Interns
It's the next morning, MJ going with me to school since she slept over last night.
Ned, Peter, MJ and I sat in the back of home room, anxiously waiting for the announcements. The results would be sent in any moment now, and the three winners would be picked up by some "Happy" and released for the rest of the day, for a quick tour of their workplace with Bruce/Stark/Pepper, a small get-to-know-you with them, and then to go home and celebrate such an accomplishment.

{3rd POV until we go back to school}
Tony, Pepper, and Bruce sat in a circle in the common room, and after telling their choice to one another they would text happy who would print out three letters of acceptance to the children and bring them here.
"So," Tony started, setting down his glass of water-Pepper would kill him for drinking right now, "I'll start. I chose a kid called Peter Parker. He's the only kid who got 100%, and minus a slight record of being late is the top of his studies, apart from two other kids, not including a new kid that got there recently. He answered ever mechanical question correctly and precisely, even the trick question at the end."
Pepper nodded, looking at a paper in her hand, "I chose a Michelle Jones. One of two other kids. She has very interesting views and seems like a very strong woman. Figured out loopholes and ways around them that I would likely need quite a couple hours to figure out." She nodded and turned to Bruce, "Who'd you choose?"
"Well," Bruce started, "I chose Tidedancer an-"
Tony started, "You mean that slightly odd yet friendly girl Spidey told us about?"
Bruce got defensive, "Yes, but that's not why! Like Peter, she's the only kid to get 100% and even finished before all the other kids in her class. On one question, it was asked which plants would be incompatible for a hybrid, but she explained clearly that with certain tweaks to the environment and the plants genes, they would all be compatible. I checked her work, and she was right! Also, the question that asked why I should hire her, she said I shouldn't. However, she did give a very interesting and philosophical view on why whatever I did choose is what meant to happen, no matter who it was." Bruce handed them the last page of Tidedancer's quiz.
Tony and Pepper nodded sagely and turned to FRIDAY's nearest camera. "Friday, send Happy a text saying we choose Peter Parker, Michelle Jones, and Tidedancer..." He looked over at Bruce for a last name.
"Aethiri." Bruce complied, "tell him those are our choices, and they all go to Midtown high."

~Peter's POV cause there's not enough Cinnabon~
From my seat I could clearly see Happy -who I met in my visits as Spider-Man to the tower- walking up to the office with three letters in his hand. A few minutes later, the speakers came on, "Will Peter Parker, Michelle Jones, and Tidedancer Aethiri please come up to the front office with their things? Congratulations, you won the internships!" I saw MJ scowl at the use of her full name, but then smile a GENUINE smile as we got up with our things. We all hugged Ned goodbye and promised to catch up with him tonight, then walked to the office and were escorted to Happy's car.
By the time we arrived MJ's face went back to default, but Tidedancer and I could tell she was still secretly fangirling on the inside. We were given a tour of the cafeteria and most of the labs, to announce that we apparently had jurisdiction of them and the level if we needed something down here. A few looked annoyed that a couple kids could boss them around, but tried to hide it after a glare from Happy.
During the elevator ride to the Avenger's level, Happt briefed us that we would be working after school everyday except Wednesday, and on Saturdays we could optionally come in for however long we wanted to work that day with our mentors, and that everyday after school he would be driving us to the Tower. As soon as he finished, FRIDAY opened the elevator doors to reveal our new mentors, who gave us our top-level badges and brought us to their personal lab/office. Sharing a hug, we smiled and walked our separate ways to our mentors and waved goodbye until later that night.
~Tidedancer's POV~
I smiled, and waved goodbye to Ned and MJ as I followed Bruce to his lab, when we got there I finally spoke, "Tharn yora, Dr.Banner, iren sora Echera to be hern!" He looked at me oddly and I blushed, "What?" He asked.
I shyly smiled, "Sorry, I sometimes revert back to my native tongue when I get excited..."
He laughed, "It's fine, I just have no idea what you said! What language is it?"
I grinned, "A dead one at this point, only my family and a few others understand it, so a name wouldn't help you translate. But what I said was, 'Thank you Dr.Banner, I'm so excited to be here!'"
He calmly patted me on my back and I slightly freezes at the touch, Even after being an Avenger he was still a semi-stranger, after HYDRA and yesterday's flashback, I wasn't used to touching so much. He noticed but left it alone, "Your welcome," he kindly spoke, "For any intern or the such in my department though, I always give them a health check up, just a simple thing really."
I internally shivered, I hate hospitals, but it would look odd to refuse. I just needed him to not get my DNA. "Alright," I shrugged, looking him in the eye, "But no blood tests please, I hate needles and people having my blood makes me oddly uncomfortable."
He nodded and led me to his personal bit of the Medbay, his being a decent size and curtains/walls separating it from the rest. He told me to sit on the table and he left so I could put on a hospital gown. When he returned I had my back turned, searching in my satchel to double check I had everything. He dropped his clipboard with a clatter, and I flipped his way as he picked it up. "Um...not to intrude, but aren't you a bit young to have Tattoos?"
I internally smiled, thinking of the line, 'Yes, yes we are' from Phineas and Ferb, but instead just shrugged, "It's part of a tradition where I come from, when you turn 13 you get a tattoo to represent something important to you."
He tilted his head, "Why wings?" He asked
I replied, having thought about this beforehand, "Freedom. That little feeling inside everyone that desires freedom, and both to leave the nest and have a way home through all odds. The flight to what you desire out of life and the leaps to get there. Wings could carry you across the world, fly you to your wildest dreams and fantasies, take you to a place where everything is left behind and you can just be when the world seems against you ."
His glasses had comically fallen to the tip of his nose, and he pushed them back up, nodding in either respect or understanding, I'm not sure which.
The checkup went smoothly and when we were done and headed to his lab, he asked me, "How did you figure out that question, with the hybrid plants? I had no idea." I turned to him and raised an eyebrow, "Well I had done it in the past of course! In my spare time I have gardens of plants I like to take care of, and I enjoy trying out theories for hybrids. For example, one hybrid I made out of diffrent saplings has sap stronger than flex-tape. But I'm sure you probably know a lot, being THE Bruce Banner and all." I know I was rambling a bit, but I was proud. Not of myself, but of what I made and how it progressed. Nature is better than people, that's what I've come to believe my whole life.
Bruce looked down a bit, "Yeah, yeah...Everyone loves the hulk..."
I stoped and stared at him in shock, "I noticed, but really? He isn't you. It's like a good version of Jekle and Hyde, he's well known for Hyde, but in truth Hyde wouldn't have been possible without Jekle. It's your accomplishments in genetics, biology, and radiation that you should be known for, not the person who isn't even you!" I continued to ramble, "What they fail to see is who you are and what YOU have done, not the big guy. He is pretty cool, but in his own right, just like you are cool in your own way. Those people need to get their dang heads out of the ground and realize there is more to you than just hulk, but a lot of amazing things that make you a special person worth praising!"
I stop to take a breath and he leans down (not that much, I'm only a few inches shorter) and gives me a hug. I freeze a bit again and awkwardly pat his back and he stands back up. "Thanks," he said, scratching the back of his neck, "Sorry...I just haven't really heard people say anything like that before... Anyways..." he opens the door to his lab, and I immediately run over to where he's testing the genetics of plants after being exposed to a new weed killer. Most of the weeds are dead, but so are a few different types of grass and a few common flowers.
Bruce walks over to me, "Could you help with that by any chance? Some weed killers don't kill all the weeds, and the ones that do are a bit expensive for anyone with a small income. Here's the recipe of chemicals, I just can't figure it out." I take a look at the recipe and pluck a leaf from the dead flowers and the healthy weeds, taking them under a microscope. Tilting my head, he gives me permission to add chemicals around the room to the mix, except a few dangerous ones in the back. I grab a couple easily found/extracted ones and retrieve my satchel, pulling out some clay and a few diffrent herbs, as well as a vial of sap.
Bruce raises his eyebrow as I set his concoction aside and begin, mixing chemicals and grinding the herbs with a mortar and pestle I keep around. I simply ignore him and continue my task. When the herbs are a dust I light a Bunsen burner and mix the chemicals with the herbs in a vial, letting the burner heat it as I slowly pour in the sap and a bit of clay slip. When it's finished, I stir it until it becomes clear and hand it to him.
He looks skeptical, but tries it on another batch of plants, all the weeds dying but the flowers staying perfectly healthy. He laughed a stuttering chuckle and ran his fingers through his hair, "Your a genius kid! And I got a text saying your friends are the same! How did you know to do that, and what plants were those?"
I laughed, "When you grow up surrounded by nature, and you need something easily made to keep the weeds in check, without hurting anything else. I guess I also just have a way with plants maybe? I don't really know. The bit in the vial is made from pine sap mixed with the melted wax from the pine cones. Best thing is, you only have to apply it once every year or two, since it stays in the ground a while and kills seeds too. As for the herbs, here." I scribble down a list on a sticky note and hand it to him. He nods and says that Tony wanted the three of us to go to the gym to get to know the avengers a bit, and to do a few physical tests.
Oi, I hope I don't reveal to much. Be it about the Scythe or Sickle.
