POV: Y/n (Kakoshi)

I woke up in the morning to fix breakfast, only to find the Kurome was sleeping grabbing me like a body pillow. When I got out of bed I heard her mutter, “No Y/n don’t leave me, I love you.” As I heard that, I covered her back up and kissed her forehead. “Kurome,” I said quietly, “I will protect you and keep you safe asif you were my own daughter.” I then got dressed and left to fix breakfast. “Mornin’ Bols.” I said walking into the kitchen. “Good morning Y/n,” Bols said filleting the fish Wave brought, “Okay,” I started, “How many fish did wave bring?” “He brought a lot.” Bols said as I started mixing biscuits, “Hey Y/n, would you mind teaching me that recipe sometime.” “No problem pardner.” I said handing him my notebook with the recipe in it, “These were the recipes given to me by my mom, ya can borrow it fer a while.” Just then I heard a knocking at the door, “Who would be at the door at this hour?” I asked Bols as he opened the door, “My girls.” He replied as a blonde woman and child walked into the room. “I must have left my lunch at home.” “So this is yer fam’ly.” I said having the little girl run up to me. “Are you a cowboy?” she asked gawking at my hat, “Why, yes ma’am I am.” I said squatting down and setting my hat on her head, “Can you teach me how to ride a pony?” She asked. “Haha, one day young one.” I said getting back to my cooking. “Now sweetie.” Bols started, “Don’t annoy Y/n too much.” “I won’t papa.” She said heading back to her mother. “By honey I wish we had more time to see you, but we need to be heading home.” Bols wife said as the two of them left. “Them seem’d nice.” I said, “I see why ya love them.” “Thank you Y/n.” Bols replied setting his lunch on the table.

Just then Wave came in. “Morning guys.” He started, “the fish smells good.” “Thank you Wave.” Bols responded. “Y/n are you ready for training.” Wave asked me. “Yeah,” I responded, “But we’ll wait fer the others to arrive an’ eat breakfast.” “Okay,” Wave started, “and look who's coming into the fray.” As he said that Kurome walked in yawning. “G’mornin’ Kurome.” I said pulling the biscuits out of the oven. “Good morning Y/n” Kurome said. “How did you sleep?” “I slep’ well,” I started, “but when I woke up,” “No need to continue!” Kurome said while her face turned blood red. “Haha,” I laughed, “All I’ll say is that I heard what you said, and it is somewhat reciprocated, I’ll explain later.” “O-o-okay.” Kurome said nervously as I set the biscuits on the table and she quickly grabbed one, burning herself since the biscuits just came out of the oven, “Careful Kurome,” I said, “They’re hot.” “Once breakfast is done,” Esdeath said walking in with Tatsumi, “We shall head off to Fake Mountain. Wave you will handle Y/n and Tatsumi during the day, and we shall change partners at night.” “Yes ma’am.” I said bringing out the filleted fish and setting it on the table. “By the way Genr’l, what kind of trainin’ will we get into today?” “We will be hunting.” Esdeath replied grabbing a biscuit and placing a filleted fish in the center. “Sounds good ma’am,” I said sitting down to eat, “I’ll make sure my weapons are cleaned.” “Before we go,” Esdeath started, “Mt. Fake is the perfect place for an ambush, so keep your eyes open for enemies while hunting!” “Roger!” Wave said. “Until evening, we’ll be hunting for treeman cells.” Esdeath started, “once we get there, Kurome and I will search the east side, while Wave, Tatsumi and Y/n will search the west side. One more thing, I didn’t get to see much of Kurome a few days ago. So as your captain, I need to make sure of your abilities.” “Eh?” Wave started, “does that mean you’ve already confirmed mine and Y/n’s?” “You happened upon a good teacher.” Esdeath started, adjusting her hat, “You’re strength is perfect. You should be proud. Plus you saw me fight Y/n at the tournament.” Good, I thought, Esdeath and Kurome will be on the other side of the mountain, so Tatsumi and I should be able to get away. “At dusk, we’ll switch off.” Esdeath started, “Tatsumi will be with me, Y/n will be with Kurome and Wave will keep an eye on the camp.”

An hour later the five of us were walking up the mountain to ready our camp when Kurome pulled me aside. “Umm, y/n” She started, “what did you mean by somewhat reciprocated?” “Well,” I started, “I do love you,” I could see a smile form on her face, “but I see you as more of a daughter, you remind me a lot of her, and I swear to you, I will protect you and keep you safe.” “Oh okay.” Kurome said looking down in sadness. Why the ‘ell have I been put into situations like this recently. I thought. I may have to bend my promises a little. As I thought to myself Kurome poked my stomach, “Hmm?” I asked. “This.” Kurome said giving me a kiss. “Welp.” I said after Kurome ended the kiss, “That was unexpected, but I do have a girlfriend.” I saw sadness enter her face again. “Kurome, don’t be sad,” I said lifting up her chin and kissing her forehead, “I will always love you.”

After we set up our camp, Wave, Tatsumi and I set off to the west to hunt for treemen. “I know all the dangerous species of monsters that appear on the sea…” Wave started, “but as for mountain types, I’m completely clueless.” “Since most of them prefer to use camouflage and attack by surprise,” Tatsumi started, “you need to be wary of even the rock by the side of the path.” “Yeah, the same goes for the woods as well,” I said climbing down the rock wall they were being supported by, “I saw a batch of dense brush ‘bout half a mile away, be careful.” “Okay!” Wave started, “But you know. I wonder why didn’t either of you brought this up when we were back at the palace, You’ve got some skills of your own, huh Tatsumi? If anything does show up, I guess I should ask you about it.” “Thanks.” Tatsumi started, “but that’s okay, I’m used to being treated like I know nothing.” “Ah…” Wave started, “I kind of know what you mean. Because, you kind of remind me of myself.” “It bears to make sense,” I started, “The two of you do share many similarities, in both dream and appearance.” “Yourself…?” Tatsumi started, “What reminds you of yourself?” “Eh?” Wave started, “Hmmm, How should I put it… You seem to be familiar with the same kind of problems? Or maybe you’re suffering from the same kind of problems, I guess…?” ‘Ah… you can stop.” Tatsumi started, “I get it. I kind of get what you’re saying, so that’s enough.” “Well…” Wave started, “Anyway, let’s get along, since we’re so similar.” Just then Tatsumi and I completely turned around, facing Wave. Tatsumi drew his sword and I grabbed my revolver taking it out of my holster. A loud BANG was heard as I fired my revolver.

I hit my target, “Watch out!” Tatsumi shouted darting behind Wave. He then cut down the standing Treeman as the second landed on the ground. “You saved me,” Wave started, “I owe you one!” “Don’t mention it!” Tatsumi and I said in unison as more treemen surrounded us. Attacking in a group, huh?” Wave started, “You don’t look as tasty as sea monsters.” “These guys aren’t very strong,” Tatsumi started, “but they attack in groups.” “an’ the bastards,” I started while drawing my katana, “Can have other danger beasts living within them, so be on yer guard.” “Then let’s clean out the area~!!!” Wave started “And turn them into firewood!!” During the fighting Tatsumi and I jumped away getting away from Wave. Mimic; Incursio. I thought as Tatsumi and I ran next to the river. “Normally I wouldn’t be able to get away from a teigu user…” Tatsumi said in Incursio, “However, since I also have a teigu it’s a different story.” “Yea,” I started, “but he may try and hunt us down, he appears to have Grand Chariot, the spiritual ‘successor’ to Incursio. I’ve never seen it happen, so I can’t mimic it.” We then stopped by a waterfall leading into the waterfalls, “I doubt he’ll search this far for us…” I started, sensing a power approach us at a quick speed, “SHIT!” I shouted tackling Tatsumi to the ground, Mimic; Pumpkin, Mimic; Extase, Mimic; Spectator Mimic; Elemental Heart. I thought trying to see what was happening, An’ I can’t see who it is, the armor’s blockin’ Spectator’s abilities. “Hey hey…” The armored figure stated, “Seems I’ve run into some big fish, huh… I know that teigu. It’s Incursio… the prototype for my own Grand Chariot… and, having said that… the fact that you are wearing it must mean you’re a member of Night Raid, Right!?” as that was said the armored figured pointed at Tatsumi and it clicked who it was. It’s Wave, an’ now I can mimic Grand Chariot, I’ll try and mix the two at some point. “I see.” Wave said, “a suspicious looking mountain is the perfect place for a suspicious guy like you to be lurking about! And the fact that Blondie, a known member of Night Raid is with you means that the Night Raid base is near by.”

Tatsumi then bolted off in an attempt to escape, Wave just got in front of him. “I won’t let you escape.” He said, “So man up and fight me.” “Then fight me!” I said in a deep voice while punching him in the face with a stone fist. I thought that knocked him out, but he managed to get behind me and kick me towards Tatsumi and I landing and rolled towards his feet. “Ow.” I said in a deep voice. “Move!” Tatsumi said, his voice distorted by his armor, “I have no reason to fight you!” “You may not have a reason to fight…” Wave said, “but I do!” as he said that he punched Tatsumi in the chest, sending him into the mountain’s side creating a large indent, “and that reason is Night Raid!!! I’ve read the data on you guys. Again and again you indiscriminately carry out your assassinations… you’re the villains that are slowly eating away at the peace and security of the capitol. To make matters worse, the story is you’re somehow connected to the rebel army. Your existence itself is something that can’t be forgiven!” Tatsumi the started getting up, “... You’re wrong…” he started, “its true that we may murder people. However… we… Night Raiders… Are nothing like villains…!!!” “Finally going to fight eh!” Wave said getting into his stance as I got up behind him. Mimic; Grand Chariot I thought, turning into a brown version of Grand Chariot, I felt my power and speed increase, I can handle him now I thought getting up “How about a taste of your own medicine!” I said punching him in the back, as that happened Tatsumi ran away, “If you’re so determined not to fight…” Wave said getting behind him while in the air,  “… then this is going to be quite the one sided battle” I saw Wave attack Tatsumi by dropping onto him, “Grand Fall!!” Wave said, “Perfect hit! I kicked him into the river.”

“Never turn your back on an enemy!” I shouted punching him with a stone fist. “Then I guess you’ll be my opponent.” Wave replied getting up, revealing that his visor cracked. “Blinding light!” I shouted producing a white light that drowned out the light of the sun. I then turned back into my Incursio form and activating it’s invisibility while suppressing my aura to stay hidden and launching a rock to provide a distraction down the current. Wave fell for it, chasing after the sound and Tatsumi came out of the water. “M… maybe it was too much to try to get away without fighting back.” Tatsumi said out of breath, “But I guess he doesn’t have the ability to go invisible…” Just then Incursio deactivated, “That’s why I went back into Incursio,” I said deactivating my abilities, out of breath, “Shit, there’s a danger beast coming.” I then fell to the ground, and a Jackaleo came out of the woods.

It was then cut into four parts, and it’s attackers, were Sheele and Akame. “Hey girls.” I said trying to get up. “Don’t get up dear.” Sheele said walking next to me. “Tatsumi!” Akame said, “Are you okay?!” “Why are you…” Tatsumi started to say, “Here…” “Tatsumi do ya really have to ask that?” I asked with Sheele helping me up. “We’ve all been going out and keeping watch.” Akame said, “I was stalking out the Capitol’s front entrance. I rushed after you all when you left the Capitol to go hunting. I was tailing you secretly. And I just finally caught up!” As she said that, she started to patch Tatsumi up. “And why are you here Dear?” I asked Sheele. “I forgot.” She said, “I think I was taking a walk.” “Haha.” I laughed while I got up, “That sounds just like ya babe.” “I… I see,” Tatsumi started, “That’s how it was… All that just for us… sorry. Again… you were forced to come to my rescue, huh?” Akame karate chopped Tatsumi’s head. “Ouch!” Tatsumi said, “I’ll always come save you.” Akame said, “After all, we’re friends!” “...Thank you…” Tatsumi said, “What’s wrong?” Akame asked, “I’m just so relieved to see your face again…” Tatsumi replied. “I could say the same to ya ba.” I started to say as Sheele kissed me. “Welcome back, Tatsumi.” Akame said starting to help him up, “Yeah…” Tatsumi started, “I’m back.” “That's what I missed the most.” I said as my kiss with Sheele ended. “TA-DAH!” Lubbock shouted running by grabbing Tatsumi and Akame, “Come on you damn love birds. Don’t you think we should get out of here before all that? Come on! Let’s go!”

Later as we walked through the mountain from the woods, Tatsumi broke the silence while being supported by Akame, “Lubba…” He started, “Even you came? Thanks.” “...Mmm, well.” Lubbock started, “Originally, I advised them that this was just unnecessary. I mean if you weren’t there, I’d be the only guy left. It would be like my own harem, and that wouldn’t be bad at all.” “That’s harsh,” Tatsumi said before Akame whispered into his ear. “But Lubbock,” Sheele started, “You were concerned about Y/n and Tatsumi as well, you wanted someone to talk to that didn’t entirely hate you.” “Sweetie,” I started, “Ya didn’t have to say that, we all could tell.”

POV: None, Imperial Capital, Torture room

As Wave sits in the torture room, in front of Esdeath, Kurome, and Run, he is in his underwear, sitting on his shins, on top of wooden triangular prism and has four large stones on his lap. “...umm…” Wave said, with tears forming in his eyes, “How should I say this… I’m truly very sorry for what I’ve done. I’ve deeply reflected on my actions and I apologize.” “Due to your inattention,” Esdeath started, “Tatsumi was allowed to escape along with Y/n. But more than that… ...it’s the fact that you allowed two members of Night Raid to escape that is so shameful. Kurome, stone!” As esdeath said that, Kurome ran with a fifth stone and dropped it on his lap, “mmm!” she said. “Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!!” Wave cried, “That doesn’t feel like a stone!” “That’s because it’s not.” Kurome said, “It’s lead, far heavier than stone. That was for Y/n.” “If it was Incursio,” Esdeath started, “then I believe the one inside was the 'Hundred Man Slayer' Bulat. Within Night Raid, he is a person deserving of special attention. And if you found Blondie, then you should know that we know nothing about him, nor do we know about his teigu. And this is why you were told that once found, they could not be allowed to escape. Now the enemy will likely change the location of their hideout. Kurome, fire!” “Mm!” Kurome replied, placing a lit candle onto Wave’s back, having some of the hot wax melt down onto him. “Ahh! Hooooooooooot!!” Wave cried, “General,” Kurome started, “Should I grab Bols to assist with the flames?” “Wave…” Run sighed, “Your abilities are top notch, but your mental control is weak. But you are reflecting…” Esdeath placed her hand in her head, “So we’ll finish playing with you after some water torture and a bit of light whipping.” Esdeath said, “Then we can get past this. But the next time you screw up this badly… I’ll be handling your punishment… … personally. So keep that in mind.” “Yes ma’am.” Wave said in fear.

Just then Seryu ran in carrying Kuro. “General!” She said saluting Esdeath, “My apologies. We scoured the entire area around Mt. Fake, but were unable to locate any sign of Tatsumi, Y/n nor the enemy. Even using Koro to track was ineffective!” “Well,” Esdeath started, “The Hecatonchires is more for battle anyway. Don’t worry about it. So, what about Stylish? He’s searching as well, is he not?” “Yes,” Seryu stated, “He seems to be moving on his own… but he still has yet to contact me.” “Well,” Esdeath started, “Hopes are thin then.” “General…” Run started, “It’s about Tatsumi, you were saying before that there was the possibility he may enter the revolutionary army… is that really so?” “Yeah…” Esdeath said, “He boldly tried to convince me to join as well.” “If…” Run started, “he should possibly appear before us as an enemy in the future. How would you like us to deal with the situation?” “Honestly…” Esdeath started, “I love Tatsumi even now. My desire for him is burning even hotter now that he is no longer within my grasp. However, the lives of my subordinates take priority over that. Bringing him back alive would be preferable… but if it comes down to you or him, there should be no question.” “And what about Y/n?” Kurome started, “Is he to be captured as well?” “No, he is to be killed on sight in the battlefield.” Esdeath said leaving the room. “U-u-understood, General.” Run said, “We- we have no choice but to pass judgment on those who are drenched in sin!” Seryu said hugging Koro, tears forming in her eyes.
