Chapter 18 - A New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! Even though the new year was ages ago...but meh xP
I hope 2019 has been great for everyone so far! xD
I think I've mentioned this in previous chapters, but Kaylee and I have lost interest in Aikatsu. That's why our writing has kinda been sloppy and the past chapters have been uninteresting. Therefore, we have decided to cut this book shorter than what it was going to be. We also won't be writing songs anymore :/. We still plan on finishing Aikatsu Dreams though :D
ALSO! If anyone reading this is a fan of My Hero Academia, Kaylee and I are writing a fanfic about it! We've actually been planning the story too. Trust me when I say it'll be better than this story, simply because we're just more into MHA/BNHA, and we've been into for a really long time now and still haven't lost interest. We just find it more enjoyable and fun to write about (no offense to anyone who likes Aikatsu more or doesn't like MHA.) So be sure to check it out! ^.^
-
This chapter is going to be slightly different than the previous chapters and upcoming ones.
Also, this was published in a rush and written on a phone, so there may be some mistakes. I'll fix them up soon!

Our dreams are rising and our hearts are singing! Aikatsu Dreams is about to begin!

Emi
"Everyone, we wish you a Happy New Year" I said.
"We sincerely appreciate the support we have received the past year" Hanaka said.
"This year, we will do our best to reach even greater heights" Miru said.
"We hope that you will all continue supporting us on our journey" Kazuna said.
"From everyone at Stardust Academy and beyond, thank you. Happy New Year!" the four of us said.
"And cut!" the director shouted happily. "All right girls, that's a wrap! Thank you!"
***
"So, what did you guys do during our break? New year is about new beginnings, so tell me EVERYTHING!" Miru stated.
In celebration of the New Year, Stardust Academy granted everyone a two week holiday. This was our first day back at school. On New Year's Eve, the four of us went to the festival and fireworks display.
"I had a bunch of fun! I loved when we went to the festival on New Year's Eve and saw the fireworks!" I beamed.
"That was last year" Hanaka sighed.
"Oh right!" I stuck my tongue out. "Well, I do have a story to tell you guys! It may not be that interesting, but here it is!"
***
I sighed loudly. I was currently lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I had nothing to do.
"Emi, if you have nothing to do, come help me bake!" My mum shouted from the other room. I shot straight up.
"Are you a mind reader Mum?!"
"I just know how you think. Now come on!"
---
"Done!" I cheered. My mum took the cookies out of the oven, and packed them into a small box.
"Here, Emi. Would you mind going on a little errand? I need you to deliver this to the nursing home" Mum said.
"Sure! I'll go!" I answered. Mum took out a large bag, sealed the box of cookies, and placed the box inside. Then she handed me the bag.
"Take your phone with you!"
---
I stared off into space as I was walking. Because of this, I didn't notice that it had begun to rain.
"Dang it, I didn't bring my umbrella!" I cried as I sprinted around to find shelter.
I found a bus stop and waited for the rain to stop. As I sat there in silence, a girl came jogging down the path and sat down next to me.
"It's really pouring, ain't it?" the girl said.
"Huh? Oh yeah, it is" I laughed awkwardly.
She grinned. "Oh...hey I know you! You're Emi Miharu right?"
"Yep!" I smiled. I was smiling on the inside too. I couldn't believe that I was getting recognised!
"Wow! It's amazing to have finally met you! Oh, that reminds me. Thank you!"
"Thank you?" I titled my head to the side.
"Yep! You see, my little sister does ballet. On the day of her performance, she made a mistake. She felt awful and wanted to quit. Then, she watched your solo performance. Afterwards, she wouldn't shut up about being the best idol there ever was" the girl gave a hearty laugh. "She looks up to you."
I was stunned, eyes wide.
"Anyways,-" the girl who was carrying a small bag, took out a notebook and pen. "-mind signing this?"
I was still stunned, but I took the pen and scribbled my autograph onto a page.
"Woah, thanks a bunch! I'm Airi by the way!" Airi beamed. I finally returned to my senses and smiled.
"Hey, it looks like the rain has stopped! Well, see ya!" Airi got up, waved, then was out of sight.
That's right. An idol's job is to make others smile, and to inspire them!
I stood up, and continued to the nursing home with my head held high.
---
"I'm back!" I called.
"Welcome back! I hope you didn't get too wet...You should've called me" mum said, sighing.
I stuck my tongue out. "I was fine! Actually, I was better than fine!" I beamed.
Mum gave me a look of puzzlement.
I grinned. "You know Mum, idols really are great!"
***
"What a beautiful story!" Miru clapped vigorously. Hanaka gave her a blank face.
"That's sweet" Kazuna smiled warmly. "I have a story to tell too! It's not as inspiring or charming as yours, but I'm gonna tell it anyway!" Kazuna said boldly.
***
Kazuna
"You sure you want to do this?" My mum asked. I tied the laces of my ice-skates and grinned up at her.
"Duh! I wouldn't be here otherwise!"
"Don't use 'duh'" my mum said blankly.
"Right, sorry" I rubbed the back of my head, then stood up before stepping out onto the ice-rink.
I was clutching the railing as I slowly skated around, watching people skate by me at an alarming speed.
"Hey, you're Kazuna Hitori right?"
I turned my head around to see a short girl beaming at me.
"Yes, that's me" I replied.
"Wow, you're so cool!" the girl cheered.
Before I could reply, I heard someone scoff. "I don't see what's so great about her" another girl said. Let's just call her the mean one.
"She's super cool though! And be nice" the nice girl said to her friend.
The mean girl laughed. "I'm just stating the obvious. I mean, she can't even ice-skate! She has to hold onto the railing. That's soooo not cool."
I gritted my teeth and let go of the railing. "Hah! How bout now!"
"Anyone can let go of the railing, but can you skate?"
I took a deep breath and slowly began to skate. After a minute I accidentally tripped. The mean girl burst out laughing. The nice girl glared at her friend then rushed over to me.
"Are you okay?" she asked worriedly.
I nodded as I tried to get up, but failed to do so.
"She should just stay down" the mean girl muttered. The nice girl ignored her.
"You can do it Kazuna! Get back up when you fall!"
"I don't know how to though..." I mumbled.
"Okay well, go onto both knees, bring one of those knees up and push off! Simple!" the girl smiled.
I attempted to do what she said, and did it.
"Great job!" the girl smiled at me. "I'm Chie by the way!"
"Thanks Chie!" I said to her.
"No problem! I know it might be a bit scary at first, but just keep trying!"
---
"Hey Mum?" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I stepped off the ice-rink.
"Yes?"
"I think, I wanna learn ice-skating!"
***
"This stegosaurus will trample over that mean girl" Miru said darkly. Hanaka sighed.
"Awww, that was so sweet!" Emi hugged me tightly.
"It wasn't really..." I muttered, smiling.
"Alright, it's my turn now!" Hanaka puffed her chest out and smiled confidently.
***
Hanaka
"Hanaka, your cousins are here to see you!" Dad shouted across the hall. I groaned loudly.
"HANAKA!"
"I'M COMING OLD MAN!"
"WATCH YOUR MOUTH BRAT"
"Hehe, uncle and Hankie are so funny!" my two annoying cousins laughed. I gritted my teeth and stomped my feet.
My two annoying cousins were five year old twin boys. Did I mention that they were annoying?
---
"Hankie! Come play with us!" the two brats said. The three of us were in the garden. I sighed out loud. The two brats mimicked me.
"OI!"
"Oi!" They copied. I narrowed my eyes and walked over to them.
"What? What do you want to play?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Let's grow a garden!" They said in unison.
"What do you want to plant?" I questioned the two in a softer tone.
The two beamed at me. "A rose!"
---
"Wasn't this fun Hankie?" the two asked me cheerfully.
"No."
"Oh come on! We know you enjoyed this!"
I sighed for what I felt like was the hundredth time today.
"Oh! Hankie!!! LOOK LOOK!" next to the roses that we had planted was another patch of roses. One of them was blooming RIGHT NOW.
I quickly kneeled down and my two cousins, Daigo and Dairo huddled close to me. The three of us watched the flower bloom in awe.
"This flower is as amazing as you are Hankie!" Dairo said, grinning. Daigo nodded happily in agreement.
I gave them both a genuine smile.
"Ah! You really do love us Hankie!" Daigo exclaimed. Dairo smirked.
My face melted into a scowl.
"SHUT UP BRATS!"
"We love you too!"
***
Emi was crying at the end of my fabulous story. I flipped my hair and smirked. Miru returned the look of blankness I had been giving her.
"Your cousins sound adorable!" Emi smiled warmly.
"I'd love to meet them sometime" Kazuna added brightly.
I heaved a long sigh.
"Alrighty then! Time for my story!"
***
Miru
"EVERYONE! LOOK AT THIS DINOSAUR!" I shouted.
"Be quiet Miru!" Mum scolded. "Your baby sister is sleeping!"
I pouted as I went back to staring at the dinosaur on my computer screen.
I wanted to go to the dinosaur museum. But I had two other sisters and one brother who had other plans.
"Can't we just stay at home?" my little brother asked. Mum nodded. I understood that she was tired, but come on!
I fell down in defeat.
"I really wanted to go..." I said miserably. My brother, Maku, and sister, Maki, exchanged glances.
The rest of the day could be described in one word. BORING. I sat around for the whole day, doing absolutely nothing. Then, Maki approached me.
"Hey sis! Can ya do me a small favour?" she asked with puppy dog eyes.
"No" I replied flatly.
She pouted. "I'll give you my dessert for a week!"
I raised an eyebrow. She sighed.
"Fine. Two weeks."
"Deal. What do you want me to do?" I questioned.
"Go to your room!"
"What are you, Dad when he's trying to act mad?" I blinked. Maki pushed me upstairs. After I entered my room, she rushed downstairs.
"Are you actually gonna give sis your dessert?" Maku asked.
"Lol no. Anyways, let's do this!" Maki cheered.
"Yeah!"
***
"SIS!" Maku burst into my room and immediately pulled me downstairs.
"Wha-"
In front of me was a room full of stegosaurus posters and information.
"Welcome to the Miruseum of Stegosaurus'! Now! Uh..." Maku paused. He didn't know what to say next.
Before he had a chance to finish his sentence, I rushed towards him and Maki, and pulled them into a hug.
"Don't squish me!" Maki whined. I hugged them tighter. Sure, it wasn't much, but it's the thought that counts right?
"Miru!"
I turned my head to see my mother standing in the doorway.
"I have a special treat!"
"Is it pie?" Make asked, drooling.
"No" Mum said blankly.
"What is it then?" Maki and I said in unison.
"How does a family trip to the museum tomorrow sound?"
The three of us grinned.
"That sounds amazing!"
***
"Emi, you don't have to ball your eyes out" Hanaka said blankly as she watched Emi ball her eyes out at my beautiful story.
"It sounds like everyone's had a wonderful new year!" Kazuna declared, smiling.
"You bet!" I grinned.
"I'll admit, it's been fun" Hanaka said quietly. Miru smirked at her.
Emi
I beamed at my friends before I took a deep breath.
"EVERYONE!" I shouted. My friends all seemed confused, but then they smiled at one another. We all said together: "HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
---
Welp... Anyways, happy new year everyone! I'll be publishing the Valentine chapter soon, so look forward to it!
Till then~
