"It's awful. Everyone is just going through the motions," said Norman. "Revenge is a big part of my life. It's all I do. I want revenge. I want the thing to happen."Norman, known for his short films "Bloody Saturday" and "Lincoln", was initially surprised that George chose to make the sequel in three parts, as Norman felt the second movie was poorly received by audiences. George acknowledged this in an interview, stating, "But what would you do, you know, if they didn't get it? And I thought it was a good revenge story."He later reflected on how he did not dislike any of the other actors in the cast, but that a proper cast could be created.Once the project got off the ground, Norman was very pleased that it came to life, as he felt like it was "already starting to feel like the last story that I had."A quick cameo appearance in "Bloody Sunday" helped George's case with the distributor.Once filming was finished, George received an offer from Universal to direct a thriller that would be set up in Las Vegas, and this was given the go ahead. It was ultimately cancelled.In June 2014, Universal had announced "Revival" would be made as a TV series.Marion Cotillard was selected to play the female lead and Bryan Cranston was given a bigger role in the script, but he ultimately had to drop out, because he did not want to portray Norman. It was then given to Dennis Quaid, who was then fired, as he too did not want to play Norman.The director returned to the project, and he pushed for a completely different approach. Instead of focusing on the revenge angle, the new screenplay focused on revenge in general.George felt it was easier to rewrite something new and fresh rather than trying to do the original story again. This meant that Marion was unable to reprise her role, and Jamie Dornan was chosen to replace her."Norman" was made as a three-part TV series, and each part focused on revenge and revenge related characters. The story starts off with Jamie Dornan as Cole, the first revenge killer. In revenge for getting shot by Julia, Cole aims to get revenge by killing anyone who shoots his girlfriend.
