I heard voices yell and then curses being shouted on the other side of the glass where I was sure Caleb was giving their computers hell. Monroe had drawn away in shock and had spun around to head for the door which automatically locked when the power went out; We were locked in.

"Hey!" Monroe shouted and slammed the door with his fist. "What the hell is going on out there? Get the shit working again!"

"You're so fucking stupid," I chuckled from the dark and then tiptoed away from my spot. "If you'd only set your sexism aside, you maybe would've noticed I was stalling time."

"Stalling—what the fuck have you done?" Monroe growled from the door, and I now vaguely saw him lift his gun, pointing it aimlessly into the dark. "Is this why you turned yourselves in? You wanted to take down the whole CIA? What a fucking suicide mission. You'll never make it past the second floor. The alarms will go off any second and you'll be dead the next."

I rolled my eyes as I edged closer to him, trying my best to keep myself from bumping into anything. I had made sure to memorize the room before it all went black. "We'll see about that, jackass."

Just a second of silence passed before a muted gunshot suddenly went off in the next room where Vince was, which was then quickly followed by two more. The sound caused Monroe to fire his gun too, the momentary flash of his bullet giving me the quickest sight of where he was standing precisely. I used that to my advantage.

With a roar, I lunged for him and didn't give him a chance to react before I had tackled him to the ground and slammed his hand against the floor. He tried to fight me off, but I just kept bashing his hand against the floor with my own cuffed ones while he fired his gun endlessly, until eventually, he had to let go. I then punched him straight across the face and made him hiss, but then he grabbed me by my throat. In a split second, he had us rolled over and was now sitting on top of me.

"You're fucking crazy," He snarled down at me as I reached up to grab his face when his hands locked around my throat in an effort to strangle me. He squeezed me even tighter and I felt my airways close. "You need to just fucking die. Go into the light, I'll make sure your boyfriend follows soon."

"Fuck... you," I rasped and then with a low, feline hiss, reached down to his crotch, found his eggs and cracked them.

Monroe... howled.

The next second he let go of me, and I watched as he pathetically rolled over like a wounded dog on the ground, clutching his genitals. I got up from the floor in the meantime, panting to get my breath back.

Anger spiked in my stomach as I then heard him utter pained curses like 'fucking bitch' and 'stupid whore' while he groaned on the ground. I growled angrily and planted my foot in his ribcage. "Coglione!"

He let out a harsh breath when I kicked him again, then winced as I crouched down and punched him in the face, too. God, I had been waiting years to do this.

"Next time you look in the damn mirror, remember who fucking did this to you!" I yelled at him, just as the lights came back on. I didn't care. I punched him again and again, and all he did was groan. "Next time you fucking play with yourself, remember who broke your fucking dick. And know that we'll do a lot worse than just that to any man who tries to fucking put us down! Get in formation, bitch!"

"Rya! Porca miseria," I hadn't even heard the door open and shut. I only knew that one minute I was beating Monroe into a pulp, the next a pair of familiar hands were pulling me off him, bringing me back against his chest. "Rya, merda, he's down. Don't waste more energy on him, we're on a time schedule."

"The hell I fucking will!" I growled to Vince who locked me in his grip when I squirmed to get out. He had obviously gotten out of his cuffs which I still hadn't. "He's a sexist, chauvinistic pig that's harassed me since the first day I stepped into this building! He's called me a bitch more times than I care to remember," I shouted as I continued to claw in Vince's grip. "Of course that's his prerogative and this is just mine."

Vince froze up, but suddenly eased his grip on me. "He called you a bitch?"

Next thing I knew, Vince let go of me, but not so that I could continue my work. Instead he pushed me aside and stepped up to Monroe himself, only to crouch down in front of him. I saw him glare down at him with disgust in his eyes, as if he couldn't decide what to—

His fist impacted with Monroe's face so fast I almost missed it. With a loud crack, he bashed it inwards and broke his nose so blood poured out. Monroe howled in pain again, but didn't move his hands from his crushed jewels, maybe because he was afraid they'd get another piece. But Vince didn't seem to think they even deserved it.

"Cazzo," He scoffed down at him before he rose to his feet again.

I swore... I had never been as proud of- or sexually attracted to Vince as I was this very moment. When he turned his head to me and gave me a thorough glance to check if I was unharmed, I was dog food.

I had my lips on his before I could even realize I was doing it. I kissed him hard, feeling him stumble back a step and hearing his small grunt of surprise before he caught me and kissed me back. His arms wrapped around me and drew me closer, just as our kiss intensified. I was so fucking turned on right now, I wanted to have sex even with Monroe still in the room.

Maybe that'll show the bastard what a woman turned on looks like.

And the size of Vince's dick.

Vince was the one who had to pull away in the end and then brushed a strand of hair from my face as I panted heavily. "What was that for?"

"For being the sexy man that you are," I told him, watching him raise a brow. "If we make it out alive, I'm tying you to my bed tonight and fucking you until I can't sit up straight. Then afterwards, you can have your turn."

Arousal flashed in Vince's eyes, and I then felt the unmistakable bulge against my inner thigh that informed me what he thought of that idea. "Merda, Rya."

I smirked and then pecked his lips. "But work first. We should get going. You said it yourself, we're on a time schedule. We should turn our earpieces on."

"Guns and sex," He spoke as he took a step back, giving me a dark and heated look as I licked my bruised lips. "That's what you are."

"Don't you forget it," I smirked at him, but then we got to work. Vince quickly helped me unlock my cuffs and then we both turned on our earpieces. After the initial small frequency hiss, we heard Caleb's excited voice break through clearly.

"Hello from the other siiiiide!"

I instantly flinched and so did Vince when the volume of his voice nearly turned us deaf. "Jesus, Caleb. Tone it down. How's everything looking?"

"I'm so happy to hear you guys are alive and still just as boring," Caleb chirpily replied and we then heard a slurping sound. Was he drinking a slushie while hacking? "So far everything is going according to plan! You've got a lot of heat coming in from the hall, both left and right. When you step out the door, make sure you're focused. I count at least a dozen men."

"Right, thank you," I said and looked at Vince who heard everything as well. "You focused?"

Vince nodded and then looked down at the guns I saw he had acquired, probably from the guards in his extraction room. "I'm good. You?"

I briefly turned on my heel, then leaned down and grabbed Monroe's gun. I checked the mag and then frisked his person for the rest and stood up. "I'm good, too. Are we ready?"

"As can be," Vince affirmed and armed his guns.

I nodded and then pressed my earpiece. "You heard that? We're all good here, are you set with everything on your end, Caleb?"

"You have no idea," He said in a voice that sounded just too smug. I didn't even want to know what that meant. "Oh snap, more men just came from the bathroom. There's almost two dozen now."

I sighed and closed my eyes. We were so screwed. As I opened my eyes again and looked at Vince, I knew he knew, too. We had no body armor and only three Glocks and limited mags.

"I'm keeping my promise," Vince told me and I saw how his lips twitched. "Are you?"

I smiled back and nodded confidently. "Hell yeah."

"Alright!" Caleb cheered over the earpiece, just as me and Vince readied our weapons and stepped up to the door. "Let's do this!"

And then, just as we were about to step out of the door, something suddenly erupted. Over all the loudspeakers on the interrogation floor, music suddenly started to pour through. It only took me a milisecond to figure out who was doing it as the speakers started playing Immortals by Fall Out Boy.

"Is he kidding?" I drawled and looked at Vince who lifted a skeptical brow. "Please tell me he's kidding."

"Shut up, this was hard!" I heard Caleb whine through my earpiece, nearly blowing out my eardrums. "I had to choose between this, 'Titanium' or 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot', so don't you dare complain! Just get your ass out and shoot some people! But don't kill!"

I rolled my eyes as the music kept blasting through the speakers. I then turned my head to Vince again. "Okay, I guess this is happening. We ready?"

Vince nodded again and trained his eyes on the door. "I'll lay down cover for you. Take down as many as you can without killing."

I took a deep breath and then nodded. "Alright, but be careful."

"Where's the fun in that?" He smirked. "Let's go."

He kicked the door open with a slam, and instantly, it was a war zone. We both stepped up to the sill of the door and shot down each our side of the hall where CIA agents had lined up with their weapons drawn. Everyone opened fire.

I couldn't see what Vince was doing. He was on the left and I was shooting right, both of us shooting almost synchronic. When my mag ran out, I pulled back to reload, Vince instantly grabbing his other gun and shooting the other way as well. When I got my gun ready, we instantly switched. He tossed me his second gun and I took over while he reloaded.

"I think this is what they call couple's goals!" I shouted to Vince over all the firing and the music. Thank God this floor was completely soundproof, otherwise the whole building would've heard us.

"On your left!" Vince shouted back, which instantly made me turn my head. One agent was advancing, dodging my rapid fire. I shot him in the leg.

"Are you talking side of the bed or sexual positions?" I shouted back as Vince now came back in, leaving me to reload my gun.

He swooped in and continued firing. "Both!"

"Awww, you guys," Caleb cooed from the other end. "Is there going to be a wedding? Can I be the best man? There has to be doves! I love doves! So what if they poop all over the place, you have to release doves when you open the church do—"

A bullet fired straight under my gun-arm, grazing the underside of it. I hissed in momentary pain, but then continued firing. "Damn it, Caleb, stop distracting me!"

"Sorry!" He prompted. "It's thinning out! How many of them are dead?"

"None on my side," Vince called back.

"Me neither," I responded, too. "I'm all arms and legs and a single shoulder!"

"Yay!" Caleb whopped. "When you get the chance, then get to the elevator! I'll beam you up like Scotty!"

Vince glanced my way and I read his mind. "Take the rest down by hand on three, then bolt to the elevator?"

His lips twitched. Then after another second, he spoke. "You can be the best man, Caleb."

As Caleb cheered over the earpiece, I laughed. We then counted to three and finally stepped out into the hall and charged for the few remaining agents.

Honestly, it all happened in a blur to me. I took a few hits, but I got them down eventually, Vince doing the same with his opponents. I was so hopped up on adrenaline, I hardly paid attention to what I was doing. I just knew that when I finally found myself standing in a bundle of fallen, unconscious agents, I was panting like a bitch in heat. Sweat was dribbling off my face and chest, stinging in the few cuts and scrapes I had gotten.

But we had made it out alive.

"Jesus," I whispered and sucked in breath after breath.

"—Is looking out for you," Caleb finished and then slurped on whatever he was drinking again. "You guys okay?"

I lifted my head from my bent-over position and found Vince almost mirroring me. He was leaning up against the wall, nodding my way to affirm he was okay, but out of breath like me.

"We're good," I told, taking a last deep breath. "We're on our way to the elevator."

"Sending one right now then."

I walked up to Vince who lifted a brow at me when I smirked. "What?"

"I was just thinking, you'll be panting the same way tonight."

"Jesus, Rya," Vince said, but a little smile twitched to his lips as well. "Vediamo se quella sarà la verità o se la farai tu."

"Come on, Spaghetti," I said as I pulled him along by the neck of his shirt, heading for the elevator that now dinged. "We're late for a very important meeting."

~~~
We had taken the elevator up, using the time in there to catch our breaths and take a short moment to relax before we had to be on again. The ride took less than a minute, but it was always something.
When the elevator doors opened, we came to a very deserted floor. Everyone was at the fake seminar Caleb had set up, so it was dead as a graveyard. It was just a bunch of offices and desks where agents on their off-time did their paperwork. Howard's office was at the far end of them all, the place where every agent at one point had stepped inside to get a scolding. We were all his kids in this department, and he was our father.
But for once, it was me coming to scold him. Not the other way around.
"Okay, guys," Caleb spoke over the earpiece as we stepped into the deserted hall, still on guard with our fingers on our triggers, just in case. "Everything is going according to plan. I have eyes on Howard, he's sitting in his office. It's up to you guys now. You have 45 minutes before we have to get you out. Good luck."
"Thank you," I replied. "And thanks for all the help, Caleb. You really are a genius."
He grinned a little on the other side, but then slurped his drink. "I know."
Me and Vince closed in on Howard's office, both with our guns raised. Vince shot me a look and raised a brow, asking me if I wanted to go in first. I nodded.
"Ladies first," He then whispered and made way for me. I gave a quick smile, but then took a breath as I placed my hand on the doorknob.
This was it. I would finally find out if the man I had trusted my life with as a young agent had betrayed me and been in tow with a company that experimented on innocent kids.
Here we go.
Without more hesitation, I turned the knob of the door and stepped inside, Vince hot on my toes. Both of our guns turned directly towards Howard who sat behind his desk in his chair.
Only it wasn't Howard.
Howard was sitting in the chair across from his desk where I had sat many times myself while getting my ass grilled. He was wearing the same expression as we had worn, the one that told he was currently getting lectured by the man occupying his real seat.
"Who the fuck are you?" I snapped at that person who sat calmly in the expensive leather chair, looking as if he owned it—owned the whole fucking building. His hands were folded in his lap and the way he was calmly leaned back told me he had been expecting us. But how?
"I'm not your enemy," He said in a slight accent and raised his hands a little to show good will. "But if you don't lower the guns, I'm definitely not your friend either."
"Who are you?" I repeated, keeping my gun pointed directly at him. Something about his face seemed oddly familiar, though. "I want a fucking name."
The man smirked a little and gave both me and Vince a little glance. He then pulled the chair back, stood up and buttoned his suit.
"Allow me to introduce myself; My name is Alexander Stone and I think it's about time we all had a little talk."
