The new girl

Guys im sorry, May died of Pancreatic cancer, but he goes to Ned or MJ's houses sometimes for dinner and he has his own little apartment so it's not like he's in PHYSICAL bad shape. Cancer is a real threat to people and can tear apart families once it's run it's course, if you ever are given the opportunity, please help families who have loved ones with cancer.

A girl wearing a ocean-colored and black robe/cloak was standing outside a SHIELD conference room waiting for Fury. All of the avengers were already inside (Yes, Tony too, this is something of upmost importance to him for once) and they were just waiting for him. I saw a text on my phone, which I enchanted to keep people from tracking it, turns out Fury would be a few more minutes and that I should just go ahead in. I sighed, I don't particularly like people, especially ones I don't know, but I went in anyways, adjusting my bracelet. I sat down at the end of the table (not the head, the foot?), hood completely shading my face from view, like always. They all stared as I walked in and sat down. They all opened their mouths to say something, but just then Fury walked into the room holding stack of manilla folders. Before he could start talking, Tony beat him to it. "Fury, who is this person and why is she here?"

Fury looked up and then remembered he had told me to sit down before he came in.

"This," Fury stated, "is Agent Scythe. She isn't an actual agent but more like agent-adjacent. She is only called in for certain missions, but most of the time she is called in it requires clearing out HYDRA bases or some other especially high-level threat."

"Agent Scythe? Seriously Pirate, what's her real name?" asked Clint

"I don't actually know, she is extremely protective of her identity but previous to this we've noticed her clearing out HYDRA agents getting up to no good in the city before we could even send agents, so I've made the decision to trust her."

"Well then why don't we find out?" said Clint, who was sitting beside me, as he tried to pull down my hood.

I simply grab and twist his wrist/arm and kick the chair out from under him, my nails slightly sharper than they were before. Natasha smirks at the sight before her. I say nothing but they clearly get the message. I release him and sit back down, gesturing for Fury to continue with the meeting.

"Well, where were we? Oh yes, we need you all to clear out this HYDRA base. From what we could find, although it isn't much, the vigilante known as Spiderman has been captured and being tested on. We want you to free him, and based on his record villans caught, we want you to offer him a spot on the Avengers, which you have already been considering anyways. It's a large base and the capture of Spiderman is no small nor unimportant task which is why Agent Scythe will be helping you."

He passes out the folders, I already knew everything in there about Spiderman anyways, so I only looked at the parts concerning HYDRA and the base. It's large and hidden deep in a forest I know well, so it must be new. It's decently fortified, with plenty of guards, but an access spot through the vents, from the outside. That's my job. While we have no knowledge as to the layout of the base, we do know the vents go everywhere. My duty is to sneak through the vents, and figure out where Spiderman is, then take out the guards inside the entrance as quietly as possible before opening the doors and letting the Avengers in. Then we clear out the base and get Spiderman, any data from the tests, and any other important information before destroying the base itself.

"Hey!" Clint complains, "Why is she the one going and sneaking in the vents? I'm a trained spy and vent-extrodinare!"

The tiniest corner of Fury's mouth twitches up in a smirk before settling back to his default frown. "Because while she doesn't go in vents all the time, she is a master of tunnels, not to mention that because she has extremely advanced hearing, more so than Spiderman, she is a natural in the ways of stealth and silence."

"I'd like to see th-AH!" I make Steve jump and stop speaking as I just snuck up behind him and tapped his shoulder.

I go back to my seat as Fury says, "I think that settles that, now anymore questions?"

"Yeah, who's gonna lead us through the forest? It's pretty deep in there so even if we weren't trying to be sneaky we would have to land pretty far away." Asks Sam

I raise my hand at this, before scribbling down on a notepad that I knew the place well, and would often go there to relax.

They all raise their eyebrows at this and turn to fury, silently questioning why I did not simply say it.

"Hey, I know it's odd, especially considering she assured me she isn't mute, but the entire time we've worked together it's always been in silence on her part. She's never actually spoken to any of us, nor does it appear she will anytime soon. Anything else? No? Good. We leave immediatly. Head to the Quinjet NOW."
