       It was Rei that woke her up from her sleep. The dusk form Lycanroc nuzzled her face with its snout until she let him know that she was awake by petting him behind the ears. Yet another normal day at her home, Aether Island.

        Yes, that's right. (Y/n) found that working with the pokémon there was quite refreshing and she was now a member of the organization in a way.

       Although she had never truly made it official, (y/n) had her own Aether themed outfit and even subordinates. Most of the time, (y/n) worked with Wicke and even traveled to the different places that Aehter had influenced. Today, though, (y/n) was taking an off day. She had already told Wicke ahead of time and planned on spending the day at the beach with Lillie, Hau, and Sun.

       As (y/n) got ready for her day of relaxation, she couldn't help but think of a certain friend of hers that she hadn't heard from in a couple of months. He'd have sent a letter by now and although (y/n) had already sent him a letter each month, he still hadn't replied.

        It would be four years since he left if she counted the day that he left. (Y/n) brushed the matter aside though. Gladion could handle himself and had made it clear in his previous letters. He seemed to be enjoying himself in his travels. Suddenly, a knock came at (y/n)'s door.

        "Who is it?" she called as she put on her hat and bag. A trainer such as herself was never complete without the two items.

        "It's Wicke. I know you had plans for today but the president has requested your assistance today. She says that it's urgent," Wicke said through the door. (Y/n)'s bright mood dulled a bit at the news.

         "That's okay, Wicke. Tell the others that I'll meet up with them later on and I'll be right out to meet with the president," (y/n) said. She wasn't going to let a change of plans completely ruin her day. (Y/n) didn't bother to change into her usual Aether themed outfit and decided to just go as she was, a typically strong trainer.

        "Come on Rei, let's go," she said to her Lycanroc who gave her a cheerful yip in response.

       (Y/n) only had three pokémon if Nebby wasn't included. The cosmic pokémon was gifted to her by Lillie after the incident all those tears ago but instead of keeping Nebby confined in a pokéball, (y/n) decided to let Lunala roam the Alola region. Lunala always returned once night settled in and sometimes even spent the whole day with her.

        On those days, (y/n) would go traveling through the ultra wormholes that Lunala created but no one knew about this except Wicke who promised not to tell.

       "Miss President, you called?" (y/n) asked once arriving in the president's office. Lusamine was there in her chair waiting for her.

        "Yes, I did. There's something that I need for you to do. A pokémon at the Aether House needs to be transported here and I need for you to transport that pokémon here safely. You are the best in the feild when it comes to dealing with matters like these and this particular pokémon isn't very fond of humans from what I'm told," Lusamine said. A simple mission such as this one wouldn't take much time at all! (Y/n) would be back in no time.

         "Oh and please don't fly back with this pokémon. High altitudes have caused panic in the past and we can't have that happening again," Lusamine said with a smile. (Y/n) could have sworn that the president almost smirked. It could have been very possible since (y/n) was sure that Lusamine did not like her.

       "Very well Miss President. I will have this pokémon safely delivered from the Aether House," (y/n) said in reply before leaving the office.

        "Looks like we'll be walking on the way back, Rei," (y/n) said to her Lycanroc. He gave a short growl before going back into his pokéball. It was likely that he too sensed the slyness in Lusamine's request but (y/n) couldn't think of a reason why Lusamine would want her away from her friends and the Aehter Foundation's island.

       After summoning Charizard from her ride pager and traveling to Aether House, (y/n) found out that the pokémon that needed to be transported had already been sent with two other Aether workers not too long ago.

        (Y/n) didn't want to do any work but she wasn't the type of person to abandon a pokémon in need so she asked which way they had gone and followed the path after getting an answer.

       (Y/n) released Rei who ran alongside her to motivate her. Although she had looked for the people who were supposedly transporting a pokémon, she never did find them.

        "This is frustrating," (y/n) muttered to herself as Rei went back into his pokéball and she prepared to fly back to the Aether Foundation's island. Once she got there, she immediately went to Lusamine's office.

       "Miss President, pardon me but the pokémon that you sent me to transport had already began to be transported. If I am correct, the pokémon along with two other workers should arrive here soon," (y/n) said after walking into Lusamine's office. She had been doing paperwork.

        "Oh, is that so? My misyake then. I assumed they would need help and they didn't call to let me know that they had already started transport," Lusamine said in the most innocent way but (y/n) could tell that she already knew.

        "Oh that's okay. I was glad to have at least tried to help," (y/n) replied although her feelings had been hurt. Lusamine hated her but the reason was unknown to (y/n). She dismissed herself from Lusamine's office and released Rei as she walked back to her room.

        She still planned on meeting up with her friends but she needed a moment to sulk so she went down to one of the laboratory's on the bottom floor. Wicke had set one up just for her and (y/n) went to it often when she wanted some alone time or needed to research a certain pokémon for she had no pokédex.

        That's right, Professor Kukui gave the one he had to Sun but it's not like (y/n) needed one anyway. She was probably a pokédex herself with all of the things she already knew about a variety of pokémon. Before she got to the elevator though, she heard her name being called.

        "(Y/n)! I've been looking for you! It's important!" Wicke said as she came to her.

         "Huh? You were? What's happened?" (y/n) asked as she stopped to listen to what Wicke had to say.

        "It's master Gladion. He has returned and he was just here but you weren't. I can't be sure if he's still here but you better catch up to him if he hasn't left the docking area already," Wicke explained. (Y/n), for a second, couldn't believe her ears and stood there for a bit longer than she should have.

        "Well what are you waiting for, go find him!" Wicke said, snapping (y/n) from her trance. (Y/n) gave a quick nod and immediately took the elevator down to the docking area and sure enough, there he was. Gladion was there standing in front of boat that seemed to be getting ready to travel again.

       (Y/n) didn't even call his name. She just ran towards him but Rei was faster and got to him first. Rei circled around him quite happily which caused Gladion to turn around just in time to be tackled into (y/n)'s hug.

         "You came back. You actually came back," (y/n) whispered as she hugged him and held back tears.

        "Of course I did but I'm only here temporarily. You weren't even supposed to know that I was here. Who told you?" Gladion said as he hugged (y/n) back. (Y/n) didn't answer him though. She was just glad to finally be able to see him again. He hadn't changed a bit other than getting a little taller. (Y/n) had hoped that her increase in height would put them at the same level but of course she forgot that Gladion would get taller too.

        "Hey, are you okay?" Gladion asked her. "Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just...really happy to see you," (y/n) said. She didn't dare let Gladion go even if he felt uncomfortable in the hug. She hadn't seen him in four years so she was sure he could spare four minutes of his life for an exaggerated hug.
