As the trucks stopped by the farm, we vegetables shouted Hooray! We're finally getting out of this dump.

Do you know how hard it is just to stay here, all day and all night, just growing in the soil? And talk about the weather ... it can get freezing out here in the cold. And most of my fellow Brussel sprouts were already picked by the farmers, so what gives, people?

I'm in the supermarket now, next to some "healthy" asparagus. I hope I can be bought, but my kind has been known to be the most hated vegetable on earth.

Just then a grocery cart approached us. A mother and son came by to buy some asparagus.

"Bryan put that back!"

"You don't eat that, young man."

"Sorry veggie. I need to put you back.

I sighed and thought I'd return to the Brussel sprouts rack, but instead, Bryan dropped me to the floor.

If I had hands right now, I'd be facepalming myself.

What's a veggie got to do, to get some attention around here?

I have an idea, as I can see the backroom from here. Wonder if it has those things that humans called speakers. I can talk into it and my fellow Brussel sprouts will be bought!

Oh, no here comes Mr. Sweeper and that thing they call a 'broom'. Aye!

Quick to the shed! I sashayed myself to the hidden spot.

Wait a minute, I'm no longer on the ground. My 'veggie butt' is not feeling any flat surface.

So where am I?

Oh, I'm inside a garbage can. Let me see if I can climb up to get a better view.

Wow, I made it to the backroom. And there's a seat next to the thingamajig that has the speakers.

Gotta get there soon before they discover me.
