Chapter 5

I recently thought about naming my chapters but then I was like...nah. That takes away from the suspense.

Lunala landed them at the bottom of the stairs leading to the Alter of the Moon. Solgaleo, along with Hau, Sun, and Lillie, were all there. (Y/n) got down from Lunala's back and immediately released Rei.

"Is it safe for me to send him up there to take a look?" she asked Lunala. Lunala responded with a simple head shake. It must have been bad if rock type Rei couldn't check things out.

"Gladion?! Since when did you get here?!" Lillie exclaimed when she saw him. Apparently he had been avoiding quite a number of people.

"No time to explain that right now. What's going on up there?" Gladion said.

"Solgaleo telepathically told me that something was up and that Lunala had seen something abnormal and dangerous come out of the ultra wormhole. Solgaleo wants us to help him defend Alola from the threat. You two wouldn't happen to know what it is would you?" Sun explained.

"Actually, we do know. Lunala telepathically told me that another Necrozma along with an unidentified person came from the ultra wormhole," (y/n) said.

"But Necrozma is secure at Aether Paradise. You and Lunala have been working with Necrozma and monitoring all of his activity. How is that possible?" Lillie said.

"You've been working with Necrozma?" Gladion asked (y/n). She might not have mentioned it in her letters to him.

"Yes but that's not the issue here. We don't know what's up there so we need to proceed with extreme caution," (y/n) said.

"I think we should release one of our pokémon and walk up there with Lunala and Solgaleo behind us. (Y/n), I still have that flute that you made to call Alola's guardians to help us if needed. We can't let Solgaleo or Lunala get too close to Necrozma though so you and Sun should have their pokéballs ready in case they need to be protected. Any other ideas to add to our current plan?" Hau said.

"Nope. Your plan seems to be good enough as expected from one of the island kahunas," Sun said with a thumbs up.

"Thanks," Hau sheepishly said. Despite his upgrade of status, he was the same as ever.

"Wait, we need to let (y/n) be in the back. She has knowledge of pokémon beyond our own and has a ride pager. If anything happens, she needs to be able to escape to get us help. Plus she might be the only one able to understand Necrozma so we can't risk her being harmed," Lillie said.

Everyone agreed with a nod. "Me and Hau can go first. Lillie, you should be in the middle so that you can provide us with backup. Gladion, you stay with (y/n). If anything happens, you take her back to Aether," Sun said.

Everyone released a pokémon except (y/n) who already had Rei, her only other pokémon if Lunala was included. Gladion of coursed released Silvally, Sun released Primarina, Hau released Incineroar, and Lillie released Decidueye who was given to her by Professor Kukui.

They took formation and walked up the stair leading to the Alter of the Moon hoping that they wouldn't have to deal with another major crisis. (Y/n) was scared. Her friends had put so much trust in her that she almost couldn't handle the responsibility. They trusted that she had enough knowledge and experience with Necrozma to be able to stop whatever could happen be she wasn't so sure of that.

(Y/n) flinched when Gladion took hold of her hand. She looked at him in confusion but he shook his head at her all while keeping a serious look. He must have noticed her fear which she was grateful for. He did not let go of her hand until they got to the top of the stairs to face their possible opponent.

"Oh what a nice little welcoming party," someone said. Only Necrozma was visible and watching their every move but (y/n) knew that Lunala wouldn't lie about there being another person here.

"I'm right here. Didn't see me did you?" the same voice said and then the person it belonged to came from behind where Necrozma floated.

"We don't mean any harm but the last time that pokémon showed up here, it brought trouble. We'd like you to tell us who you are, why your here, and where you came from," Sun said.

"Now why should I do that when none of you have done the same? You come here and greet me with an assault party and claim to be wanting peace? Why don't you people explain yourselves," the newcomer said.

"No offense but we can't do that," (y/n) spoke up from the back of the group. She was about to walk forward but Gladion pulled her back by the arm with a worried look. She gave him a slight smile to reassure him that she'd be okay before he let her proceed.

"Well, at least they won't have to explain themselves. I, however, have no problem telling you who I am. My name is (y/n) and I am a pokémon caretaker as well as a researcher and annalist. I specialize in psychic type pokémon and I am one of the protectors of Alola alongside my pokémon partners Rei and Lunala. I need to know the answers to my friend's questions or we'll have some problems," (y/n) said with confidence. (Y/n) gave the newcomer a slight glare to add to her intimidation affect.

"Hmm...I guess I can tell you a few things. My name is Moon. I am from a different dimension where things are quite different. I am the first person to capture and control the mysterious beasts called pokémon and I intend to come here and show the world just what I have in store for it. My previous one wasn't compatable since I couldn't find a bargaining chip but I might have just found one. Can you guess what it is?" Moon said.

"Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a second. You think you're the first human being to capture a pokémon?!" Hau said.

"Am I not?" Moon asked with confusion. Hau brought out Incineroar's pokéball, put him back, and then brought him out again.

"Simple and easy as that," Hau said. Moon seemed greatly disturbed and Hau kept his deadpan as he stared at her.

"No matter. That just makes this place easier for me to handle. I'll be taking my bargaining chip and giving my demands if you don't mind. Necrozma, seize (y/n)," Moon said. Then next thing (y/n) knew, Gladion and Silvally were already in front of her and standing in Necrozma's path. Moon held up her hand and motioned for Necrozma to stay put.

"You're bold aren't you? A little protective too I see. Why is that? What is (y/n) to you?" Moon said to Gladion.

"That's of no concern to you. If you or Necrozma even think about touching her, I'll make sure you never see another sunshine again," Gladion growled. His threat was somewhat empty since Gladion did not like harming others but (y/n) had no doubt in her mind that he wouldn't lock Moon away somewhere in a place where the sun's light didn't reach.

"So she's important to you. That's good. You'll be easy to manipulate," Moon said. "That's not happening. We're sending you back to where you came from," Sun said. "Don't think that you can come to our world and do whatever you want," Lillie said. "And I'm not sharing my malasada with you!" Hau added. Everyone gave him a questioning glance but otherwise said nothing else.

"Necrozma, do that thing I taught you to do," Moon said as if she was bored with them now. Necrozma suddenly gave off a strong aura. The pokémon, excluding Solgaleo and Lunala, were the first to fall. They were out cold. Then Hau went down to his knees and held his head in pain but couldn't take the aura's pressure and passed out too. Lillie fell next but Sun caught her and gently lay her down. (Y/n) caught on to what was happening.

"Sun, touch Solgaleo, quickly!" she shouted to him as she grabbed Gladion's hand and pulled him towards Lunala. As soon as they came in contact with the cosmic pokémon, the affects of the aura disappeared.

"Well darn. I really thought that would work. Now that it's just you guys though, it's going to ne even easier to get this over with," Moon said.

"Gladion, get (y/n) out of here," Sun said. He was now sitting on Solgaleo's back and intended to stay behind to defend Aloha as its champion.

"But we aren't leaving you here with her!" (y/n) protested but Gladion was already getting onto Lunala. "You can stop her later! I believe in you," Sun said. Moon had sent Necrozma after her but Sun and Solgaleo were there to block the pokémon. "Go!" Sun urged.

(Y/n) took Gladion's outstretched hand and climbed onto Lunala's back. They immediately lifted off once she was secured. Lunala took them straight to Aether Paradise hoping that they could find a solution on that island.
