Day in the city

(It's Thursday now)

)Tidedancer's POV(

I walk out of school with MJ and Peter, and get in Happy's car like usual. Strange isn't staying overnight anymore, but he does keep popping up for no reason, which makes me nervous. What if he makes another attempt on my life?

When we arrive we go up to the penthouse/Avengers floor(s) like normal, and either work with our mentors or in my case, be with Loki since on Tuesday Bruce said we didn't really have anything to do. I wave to them and go up to the roof where Loki normally is, and true to form he's there.

He's sitting under a tree and I walk over to join him, leaning slightly on his shoulder and humming a tune that's been stuck in my head.

He gives me a hug and a quick peck before he continues his book. I look over his shoulder, "Whatcha reading?" I ask

He smiles and lowers the book, "It's a new series called Unwind. Dystopian, but a nice read."

I hum a response and use my magic to lift some water out of the pond, turning it into different shapes and casting speckles of rainbow onto the dirt set under our feet.

I get bored quickly enough and put the water back, I lean on his shoulder and close my eyes, soaking in the warmth and enjoying being by him. I feel an arm around me and I scotch a bit closer, gently playing with the longer bits of his hair and a small smile settles on his face.

"So," I say, "The camping trip is tomorrow."

He frowns, "Yes, three days right?"

I nod, "But hey, it's not that long right? And then we can watch movie together again or do whatever." He hums agreement and sets down his book, magicking it back to his room.

"Well then," he asked, "What shall we do today?"

I stand and help him up, "I don't really have anything planned, unless you do?"

He hummed, "We could always ask Bruce if I could steal you for a date."

I smiled, and held his hand walking towards the elevator. "FRIDAY," I ask, "Can you please take us to wherever Bruce is?"

The AI said nothing but the elevator began moving down to the library level (don't ask) of the tower, where Bruce was on an armchair in the corner.

"Dr,Banner?" Loki asked and he looked up from his book, "As you have nothing for her to do would you mind if I took her out of the tower for a bit?"

Bruce gave a small smile, "As long as you either bring her back before 8 or take her home I guess so. Also if anything happens keep in mind Clint or Nat will likely try to kill you." He snorts and goes back to his book.

Loki teleports us to Central Park and we just walk around, taking in the sight of happy families playing together in the park, and then seeing a book store and coffee shop that we promptly sprinted into.

We look at the menus and I snicker, "What?" He asked.

"I didn't know Cap was here." I leaned over and pointed at a menu item that said 'Iced Americano' he grinned and we settled back down, ordering vanilla Frappuccino's with some pasteries. We sat down at a small booth in the back and inhaled the sweet smell before delicately digging into the baked goods.

"This is delicious, I'll have to remember this place to return," Loki says, biting into a chocolate croissant.

I nod in response then leave to peruse their books for sale, finding a cheap trilogy called Under A Never Sky. It seems like a very good trilogy, I'll start reading once I get home.

Paying and slipping the books into my enchanted satchel we exit the building and continue to walk around, his arm around my shoulders and vice versa.

Eventually three figures come into view rounding a corner, and I spot a nearby mural, stopping to look at it. I withdraw a hat from my bag and put it on, the lip shading what little of my face can be seen from view.

Flash and two of his goons glance at us then move on, not recognizing me and I re-adjust the hat to sit more comfortably.

"Are you alright Tidedancer? Why did you need a hat?" Crap crap crap, he can't find out but you can't lie to the god of lies either!

"Oh," I say, "It's nothing I'm sure. Besides thinking about it, it's better to protect myself from the sun sooner rather than later?"

He hums, but something tells me he doesn't believe it's the whole truth. He excuses himself to the nearby restrooms and I settle myself down on the benches outside, grabbing out one of my new books to read.

Soon though I hear footsteps and a whistle, "I knew it was you beautiful." I look up and freeze, Flash was here but thankfully without his goons.

"Go away Flash It's been a good day." I sigh, looking down again at my book while discreetly keeping an eye on him, hoping for him to leave.

Alas my hopes were not answered, "Oh but it could be so much better," he purred, in a manner that was honestly disturbing to me, "Now that I'm here everything can be so much better darling." He set a hand on the bench backing beside my shoulder and leaned in with a smile.

I sigh and clench all the muscles in my body, completely done with his schist and really hoping he would back off, "I told you," I said quietly, "I'm taken." You clod, I added silently.

He raised an eyebrow, "Oh really? By who? Puny pathetic Parker? Or maybe his fat nerdy friend?" He puffed out his chest, "Come on baby, it doesn't get any better than this."

He leaned slightly closer to my face and I pulled back, "What? No! Ned is his name, and he is simply a friend. Peter is like my brother you idiot!"

He came a bit closer and put on a whiny voice, "Come on girl don't be like that! You know you want me, we could really be something." I shivered.

)Loki's POV(

I heard the whole thing from around the corner where I was washing my hands, Midgard's public bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

When I got out I immediately froze the boy in his place, although he hadn't seen me. I faintly remember him passing us when she stopped and tugged on her hat. I knew she wasn't telling the full truth, but why did she try to hide this?

She let out a sigh of relief and her whole body relaxed. I ran over, "Are you alright? He didn't do anything to you did he?"

She slightly averted her eyes, "Yeah I'm fine. He's just an idiot who doesn't know when to stop."

I raised a brow, "If you had told me I could've dealt with it sooner, you know."

She sighed (wow I should make people stop sighing), "Yeah but Peter already had to give the 'no killing minors' speech to Tony when he found out about Flash, I didn't know how you would react."

I placed a hand on her shoulder, "I would've stopped it. But yes, probably a good idea if you don't want him dead. Although I can turn him into a goat if you'd like."

She snorted, "Nah, that'd be an insult to goats."

I smiled and offered my hand, then we continued to walk around just happy to be by each other. Why couldn't my childhood have been like this? It's amazing, minus Strange making attempts on her life. I'll need to watch him about that.

)Strange's POV(
(Quick note, I do apologize to any Dr.Strange fans with this, I do not think he is a bad guy or anything, I just figured he would be the best candidate for this role)

I pace around my room, Vampires grow either extremely weak or bloodthirsty without a bit of blood each day, and that one is still young, so why didn't she?

Oh right. I recall the small glimpse of a wrapping on Loki's arm, under his sleeve. She must've used a vampiric seduction power and fed on him. He might've done it willingly but unlikely.

And yet...he may still not know. He made her cough out the rigged pancake and she could've fed while he was asleep, then wrapping it so he wouldn't notice until it healed.

Either way the next time will be soon, when he isn't around to 'save' her.
