"In this world, there are three variations of the earth; the middle where we live in, the spirit world for myths and the monster world." He said looking at his class of five bright students he was supposed to train and nurture to maturity.
  
  Let's go back a little to the beginning of this story.
  
  [[SOMEWHERE IN JAPAN]]
"You're gonna love it here." said the driver.
"Heard that line one too many times already" A certain ash haired boy replied from the back of the black car they were in.
They were currently driving on a road path in Aokigahara, Japan. The trees bent sideways making it look like they were driving through a forest tunnel.

"Driving through here in early autumn makes it feel magical with the yellowing leaves." He thought.

"No really! The school's awesome and you'll meet so many interesting people." He said trying to hype the boy up and make him match his excitement.

David was one of the school's official drivers that transported both international and returning students from other regions and for some justified reason, every trip to him was exciting as the last but was a little sad too.
  He knew the fate of most of the kids and their backstories, "Especially this particular batch." He thought solemnly.

After a few more minutes, they passed by two huge pillars that held up an engraved sign in gold "ROSEWOOD ACADEMY." it read and continued to drive on school grounds.

"Why the hell would they build a school in the middle of a place called suicide forest?'' The boy thought, the land stretched out wide and from the left side of the car, he looked out the window and saw the tip of the school that took up 1,000 acres of Aokigahara.

"Ah, I see you've done your research".
"Yes." He said, cause that was exactly the type of person he was forced to be— the kind that researches his new home every time he moved to determine how long he'd last there before moving again.

They drove straight for two(2) more minutes before taking a left and crossing over a bridge.
The bridge had crystal clear water and a few aquatic life in it. They then came face to face with the school.

Rosewood Academy was a 60ft high modern boarding school in the middle of Aokigahara, Japan. It had 2,000+ students and staffs to house, feed and clothe.
Two(2) huge brick walls that separated at the middle acted as a shield from the forest to the school, the wall ran down to the back of the school and met at the middle, it had a metal gate in the middle that only closed at night and opened the first thing and iron barbed wires with electric fences on them.

He got down from the car and walked a little bit towards the entrance, the scent of the wet forest floor hit his nose and he took a moment to appreciate it.

He looked up and saw little groups of students in black and red uniforms conversing and running around.

  "TIM! TOM! " The driver called from behind him to two seventh grade looking twins running around, they looked towards them and grinned while running their way.
  "DADDY!" They said in unison.
  "Oh, that's why he was so excited to come." he thought, they reached them barely breathy and ran to hug their father.

  "Good boys." He said crouched down on the wet floor hugging them tightly.
He looked at the scene but looked away quickly cause he felt something tighten in his chest.

  "Help this boy over here to get around ok? we'll talk more when you return".

  "OK." They said on unison grinning widely.

  They ran ahead and asked him to follow them, but just as he took a step forward
  "Leonidas." David called out from behind him, Leonidas looked back to him and he said "Good luck." before entering his car.
"You're gonna need it." He muttered to himself knowing what was coming before looking ahead and driving off to offload the boy's bags at the port.

  "Come on." One of the ginger-haired boys shouted to him nearly inside the school.

  "We'll take you to admin to get your room number and school schedule before going to port to tell them where to drop your bags off at." They said running through the open metal gates.

  He stepped through them and could see the courtyard better, it was huge and had a polished stone swan in the middle, the animal had water coming out of it's stone beak—supplying water to the fountain below it.

Ahead of him were five(5) huge buildings that stretched down wide and even more buildings hidden at the back, in front of the middle one(the biggest) which he assumed was the main entrance, were two grand long-winded staircases that had two bronze lion dogs guarding it with their fangs bearing and tongues sticking out.

  He began walking towards one of the staircases and a few students stopped to stare at the ash haired, weird-looking boy.
  He understood why they were staring, it wasn't every day you'd meet a European and African mixed person so his features must have confused and awed them, heck he even confused himself sometimes.

  He reached the staircase and began climbing without anyone approaching him to know his ethnicity/race, ahead the two boys had already reached and stopped to wait for him.
  He reached them in a minute and the boys push open the two huge mahogany doors to reveal the inside.

  Inside was a grand chandelier that illuminated the whole room, it hung on a high ceiling reaching about 30ft high, the floor had polished granite tiles that shone under the bright light. Four(4) ionic columns(pillars) stood at each point of the wide square room.

  A receptionist desk with a wide smiling woman sat at the right side of the room, the twins ran to her and greeted "Good Afternoon Miss Sophia".

   "Good Afternoon boys, and who is your friend?".
  "He's a new student, dad said we should bring him to the admin office".

    "Well, I hope you have a wonderful time here..." She said to him waiting for a name.

    "Leonidas." He replied.
    "Yes, Leonidas would you care for some cookies and milk?" She asked grabbing a tray already.

    "No! No! We're already running late so maybe next time." The boys said hurriedly while sweat dropping.

   "Is something wrong with the cookies?" He thought to himself.

   "Really? Well, that's too bad then, next time." She said, her smile dropping a little.
  He was about to tell her that he'd love some when he was dragged by both twins towards the left to the stairs shouting "Bye!!!!".

When they were out of earshot, he bent a little to the boys and asked: "Why did you do that?".

  One of the boys answered, "Miss Sophia is a really nice lady but her cooking sucks and can give you diarrhoea, so say no very nicely and avoid eating them at all cost".

  "I tried them once when I first arrived here." said the other boy shivering from the memory.
  "Pooped for a week straight, couldn't sit down and had to down a whole lotta liquid and antibiotics".

  "Damn, Thank God I didn't try one." He thought sweat dropping.

They climbed and reached the first landing, two paths stood on each side but the boys continued up to the second flight of stairs, the same thing happened for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th flight till they came to the 5th landing, at this point he was hunched over and panting while the boys barely broke a sweat.

  They turned right and walked on the platform, Leonidas looked over the railing and saw Miss Sophia offering a group of unfortunate clueless boys her diarrhoea cookies.

They soon arrived at a passageway and walked through it, turned right and then left before coming face to face with two big Oak doors with gold handles and a sign that read "Admin" the twins knocked twice and stood waiting.

  "Come in." A woman's voice said, they stepped into the office and ahead was another office that had a gold plating on the door with the words "HEADMASTER".

   To the left of the room was a petite Japanese woman in her late thirties, she wore a bright smile and a red blouse with a black pencilled skirt, her desk was filled neatly with paperwork and a black and gold plate that said "Secretary: Mrs Kobayashi" and on the other desk right beside hers was a printer.

  "Good afternoon Mrs Kobayashi." They sang in unison.
   "Good afternoon boys." She replied back with a bright smile.
   "Good afternoon." Leonidas greeted too.

   "Afternoon to you too....." She replied waiting for a name.

  "Leonidas." He replied.
   "Ah yes Leonidas, Our new student, wait while I search up your name on our database, do you have your admission slip here with you?" She replied.

  He pulled out the folded paper from his trousers and handed it to her, she took it and began typing into her desktop.

  "You're here on scholarship?" She asked, "yes I am." He replied.

  "Ok then, Come with me while we go get your uniform." She said standing up and turning on her printer.

  "You boys can go, You've done a wonderful job and I'm sure David must be waiting for you".

  "Thank you Mrs." They said running back to the courtyard where their father must be waiting for them but said goodbye to Leonidas first.

   Mrs Kobayashi and Leonidas left the office after she locked the door behind her while jangling her keys, they turned left and walked straight before reaching a door that said "Storage", unlocking and walking in.

  Inside were rows of unpacked boxes, some were open with their contents spilling out. She walked to one of them and turned to ask "What's your size?".

  "What sizes are there?" He asked not knowing his specific size.
  " S, M, X, XL, XXL and XXXL." She replied.
   "XL should be fine for me".

  "Ok that's for the blazer and shirt but for your trousers and shoes, I'll need a specific size".

  "For trousers, I wear size 30 and size 40 for shoes." He replied wondering if those were too big or small for his age.

  "Ok," She said while picking his sizes, "here you go." She handed him his uniform, he examined it and saw a black blazer, white long sleeve button shirt, black trousers and a red satin tie.
  "Here in Rosewood, we assign name tags that are premade for our students." She said while advancing towards 4 file cabinets at the end of the room.

She opened one labelled under 'L' and started searching for his name, she pulled a tag out and gave it to him, it read "Leonidas Lyre".
  "Yep, that's me." He said with his past behind him and a new school where he could have new beginnings.

Well, that's it for chapter 1, sorry if it's too long but I had to cut it into two already 😅. next chapter coming on Friday and it's going to be way shorter and funnier, we'll meet new interesting characters and another main character, tell me what you thought of this one and I'll see you soon❤️
