Tuesday 23rd August
Dominic Richards had been staring into space for the last few minutes, his mouth quirked slightly he tried to make sense of the many thoughts whizzing through his mind.
"You look like a creep when you smile like that."
The sharp voice caused Dominic to snap out of his hazy daydream.
"Kaden." he said. "Nice to see that you're back to your... Self." he remarked.
"Funny." she said sarcastically as she began to walk away. "And just so you know, I saw you snogging my sister yesterday." she added over her shoulder.
Dominic grinned to himself as Kaden strutted away. Jordan's good mood yesterday had neutralised all his doubts about their relationship and may have even caused it to develop into something more. The teen hadn't even bothered to lay out his textbooks today, he was certain that Jordan would come over and that they would chat the afternoon away. Or that Jordan would at least acknowledge him every few minutes as he proceeded to talk for England.
And so he waited. And waited. But alas Dominic was impatient and after a full twenty minutes he pulled out his phone and began to lazily scroll through his social media sites.
After a while he stumbled across an account that belonged to Jordan. She hadn't been very active recently but the latest picture was of her and a boy wearing identically ecstatic grins with their arms around each other. They seemed to be in the dim lighting of a concert, the stage illuminated in the background. The caption read best day ever with this idiot and the stupid bitch who took the picture! with a few celebratory emojis.
Dominic stared intently at the picture; he'd never seen Jordan look so happy. She had the kind smile that was effortlessly beautiful and completely contagious. After a few seconds his gaze drifted to the boy beside her. He had dark brown skin and what seemed to be hazel eyes which were trained on Jordan's grinning face. He was almost certain of who the boy was.
He tapped on the photo, causing two tags to appear. They were i_am_eli and k.aden. Dominic wondered whether it would be rude to snoop around on Eli's page. He looked around guiltily before going through with it.
The last picture posted on his page was a video of him carrying Jordan on his back as they ran through a dimly lit car park, screaming the lyrics to a familiar rap song.
Dominic instantly locked his phone and placed it face down on the table. He felt as if he had invaded a series of intimate memories with no regard to the meaning they held. He leant back in his chair, squeezing his eyes shut in an attempt to shake the sick feeling in his stomach.

Wednesday 24th August
When Dominic arrived at the Stonehall County Library, he was surprised to find that the automatic doors wouldn't open as he crossed their sensors. With the slight frown on his face he took a few steps forward and peered through the glass. The place seemed to be empty.
Dominic dropped his bag full of books to the floor as he turned around to the car park. His uncle's car which he drove to the library everyday seemed to be the only vehicle there. Having nothing better to do, he sat down on the floor, his back pressed against the crumbling red stone of the building and closed his eyes as he soaked up the lazy morning sunshine.
A few minutes later, Dominic reopened his eyes as he heard the crunch of gravel under what he assumed to be feet. Two familiar figures were headed towards him, dressed head to toe in black. He stumbled up onto his feet, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement stirring in his stomach.
As they got closer, Dominic noticed that Kaden had her arm around Jordan's shoulder.
"Hi." Dominic greeted when they were a few steps away from him.
"Dominic." Kaden said. Her voice was neutral, her eyes fastened to the red brick wall behind him. Jordan's eyes slowly snaked up Dominic's figure before finally meeting his eyes. They were curious and slightly worried, a great contrast to her's which were swimming in sorrow. The paired stared at each other for what seemed like hours, the light in Dominic's eyes dimming slightly.
"Are you opening today?" Dominic finally asked when Jordan's gaze fell to the ground.
"No." Kaden replied in a hard voice.
"Oh." Dominic replied, scratching the back of his neck. "Then why...?"
"We live in the attic." Kaden explained curtly. "It's converted."
"Oh." Dominic said again, nodding his head slightly.
"We have to go." Kaden muttered, removing her arm from around Jordan's shoulders and fastening her hand around her wrist instead. "We'll be open again tomorrow." she added as she began to walk towards the side of the building, her sister trailing behind her.
Jordan looked over her shoulder, her eyes meeting with Dominic's one last time before she disappeared around the corner.
