|| CHAPTER-37 ||
"Why did you call me in private? Where's Taehyung?" Jimin asked as he entered Jin's chamber.
"There's something you need to know," Jin began softly.
"What do you mean?"
"You need to go undercover for this mission," Jin explained.
"I know that-"
"I can't guarantee your safety this time..." Jin gulped evidently and looked down.
"What do you mean?"
"This guy has a base that's spread all over the world and even if we catch him red-handed, we might bring a per cent of people that he has held captive."
"And...?" Jimin asked nervously.
"It's impossible to save all of them," Jin spoke and slumped over the chair in defeat.
"What if I want to bring them all back? What will be the consequences?"
"You can't do that through legal routes."
"Do you have a plan?" Jimin asked.
"I do. But it's too dangerous!" Jin exclaimed.
"I trust you. Go ahead with the plan. I will prepare to leave by tomorrow," Jimin saluted Jin one last time before heading out.
____
Jin took the initiative and planned the entire sketch to trap Zhu.
It took them over a year to track down the possible hotspots of his trafficking. And the Base Station was still afresh but managed to get hold of a major chunk of his trading spots and safely escorted the girls to hospitals.
Agent Juliet had consistently worked day and night to sneak into the dungeons to pull out the girls. They had successfully captured around five main spots of Zhu's illegal trading.
Jimin hadn't returned home in months and Hoseok was tensed. He felt guilty about that day. It pricked his heart every single night to have wished so cruelly for his brother.
He wanted to apologise to him; cry and tell him that it was all a lie and that he spoke those words out of anger.
He genuinely loved his brother for who he was and was proud of him. But he never got the chance to confess.
Jimin had asked the staff to keep sending letters of his safety to Hoseok every month so he stays assured.
Little did the agents know that Hoseok was too sharp and he knew well they weren't from Jimin and he was in some kind of trouble.
____
It took them three months to cut down the locations of the man and find evidence against him to capture him red-handed.
Jin got a piece of information that the man was holding the biggest cruise meet for investors all over the world.
It was the best opportunity to attack the cruise and get a hold of his bases.
Jimin was in-charge to carry out the mission. He snuck into the cruise ship and tackled down multiple guards before heading towards the V.I.P sleeper rooms. He escaped passed all the possible cameras thanks to Tae who was guiding him from the outside.
Jimin's instinct told him something was off.
It couldn't be so easy to just enter the room of this man without having bloodshed outside.
Jin also wanted to confirm over the cameras but there was not a single hint of movement from the enemy's side.
Jimin sneaked into the room and shuffled towards the corner wall. Before he could sneak in and hide, the lights turned 'on'.
"Welcome dear~"
Jimin's heart hammered as he heard the voice of a stranger. He slowly turned around to see multiple men standing all around the room with the most complex snipers in their hands.
"I was waiting for you, baby~"
"Well, looks like you had everything planned inside out to catch me, huh?" Jimin smirked as he looked around the room of men.
"Too much confidence! I don't like that. I can't wait to curb that!" The guy laughed obnoxiously, placing a hand over his mouth.
"Your destruction is close, Zhu Long Cao. If it's not today. It would be some other day," Jimin addressed and pulled out a small bullet-shaped pill to place it in his mouth.
"I can't believe you are going to kill yourself, tonight. But watch this before you do so," Zhu played a video over his large T.V screen.
Jimin slowly turned around to watch the screen. His heart dropped to his knees as he watched hundreds of girls being pushed into a truck and their screams were ringing in his ears.
"The moment you bite that pill, those set of girls will be sold to various countries for a very interesting purpose," Zhu leaned to place his elbows over his thighs and watch Jimin shiver in fear.
"Do you still want to kill yourself?" Zhu spoke in a seductive tone.
Jimin let the pill fall off his lips. He gulped back the lump he held in his throat. He slowly turned towards Zhu who sat there like a proud animal that was content to see Jimin submit.
To watch Agent Juliet summit.
"I am proud of your decision. Now come here and satisfy me. I will lock them in the dungeons instead of selling them away." Zhu offered and smirked.
"And what makes you think I trust you with words?" Jimin scoffed and took back a step.
"Aren't you the famous Agent Juliet? The single man that took over my five bases in a single shot. You caused a lot of damage to my business and it's only right to show you the consequences of it. Don't you think?"
Jimin gritted his teeth and fisted his hands, ready to fight back against all the bastards that stood before him and kill this man with his bare hands.
"You are under my capture, Agent Juliet. You can neither escape nor die. Every time you satisfy me, sexually. I will let go of one of those bitches from the dungeons," Zhu smirked and got off his chair.
Jimin pulled his gun out and pointed it toward Zhu.
"Careful, the moment you pull that trigger, you will kill yourself as well as the girls that are held in the truck," Zhu snickered and walked toward Jimin with his eyebrow perking up in amusement.
The time was ticking and Zhu kept slow reading steps toward Jimin which only increased the pace of Jimin's heart in fear.
"Hyung....please do something," Jimin begged through the mic.
"I...am sorry, Jimin. I told you I can't guarantee your safety this time," Jin mumbled through the mic and cut off the communication.
It was the first time he was utterly scared.
It was ages ago when he addressed Jin as Hyung.
He could have easily killed himself that night to protect his dignity but the screams of the underage girls echoed through his ears, preventing him to take an absurd step.
To submit before a monster!
A/n:- Be it working at the borders of a country or being an officer of an area. The word 'serving the country' sounds fancy. It sounds too heroic.
But it comes with an unexplainable amount of responsibility and suffering.
All the missions do not succeed. They are a few that fail.
I wanted to show a picture of a failed mission and the after-effects of that.
Hope it didn't kill the vibe of the book.
Who's ready to know Hoseok's side of the story?
Raise your hand if you are ready to bang my comment section to know the truth behind Jimin's fake death?
I will upload the next chapters tomorrow.
Hope you guys liked the chapter.
Love you guys
