I noticed that the others around her stepped away, eventually getting far enough away to form a large circle around us, I stepped towards the bipedal female until I was close enough as to where it could stab me through the chest if so it desired to, and I was okay with being killed by a foe worthy or such a kill.

To my disappointment it only spun around and made a double slash towards my right foreleg, and I watched as the ice-blades cut through a claw tip's worth of my armor, and the bipedal creature in-front of me smiled, causing sounds of awe from the ones around us, and I saw her drop the ice blades and pull out the metal blade at her hips, a thin thing that didn't look very strong, but she drew it anyways and slashed at my left foreleg. The metal cut through about a half claw-lengths deep into my armor and I looked at it and her in slight surprise amusement. The blade was stronger than it looked, and I huffed as she put away her blades and watched as my armor regenerated.

Then she put a hand on my left foreleg and looked up into my eyes, and I don't know why but I felt some sort of connection between us, I felt like it was my responsibility to protect her for some reason, and I didn't know why. I huffed in annoyance, opened my wings, and took to the sky's, before hovering there while I thought.

What is this feeling? Father and mother never said anything about feeling intense feelings to protect like this, so what is this? I thought about every possible solution, but I couldn't find anything that I was set upon, it wasn't a mate's bond, and it wasn't a family thing, so what could it be. I looked around for a second before seeing a large enough body of water near the front of the largest building in the center of this city. I let my armor disappear as I dived into the water, causing it to create a large wall of water rising higher than I was tall, and I manipulated it to come inwards, towards me instead of away from me as it would've gone. The cool water helped clear my mind and I collapsed into the feeling. The stress of my situation finally got to me and I let the water take all of my problems and send them away in ripples and waves as I lay there, too tired to do anything anymore.

I opened my eyes to see that the sun was just starting to rise once more, and I rose my head to look around. The female bipedal was there, watching me, and I huffed. Shouldn't it be sleeping right now, I mean it's dawn, and no bipedal creature that I've known was up around dawn, and if they were they weren't living much longer should they run into me in those early hours.

"I feel an attraction to you, and I don't necessarily know what it is at the moment but I can feel your emotions, your pains, your feelings, but only sometimes. It's like were bonded together, like your my guardian by fate somehow, and I don't know how to feel about it. You may be an Imperial Arms, you may be just a simple organism that bonds with things in special ways, but either way I don't want to leave your side, and I can feel, and see that you feel the same way."

She looked up and met my eyes, and I huffed in slight annoyance and looked at her aura once again. I snapped to my feet in shock as I saw the edges in the purple of her aura already have a ring of rose red leading to slight dark blue, and then her purple hue. This bond was having that much of an effect on this creature that it is changing their very soul, how could something be so powerful. I was changing her life, I was changing her personality, I was starting to think about her as more than the female creature that I once saw her as, and I think that my soul was trusting of her, even though she is clearly a cold killer...literally.

"Since I am probably going to see more of you, and I don't want you seeing me in the wrong way as a first opinion since we are probably going to be partners, fighting at each other's sides" she walked over to the edge of the water to look into it and at her reflection. "I will tell you my name so that you may use it to find me should you be unable to by other means. My name is Esdeath, and as it sounds I've been surrounded by a lot of death in my days as a soldier for the empire."

I tilted my head at that last word and she smiled and lightly slapped the stone of the pool's surrounding foundation, and then she turned and started to walk away. I wasn't about to let that go unanswered, so I shot to my feet and appeared at her side in less than a second, silently hoping that she would understand my expression to spill.

"Okay you see here there are high and low rankings in society" she put her hand at her waist line, and slowly moved it up as she explained further. "Here there are the peasants and farmers, the ones outside of the inner city walls, a little higher are the merchants and others in the world of business, a little higher up are the lower ranking nobles, well off, money-wise but still too poor to be considered high noble status, others like me: soldiers, commanders, and Generals are just under the Emperor himself, the highest on the ranking class, and the ruler of the entire territory of which they conquer"

As she spoke I looked around at our surroundings and took in every detail that I could find, the main thing was white mixed in with other bright colors, there were forest greens, medium-hue purples that seemed to glow wherever the light hit on them. There were darker colors too, mainly blacks and grays though, to provide a setting that makes everything else appear brighter, more important.

I looked at her when she stopped talking and snaked my tail around to her front to point at a strange mark just above her breast. It was a very dark red symbol that looked almost black, two diagonal lines leading down to a single line that went down vertically to point at her heart, and with two dots on either side, parallel in height just under the meeting point of the three.

"Are you wondering what this is?" she asked and I glared at her, 'obviously' was the look I was going for and she smirked but proceeded to speak once again.

"It is my Imperial Arms or in another reference it is my , a Weapons that only bonds with a certain person that it finds worthy to wield it. Mine is different from other Teigu as it binds with my blood, my being whereas other Imperial Arms are physical weapons or enhancements for offensive, defensive, or foresight attacks and--if needed be--evasions." She created a long blade made of ice, put it on the ground, and then proceeded to make others: a smaller blade, a long stick-like creation that had a large tipped head, a shorter stick-like thing with a similar head and three short flaps near the end, next to a bowed weapon with a thin piece of ice going from each tip.

There were also weapons that I was more used to seeing, short and long explosion sticks, that launched projectiles along with loud noise, and in her hand she held a short spike, one of the same ones that she shot me down with, and I looked at them all quizzically. Well at least the first many ones, the noise ones I didn't care about. she pointed to the first one, the long blade.

"This is called a sword, good for close combat, same as this one, a dagger, some are curved, some are not. This is called a spear, pike, or if the top is cut off, it would be a staff. These two go together and they are called arrow, and bow. We now have crossbows, which are just like this at the front but they have planks attached and smaller arrows called bolts. This in my hand is just a spike, something that is sometimes called a stake, but I don't care for specifics. And these are guns, something that you seem to have experience facing based on how your expression and feelings are right now. Short ones are pistols and the longer ones are rifles.

I quickly grabbed the one called 'pistol' and 'rifle' with my tail and crushed them until they were useless ice chunks, then I grabbed the long stick thing, it had too many names and I bit one half of it, then the other half and proceeded to let the ice travel to my stomach. It was surprisingly good, and it cooled my insides and made my body temperature level out.

I then turned to Esdeath and did my best to show her the equivalent of a dragon-grin. She smiled and shook her head in amusement. Then she turned and went towers the large double art doors leading inside of the human castle. I hesitated, looking between her and the doors in anxiousness.

"Oh don't worry, if the emperor wants to try and use you as a weapon or war to fight our battles for us. One you'll always have me at your side, die to this bond making it so that I don't want to leave your side, and two, if he decides to lock you up and try and experiment on you then I'll just say that you're mine and he won't be able to do anything about it." She smiles gently at me and I took a step forwards, then another, and soon I was in the other side of the large doors and walking through a rather wide corridor for a human building. I thought that it was too wide for one to even consider wanting.

I followed her as she turned different corners, went down different areas, stopped at doors, and gave guards a scare of their puny little lives when they saw her and me together. Casually walking through the building, but then she got to these really big doors that had an archway snot halls as long as I was, but still considerably smaller than I would be standing on my hind legs.

Esdeath simply walked past the guards embroidered in golden armor and pushed open the doors like they were nothing. I watched her walk in ahead of me for a second and then followed after. My tail hit the left guard hard enough to dent the armor in it's chest, but the humanoid didn't move a foot. Impressive. But then again it could have been an enchantment they had to make them harder to defeat.

I looked around for a second skipping over the Boeing Throne with a human child on it and a fat man right off the child eating a steak, with a large leg of something in his other hand. Already with a couple of bites through it, but they both seemed to stop moving, hell for all I know they stopped breathing when they saw me.

The leg dropped from the man's chubby fingers and was barely on the polished floor for a second before my hunger got the best of my body and my mouth opened and sucked in the large piece of meat. I ground it up with two loud cracks and swallowed the bone and meat while. The large human was too shocked to do anything about it.

Once he realized he wasn't getting his meat back he starting to munch on the steak faster. I locked my lips and looked at him, even through it was at least 85% fat. I was still hungry, my stomach agreed with me as it's rumble shook the chamber.

"Oh my" the child said one that was all over, snapping it out of it's shock and turning it into curiosity, "the rumors were true, you found a real live mythological creature, and a descent of the western dragon too. What a powerful creature"

"Yes your highness we have a powerful dragon on our side, it seems to be an imperial arms, doesn't seem to have an owner, but seems bound to me by some unknown force of fate" Esdeath said and the emperor seemed very interested in this as did the fat creature next to him. But the difference was the power-hungry look that the fat man had and the innocent curious look of the young emperor as they stared at the two of us.

"I meant to call you here anyways Esdeath" the emperor started and looked at the fat human as if for reassurance, and the fat human nodded not even bothering to look at the young emperor. "I want you to gather an army and head North. Where you will be for the next couple months, to defeat their forces and keep them from trying to lead an assault against us."

"Yes your majesty" Esdeath began and then looked back at the emperor from her bow, "if I may, can I bring my companion there as well, please forgive me but I don't want to leave him here alone, waiting for me." The emperor looked at the fat human next to him and once again without acknowledging the emperor, the fat human nodded and began talking.

"I agree with you, you may bring your creature wherever you want to, it seems to want to help you, and has already proven its worth to us in many different ways." He took another bite out of his steak, swallowed and the stuffed the rest of it in his tooth-filled devils hole.

At that Esdeath bowed once again, turned, and walked to the main doors, which were now open and waiting. I watched her walk for a second before looking back at the fat human, smelling his scent deeply, and then licking my lips one more just for show and following after her.
