200 View Special!

Hey, guys, here's another view special chapter. Not all of my keys are working right now. Here's what I've got: 1234567890 !@#$%^&*()_-+=wertyuiop[]\{}|sdfghjkl;':"zxcvbnm,./<>?'~ plus all of the extra buttons like ctrl and caps lock. as you can see, I don't have 'a's, so I'm using copy-and-paste. I can only keep one thing copied, so none of my other missing keys can be used and 'a' can't be capitalized. Now that my technical difficulties have been noted, that this will take place at base while Skye is having a party with Loki and the other asgardians. Still Halloween themed, 'cause it's Halloween, and that's my favorite holiday. Just ignore the fact that it's almost Christmas.

I wake up, feeling disoriented and fuzzy headed. "Hey, wh-what happened?"

"Fitz knocked you out." The blonde woman replies, looking up from cleaning her gun. "Bobbi Morse."

"Grant Ward." I say, throat raw, "Where's Skye?"

"She's having a party. Meanwhile, you're stuck here with me, Mack, Triplett, and the Koenigs."

"a party?"

"Yes, in asgard." She turns her attention back to the gun.

I struggle for a moment to picture a Halloween party in asgard and fail. "I see."

I leave the hospital bed, exploring the building. Bobbi follows, still focused on her gun. as I look for a kitchen, I notice something.

"Bobbi, did you hear that?" I glance back at her.

Bobbi is looking around, spooked. "Yeah, I did hear something."

I turn back ahead, wondering what was going on. Suddenly, I freeze. In front of me is one of the Koenig's, his form translucent and his eyes angry. The one I killed. I lower my head in guilt.

"I know what you did, agent Ward!"

The ghost of Koenig rushes forward, an inhuman screech emanating out of his mouth. Bobbi and I run away. "Split up?" I ask. "I'll find Mack, you find Triplett."

"Split up," She agrees as we reached the end of the hall.

We both turn to each other at the same time, both exclaiming, "Don't tell the Koenigs!" We turn away, each running down our own path.

My heart pumps hard and my legs burn. This was my worst fear, that ghosts could exist, because of the many people I've killed. Heck, my old mentor would be haunting me if ghosts were real. Pestering me to oblivion.

as soon as that thought hits me, I realize that I was hearing another noise. I peek in to the kitchen to see the large ghost of an ant.

"Oh, hello." Click click "Who are you?" Of course the giant undead ant talks.

"Grant Ward."

"ant-ony." The ant replies.

I blink at it. "Did I step on you or something?"

"No. I died helping a nice human fight an evil human."

I blink again. "Okay."

"I bet you're wondering how we came. Well, different locations have a special time of year when the dead can appear and interact with the physical world." Click click "It's why ghost stories are sporadic. We ghosts love to use these times to meet humans and haunt them. If we can get them to believe in us, we can continue to interact with that human. It's also a chance for revenge." Click click "For this patch of land, you're unlucky that the time of year for this place is Halloween, when we ghosts are even more powerful."

Sounds like my luck. "So, are you here for revenge?"

"Heavens no." ant-ony replies. "I'm here for the food." Click click "But if you want me to help, I will, provided you allow me to haunt you and feed me."

(Me: Hold on, this is starting to sound like it will tie in to the main story line, which I've written most of and does not include Ghost ant-ony. Oh well. I guess it gives me plot for any more view specials.)

I contemplate a moment, before realizing that I was way out of my comfort zone. "It's a deal."

"alright," Click click "Than I should tell you that your haunter approaches."

I gulp, turning to look at ghost Koenig. "Maybe we can talk this out?"

"You killed me. There's nothing to talk about." The ghost screams, giving chase.

ant-ony nudges me. I take that as my cue to run. "So he's trying to carry out a grudge?" I ask, panting.

"Yes." Click click "He's been corrupted by his rage."

"That doesn't sound good." a section of the wall tears away and the ghost appears in front of us. He lifts the large chunk of concrete and throws it at us.

I duck and roll, the chunk missing me by inches. a door. I look up to see an exit. I stand and open the door before he can throw another wall at me.

I curse upon entering the room. It was a dead end.

"That's not very nice to say." a voice to my left says. I turn to see a large dark skinned man fixing an engine.

"Kind of out of patience and time."

He stares at me, but his gaze slips past me, and his eyes widen. "Wh-What's that?"

I turn, expecting to see Koenig. after a second, I relax. "It's just ant-ony."

"Nice to meet you." Click click

"It's a talking ant ghost ..." The man stares longer.

"Mack?" I ask, trying to verify his identity.

"That's right. You're Grant Ward?"

"Yep. We'll explain on the way."

I open the door, but immediately back off. On the other side is Koenig's ghost. He seethes, his hand reaching forward. "You. Will. Pay."

"Is that Koenig?" Mack asks.

"Yes. Run!" I dodge, leaning back to avoid the ghost, before running around to join ant-ony and Mack. The three of us run down the hall. I turn, to check to see if the ghost was taking chase. He's there, at the end of the hall, rapidly movi-

Wham!

I run straight into Mack, who has stopped, staring in front of him. aches, pains, and a throbbing in my skull filter through my senses. My ribs burn. I look past Mack, to see another ghost.

My eyes widen.

It's my old master, Garrett. He looks just as I remember, except for his eyes, which are blackened, with dark veins leaking through his face.

He's the last person I wanted to see as a ghost.

I wait, for him to yell at me. To vow his revenge for my failure. To attack.

Instead, he grins at me. "My apprentice, help me defeat her."

Silence reigns, my voice failing me. I stare, waiting.

"Defeat who?" Mack asks, breaking the tension.

"Defeat agent Coulson."

I feel like the wind was sucked out of me. No. Of course he wanted that from me. Of course he wanted me to serve him again.

"No," I say, but my words lack force. "No, I won't ... help you."

Garrett lunges for me, hands gripping my shoulders, screaming. Mack grabs my shoulder, dragging me away. I stumble, and Garrett lunges again.

This time I dodge, running away with Mack and ant-ony.

I turn a corner, to see Bobbi and Triplett. "Garrett's here too."

"So are some others." Bobbi agrees. "We need to keep moving."

"ant-ony here is on our side." I say.

"We should stick together." Mack says, "Some stories say that ghosts are capable of possession."

"True." Click click "If a ghost has a similar mentality to a person, it may possess it."

I'd make a perfect target for Garrett to possess me.

"Let's go." I say, and we turn to go the other way.

Instead of a clear hall in the T-shaped intersection, Garrett and Koenig stand in the middle, where we were when we turned.

I look past Bobbi and Triplett to see more ghosts, including a man who looked like Triplett, but older.

I recognize faces, including Victoria Hand and my parents. Many more faces begin to enter from the sides. I don't recognize everyone in the large multitude, likely victims or allies of my comrades.

We were surrounded.

The ghosts surge as one, Triplett's father reaching his son first, placing his hands on Triplett's head. More attack Bobbi and Mack.

I try to pull Triplett away from his ghostly duplicate, but as my hands touch Triplett's shoulder, the ghost disappears.

Possession!

The swarm confuses me, and I struggle against the wave of ghostly bodies, looking for my friends.

Suddenly, they all stop. I blink in the dim light to see Garrett in front of me. "I'll take over Ward here, to get revenge on Coulson. after that, the rest of you can have him."

I look around, to see Koenig float next to him. "You'd throw away your own apprentice?"

I wince.

"If he can't survive a bunch of ghosts, then he's a disappointment to me.

I glance at my teammates. Mack, Bobbi, and Triplett all have glowing ghostly eyes.

They were possessed.

ant-ony was grabbed, pinned by several ghosts.

The situation was hopeless.

"It's a deal." Koenig says.

I turn and run, but the ghosts tackle me, even the ones I don't know, pinning me as Garrett comes closer. I struggle, pulling and twisting around.

Garrett stands above me, his hands reaching down and gripping both sides of my head.

Suddenly, it feels like I'm sinking and floating at the same time. Everything rushes around me at a fast speed, making me feel dizzy and confused. I feel another mind against mine.

No. I won't allow him to kill Coulson or any of my other friends. He won't ruin my second chance.

I concentrate, forcing him out of my mind. No. I. Won't. Let. You. Control. Me.

I open my eyes, still feeling him in my body. The room looks different, and I suspect time has passed. I struggle to open my mouth. "Never. again."

Just like that, Garrett is gone. I turn, to see him screaming at me. I turn and run, heading for my friends. I find them fast. They're waiting in the hangar. "Guys!"

Triplett looks at me and smiles. "I'm Gabe Jones, one of the Howling Commandos. Don't worry. I've made sure that your friends are safe. ant-ony and I made sure that none of their enemies got to them."

"Why didn't you do that to me?" I huff.

"Well, you don't have any deceased allies, excepting ant-ony who got captured."

Touché. Most of the dead people in my life were my fault."

"What now?"

"It's dawn, so we will release your friends. as for ant-ony, he will come any time you call." Gabe Jones says, "What you need to do is focus on your ties to each ghost, excepting ant-ony. Let them go. Don't let any fear, sorrow, or guilt keep those ghosts in your life."

I nod, and Gabe Jones disappears, along with the other ghosts.

"What happened?" Bobbi asks.

"You were possessed. It's morning now. We can get rid of the ghosts." I inform them.

"How?" Triplett asks.

"according to your grandfather, we need to break our ties to these ghosts." I reply, smirking.

I stand in front of Koenig, the last ghost left. My friends struggled to let go of their own guilt and sorrow.

So have I, for so many of my own ghosts.

Garrett was hard, but I had Coulson and Skye now. My parents, on the other hand were particularly easy. I was more than ready to disavow them.

Koenig though ...

He took us in, and I garroted him in the night.

He had treated me with kindness, and I repaid that by hiding his body in the air ducts.

My guilt was very strong.

"I'm sorry." I say, softly.

Koenig stills, staring.

"But I forgive myself. What I did to you was wrong. But it's in the past. I have a future and a present. I can't keep living in the past. I forgive myself."

"I ... forgive you too." Koenig replies, staring at me. "I'll see you next year. Maybe we'll play Mario Kart."

and with that, Koenig blinks out.

We look at each other, a new type of comradery falling into place.

"Let's agree to keep this a secret." Bobbi says.

Triplett nods. "We'll be the Secret Ghost Squad."

(a/n: Thank goodness that when I typed that out, google had suggestions for me, or I wouldn't be able to have that in there.)

Mack laughs. "That's cheesy."

"It'll be fine." I say, "ant-ony can be an honorary member."

"Yeah, speaking of which," Mack asks. "What's his story, anyway?"

"apparently he was helping someone when he died."

"another ant?" Mack scrunches his brow in confusion.

"No. a human."

"Weird."

The sound of laughter permeates the room.

"Come on, guys!" Triplett says, "everybody, go back to where you were before."

"Pretend this never happened." I added. "We don't want any of our friends to believe in ghosts. They could be a target for ghosts. ant-ony told me belief could tie a ghost to someone. We're vulnerable. We can't make them vulnerable too."

Everyone nods, and Bobbi and I run back to the medical room.

"Next year?" I say, panting. "I think I'd rather go trick or treating."4

Okay, so I was a week late. Hope you enjoyed. also, I'll be updating Chapter one part one (once again, it's old work) today as well, so I hope that makes up for it.
