The World Beard and Mustache Championships attracts men from all over the world. And the attendants can learn an important lesson on taming their facial hair.

A stout man with a red scruffy beard walked up the stage and introduced himself as the host.

"Gentleman, far and wide, welcome to the annual Beard and Mustache Championship of Atlanta, Georgia. I am your host for tonight's event, Wyatt Schroeder. Now before we begin, I'd like to say a few words on growing a mustache or beard. If you don't keep it healthy and shiny, odds are it will be crawling with bacteria or worse a small animal can hide in it."

An audience member raised his hand as he was baffled with that idea.

"Yes, my good man."

"Mr. Schroeder, how is that even possible? Do you even know of an example?"

Wyatt had a hunch that would be asked, so he had a video clip handy to explain what he meant.

"I'm glad you asked that question. Yes, I have one story for all to hear.

The lights became dim, and a wide picture screen was now seen on the wall that once was bare.

The same man who asked this question looked at Wyatt with curiosity and mumbled the words "He just had to have that ready to show."

Slightly irritated with that remark, Wyatt smirked.

"I heard that young man, and I would be listening to this if I were you."

Wyatt then continued on with the presentation.

"Do you all know the Bayland Giants?"

The gentlemen nodded as that was one of the best U.S. baseball teams in the country.

"Well, in one of their last games, against their rivals, a surprise occurred." Wyatt had a large stick that he used as a pointer.

"As you can see here, it was the bottom of the ninth, and Stanley Cooper was on the baseball mound, ready to score a winning pitch for the Giants. He was nervous as hell as all eyes were on him, but he couldn't risk it. It was an all or nothing hit for his teammates who were counting on him. The pitcher tossed the last ball towards Cooper and just when he was about to hit a home run, something flew out of his beard.

It was a hysterical event as the camera was focused more on what was finally discovered as a hummingbird who was sleeping in Cooper's bushy beard. The fans went crazy as Cooper won the game, but it was also quite amusing to find out that an animal as small as your thumb could hide in your beard."

Laughter and amusement were heard among the audience members.

"So treat your beard or mustache with the respect it deserves. And check out these tips for maintaining healthy facial hair."

Words on the screen began to appear as Wyatt had this planned along.

Eat right. ...

Wash it. ...

Dry carefully. ...

Apply oil. ...

And most importantly, use the right tools.
