing a small pistol. "I don't like guns." Logan said as he passed Will. "Don't worry." Will said with a smile, putting the pistol in his pocket, "We shouldn't need it."

A few moments later, Logan was helping Will carry some tools down a dirt road. "Honest Beverages bought up everything out here." Will said as they walked between two large fields, "Except us. When we refused to sell, they tried eminent domain. Then screwing with our water. Couple months ago, someone poisoned our dogs." "So today," Logan said in a realization, "Out on the road-" "Who knows." Will interrupted, "maybe. It doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. You see those giant buildings out there in the fields, the run workers worse than slaves. It's like a bee's hive. One leader giving order to mindless drones. They work all day and night picking up their strange super-corn. Bears fruit in half the time. Tastes like shit though." "Why do people eat it?" Logan asked "They don't." Will responded getting a confused response from Logan, "They drink it. They turn it into a snake oil. Everyone drinks the shit, to stay awake, feel strong, sexy, whatever. Used to be a time when a bad day was just a bad day, you know?" "Mine still are." Logan said as they continued through the fields towards a small shed. Will set his tools down as he opened the door, causing water to flow out. "Looks like we'll be a while Logan." Will said as he pulled out a wrench, "Someone opened all the damn valves, allowing the fucking water to go everywhere." "You lead, I'll follow." Logan said as he felt a cigar in his pocket. Logan then pulled it out and lit it, blowing smoke as he worked with Will.

Bors' room was filled with rodeo trophies and posters. A white cowboy hat was on the wall over a lasso. The room of a rodeo student. Bors is sitting at his desk as he's doing his homework. He looked up when he heard the wood by his door creak, seeing Laura stand there looking into his room at the trophies with a look of curiosity. At first, he ignored her, rewriting his answers on another paper and throwing the first away. Laura looked at the crumpled up paper, seeing equations with blanks to fill the answers and chicken scratch in the margins resembling work. "I'm not good at math." Will said as he turned his chair around to face Laura. After staring at the equations she returned her gaze to the trophies and posters that decorated his room. "Those two are for breakaway roping." Bors said pointing to the trophies around his room. "Those for are barrel racing. Those up there are for pole bending. But they're all second or third place. I'm not so good at it, but dad makes me practice." Laura then took a piece of paper from the ground and then started to copy it on a different sheet. "Uhhh, that's trash work, half of it's wrong." Bors said as he looked at Laura working on the floor. Laura then handed him the paper and stood up. "How did you do that?" Bors asked as he looked at her paper. Laura nodded her head and reached out to shake his hand. "Oh, thanks" Bors said as he shook her hand, noticing weird bumps by her knuckles, "What's with those?" As soon as Bors uttered those words, Laura removed her hand from his grip and left the room. "Good night!" Bors said as Laura left the room.

Will and Logan had finished working on the pump and started to reset the system. "How long's your girl been that way?" Will asked Logan who gave him a confused look, "Mute, I mean." "Since," Logan said trying to come up with an excuse to why she was mute, "well, the beginning really." "In some ways, I envy you." Will said with a faint smile, "They get to Bors' age, the nonsense that comes out of their mouth. Makes you question it all." "Tell me about it." Logan said as he continued to fix the unfixed pipes. "Hard thing is," Will said, "fatherhood, it never ends." Logan stopped working and thought about that statement for a moment as Will kept working. "You're a lucky man." Logan said after his moment of thought. "I guess I am." Will said with a nod as the water stopped gushing in. "That should do it." Logan said as he put up his tools. "Until the next time." Will said as he put his tools up. As the two walked out of the shack a small, fancy cart with lights came up. "I don't know why I bother anymore." Will said as he placed a new lock on the door. "Stay here Logan. I'll handle them." Will walked towards the carriage. As Will got closer, four large men jumped out sporting shotguns and rifles. After the men jumped off, one of the men opened the door as a short, fat man hopped out and walked over. "Evening, Mr. Munson." the short man said, receiving a nod from Will, "What brings you out this way?" "Why don't you ask your boys, Honest?" Will replied. "You understand, you're trespassing, right?" Honest said with a smirk, knowing he had the advantage. "I have an easement with the previous owner." Will responded. "Previous being the operative word." Honest said noticing Logan in the background. "Who's this?" "I'm nobody." Logan answered before Will could respond, "Just a guy telling you to get back in your fancy cart and play Okie dickhead somewhere else." Honest chuckled at the statement, "You hire some muscle, Mr. Munson?" "He's a friend of mine." Will responded. "A friend with a big mouth." Honest responded. "I hear that a lot." Logan responded with a scowl. "Then you probably hear this a lot too." Honest said as he cocked a rifle, receiving a nod from Logan. "More than I'd like." Logan answered. "Then you know the drill." Honest said in a raised voice, "I'm gonna count to three and you are gonna start walking away." "I have rights to this water." Will said as Honest started counting, "One." "And I have a lawyer now." Will retorted trying to talk down Honest, "Two." Logan then grabbed Honest's rifle, surprising everyone. Before Honest could react the butt of his gun met his face. "Three." Logan said as Honest fell to his knees, holding his bloody face. "What are you idiots doing!" Honest yelled trying to point at Logan, "Get this bastard!" Will then drew his pistol and smacked one of the men in the face and aimed at the other two as Logan flipped the rifle towards the other men. "You all know the drill." Logan said as he fired near the men's heads. "Go." As Logan said that the men dragged Honest to the cart and riding off. "You've had training." Will said in an impressed manner. "Some." Logan responded, "Not with guns." "I wish I had you around all the time." Will said with a laugh as they started the walk back home, "Sure you don't want to stay?" "No," Logan responded, "but I'll take a drink if you got one." "Logue doesn't like booze in the house." "Maybe I got something in the carriage." Logan laughed.

Lubbock was laying in bed, staring out at the crescent moon over the farm, with sounds of a light breeze and the calls of crickets serenaded the homestead. He looked down, seeing Laura sleeping on a hooked rug, and smiled, remembering the good times from the past. He rolled over when he heard the wood creak from the door, seeing Logan's silhouette looking towards Laura. "Don't wake her yet." Lubbock said with a smile, "Let her have another hour." Lubbock rolled onto his back and looked back out at the farmstead with something weighing on his mind. "This was," Lubbock started, "without a doubt, the most splendid night I've had in a long time, but then, I don't deserve this." As Lubbock said that Logan's silhouette stopped moving towards Laura and turned towards Lubbock. "We don't deserve this." Lubbock said. "I remembered what happened during the War. I was to keep an eye out for reinforcements on both sides. I had wires draped around the Capital. I saw your fight with the ice teigu user, but I didn't see what exactly happened, all I saw was a large, collection of ice form in the area, but that was it. Moments later, Miss Najeda called for retreat." Lubbock then looked at Logan's silhouette that approached him. "Mine died protecting me as I ran. I finally understand you Y/n," Lubbock said with a quickly fading smile, "I understand why you ran, and, I forgive you." As Lubbock said this, Logan's silhouette placed a hand on Lubbock's shoulder. As Lubbocked looked at the silhouette perplexed, something felt off, something was wrong. "Y/n?" Lubbock said as he felt a fist push on his chest. Lubbock gasped as he saw Logan pull his hand back, with his claws covered in blood. Laura then opened her eyes, seeing what was unfolding. Lubbock then reached for a lanturn or something on his nightstand as the claws were plunged back into his chest. Logan managed to find a lanturn and opened the shades, revealing a perfect copy of Logan, only with a pair of yellow eyes.

Laura then jumped at the clone in an attempt to save the old man's life. She shrieked as she landed on the clones back gouging at him with her blades and the curse mark active. The clone spun around and swung at her with his claws in an attempt to knock her off his back. After a second he stumbles to a wall and slams his back against it, knocking Laura out as her claws retracted and the curse mark vanished. "HEY, ASSHOLE!" Bors, armed with a metal bat, shouted as he saw Laura dazed on the ground, Lubbock bleeding on the bed, and the bloody claws of the clone. Bors then lunged at the clone, swinging his bat at the clones head. The clone barely moved as the bat morphed slightly around his head.

A large carriage sat outside the farmstead, on the inside sat Pierce, Dorothea, Dr. Stylish, three strange people with an over exaggerated feature, a few soldiers, and in the back, Tamashi in his cage, moved into the larger carriage to be watched. "Looks like your baby boy just took out one of the last remaining members of the Revolutionary Army." Pierce said as he noticed the lights turn on in the house. "You said you only wanted the girl!" Tamashi shouted as he grabbed the bars of his cell, "You said you just wanted the girl!" As Tamashi shouted that, the large man with over exaggerated eyes punched the cage holding Tamashi. "I told you," Stylish said spinning in his chair to face Tamashi, "I was forced to bring new tools to bear. X-24, he's just a baby, and a bit of a blunt instrument. But your friends had every chance. And so did you." "Doc," Pierce started, "ain't we in the land belongin' to the Honest family?" "That doesn't matter." Dorothea responded, "He's been trying to worm these people out anyway."

A large amount of Stylish Industries carriages were littered in small fields, just out of view as Will and Logan walked back to the house. "Since Bors was born," Will said as they walked to the house, "I try not to imble much. Maybe once a month. I guess you enjoy a drink more often than that." "Any day that ends in y." Logan responded as they placed the tools in the shed, "Some of us never beat alcoholism, and I don't plan to."

The clone of Logan was carrying Laura, who was now in restraints specially designed to keep her harmless, was attempting to make his way out as Logue stood out in front of him holding Rubicante at the clone. "Put her down." Logue said in a low, commanding tone before the clone threw Laura down the stairs. "Logue!?" Will shouted as he entered the house. "Stay down there Will!" Logue said as Rubicante started glowing.

Logan had grabbed a bottle of whiskey from his carriage when he smelled something off. He looked behind him, seeing the house on fire, Logan ran back to the house in attempt to save everyone. As he entered the house, he saw Will, gutted on the floor, and Logue's lifeless body holding Rubicante next to Bors, whos guts littered the floor. He saw his clone carry Laura down the stairs before stopping in front of him, the clones yellow eyes peering into his soul as his clone left the building, causing Logan to run up the stairs to check on Lubbock. When Logan reached Lubbock's room, he found him, breathing slowly, as he died from his wounds. Logan carried Lubbock's dying body down the stairs, wrapped in a quilt. When Logan stepped outside, he saw his clone standing in the middle of the road holding Laura by chains staring at a carriage with torches along the top. Ignoring this, he ran with Lubbock to put him in the back of his carriage

Inside the carriage, Dr. Stylish is meticulously watching his experiment near them with his prey in tow. "I'll pick X-24 and the target up sir." The driver said as he picked up his reigns. "No, no." Stylish said, stopping the driver, "Let them come to us." "Let out the incineration squad." Pierce said quietly, "Let's kill two birds with a stone." "I don't think that's the phrase." Dorothea said rubbing the bridge of her nose. "You see gentlemen," Stylish said as he started a lecture, "we learned with the X-23's. We assumed, that because they were children, their emotional responses could be manipulated and controlled. But it turns out you cannot nurture rage. You simply must design it. Like God did." As Stylish was giving his 'lecture,' Pierce looked out the window and saw another carriage with torches on top approach, closer to X-24 than they were. "Who the fuck is that?" Pierce said pointing to the carriage that just stopped. "Hey, asshole!" Honest shouted as he and his four men jumped off their carriage armed for a fight. "What in the world happened here!" X-24 didn't answer as he dropped Laura in the middle of the road, walking towards the other carriage with a scowl. "No, no, no." Stylish said in a quiet panic. "Assuming Munson's dead," Honest said with a sly smile, "you can start working for me, let bygones be bygones, how does 5 grand in gold a week sound?" X-24 then walked towards Honest as his men cocked their weapons. "Hold it right there pal." Honest said as his men aimed at X-24, "We're the law around here." X-24 walked up towards Honest, his claws now extended. "What in high holy" Honest said before he was swiftly decapitated. Honest's men tried to run as they were eviscerated by X-24. "He's confused." Stylish said to Pierce who sat nonchalantly in a chair, "We need to intervene." "He only listens to you doc." Dorothea responded.

As Logan placed Lubbock in the back of his carriage, Lubbock uttered his last words. "Y/n, I forgive you." Lubbock died as the screams of Honest's men filled the environment. Logan covered Lubbock's eyes with a blanket he kept in the back, his eyes filling with rage as he walked towards the conflict. Laura woke up over the sounds of screams, she saw Dr. Stylish jump out of his carriage and start yelling in her direction. "Twenty Four!" Stylish shouted in an attempt to regain control of his creation, "Stop! Stop now! Get the girl! Get back here!" As X-24 finished slaughtering Honest's men, and turned to face Dr. Stylish. "Come! NOW!" Stylish shouted as X-24 listened. As X-24 walked away one of Honest's men, who wasn't killed stood up and fired a single shot at his assailant. In response to his light wound, X-24 turned around and walked over to the man. X-24 lifted him by the hair and slit his throat, almost decapitating the poor fool. "Just fucking get her!" Stylish shouted to Pierce and his men.

Pierce had activated his armor, not noticing what Tamashi was doing. "Let's get goin' men!" Pierce said turning back and seeing Tamashi, now wearing Spectator, glowing in a crimson light. "Beware the light you piece of shit!" Tamashi shouted, "Trump Card: EXPLOSIVE LIGHT!" As that was said, Dorothea was heard screaming as she was next to Tamashi. Pierce and one his men were thrown out of the carriage, Pierce's armor lightly burned, and one of his men, killed by the explosion. Laura looked at the new ball of fire, her face glowing orange, watching Pierce, in his armor stumble from the wreckage.

X-24 was walking towards Laura to pick her up, but was blindsided by Logan as he ran in, avenging his fallen comrade. Logan savagely stabbed his clone in the chest as his true beast form came into view, pushing the clone back to a large piece of farming equipment. X-24 took the beating, before revealing his own claws and stabbed Logan in the chest before tossing him over his head into a rock. X-24, with his claws still plunged in Logan's chest, let all his weight sink into his claws, the sounds of Logan's ribs cracking under the weight of the massive clone. Logan looked over and saw Laura on her side, struggling to get free of her restraints, then feeling an urge of strength, Logan kicked X-24 off his chest and climbed back to his feet. After X-24 landed the two 'Gravekeepers', one being true, and the other, a mere copy, charged each other, their claws interlocking as neither one held the proverbial higher ground. After a moment, X-24, being in his prime, managed to shove Logan to the ground, with their claws still bound together. After a few seconds, Logan rolled out from under the younger X-24, causing the attacking pair of claws to land in the dirt. "I didn't think I'd have to do this." Logan said as he stumbled up, reverting to his natural aged form, "Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken. [Fist of the 1000 Shred]" Logan then rushed towards X-24 and tapped multiple points on his body, such as the head and torso, and a few seconds later, bits of X-24 exploded in a shower of blood. As Logan got up, he heard a strange sound behind him, turning around he saw Will, struggling to use Rubicante's tank to support his dying body. Will fired Rubicante at X-24, burning the remaining body to a crisp. He then turned to Logan, his eyes filled with bewilderment and rage, Rubicante charged, glowing a bright orange with a loud hum. Logan struggled to stand up to face his adversary, as Logan stood, Rubicante dies out and Will fell to the ground, succumbing to his wounds. Logan ran to pick up Laura, ignoring Dr. Stylish, now lightly burned, and Pierce, out of his armor, with shrapnel torn through his robotic arm. A few feet away, Tamashi's dying body lies burned to a crisp, watching Logan and Laura flee with a faint smile.

When Logan made it to his carriage, he threw Laura in the front of the carriage, right beside him as he ushered his horse on and through the corn fields before making it to the road and riding away from the house. Laura turned and seeing Lubbock's dead body lying in the back, she started to panic, screaming as she pulled at her restraints, trying to free herself. "Hold still! Stop squirming! STOP!" Logan said as he reached over and busted the lock on the restraints with a single claw. Nothing else was said as they drove through the night.

A large collection of large carriages approached the remains of the Munson home in the morning. The men left the carriages and some of them, wearing covered clothes, moved the burned corpses away. "I'm alright," Stylish said as some of the men tried to help him up. Dr. Stylish then ran towards X-24, who struggled to remain alive, being badly cut, pierced, and burned, his body trying to heal itself. "You did fine, Twenty Four." Dr. Stylish said as he poured a yellow liquid on X-24, causing his wounds to heal, "Breathe, you're healing. You did well, you're a newborn by any measure, just breathe. Your body has work to do. That potion will boost the effects of your regeneration."

Logan had parked his carriage on the side of the road as he carried Lubbock's dead body to a spot near a small lake. Laura handed Logan a shovel from the carriage, and he started to bury his old friend. Logan teared up as he placed Lubbock in the ground, his shirt now red with his own blood. "Lubbock," Logan said holding back tears, "I hope you like this place. There's plenty of water at the lake. Which means you'll have girls in bikinis all around your grave." As Logan said that, Laura gently held Logans hand, similar to Logue and Will the night before. "I realize you had your heart set on another," Logan said as he noticed Laura holding his hand, pulling it back unable to cope with not only the loss of Lubbock, but also Akame, who he still sees in Laura, "fuck this." As Logan said that he walked off towards towards their carriage crying out in pain as he got there. Lara looked out to the water, seeing an older fisherman walking with his dog.

POV: Logan's Mind

"Wake up idiot!" I heard some female say as a warm light came to my view. "I'm up dammit!" I responded as my vision started to return to normal. "Who the fuck's telling me what to do anyway?" "An old ally." Came an all too familiar voice. "Akame!" I shouted seeing her and all other members of Night Raid, my relatives, Tamashi, two hooded figures, and Julia appeared near me, all in their prime, even Lubbock who died hours ago. "I'm sorry," I said apologetically, "I'm sorry I failed you all." "Hey, we knew what we were getting into!" Tatsumi shouted as everyone looked at him before turning their attention to me. "We knew that our lives were on the line as soon as we started working for the Revolutionary Army. We knew that one day, we may see the ones we love the most." As Tatsumi said this he glanced over at Mine, who gave him a look of 'Is this all you came up with?' "Y/n," Julia said calmly as she walked close to me, "I knew what would happen if I married Shin, I couldn't live with myself if you were killed because of me." "So does this mean I'm dead?" I said with a slight smile. "Hell no!" Lubbock said as Najeda placed her now normal right hand on his shoulder, "You still have to help Laura and the others get to Wakoku!" "Yeah," Leone said with a smirk, "Finish what my granddaughter started." "I don't think you'll need much help from us brother." Mudai said as he came up and rested his arm on my shoulder. "But I never got help from you brother." I responded as Mudai and my other relatives laughed. "That may be true my son." my father said stoically, "But who would have kept you company when you were alone." "Y/n," Akame said with a smile, "please, help our-" The next thing I know, a bright light shined over me.

The light from the doctor's machines shined in Logan's closed eyes, causing him to wake with a groan. Opening his eyes, he found himself in a small doctor's office, an IV hooked into his arm. The doctor's office was decorated with paintings of the surrounding mountain range, forrests, and the seas. Feeling slightly better, Logan sat up on the bed, seeing mountains and now barely hearing the sounds of the ocean. The elderly doctor walked in, seeing Logan awake and sitting up, and spoke up. "Welcome back." the doctor said in a glad tone, "I was afraid I'd have to tell that nice little girl that her Daddy isn't coming back." Logan then looked around and saw mechanical devices monitoring his condition. "I never expected to work on someone with injuries like yours." the doctor said as he sat down, "What happened to you? You looked like you were attacked by a feral wolverine." "Your not that far off." Logan said as he started to walk away, being stopped by the doctor grabbing his arm. "What you need is rest and treatment," The doctor said with a glare in his eye, "the Empire will kill someone with abilities like yours." "What abilities?" Logan said tearing his arm away. "That regeneration you have," the doctor said catching Logan's attention, "and your claws." "You don't need to worry about that." Logan said calming himself down, "I'll be fine on my own." "I doubt that." The doctor said following Logan out of the room, "Your internals look like they belong to a man in Death's door, and long overstayed his welcome." "I feel that way." Logan said as he walked into the main room, "Please mister," The doctor said stopping Logan again, "if you stay here, we can hide you and take your daughter to a safe location. If that's alright for you." "How do I know this isn't a trap?" Logan asked as Laura walked up to him. "There's a group of kids in the mountains," the doctor responded, giving a Revolutionary salute, "they wanted to leave straight on after they all regrouped, so we gave them a location to hide, after they showed the secret coordinates." "Where is this location?" Logan asked, getting annoyed at the doctor's requests. "It's a small house in the mountains, once owned by a family drawn to rags due to their only son, Lubbock, joining the Revolutionary army." The doctor said as Logan calmed down, "We'll be going now." Logan said as he and Lara walked outside and entered a small carriage on the outside of the doctors office.

"You can't just take shit." Logan said as he got in the carriage, moving the box in the driver's seat. Laura, ignoring Logan's previous statement, got in the passenger seat. Logan started to grab the reins and spoke to Laura. "I don't know how you got me here," Logan said, "but thank you." "You're welcome." Laura said with a unique accent that sounded all too familiar to Logan, making him jump in the process. [NOTE: I translated/altered the spanish for easier reading. For large bursts where I used a translator, I'll place the spanish in {}, sorry if this offends anyone, but it fits the world better,] "Wait, you can talk!?" Logan said staring at Laura as she nodded in response, "Why the fuck haven't you been talking for the last few days!?" "You expect me to talk to you when not looking at me?" Laura shouted, "You expect me to talk to you insult me and try to leave my behind!? {Tu espera que hable con tu cuandono mirarme? Tu espera que hable con tu cuando me insultas y tratar de dejarme atrás!}" "Shut the fuck up!" Logan shouted as Laura recomposed herself. "Jonah," Laura slowly said calmly, "Gideon, Rebecca, Delilah, and Rictor." "Who?" Logan asked in confusion as Laura reached into her back and pulled out the remaining amount of gold and the package with the coordinates on it. "Wakoku." Laura said, "Please. Jonah, Gideon, Rebecca, Delilah, and Rictor." "Fine." Logan responded, "Look. This place. Your mom, she read too many stories." Laura, ignoring Logan again, reaches back into her bag and pulls out the manga with the coordinates as the package, showing him the canyon passage. "I know, I saw it." Logan said as Laura pointed to the coordinates on the map. "Right, this place does not exist. It's fictional. Wakoku does not exist." "Yes," Laura responded, "Wakoku, please." Logan then started to heavily cough, "No." Logan said after his cough, "I'm saying that place is imaginary. Lubbock said he wrote the story. Something happened once, and made these people into a lie." "You were paid to take me to this place!" Laura shouted, "Why can't you take me to this place!" Laura then started to look through her pack, and pulled out the book. She showed Logan, who was too tired to fight back, a map and pointed to the seas near where they were. "Okay, We may be near the sea, but it's a long way." Logan said as Laura punched him in the face. "Okay." Logan said rubbing his nose, "First, ow. Second, look at me. I'm fucked up. And it's at best two days away." "Jonah," Laura said as she pointed to the map, "Gideon, Rebecca, Delilah, and Rictor." "Stop saying those names." Logan said as Laura punched his arm, "Let's go!" Laura shouted as she tried to punch him again, only for it to be caught by Logan. "Do. Not. Hit. Me." Logan said as Laura started to list the names again, only to be interrupted by Logan, "Okay, enough. Enough." Logan said as Laura handed him the reins.

Pierce sat up in a makeshift hospital bed, hooked to an IV, and bandages covering his wounds, and a pile of burned skin laid in the corner, Incursios key stored on the left of his bed. His stubbed right arm, exposed as he prepares a new mechanical hand to replace his damaged one. After failing to make a repair and tosses the screwdriver back to the nurse, who recoils in fear. "That ain't a torx." Pierce said holding his hand out while looking out the window, seeing Dr. Stylish talking to official Imperial soldiers. "That's a phillips head. I need a torx." "This one?" The nurse asked as Pierce changed his view towards her, "Or this one? They look the same to me." "Give me the dam'd toolbox." Pierce said with a scowl as the nurse handed him the toolbox. Pierce then started to work on his synthetic right hand, fixing it in a few seconds. After Pierce moves in fingers, ensuring that all of the gears were in working order, he grabbed an evidence folder. Opening it, he saw Laura's sketch, along with Laione, another nurse, and the other X-23 kids. Flipping it over, he saw something that made him both smile and fill with rage, destroying the picture in the process. "Wow, responsive." the nurse said from slightly behind Pierce. "Y-y-your hand." The nurse said, trying to cover up what she saw. "Get the fuck outta 'ere!" Pierce shouted as he threw the toolbox at the nurse, hitting her square in the spine, "This shit's classified. Or do ya wanna die?" "I saw nothing!" the nurse said running out of the room as Pierce muttered to himself.

Dr. Stylish walked through an abandoned complex followed by an Imperial Major. As Stylish walked through the complex, he attempted to lose the Major and soldiers following him by walking through thick plastic barriers into a large room with dead bodies covered in more plastic. "We understand the importance of containment, Dr. Stylish." The major said as he relentlessly followed Stylish. "But we are not that far from the Capitol." "I know." Stylish responded. "And I eliminated the last of that god-damned Night Raid. Which you, and your predecessors, failed to do for the last century!" "And we greatly appreciate that but you can't just leave destruction in your wake like you did with that mining town all those years ago." the Major said as he realized he was walking into a giant morgue, filled with the children victims of Stylish's attacks. Along with these bodies are the lifeless corpses of Will, Logue, and Bors scattered among them. "I'd appreciate it, Major," Stylish said in an aggressive manner, "if you and your men would stop staring at my dead assets. Try to remind yourselves that these children were all little devils. Killing machines, if you will, who would have happily disemboweled your entire family." "Not all." the major said as Dr. Stylish spun around filled with rage. "I was told you want these assets of board," Dr. Stylish shouted, "dead OR alive! Are you trying to change my brief?! ARE YOU?!" "N-no." the Major said reluctantly. "Okay." Dr. Stylish said with a giant smile, "Now, LEAVE! GOOD BYE! FUCK OFF!" As the vile doctor shouted this the Major and his men were forced out of the building. As Dr. Stylish walked back into the building, Dorothea's and Tamashi's bodies, curled in balls, burned to a crisp. "Save tissue from these two." Stylish said passing the bodies and leaving the building, "The girl has a unique teigu that we can use, and the boy has a high IQ, Spectator seems to have imprinted into him." Dr. Stylish then walked into the building where Pierce was resting in the bed. "You're awake." Dr. Stylish said entering the room and taking a seat next to him. "Lookie what I found." Pierce said handing him the paper in the file, "Found it at the farmhouse. I know it's her, but the other side's the important one." As Doctor Stylish turned over the paper, he read the coordinates written on the back. "Them coordinates belong to a small town near the sea." Pierce said with a smirk, "We can send some men down there, get some info, an' burn it to the ground. Them coordinates were in some Night Raid manga I used to read as a little kid before I started training under Lady Ubiquitous. Pretty sure Laione loved that shit." "Then let's ask her colleague." Dr. Stylish said getting up from the chair. "Doc." Pierce said reaching out with a burned hand, "Ya got any shit to fix these burns?" "I'll make a batch." Dr. Stylish responded as he left the room. "After I speak with Laiones colleague."

Dr. Stylish then walked to a guarded and locked door and opened it with ease, seeing a frightened western girl cowering in fear in the corner of the room. "Hello Maria." Dr. stylish said as the girl moved farther back into the corner, "I understand that your mother and son are safe in the Capital, being looked after by some affiliates of mine." "W-what more do you want from me?!" Maria cried, fear masking her voice. "Some information." Dr. Stylish said as he threw a piece of paper towards her, seeing this she recoiled in fear, recognizing the coordinates on the paper, "Connect the fucking dots dear." Maria looked up to Stylish, filled with fear, as Dr. Smiles just smiled. On the outside of the room the guards stepped away from the door as the sounds of screams could be heard from inside. Moments later, Stylish walked out, blood soaked into his purple gloves. "Clean up this mess," Dr. Stylish said as he smirked, "and cut the loose ends."

On the road, Logan is drifting to sleep behind the reins of their stolen carriage. Laura shoved him, waking him up and pulling the carriage back on the road. "Let me drive." Laura said to Logan's disapproval. "No." Logan said with a tired voice, "Absolutely not." Laura looks at her father. He's barely awake, and barely alive at that. Blood running down his arm from unhealed cuts from his arm. "Quit staring." Logan said as he turned to see Laura staring at him. "You're dying." Laura said as Logan looked away from her, "You want to die. Liliruca told me." "What else did my family tell you?" Logan asked in a demanding tone. "They told me to not let you." Laura said as she grabbed the reins and moved the carriage to the shoulder of the road. "What the hell?!" Logan shouted as he pulled back on the reins, slowing the horse down. "Rest." Laura said as Logan scowled as the sun started to set. "Fine." Logan said as he closed his eyes and fell asleep. As Logan slept, Laura grabbed the reins and started to drive the carriage off towards their destination.

The suns rays glared down on Logan's face as he woke up, disarrayed by his location. Looking around, he found himself and the carriage stuck in a ditch away from the road, further down a rough dirt path, a few hundred yards away, Laura is yelling and waving at him to come with her. "Come! Come!" She shouted with genuine joy in her voice. He sees her smile for the first time. The resemblance to Akame is now even more prominent, the beautiful looks of her mother glowing like a star. Logan stumbled out of the cart, and closer to Laura. He's overwhelmed by the nature around him, it looked just like the passage in the manga. Logan continued to walk forward, only for his legs to give way as he blacked out.

The sudden jerkings of a makeshift elevator brought Logan back to consciousness, he looks to the side and sees that he is almost a hundred feet into the air, suspended only by an old rope the creaked under his weight, he tried to move but found himself bound to the boards. As Logan made it to the top, he noticed that he was hauled up by a bunch of children, each with their own unique looks. Some of them older and others younger than Laura, each of them being one of the children made by Dr. Stylish's experiments. Among them was a dark skinned boy, Bobby, 10 years old, who clings on to a figure of Logan's beast form, a silver-haired girl, Rebecca, 12, A dark-eyed, light blue-haired, Delilah, with a weird symbol on her chest, which is slightly larger than the other girls, 13, a blonde boy with angelic wings, Jonah, and Rictor, 14, the natural leader. Behind Rictor, a sign over the door said 'Yoshimatsu Family.' The house itself resembled that of the one in the manga written by Lubbock, as if he spent a lot of time there. As Logan is set on the ground he looks at all of the children staring back at him, before his eyes roll back into his head and he blacks out, hearing the children shout.

The flicker of candles gave enough light to wake Logan from his unconscious state. Logan found himself on a bed, his body weak, and his eyes heavy. He looks over to see the children, along with others that were hiding inside as he was brought up, the children were either sleeping, reading, or simply busy doing chores or tending to Logan. Delilah had brought him a wet cloth to cool him down, breathing on it with her cryogenic breath, creating an ice-pack for his damaged ribs. "Where am I?" Logan asked as he saw Jonah placing plants in a bowl. "Is this good, Rictor?" Jonah asked as the leader looked over his shoulder at the bowl. "A little less of the purple flowers." Rictor said as he pulled out one of the purple flowers from the bowl as Jonah started to mix the concoction. "What are you making?" Logan asked as Jonah finished mixing the solution and handed it to Rictor who started to tip it towards Logan. "Where did you get that recipe?" Logan asked stopping the bowl after seeing a yellow liquid in the bowl, scaring some the children into moving back away from him. "I," Rictor stuttered before recollecting himself, "I watched people make it when we were there. It makes you stronger." "No it doesn't." Logan responded, "It was meant to heal, and if done wrong, it WILL kill you." "We've used it before," Rictor responded, pouring a drop of the liquid on Logans torso, "it hasn't killed one of us yet." "Where's Laura?" Logan asked as he tried to sit up. "She's asleep." Bobby answered, speaking to Logan for the first time, not knowing who he was, "Do you want me to wake her?" "No." Logan said as he laid back down and fell asleep.

POV: Logan's mind

"Listen everyone!" Najeda shouted as we all stood in front of the barred-off Capital entrance, half of an army behind us, as the other half was on the other side. "Akame, you and Y/n are to take on Esdeath, the strongest in the Capital. Bulat, you and Tatsumi are to keep the soldiers and General Budo off their backs. Lubbock, you are to watch for reinforcements while keeping Mine while she takes out the reinforcements, if any, and protect our men and women from sneak attacks." "YES MA'AM!!" We all shouted as we split off onto the Capital to reclaim our freedom.

"Now we're serious." I said turning towards the ice fighter as a shard of metal landed in front of me. Turning around I saw Akame frozen in a massive block of ice with Murasame missing it's tip and shards scattered in the ice.

Logan woke up with a scream, startled over his repeated nightmare. He was alone in the room, aside from Laura, who was tending to his wounds that weren't healed. "Nightmares." Laura said as she cleaned off the towel, "You had a nightmare." "You have nightmares?" Logan asked looking at her. "People hurt me." she responded with a nod. "Mine are different." Logan said quietly. "How so?" Laura asked in a calm manner as she poured a portion of the same yellow liquid onto the towel. "I hurt people." Logan said as Laura placed the towel over his wounds, taking in what Logan said. A few seconds later she reaches into her bag and pulls out the tip of a broken sword. "What's this?" Laura asks as she showed the broken weapon to Logan. "I guess you don't know what it is." Logan said sitting up as he carefully takes it from her, "This, is a broken piece of the Demon Sword Murasame. This sword has a curse; any cut, no matter how minor, is undoubtedly lethal, the One Cut Killer. Your mother, Akame, was the last wielder of that sword before it was shattered a century ago. That curse now runs through your veins. I grabbed it as I ran from the final battle. I, I guess I kept it as a reminder of who I was." Logan then looked at Laura with a great sadness in his eye, "Actually, I guess I kept it so I could join her. Like Liliruca and my other relatives said." Laura's smile faded. "I've hurt people too." she said as Logan looked away. "And you're gonna have to learn to live with that." Logan said staring into the sky. "They were bad people." Laura said, "All the same." Logan responded as he closed his eyes, the broken piece of Murasame still in his open palm. Laura cautiously grabbed it as Logan fell asleep.

Logan woke up to the sounds of children playing soccer outside. As he looked he saw a small girl wearing a beanie kick the ball before shouting. "L'Arc Qui Ne Faut!" The young girl shouted as the ball immediately changed direction, and landing in the makeshift goal. "Come on, Lynn!" another girl said from the goal, "We agreed, no powers!" Other kids started to run up, Jonah created a gust of wind, separating the two girls from fighting, "Both of you stop." Jonah said in a calm voice. "Cut the shit." Rictor said in a commanding tone as he pushed the girls apart. Logan lies back down in the bed, still weak from his wounds, but in far better condition. Logan smirks as he falls back asleep.

"Come on Akame," I said as her and I ran through the brush following behind a quadrant of Revolutionary Army soldiers, "we don't want to be too far behind them." "I'm coming," Akame said holding her stomach, "I still don't feel too well." "But you've vomited up every bit of your breakfast," I said as we stopped to talk in private, "along with Mine's share since she didn't wake up in time to eat." "Y/n," Akame said out of breath, placing both hands on her lower stomach, "when this is all said and done, let's come out about us being in a relationship." "I'm sure they already know." I said before I kissed her. "Let's head back Wolvie." Akame said with a smirk as she ran past. "You got that from Leone didn't you!" I said running after her.

"Akame, Y/n" Najeda said as we arrived to the rendezvous point, "You two are late. What happened?" "I still wasn't feeling well from breakfast." Akame answered, "Y/n was making sure I would not get behind." "Listen everyone!" Najeda shouted as we all stood in front of the barred-off Capital entrance, half of an army behind us, as the other half was on the other side. Logan lies slightly asleep in a dark room, Bobby, the youngest and most childish of the group, slowly and cautiously approaching Logan still holding his figure of Logan's beast form. Logan looked up, seeing the young boy approach him. Bobby held up his figure, expecting a reaction from his hero. "Were the Black Horseman and the Deformed man real?" Bobby asked as Logan grew a confused expression, "What?" Logan asked as he started piecing the dots together. "Laura said that you said all the stories in the manga were lies." "Not all of them." Logan said leaning his neck back, his neck cracking with it finally moving for the first time in a while. "Not entirely, the Black Horseman and the Deformed man were real. They trained with me when I was younger. Nothing like what you kids have been through however." "Did mean things happen?" Bobby asked, a very faint sparkle in his eye. "Yes." Logan answered, not wanting to recollect on the warranted deaths of his siblings. "But now you're doing good things!" Bobby happily said. "Kid," Logan said looking at the young dark skinned boy and looking away, "I don't know what I'm doing." As Bobby left, slightly saddened at his heros confusion.

A large dust cloud covered a convoy of Stylish's army as they approached the small town where Logan learned of the villa in the mountains. Some of the townsfolk tried to flee, but were chased down by small danger beast and slaughtered them without a second thought. "Make sure no one leaves!" Pierce shouted from his horse up front as other soldiers spread around the town. A small veil of smoke surrounded Pierce and he emerged in Incursio's armor. As Pierce and his men dismounted their horses and started to take over the town, capturing the women, elderly, and children, and killing the men who fought back.

After a short while of capturing and slaughtering of the townspeople, Dr. Stylish emerged from his carriage and entered the mayor's office. "So, you're the man in charge here?" Dr. Stylish said as some of his soldiers held up an elderly man, who had already taken a beating. "So what?" the man weakly muttered as he looked up the meet Stylish's gaze, "I run the town, what the travelers do is none of my business." "You see," Dr. Stylish said with an evil grin, "that's where you're wrong. We've gathered information that points exactly to your town." "We get tourists," the elderly mayor said as Stylish walked over to a small painting, "that's natural as a beachside town." "I never said we were after people." Dr. Stylish pointed out as he stared at the painting in front of him. "So what do you know about them?" "I don't know anything." the mayor said quickly, "They came and left, I didn't talk to them." "Well, I'm sure you know something." Stylish said as he walked back towards the mayor, "And I know how to get the information I want." As Stylish said that the mayor grew a stern, unbreakable expression. "Do you know how many parts there are to the human body?" Stylish asked as he reached into his bag and rummaged around, "There's around 206, and only a fraction of them are vital." "Break me all you want, I won't talk." the mayor said as Stylish pulled out a large tool. "Ohhoho." Stylish laughed, "I will."

After a few moments of screaming from the mayor's office, Pierce ran in to contact his boss. "Doc," Pierce said, watching as Stylish effortlessly destroyed the bones, piece by piece, in the mayors legs, "I got somethin'. Out near the mountains, there's an ol' mansion. The perfect place for a hideout." "What about it?!" Stylish shouted as he stopped torturing the mayor. "The ol' doctor in the town finally gave in." Pierce said with a smirk, "Said a bunch'a kids went that way, along with an older man and little girl matchin' the description of our targets. If we leave now we can catch 'em at night without any resistance." "No." Stylish said as he turned to face Pierce, "We'll travel out towards their destination and kill them and the sympathizers at the same time." "Shall I?" Pierce said as he walked towards the mayor, ready to torture him. "No." Stylish responded, "I'll do it. Now mayor, if you tell us what we want, you and your town can live just that little bit longer." "I feel like I have no choice." the mayor said, seeing as he was out of options, "In the forest near the old mansion, there's a shorter part of the sea leading to Wakoku. The next ship is set to sail tomorrow." "Thank you." Stylish said as he shoved the mayor to the ground. "Burn the town. LEAVE NOTHING STANDING!" "But you promised!" the mayor said in a panic, trying to move towards Stylish, only to be stopped by his destroyed legs as well as the soldiers on either side of him. "I did didn't I." Stylish laughed, "Well, I lied. Kill this one first." "With pleasure doc." Pierce said as he stabbed his sword into the majors head, the faint embers of a fire forming in the window. Those faint embers grew to a massive inferno as Stylish and his men left the town, leaving the injured and scared townspeople along with members of the incineration squad, proving to be the source of the flame.

Najeda shouted as we all stood in front of the barred-off Capital entrance, half of an army behind us, as the other half was on the other side. I overheard Bulat give Tatsumi Incursio as a sign of reaching manhood as Akame and I split off from their group.

"Now we're serious." I said turning towards the ice fighter as a shard of metal landed in front of me. Turning around I saw Akame frozen in a massive block of ice with Murasame missing it's tip and shards scattered in the ice.

"Gotta run." I frantically said as I ran through the woods outside the Capital. "What do you plan to do my son?" I heard a voice say as I stopped running and saw my father, standing behind me, arms crossed in a disappointing manner. "I, I don't know." I said looking at the tip of Murasame. "I might just stab myself with this and end it." "Don't!" Umber said as she appeared in front of me, grabbing the blade, "You have so much you can do. If the idea dies, all of this will be for nothing." "It is for nothing." I responded in an agitated tone, "We lost, that's final." "You weren't the only one on the team were you?" Mudai asked sarcastically, "Look for them. I doubt they would have ran too far away." "What do I do if I find them?" I asked as I sat on the ground, completely hopeless. "Listen to Uncle Jamo," Jamo said slapping me in the back of my head, "when you find them, collect troops and fight back! It's that simple." "It's not!" I shouted causing Uncle Jamo to jump. "Uncle." Lili said as she grabbed my free hand, "There are others who made it out. If you can find them, you can regain your strength and troops to fight again another day."

POV: None

Logan grumbled awake as he heard the sound of snipping and laughter. As he opened his eyes, all he saw were the children standing around his cot, Laura among them, all with glowing smiles on their faces. As Logan sat up, Laura slide, rather unsuccessfully, to the back of the group and Bobby and Rebecca hide a pair of scissors behind their back. As Logan gets out of his bed, he looks at his reflection in a mirror. He realized that the kids had gone and shaved his beard to form mutton chops, removing the moustache and soul patch. As he touches his face, he realizes that the impromptu shave was rather clean. "Not funny." Logan said, ignoring the cleanliness of the shave, "Not funny at all." As Logan looks back at the crowd he sees Rictor frantically run through the building, grabbing items left, right, and center. "Hey!" Logan shouts, scaring off the children, "Pal, how long have I been out?" Rictor didn't answer, only walking outside to be followed by Logan.

Rictor walks past Jonah, who is busy packing a bag, as if they were preparing for a great exodus into the unknown. "Hey." Logan said as he passed Jonah and reached Rictor, resting a hand on his shoulder. "What?" Rictor asked as he removed Logan's hand. "How long have I been in that bed?" "About a day." Rictor responded to the surprise of Logan. "You've been here for a day?" Logan shouted "Do you fools plan on staying here forever? Because you can't!" "We aren't." Rictor helpfully said, "We HAD to wait. We wanted to save everyone we could. Everyone had until tomorrow to get here." "Why don't you fools leave," Logan said as Rictor climbed into a watch tower, "If you don't you all will die. These assholes will kill you." "What the fuck do you think we're doing asshole." Rictor said as he reached the top of the tower, "We leave tomorrow at dawn." "To Wakoku?" Logan asked as Rictor responded with a thumbs up. Logan then walked to Laura and the other children who were busy either packing or mourning those who had failed to make it on time.

Rictor looked out past the hose as he saw smoke rise from the village that showed them to the mansion. "Jonah!" Rictor shouted, "Check that out!" "You got it!" Jonah shouted as he flew up into the air, peering at the village far away, seeing the village burning to the ground. "It's burning Rictor." Jonah said as he started to hover in front of Rictor. "What are we going to do?" "Leave." Rictor said before looking towards the others, "We leave tomorrow by dawn! The village that guided us here is burning! We don't have much time." Everyone doubled their pace as Logan and Laura climbed into the tower "You don't have time for this!" Logan shouted as Rictor looked back at him. "We're children," Ricor responded looking back at the passage ahead of them, "we don't have the training to send the information of an early launch. Even if we did, it's too late. It's a ten mile hike through the forest. See that pass?" As Rictor said this Laura nodded and looked through a telescope. Logan peered in the same direction, seeing mountains forming a pathway towards what looked to be the ocean on the other side. "That's where we'll be picked up." Rictor said as Logan slightly calmed down. "It could be better," Logan said calmly, "but given the circumstances it's good." "Come with me." Rictor said to Logan as Laura carefully watched, waiting for his reaction.

Logan followed Rictor into a back room, limping slightly from his wounds, he stop when Rictor reaches the closet he was led to. "Laura told me all you did for her." Rictor said as he reached into the closet, "She was lucky to have you. Not everyone was so lucky. We lost quite a few in the early stages of the escape." Logan looks back at Laura for a second. She is still watching him like a hawk. When Logan turns back around, Rictor is holding out a bag of gold coins, which catches Logan's eye. "Keep it." Logan said as he ignored the gold, "Use it for supplies and whatever you guys need over there." "Laura says it's yours." Rictor responded as he ushered the bag towards Logan. "Yeah." Logan said pushing the bag back, "Well. Look. I don't need this. You do. For supplies. Buy her some fresh meat." Rictor stares at him for a second before solemnly nodding. "You really act like her father." Rictor said as he left the room.

Later that night, the children sat outside around a campfire perched on their bags eager for their trip and praying that the others will make it in time. Inside Logan sits on a cot, tying his boots. As he looks outside, he receives a faint flashback of him and the members of Night Raid, as nostalgia rushes over him. Seeing the children chat, two of them goofing off with their powers, the laughter flowing about, eased him. He then looked over to Laura, who still watched him like a hawk. "They seem nice." Logan admitted, "the kinda remind me-" as Logan said this Laura got up and marched off, shocking Logan. Logan grabs her arm as she is about to leave the building. "What's going on with you?" Logan asked as he dragged her back to his cot. Laura ignored him, yanking her arm free. "Hey." Logan said in an irritated tone, "I asked you a question. What are you pissed about? You're with your friends, you made it." "And where will you go?" Laura asked, her voice cracking ever so slightly. Logan smiled hearing this, remembering Akame and the few times she cracked her voice, "Maybe I'll head to a bar." Logan said as Laura stared at her, tears starting to for as she turns to exit. "What, you thought I was coming along?" Laura looks back at him, this time with anger in her eyes, "Yes." she replied, "I did." "That isn't my point." Logan responded, "It was never part of the deal. I got you this far, that's all I signed up for. I gave back the money." "Such a nice man." Laura snarked as she started to walk off. "I'm old." Logan said looking down, "I would just hold you kids back. Besides you've got Bobby, Rictor, Delilah, Rebecca, blah blah whoever. I suck at this. Bad things come to those I care for. Hell, everyone else I ever cared about has been killed or died." "Then I will be fine." Laura said with her voice now back to normal as she walked off. Logan released his breath as he resisted the urge to chase after her. He slams his door as he enters his room. "Why couldn't I say what I wanted to say?" Logan asked himself as he laid on his bed, "I'm staying back because I can hold off whoever is after them." Logan wiped away a single tear as he peacefully fell asleep, for the first time in a century. Laura stepped near the cliffs edge, looking at the stars in the night sky. She wipes away the tears that formed in her eyes. She looked back at Logans door, then turned to join her friends with their happy cheers at the campfire.

Logan hears nothing as he wakes up. No laughter, no bickering, nothing. As he looks around his room, he sees a vile of the yellow potion made by the children. Beside it was a note, "Don't use it all at once. -Rictor" Logan rushes out realizing that the children had left without notifying him, including Laura. He makes his way towards the tower, trying to find any evidence of where the children went. As he looked out towards the mountains he sees the small sliver of ocean, and remembers that the children were headed that way. Logan was about to exit the tower when he hears a light tone in the direction of the children, right before a blood curdling scream. As Logan rushes to the telescope, he looks out and fines a mass of black, recognizing it to be a convoy of the Imperial Army, or at least the faction working with Stylish Industries. Logan ran back into the building, only to grab the yellow potion vial and run back out after the children.

Logan, after running for three straight miles, he stopped to catch his breath at a tree, his wounds starting to reopen. He then started to hear faint screams of both men and children, followed by a bolt, whizzing past his ear. Logan fell as the bolt cut lightly into his cheek. He looks at the vile of potion, his vision fading as he opens it and pours it on his bare skin. His wounds heal, not as fast as they used to, but he is healed within a matter of seconds. He then drinks the last ounce of the potion, screaming as his rage fuels inside him. Logan's eyes go wide as he struggled to maintain his human form.

Stylish's men are having a free-for-all as they descend upon their prey, the children fleeing in different directions, praying to find cover in the maze of trees as arrows, bolts, and bullets whiz by and lodge themselves into trees. All of the children, including Laura are running for their lives. Jonah spreads his wings as he attempts to fly away from the chasing soldier. As he glides away he looks back at the soldier lowering his crossbow, looking ahead of him a man in silver armor with golden eyes appears before him. Pierce then knocks him down to the ground and stabs his spear into Jonah's wing as the woods fill with his screams of pain. "Take him in." Pierce said with a vial of smoke around him.

A second group of soldiers surround two smaller children. The first disappears in a cloud of purple smoke, only to appear in front of one of the soldiers that surrounded them. The other child then whistles before fighting back against the soldiers and giving them quite the fight before they were gunned down in a flurry of bullets, arrows, and bolts.

Stylish is seen riding along through the forest with a few other soldiers on horseback attempting to keep up with his other soldiers as they hunted down the children. "Move faster!" Stylish shouted as he pushed his horse onward. "We can't let them reach the ocean!"

Lynn stands with her back to a tree as she is cornered by the soldiers advancing on her position. She grabs a fairly sized rock and throws it. The soldiers laugh as they see the rock fly past their face. "L'Arc Qui Ne Faut!" she shouted, confusing the soldiers before the stone ran into the back of one of the soldier's neck, causing the other to tackle her and attempt to capture her. Laura, upon seeing this, dashes in with her claws drawn and the curse mark showing in full detail. She then slices the soldiers that surrounded Lynn before pouncing upon the one shackling her and killing him instantly. Laura then busted open the shackles and helped Lynn up before fleeing. "Ella! Run faster! Run!" Laura said as she was shot in the leg with a bolt, stumbled and healed, continuing to run with a light limb. Laura turns her head and sees that Lynn has fallen. She had also been shot with a bolt. This time the mark was hit, killing her instantly. Laura discovered this as she dragged her behind a tree for cover. "Lynn!" She cried as tears filled her eyes. The soldiers started to converge on her position as they heard more cries and gunshots from behind them.

Logan, now in his beast form is running through the woods on all four limbs, hacking, slashing, and tearing through the soldiers and small trees before him. The soldiers that noticed him fired at him to no bonus. The potion jump-started his healing as he changed towards them, stabbing them with the arrows and bolts that penetrated his skin. Logan had single-handedly overtaken the small army of Dr. Stylish that had given the children trouble. The young Bobby is running in terror, trying to hide behind a tree with every chance he gets. As he runs, he failed to see a root in front of him causing him to fall. Reflexively, he rolled onto his back and tried to scurry his way backwards as he watched the soldiers aim their weapons at him and readied the restraints to catch the young boy. Suddenly, the rear-most guard is stabbed, with three bone claws appeared through his chest before being torn in two. The other guards turned around only to see their death come to them in a flurry of slashes. As Bobby looks, in terror for his own life, sees Logan's beast form standing over him. Logan smirks slightly before running back off into the woods, ready to defend the other children.

Gideon, a young boy with long white hair, sees as a small group of ten soldiers approach him with weapons drawn and aimed at him, causing his eyes to dilate and he grew to twice his size, standing above the soldiers who stood before him. Gideon then grabbed the nearest soldier and proceeded to beat every other soldier with the flailed soldier, killing them all before ripping the final soldier in half and stopping on his torso, killing him instantly.

Delilah is pinned to a tree by a soldier who is licking his lips while looking at her breast that are slightly exposed. As the soldier reaches towards her shirt Delilah freezes his arm and breaks it with her free hand. She watches as the soldier screams before deciding to end his suffering with a cryogenic breath attack to the face. As she did this, she failed to notice the other soldiers come up and restrain her. After putting her in the restraints the soldiers talk amongst themselves as to what they would do with her. "If even one'a y'all tries to taint the samples," Pierce said appearing in the middle of the group and taking Delilah away, "I'll cut it off myself and tell the doc to not reattach it."

Logan rushes up to see Lynn's dead body, her eyes closed and arms crossed. Looking around he sees the bodies of two soldiers, each with two slash marks parallel with each other, the signature mark of Laura. He then sees a small collection of blood and inspects it. After smelling it, he identifies Laura as the source. Reverting to his normal form, he runs in the direction of the blood and eventually finds Pierce and Dr. Stylish talking at the head of the convy. Pierce then turns and meets Logan's eyes, he signals towards the bush and a large collection of electric are fired towards Logan. Logan is launched backwards as the resulting explosion in the brush sends a bit of shrapnel into his limbs. He watches as the convoy continues to move after the other children, the few they captured being dragged along in shackles. As Logan pulled himself up off the ground, he saw Laura being chased by soldiers who attempted to capture her.

Laura slashes at the soldiers as they approach her. The ones unlucky enough to get cut dying immediately as the poison ravages their body. She hers a primal howl as she is forced back to a small boulder. Looking towards the source of the cry, she sees Logan rushing towards her and her would be assailants, his now green eyes looking like they were on fire. As soon as Logan reaches her, the duo enter a fight in complete harmony. Each slash and stab being sent out as if only one of them was fighting. After creating a small bloodbath of the soldiers the duo then followed the convoy further down the path. As they neared the convoy, Logan's old age got the better of him, as well as a soldier getting a cheap shot in with a small war hammer. As he fell to his knees, tired from healing and all the running he had done in the last moments of the fight. "Run Laura! NOW!" Logan shouted as he saw Laura turn towards him. Laura then dashed towards Logan, she then lunged above Logan and stabbed straight into the torso of the attacking soldier. As Laura helps Logan up, she realized what he's done. "You took all the medicine." She said looking at Logans wounds heal faster than they have been in the days prior. "Yeah." Logan said wincing in pain as he looked into her eyes. "It's wearing off." She added as Logan regained his breath and the duo ran back off after the convoy.

The children all run away from the convoy with Rictor in the back. As Rictor looked behind him, he saw a white fist meet his face knocking him to the ground before the boot of the same figure jabs into his arm, pinning it to the ground. In the distance Logan and Laura watch as Rictor is taken down. "Go to your friends Laura." Logan weakly said as Laura starts to walk off towards the other children, "You'll know when." Logan said seeing a nod before she ran off. Logan then ran towards the convoy to stop them.

Laura crawled through the woods towards her captured friends. She sees two soldiers standing on top of a carriage overlooking the children and two more on the ground standing nearby. As Laura looks back to the center of the conflict she sees Pierce, still in his armor, throws a beaten and bloody Rictor to the ground as his armor vanishes in a vial of smoke. The convoy comes to a stop behind Pierce as Logan appears before them, low on breath. "That potion of yer's wearin' down ain't it?" Pierce said as Logan started to regain his breath, "For an ol' man like you, that's a short high. Gonna be hard to keep them claws up soon." "WASTE THIS DICK LOGAN!" Rictor shouted while attempting to trash away from his captor. "Shut up shithead." Pierce said has he knocked out the childrens leader and Dr. Stylish jumped off his horse to speak to Logan. "Please stop, Mr. Howlett, or should I say Mr. L/n?" Dr. Stylish said getting a scowl from Logan who stepped closer, "If you step any closer my men will not hesitate to fire upon these children, before turning their fire upon you. I can see that the potions effects have worn off. You will not survive any further wounds."

Logan growls as he looks at Stylish. Out of his prefieals he sees Laura continuing to encircle the soldiers who look over her friends. "Do you not recognize me Logan?" Dr. Stylish said with a smug grin, "I am the great Dr. Stylish. You worked with me and my former employer for the Jaegers." "She's the bitch who killed my family." Logan said as his rage started to boil inside him. "She was." Stylish added, "But she was not the only one." "I've killed the others." Logan said with a scowl, "She's the only one left." "She's been dead for quite a while now," Stylish responded, "time comes for everyone." "Shit." Pierce said quickly, "You're lookin' at the man who destroyed the main force of Night Raid after the battle for the Capital." "My friend Donald overstates." Dr. Stylish stated as he fixed his tie, "I have my men to thank for that victory. I never really assumed we had to wipe out all of Night Raid, I wanted some of them for... personal reasons. As we tortured you leader, I realised that we didn't need to focus on forging Teigu, when we could infuse them to us." As Stylish spoke, Laura snuck up on the soldiers on the carriage, ready for the kill. "Now, this idea could not be done openly." Stylish said as he slicked back his hair, "So we had to take women who wouldn't be missed. After taking the western refugees and what few POWs we had remaining, we decided it was time for experimentation." "So you created weapons." Logan said as he saw Laura draw her claws, the curse mark for and her left eye turns vibrant green. "Times are dangerous, Logan." Pierce said as Logan held his hands out towards Dr. Stylish and Pierce. "We cain't trust fate to-"

As Pierce said this beams of energy left Logans fingertips and entering Dr. Stylish while leaving an imprint of the big dipper in the Incursio armor that immediately formed on Pierce who watches as Dr. Stylish slumps to the ground. "Yeah, dangerous. Tenha Kassatsu. [Heaven Breaking Impalement]" Logan said as his hands fell by his side, tired from using the Hokuto for the first time in a century. The two soldiers being stalked by Laura reached for their weapons only to have Laura slit their throats. As this happened Pierce ran back towards the convoy, jumped on a large carriage, and began to shout towards the rest of the convoy. "Party time lads!" Pierce shouted as he drew a sword and cut at a lock, causing the 'beast' inside to burst out. X-24, the beast in the carriage, rushes and slashes at Logan, who still had his hands by his side from a lack of energy. After a second of rest, Logan draws his claws and enters a bloody and feral battle as Laura watches with a terrified expression.

Logan struggles to keep his ground against X-24. The curse of time may have given Logan the disadvantage against the primal version of himself. The commotion caused the two soldiers watching over the children to change their targets to Logan and X-24. As this happens a third soldier aims a crossbow at Logan, but before he could fire Laura suddenly takes him out and breaks the crossbow. As the two guards charge their guns Bobby, who had seen them fire at Logan, makes his way over towards the carriage. He watched, activating his powers as the bolts leave the barrels. The bolts turned around and hit the guards killing them instantly. He smiles as Laura comes up to him and the other children and starts to free them one by one.

Laura looks back at the battle going on only to watch as Logan gets thrown like a ragdoll into an iron carriage, sending the door inside the carriage. Logan wearily gets up and grabs the door, slamming it into X-24's head and knocking him to the ground before holding the weight of the iron door on X-24s neck. As X-24 hits the ground he sees the dead body of Dr. Stylish lying in the ground in front Rictor, who had recently come back to consciousness. "Get up!" Pierce shouted to X-24, "Get up, boy! That's right! He killed your daddy!" X-24 howled in rage as he pushed against Logan, breaking the elders grip. X-24 roars as he tears Logan off of his back, throwing the old man away past part of the convoy. "Laura! No!" Rictor cries out as X-24 walks towards his prey. Laura then leapt on to X-24s back and slashed at his back. Logan then slowly got up and tried to walk towards her. Pierce then grabbed a crossbow and fired at Logan. The bolt penetrated Logans calf, revealing itself to be a small harpoon, restricting his movements to barely be able to get any closer to Laura or X-24. Pierce smirks as he ties the harpoon into the top of the carriage and jumps off.

As Pierce lands on the ground, he is greeted by the eyes of all of the now freed children. Their rage barely hidden behind their young eyes. "Now, now." Pierce said as he held up his hands, "We ain't gotta kill each other. I just got a job to do." The children then looked at him for a second before using their powers to attack Pierce. Pierce was burned, frozen, electrocuted, stabbed, and encased in the environment all at once. The children didn't react as Pierce cried out in agony, the children's mercy was not wasted on their former oppressor.

After a few seconds of struggling, the bloodied and cut X-24 managed to grab Laura and throw her off his back and into a tree, knocking the wind out of her lungs with a small bit of blood. "Laura!" Rictor shouted as he watched Laura go limp on the ground. With a smirk, X-24 walked towards the weakened Logan. As X-24 stood over Logan, ready to kill his elder when a blade cut through his arm, stopping at the bone. As X-24 looked at his now cut arm, he sees a scythe blade stemming from Rictors torso where his right arm should have been. Enraged, X-24 throws Rictor towards a carriage, before charging in himself. As X-24 lands in the carriage he cries out in pain as Rictor jumps out with each of his limbs shaped like a scythe blade as X-24 was caught in the wreckage of the carriage. Logan then stands up, forcing his way to Laura. "Laura, you need to get out of here." Logan said before looking to the other children, "All of you. Get out of here! Now!"

As Logan shouted that, a loud metallic creaking could be heard coming from the damaged carriage before X-24 emerged from the wreckage with a loud roar. Logan stumbled his way in in between X-24 and the children, ready to fight the unstoppable behemoth. As X-24 rushes at Logan, he slams his claws into Logans chest and dragging him deeper into the forest. "NO!" Laura cries as she watches Logan being dragged away. X-24 heaves Logan up into the air and slams him down on an old, fallen stump, causing a jagged limb to be driven through his torso. Logan howls out in pain as he watches the limb emerge from his torso.

Laura rummages through her bag, searching for something to save Logan. She pulled out the broken tip of Murasame and runs towards Logan and X-24. As Loan lays delirious and losing blood on the limb penetrating his torso, he swipes at the arms of X-24 which are still stuck to his chest. X-24 rams his claws further into Logan's chest and piercing into the stump below him. As Logan screams he watches X-24 raise his claws, ready to strike, when the tip of a katana is rammed through the skull of X-24. He falls to the ground, killed by the curse of a remaining Teigu.

Laura runs to Logan, hacking him free of the limb that held him in place. Logan painfully slide to the ground. He struggles to breathe and his organs are visible from his wound, which isn't healing. Laura's eyes are wild as she sees Logans mortality coming to an end. She cries as she kneels next to him. "No, no, no." Laura says weakly as tears fill her eyes. "Take your friends and run." Logan weakly says as he grabs her hand, "Listen to me, Laura. Run. They'll just keep coming for you." Logan then lightly squeezes her hand, "Don't be what they made you." As Logan lays there the remaining children emerge from the forest and quietly stand in the distance. Logan watches them emerge with his glossy eyes. His body is still. Laura squeezes his bloodied hand as he holds on. "It's okay." Logan said as he looked into Laura's eyes. "No," Laura said as she started to cry, "daddy," Logan looks at her. He takes a short breath, and in his eyes is a faint sparkle. "So this is what it feels like." Logan weakly says and he pulls himself up to meet Laura's eyes, "I wish I had felt it before now." As Logan said this, he kissed his daughters forehead, and layed back on the ground drawing his final breath.

Laura squeezes her father's hand, rejecting his death. The tears now flowing down her face as she rests her head in his chest, praying for the slightest movement, but there is nothing left in him. As Laura lays her head in her father's chest, Rictor and the other children slowly walk up to her. As Rictor lays a hand on her shoulder Laura stands up and turns to face her friends while wiping away her tears. "The world is not perfect and it never has." Laura said as the children looked at her and her newfound strength, "But you can break the mold. "

The children then quickly buried Logan, lowering him into the ground and covering is corpse with dirt and stones. Bobby had made a small cross for his hero's grave. "In this world there are those with power and those who don't." Laura said as the children looked at her, "And those with power have oppressed those who don't for centuries. We will make a change to that formula. We will destroy this Empire, like our ancestors before us." The children then looked to Rictor, "We gotta go," he said, "if we don't live we won't be able to stand a chance." The children then grabbed their bags and ran off towards the ocean. Laura hesitated, unwilling to leave her father. Tearfully she grabs her bag and walks past her father's grave. As she passes, she looks at it and kneels. Praying before she leaves him behind in this unforgiving land. She walks past her father's grave, not looking back until she hears the cry of birds. Looking back, she sees two owls perch on each side of the cross. Laura, upon seeing this, smirks and runs after her friends.

POV: Y/n

I woke up clenching my torso where I felt the limb impale me, only to find no blood. "Just a dream then." I said while calming down. I looked out my window and saw that it was still late at night. I then heard a knocking at my door. "Come in." I said as I rubbed my right eye. As the door opened Akame walked in without Murasame. "Everything alright?" she asked as I got out of bed. "Yeah, just had a bad dream." I said as I grabbed a glass of water. "Alright," Akame responded, "I'm going back to bed." "Wait, Akame." I said as I reached out to her, "I wanted to tell you something." "What is it?" Akame asked as she turned to face me. "I'm sorry for what I said earlier." I said as I looked down, "I spoke too soon and I brought up unwelcomed emotions." "You're fine Y/n." Akame said, as I raised my head. "You followed your heart, so I can't blame you. Maybe someday soon I'll share those feelings." I sighed hearing this, too much has been on my mind recently. "Goodnight Y/n." Akame said as she left my room before I could respond.

POV: Akame

I left Y/n's room after I told him goodnight. Hearing him say 'I love you' is something I never thought I'd hear. If I stayed in there, I thought, I would have told him what he doesn't need to hear. I wanted to tell him, but now it might break his heart.

Aaaand done. WOW, that took longer than I thought. 29,951 words, [give or take a few from this paragraph] 47 pages and possibly three months of writing, including the Christmas break. If you did make it to this part, thank you for sticking with me through all of this and I have a question; Y'all want a spinoff?

I mentioned that Logan's [Y/n's] mind was entered multiple times. This is because in the script for Logan, it starts by talking about Logan having PTSD, which I suffer from [frankly not as much as I used to] and it often affects my dreams. So I made Logan relive the final battle in his dreams, only remembering more as time progressed. A sign of him accepting the past and it's consequences.

Now, while I wrote this [and I know it's late] Stan Lee had passed away. The loss saddened us all. He was a man of unfathomable creativity, I could never imagine my creativity being on a level in the same realm as his. His talent is an unattainable goal. To guys like me, who loved comics in general, he was a legend.

After all this, good luck with school and life. I hope y'all stay safe in this confusing word. Go out and do some good. I'll see y'all next time

Stan Lee: EXCELSIOR!!!
