POV: Y/n (Kakoshi)

As Tatsumi, Lubbock and I were doing push ups with one of the girls on each of our back, I had Sheele on my back, I had done about a thousand, Tatsumi had Akame, he had done a couple hundred, and Lubbock had Leone, barely getting ten done. Mine then ran in requesting that she had someone train with here. “Heya Mine.” Tatsumi said said. “So you’ve recovered!” Akame said, “That’s good!” “What are you doing?” “Just helping these guys out with their training.” Leone said patting Lubbock’s back “After equipping it I understand that,” Tatsumi started “Incursio consumes an amazing amount of spiritual and physical energy to use. In order for me to be able to use it as well as Aniki, I need to train my body even more!!! As it is now, I can barely use it’s ability for a few seconds before it releases.” “And Mine, since yer ‘ere.” I started, “Ya can jump onto Tatsumi’s back and ‘elp him with his trainin’, sound good?” “It would help increase the weight distribution.” Akame said. “What do you mean by that?” Sheele asked. “Well Tatsumi had less weight to lift then Y/n and Lubbock.”  Leone simply hit Akame in the head, leaving a small welp. I sensed a fight brewing so I fired a round near Leone, stopping her in her tracks. “What the hell was that about Y/N?!?!?!?!” Leone yelled. “Y’all’re different in build, meaning by nature Akame and Mine weight less,” I said holstering my pistol still in a push-up position, “Besides, at a time like this, we don’t need to be fightin’ period.” “Oh,” the boss said with her coat and a bag on, “you’re all here.” “Boss.” Tatsumi said, “What’s with the getup…?” “Headin’ to the Revolutionary Army HQ?” I asked. “Yeah,” the boss started, “I need to go deliver the three teigu we confiscated from the Three Beasts.” As she said that, she started to pick up a battle axe. “Boss,” Tatsumi started, “that axe is unbelievably heavy.” “Ohh, I can handle this much.” the boss said lifting the axe over her head, “See, I wouldn’t be able to use it as a weapon, but carrying it isn’t a problem.” “Was the boss always this cool?” Tatsumi asked, “Of course!” Lubbock said, “You know she’s a former general, right?” “Now that’s awesome.” I said. “I leave the place in your hands, Akame.” the Boss replied, “Standing orders are ‘Everyone train!’” “Understood.” Akame said, “Hey!” Tatsumi interrupted, “is it really okay to leave the whimsical one in charge?!” “She takes orders very seriously.” Lubbock said, “At least there won’t be any problems there.” “But there main reason I’m heading to HQ will be to secure some new members.” the boss said, “I’m hoping they can spare some talented people to replenish our fighting strength. But I’m not holding my breath.”

“I’m sorry.” Tatsumi said, “I was too weak.” “The ones you were up against, the Three Beasts,” the boss started, “Had the highest offensive capabilities in the entire empire. They were key figures in Esdeath’s army. All of them were eliminated, and their teigu were recovered. Esdeath’s strength may have no equal, but her army has certainly been weakened as a whole due to this. This will do much to allay the concerns over when the revolution will take place. You not only saved the ship, but also the lives of thousands of Revolutionary Army Soldiers. You’re strong, and you did well Tatsumi.” As the boss said that, Tatsumi started crying, “Boss…” Tatsumi started. “I wasn’t going to tell you since I didn’t want to inflate your ego, but…” Leone started, “Bulat said something to me a while back. ‘Tatsumi may still be green and wet behind the ears, but I know that kid will become seriously strong in time, with strict training, I think my become so strong he just might leave me in the dust. I look forward to seeing it.’” “Aniki…!” Tatsumi said crying as I patted his back. “Be proud of yourself, Tatsumi.” The boss said, “And live on. Show Bulat that you can become the kind of man he expected you to be.” As she said that she walked off.

A few days later, I was walking around the Capital with Tatsumi, when we stopped by a bookstore called Booknight, and Lubbock was outside the store. “Ohh?” he said as we walked by. “Yo,” Tatsumi said, “Hey.” Lubbock said motioning us inside. “Be careful while heading down.” Lubbock said guiding us down a secret stairwell. “Wow this place really does give off a ‘secret base’ kind of vibe!” Tatsumi said walking down the stairs. “Yea,” I started, “who’d thinka havin’ a hideout in a bookshop.” “Right?” Lubbock said, “I’m very proud of it.” “But you didn’t make it, did you…” Tatsumi said looking back. When we got downstairs we saw Leone sitting there. “Hey there.” she said as we walked in, “Welcome to the Capital hideout.” “Leone, aren’t you a little too relaxed?!!” Tatsumi asked. “Tone it down a notch,” I said, “we need to stay hidden, or do ya want us to be found?” “Either way,” Lubbock started, “Mine has finally appeared on the wanted posters, but she has no name, therefore the only ones who can walk around the Capitol openly are the four of us.” “Lubbock,” I started, “I was there, is ‘ere a poster with my face on it?” “Not your face,” Lubbock started pulling out a sheet of paper, “But there is one with your version of Incursio on it, don’t know why they call you Blondie though, they can’t see your hair.” “Blondie was in Good, Bad n’ Ugly, he wasn’t blonde though.” I said looking at the poster. “Yea,” Tatsumi said, “since my face was seen on the ship I thought it might have been a little dangerous for me to be out in the open.” “Nobody recognized you while you were walking through town right?” Lubbock said, “So it’s all good I think.” “Also…” Tatsumi started “speaking of the city, the Special Police Squad Jaegers seems to be all anyone can talk about.” “Obviously,” Lubbock started, since Esdeath is the leader… that’s the real hot topic…” “Seriously how dangerous can she be?” Tatsumi asked, “That’s right.” Lubbock started, “you haven’t heard about that one time.” “Are ya talkin’ bout the time she slaughtered that Savage Tribe?” I asked, “Yea.” Lubbock responded. “Can I get a shortened version.”

“Yea,” I started, “Basically a savage tribe attacked the Capitol to destroy the Empire, they got rid of a large sum of troops, when two general, along with the Three Beasts, were sent in to exterminate ‘em, those Generals were Esdeath, and Najenda, our boss. One day Esdeath decided she would let the troops violate the town. She then made some of the tribal warriors watch.” “And that’s what happened.” Lubbock said “But wasn’t it foolish to plant the seeds of hatred in the ones they let live like that?” Tatsumi asked, “I mean, wasn’t it just like fanning some smoldering coals into a fire?” “That’s what Esdeath was hoping for.” Lubbock started, “She wants more rebellions, you see. That way she can continue to enjoy herself and fight in more battles.” “She’s messed up…” Tatsumi said. “I know…” I said with a smile forming on my face, “That’s why, I cain’t wait to see ‘er in the field’a combat!” “Hahhhhh” Leone said laying down on the couch, “I knew it was a good idea not to mess with her. She’s seriously dangerous. Would I have just been one more added to the number of hundreds of thousands she’s killed if I had…?” “She must be an incredible monster for Leone to say all that.” Tatsumi said looking over at Leone. “If you two are interested,” Lubbock said pulling out a flyer, “I’ve got something to show you.” As he said that, he held the flyer up for me and Tatsumi to see, “Esdeath is sponsoring a city wide tournament! The winner gets a huge cash reward! You did say you wanted to send money back to your hometown, right?” “Yes!” Tatsumi said with excitement, “Then let’s enter as a duo, Tatsumi.” I said, “I’d be more th’n happy to ‘elp yer village.”

A few hours later Tatsumi and I were fighting in the tournament we entered the guartalifyings. A blue haired man was the announcer, “In the east corner!” He said as a large man with a bull head and a smaller kid  walked in “Karubi the Butcher and Hazel the Demon!” The announcer said, “and in the west corner,” as he said this tatsumi and I walked up, “Tatsumi the Blacksmith and Y/n the Inquisitor!” “So Tatsumi, I’ll take on the demon and you get the butcher?” I said reading myself, looking into the stands seeing Leone and Lubbock. “You’re a tiny one aren’t you?” Karubi said looking at Tatsumi with killing intent. “Be careful Tatsumi,” I said, “He looks like he’s out fer blood.” “The same goes for you Y/n.” Tatsumi said “Let the fight bEGIN!” the announcer said as Tatsumi rushed towards Karubi, and I ran towards Hazel, “This fight is over.” Hazel said punching my torso sending me towards the edge “Mimic: Elemental Heart” I thought as I used the wind to help me stop “That was too close.” I then rushed back in landing an uppercut knocking him sky high, and I jumped after him, “I’ve come too far, to be knocked out by someone claimin’ to be a Demon!” I shouted as I passed him, giving him a downward kick flip I then let gravity take me down, when I drop kicked him even faster to the ground.

When I landed on him, he threw me to the ground, “Sorry. but you won’t be win-nig. Thiis fi-ght.” He said struggling to get up. “Welp,” I said getting up, “I’m sorry pardner, but yer not WINNIN’!” As I said that I tackled him onto the ground. I then picked him up, and spun him around building up momentum, until I let go, launching him out of the arena. When Hazel landed, he pulled out a dagger and charged at me attempting to cut me apart. “That won’t work!” I said drawing my katana blocking his attack mid swing. “DAMN YOU!” Hazel shouted jumping back from his swing. I then rushed in at him, darting past him swinging my katana, and cutting into stomach slightly. “D-D-damn y-y-you.” Hazel said falling down. “Quit fakin’, I didn’t cut that far.” I said sheathing my katana. “Shit,” Hazel said, “I thought I could get an opponent disqualified this early on.” “Well,” I started, “That aint gonna work.” We then charged at each other, having our arms lock in a stalemate, with neither of us getting the upper hand. We then jumped back, with Hazel laughing, “HAHAHA”, he said, “TIME FOR ME TO PULL OUT ALL OF THE STOPS, TO ME EXTASE!”

As he said that, he drew a large pair of scissors. How the fuck does he have Extase? I thought, I left Extase with Sheele back at HQ, either way, he’s not gettin’ away with havin’ a fake of a teigu. “So ya need a teigu to beat me,” I started while drawing my katana, “Well, I don’t need one to beaT YER ASS!” as I shouted that I rushed in cutting at his ‘Extase’ trying to break it. Damn. I thought, this clone’s stronger ‘an I thought, Imma have to do somthin’ different. Mimic: Elemental Heart. This has to work. “Come and get me!” I said sheathing my katana, making only the palms of my hands stone. “If you say so,” Hazel said running in at my trying to cut me in half, “This isn’t murder if you face me head on, it’s suicide!” “Y/N DON’T!!!” I heard Tatsumi shout as the blades neared me. I then threw my right hand down and my left hand up, catching each blade and pushing them in opposite directions, breaking the false extase having it shatter into a million pieces. “I’m sorry pardner,” I started, “But ya can’t make a teigu, official teigus are unbeatable in combat, and against someone without a teigu, like myself, I would have lost completely, but since it was fake, ya sealed yer fate.” As I said that, I picked him up and simply threw him off the stage.

“And Hazel the Demon has been thrown out, and it looks like Karubi the Butcher is down as well. Tatsumi and Y/n are the winners!” said the announcer pointing at us“Haha!” Tatsumi said looking at me with a smile, “We did it Y/n! We did it!” Just then We saw a woman walk down to the arena. “Hey Y/n,” Tatsumi asked, “I think Esdeath is coming down.” Shit, I thought, This is bad. “Tatsumi…” Esdeath said, “was your name, right? It’s a good name.” “Th-thanks.” Tatsumi nervously said. “That match just now.” she said, “That was superb. I wish to give you your reward.” “Thank you very Much!” Tatsumi said. “From now on,” Esdeath started, while putting a collar around Tatsumi’s neck, “You’ll belong to me.” She then started walking off pulling Tatsumi behind her like a dog, “There are too many distractions here.” She said, “Come with me to the palace.”

“HOLD IT!” I shouted getting the generals attention, “I ain’t gonna letcha take my pardner, at least not to join the Jaegers without me.” “And what makes you think that I am taking him to join the Jaegers.” Esdeath asked. “The fact that ya’ve placed the collar on Tatsumi confirmed my suspicions. Ya lead the Jaeger team, so it makes sense that you would choose the strongest warrior in the city to be a member’a the Jeagers, and since ya’ve grabbed Tatsumi before the final, I can tell you have something for him, and I doubt ya’d want to let ‘im out of yer sight.” I said, seeing her expression change, “Bingo! So I’ll make a deal with you. Take me on in a duel, if I win, I’ll join the Jaegers, and if I lose, you can do whatever you want to me, no holds back. Do we have a deal, General Esdeath?” “I would take you on, but I have no one to keep an eye on Tatsumi.” General Esdeath said, “I’ve got a feelin’ the announcer will gladly watch ‘im while we fight.” I responded looking at the announcer, “Wait what!” the announcer said, “I didn’t sign up for this.” “Wave,” the General started, “I want you to watch Tatsumi while we fight.” “Y-y-yes ma’am” the announcer said. “Do you have any weapons you want to use, Y/n?” Esdeath asked, “Yes ma’am.” I replied,  “Allow me to get ‘em.”

A few moments later I had returned with my weapons, “Alright General, ya ready for a fight?” I asked standing in a corner of the ring, “I may as well finish this quickly.” Esdeath said reading her rapier as I drew my katana. She then rushed at me, I dodged the attack with a left jump, I then saw an opening for a parry, and I landed a jab into her abdomen, sending her towards the end of the ring, with a slight puncture wound. “Well well well.” the general said rushing back toward me, “it seems you know how to counter.” As she said that, she attempted to slash my chest, but I dodged a second too late, getting a decent cut on my chest. I then ran back and waited for Esdeath to charge, and she did, I dodged by jumping over her, and tried to kick her off the ring, Damn, I thought, I thought I had her. Just then she charged at me, knocking away my katana. “This fight is over.” Esdeath said pointing her rapier at my face. “I’m ‘fraid not!” I said pulling my knife out and using the gut hook to maneuver myself behind her, and the rapier towards her neck, “I quit.” I said in her ear, releasing her rapier. “What?” Esdeath asked, “I quit, ya won.” I responded grabbing my katana, “I was at a disadvantage, it’ve just been delayin’ the inevitable, had I kept goin’ in that fight. I couldn’t kill ya, and ya wouldn’ve surrendered if it was the last thing on Earth, an’ gettin’ ya by ring out’d be damn near impossible.” I then started walking off to leave the arena, “Hold it,” Esdeath said, catching my attention, “I see potential in you, how would you like to join the Jaegers?” “Well if ya really want me too, I guess.” I said in a sly manner, as the general took me and Tatsumi, who still had the collar on towards their base, with the sound of thunderous applause. “Can’t we talk about this?!?!” Tatsumi shouted. “Nope.” Esdeath said, “I won’t wait anymore.” “I’m sorry Tatsumi, I tried stallin’, but I failed ya.” I said looking down, “We’ll talk in my room.” Esdeath said, “When it’s just the two of us.”
