12 (Part 1): The Morning of The Flight Test (And A/N) (Saber's P.O.V.)

That morning?

It was quite the Wake-Up call. May I add, quite colorful indeed. Thank you, Celeste, for making things extra sparkly...

"WHO DID THIS?! WHO THE HELL DID THIS?! WHO IS THE COCK-EYED, DAISY-SNIFFING MILK-DRINKER WHO JUST SIGNED THEIR OWN DEATH WISH?!" I hear from the Loudspeakers and smirk. Oh, yes. A lovely, lovely morning Wake-Up call! I stand from my bed and stretch, groaning softly as my sore body gives way and allows my wings and legs to move. Training last night was so intense, for such a short period of time.

I sigh happily and make my way down the main road, and look around. People were laughing and watching the fireworks going off with wide grins, pointing out various flashes and shapes. If only Tyler were awake to see this. That thought brings back the pains that I felt through our bond. It was like a poison, a lethal, horrid poison seeping though our bond, threatening to tear my will to continue apart. It was just as much a consuming darkness as I had thought my own pain had been. He fought a near losing battle against it, and I was helpless to assist him.

It agonized me to know that. That I could only wish for him to become better, but know in the end I could never help him to become completely healed of this searing agony he endured alone. All I could do was pray that he could find Peace from the pain.

I wasn't paying attention to the people eating around me, my eyes downcast as I ate. My normal bright glow nothing but a distant memory. Many of the other Dragons all seemed to just stare and gawk at me. But, surprisingly, I didn't care. I didn't feel like giving two cents what they thought. I felt like a failure, a weak link in the bond between my rider and I.

A soft touch brings me from my thoughts, and I see Caedmon looking at me, eyes wide in concern. 'You alright?' He asks softly, and I shake my head.

'No... No, I'm not... but hey, Flight School today. That should brighten my mood a bit...' I reply softly, and Caedmon smiles goofily.

'Yeah! I can't wait to fwy! It'll be great!' He chirps, and I softly laugh.

'Yeah, I can't wait either... But for different reasons...' I say with a smile, albeit weak. Caedmon blinks.

'What your reason?' He asks.

'To prove to the other dragons who broke and burned me, who shattered my body, and almost my spirit, that I am unbroken in will and soul. I am going to fly to prove that I am free from their pain they inflicted to me.' I growl a bit proudly. 'I will fly to bring them to earth.'

Caedmon blinks, then grins and purrs. 'There my old fweind! There my partner!' He cheers, before looking at Justin, and nodding. 'Aw, I guess I got to go... See you later, fweind!' He says and then hops onto Justin's shoulder, Justin nodding to me with a smile. I smile and bow my head gently back to the two, before I eat my breakfast a bit faster. I would fly today, and by flying, I would bring them all down.

Kaedra, the Metal Dragon...

Jakaress, the Fire Dragoness...

Freya, the Forest Dragoness who poisoned me so I could not resist them...

I will bring them crashing down.

Just a quick update, so I can get working on the true Flight Test Chapter. Shorter chapters are easier to crank out, but I'll be back to long chapters once things get a little less crazy IRL. Till them folks, stay legit, and don't quit!

See y'all on the Flip side!~
