No Dreams
The kind of worn out dizzy
light-headed tired of busy
that pulls your weight straight down
as you fall in a heap in a sleep without sound
That's where I am headed tonight
I hope the the moon and stars will be alright
I won't take notice of them now
I'm going to time travel somehow
My back is done and my brain is too
I barely made it through
Work like this should be against the law
when every nerve and muscle is raw
No dreams shall I remember
I may sleep past December
No alarm or warning cry
will budge my shut tight weary eyes
If you dare wake me at all before noon
I cannot promise what I might not do
Whisper as you pass by my room today
and be careful to let sleeping giants lay
