Sweet Water

I walk to the streams
and long are the roads
in between
Ingenuity and inspiration

I draw from each
and drink my fill
until I reach
my stronger will

In labor and life
much is elusive
Two worlds I wish
were mutually exclusive

Yet each encroaches
so suddenly upon
And each other's noses
are quite long

The aroma of life drowned
in the smell of sweat
and mixes it all around
in an unwelcome stench

Where is the sweet water
I dream to ingest
when work isn't a bother
and life is truly rest
