Chapter 3

The whole experience was fun, I enjoyed the taste of human flesh going down my throat, and the blood staining my ice armor-covered scales, teeth, and the inside of my mouth. I went left and right, cutting apart humans with my claws, tail, ripping them apart with my mouth, and crushing them under my legs and body.

I looked around after biting a human in half, the flavor of its dead bodies' blood covered my tongue, me and Esdeath alone has decimated the back half of the army, she was currently standing on a pillar of ice, sending more ice out to impale soldiers, sometimes one, sometimes multiple. Then she killed the ones that were trying to come up the pillar from behind her, then she jumped down, a mild smile on her face, and two of her ice swords out and in her hands.

I smiled and spat out the top half of the human, others were swiping at my armor trying to cause some damage, well the stupid ones trying at their luck to get close enough anyways, but I just lifted a paw and crushed them underneath. Then I moved back into the killing, that was, until something huge slammed into my side.

The breath was knocked from me as I flew backwards away from the inner party of the army and towards the direction that we had come. I crashed into the ground, rolling. The world was spinning around me as I hit the ground again and again and again until I finally came to a stop about fifty kilometers from where I was originally standing.

I groaned and rolled to my feet before standing, shaking my muzzle and glaring in the direction that I was hit. A man walked to to the spot where I was, bent down, and grabbed a hammer twice his size. He swung it around and down, making it impact with the ground and causing a loud boom. Apart from the fact that his army was cheering behind him. I growled in annoyance and turned to face him. He lifted the giant hammer off of his back and pointed it at me with a single arm. How was he even able to hold the damn thing with just one arm like that.

"You have been killing too many of my men, and now I am going to make you pay" he said and then disappeared. I looked around in shock, switching my vision to many different sights to find where he went to but it was all pointless. I felt a slight shift in the air before the hammer smashed into my right side, sending me flung one again, but it was interrupted this time. As I was hit from above and sent back into the ground. I sit into the air in an attempt to get away and search from the air.

"No you don't" was all I heard in the wind before something slammed into the top of my head and send me back down. I growled in annoyance and jumped up into the air again, but it wasn't to fly, but to dodge the shift in air as something went under me.

I let the ice armor that I gained fall off from my body and into the ground. The shift appeared up top then and I jumped to the side, and then up as it changed directions too quickly for a mere human to have the capability of doing.

I felt my collar humming with my body, begging to be used, but I wasn't ready. I saw that Esdeath was still busy with the other soldiers, and even though she was making her way over to me the soldiers were getting in the way deliberately and slowing her down.

I felt the air shift again and I ducked as it swung at my head this time, but it changed direction too quickly this time and I was hit in the side. I flipped through the air and landed on my feet. The air shifted again at my left but my collar was already active. It covered my body in an indestructible armor of dragon-steel, angel blood, and Phoenix bones. It covered my whole body in the amount of time it took for the hammer to near reach my side.

Oh impact the illusion cast shattered and his hammer was stuck to my side. I grabbed it with my maw and ate the whole thing in three bites, first the over-sized head, then the stick making the over-sized handle. The human looked at me in shock before pulling out a bloodied sword at his side. I lifted my foot as he swiped at me and arched my claws before bringing them down around him, sliding easily through his armor, shoulders and flanks to trap him down, screaming in pain. I stomped on the sword, and his right hand, shattering them both. A few soldiers rushed towards us as I bent down to look him in the eyes, with my teeth bared, but they were all decapitated with a swipe of my tail.

I opened my maw and let my teeth graze his face. Several small cuts forming on his forehead, then I opened wide and closed.

"Wait" it was barely a shout, but nonetheless I listened, my mouth was inches from severing his neck, but lifted my maw, closed my mouth with a loud snap, and looked at the person that shouted, Esdeath. Why did she want this human to live, I watched as she came up to me and put a hand on my paw. I lifted my claws out of the human with a snort and sat at his feet seething. She should've let me kill this one, it was my kill, my kill.

I saw her turn to the rest of our force to see that they was surrounded the small amount of the enemy in a small circle and put her sword to the human's neck.

"Surrender now our you all will never see you're families again" she yelled at them and the soldiers seemed like they wanted to just make a break for it and run as far away as they could, but eventually those on the outside leading in got into their knees with their weapons either raised above their heads or tossed to the side while they knelt in a small circle.

I growled and walked away with a huff as Esdeath grabbed the injured and partially unconscious men from the ground he lay on and he pushed him into the circle where they bound everyone together with rope, I've, Anne metal cuffs. Then Esdeath beckoned me over, I grabbed the ice-chain that she made and started to lift the four segments connecting to a platform into the air I held two chains each in my two forepaws and most of the soldiers yelled out in surprise and shock as I lifted them into the air and flute them over to the pits where I set them down.

I dropped the chains and turned away from them to the pits. The one person was still in there but he was barely able to move. His fingers and lips were turning blue and black. I shook my head, she just let him sit in here without even noticing him at all. I moved to the furthest pit. The fifth one down and then I breathed out once, then twice, and after my third time exhaling my throat and lungs were warm enough to start producing the gases that I needed to breath Fire. Since there wasn't any large amounts of fire around for me to suck up.

I clicked my jaw as I opened my maw and blew a stream of fire into the pit of ice, blackening the walls and melting the ice as I carved my way over to the first pit, the one holding our prisoner. I noticed a human from the circle was sneaking around the back and trying to hide themselves as they made their way to the back of the building. Where were they planning on going? There wasn't anything even close to live able hundreds of miles away in any direction.

I flicked my tail, letting a spike dislodge and shot into the air in a slight curve, not even bothering to stop what I was doing to look and see if I had gotten the angles right as I just kept on torching the pit. I was almost to the second pit when I heard it's scream. I looked up and saw that the spike had impales the upper half of its right left about five feet from the circle. Oh well I was off about a ice tip or so, didn't matter. I went back to what I was doing, and no other humans tried to run.

I got to the fifth pit and saw, just before my fire hit the human, that it was practically sleeping now. So it wouldn't scream much, and I was right it saw the fire coming and just lay back closing its eyes in peace. Giving in to its on-coming death, and I respected it for not screaming as its skin, flesh, and muscle was burned away.

I started to sway my head back and forth as soon as the human was ash. Slowly shortening my swings as I got further and further from where I was standing, to make a circle. Then I stepped into the half circle side of the pit and flames the other side until it matched in distance and width. I closed my mouth and kept my fire going, sitting it up for later use at the last of my gas reserves gave way. The fire gathered in a sac at the front of my busy and turned into lava, or liquid fire as the humans called it.

I shot into the air and surveyed the hole and the platform with all the other prisoners on it and saw that it was slightly bigger than the platform and that there were no other escapee's. I flew back down and grabbed the four chains once again before lifting the platform up again and lifting them over the pit. I went down slowly before hovering over it, they looked at me in confusion as I lifted the entire thing up to my mouth and then shuffling away from my maw made tipping them over that much easier.

They screamed and yelled curses as they slid off of the platform and fell into the pit, a few landed in the ashes of the human before and brushed themselves off disgusted. I just smirked and shot off towards Esdeath and her soldiers, I saw that they were already marching back to the base. I saw Esdeath looking up as I came over to them with the ice platform and when I set it down in-front of them I crouched next to the platform and looked at them with a smile.

They looked reluctant but the survivors stepped into the platform as Esdeath got my back. She looked down at her soldiers and spoke warning them.

"My companion is being nice enough to lift us back to base after a long battle. Make sure to thank him and do your best not to move around, I guarantee that I nor he will do anything to keep any of you from falling back to the ground" Esdeath then looked at me as they all said their half-hearted "thank you's" and I lifted them into the air.

As expected a few cried out, but for the most part most were too tired to do anything as I flew back to base. The platform swung slightly, but they did not shift or move whatsoever. I smiled and sent the image of terrified faces to Esdeath making her laugh from atop my back. She lightly pat my neck.

"Give them a break will you. We've all had a long day" but her smile didn't falter, not even after we touched back down and they all practically ran off of the platform. Some not even waiting for it to touch the ground before leaping off. I felt a little bad for the prisoners because when we left they certainly weren't going to be left here alive, or maybe they were but there was nothing they could do in this cold besides try to climb out using each other.

I turned back to the platform and added to its sides a little until it was bigger than the pit I made was. Then I used my tail and stabbed four big holes through the middle and picked up its chains again. Then I flew over the giant pit full of people and was about to lower it when Esdeath shouted at me to stop.

"I want you to bring out the commander. The one you beat up badly earlier" she said and I huffed but dropped the lid aside and grabbed him with a paw before tossing him to Esdeath's feet despite his soldiers' protests as I lifted the cap once more, and covered them with it. Silencing their cries and creating an inescapable cap that they certainly couldn't lift up alone or together.

Then I stepped on it and put weight into my front legs, there was no cracking from the holes in the middle and no fractures anywhere else on the ice cap, so I nodded to myself and walked off. I lay down beside the main building that they used for planning and other things, just catching a glimpse of Esdeath going into one of the side buildings with the prisoner and I watched as she came out five minutes later and brushed her hands together. Then I lay my head down, closed my eyes, and went into a peaceful sleep.
