Chapter - 58 (Epilogue)
I looked at the stage where there was the law chief and the head agent, Agent Wilson, standing.
I was currently in the Annual Law Award Ceremony of this year. It was one of the big ceremony that took place provetly where the top 10 agents were given awards for their hard work and bravery.
The ceremony was only consisted with secret agents, F.B.I. officers and police officers and their family. It was a private ceremony because the agents names were not suppose to be disclosed for safety. Each agents were only allowed to bring one guests as it was dangerous to bring more people in.
I looked beside my seat which I reserved for Ty and it was empty. Ty wasn't beside me today.
I sighed.
It had been a year of our marriage. The mission involving the school and drug dealers was finished long ago. As time went by, I got busy with other cases and Ty, well, he got promotion and became the principal of the school. We began to get busy as time went by and now, we weren't not even spending enough time with each other.
I would go home late from work or would be away from home for days to finish missions. Ty would be constantly busy in working with school conferences. I didn't blame him though. It was his dream to do something for students and being a principal, he was able to make new rules that would benefit students.
However, I did felt lonely and upset. But he wasn't the only person to blame. I was doing the same thing. We would stay the night together and the as soon as morning would come, we would walk in our different professional paths. And today, it was a ceremony and he was expected to come with me but he told me he was busy.
I bit lip and shook my head. It felt like we were both pulling apart slowly.
I heard a chores of clap as the law chief said his speech. I wasn't paying much attention to it though. Apparently, he was calling out the names of the top 10 agents to give them award but my mind was focused in the memories Ty and I shared in the beginning of out marriage when life wasn't as busy as today.
I gasped as I heard my name suddenly from the loud speaker.
I looked at the stage and heard the law chief saying again, "Agent Jade, please come to the stage to receive your award for being in the rank 5 in our top Agent list."
I sat on my seat. Shocked.
Rank 5?
Wow! That was unbelievable.
"Agent Jade," the law chief again called out.
I sprint out of my chair and made my way towards the stage. My mind was filled with joy.
I went to the stage and saw Agent Wilson smiling at me. He handed me a golden troffee and as I lowered my head, he slipped a medal down my neck.
Alhamdullillah!
I looked at Agent Winson and smiled. "Thank you."
I looked down the stage and saw the seat beside me which was empty. If Ty had came today with me then he could have seen me receiving this honour.
I sadly smiled at the law chief and got down the stage.
The law chief announced the other top Agents name as one by one those agents received their honours.
"I have a few more announcements to make," the law chief said.
I looked a the law chief.
"Our agents, especially our top agents are working extremely hard. Our top ten agents have been working with us for more than 5 years now and they never took a break from a job like this where everyday agents go through dangerous situation and deals with them," the law chief said. "Therefore, today, I am making an announcement that all the top ten agents are going to receive 2 years holiday."
I gasped in shock.
2 years?
I was happy but sad at the same time. I wasn't used to taking breaks and leaving my cases to others but I guess . . .
I look down to my belly and smile.
I guess the 2 years break is good for this little one. I wouldn't have to worry about its safety, plus, Ty would be happy.
Thinking of Ty . . .
I haven't told him anything about it. I never got the time to talk to Ty about it.
I heard claps of the crowds as I saw the law chief said.
It was then when my phone rang. I looked at the phone's caller ID and it was Ty.
Thinking of Ty brought a smile on my face. I checked the time. Ty was suppose to be in his conference. What was he doing phone calling me at this hour?
I answered the phone call, "Assalamualikum Ty."
"Walikum Assalam, Jess," I heard Ty saying.
I smiled. I missed his voice. It was rare for us to even talk in phone as we were constantly busy with work.
But hopefully, having 2 years break would give me some time to spend with Ty and . . .
I rubbed my belly which was still flat and small.
. . . This little one.
"Jess," I heard him say.
"Yes, Ty?"
"How is the ceremony going?" Ty asked.
"Well, I got an award and ranked 5th in the whole Secret Agebt Force," I smiled, looking at my award.
"Really? Mash Allah," he said. "I wish I could have seen you going in the stage and holding the award."
"Me too," I whispered.
"I am sorry, love. I really miss you but I will make up to you, baby."
I sighed.
"Where are you now? You think you can come home now?"
I looked at the ceremony and nktuced it was almost near the end kf the ceremony.
"Yeah, I will come home now but what are you planning, Ty!" I asked as I looked at the law chief.
I smiled at the law chief and made my way out of the show.
"Planning? I am doing nothing."
"Don't lie, Ty. I know you very well. You tone . . . You seam a littlw exceited than usual. Whats going in ur brain?" I asked, making my way towards the parkig lot.
Ty sighed. "I can't hide things for you now, can you my wife?"
"Ty . . ."
"Come home and you will see," Ty smiled hunging the phone.
I sighed as I hopped on my car and began to drive.
After an hiur and half, I reached our house. I parked the car in the parking lot and made my way towards the house when I noticed that there was no lights shown in the front yard or from the curtains.
I didn't open the house door yet but i could tell that there was no lights turn on.
Was it a blackout?
But that usually doesn't happen. I needed to check the meter box which was at the backyard of the house on a wodden box that was attached to the balcony of the back of the house.
I began to walk to the back yard. The night was full moon. The wind was blowing a little cold today. As I reached the back yard, I was shocked.
The whole backyard was decorated with lights and heart shaped ballons. There was a small table with two chairs. The table had a red cloth on it.
I went nearthe take and saw the heart shaped pineapple cake on top of the table.
Suddenly, I felt two arms wrapping my waist from my back, head resting on my neck. A sudden touch like that made goosebumps on my skin.
"Happy 1 year wedding anniversary, Mrs. Jasmin Ishfaq," I heard a whispered as Ty brought his face closer to mu cheeks, holding me from back and kissed it.
I was happy. My heart was filled with joy. It was hard to believe it was already a year and the fact that Ty remembered about our anniversary and made such beautiful date for us . . . It was beyound surprising.
I turned around to face Ty and threw my arms around his neck. His arms slide under my legs, lifting me from the ground.
"You remembered . . ." I whispered, nuggling in his neck.
Ty brought my face away from his neck and held it to face him. "I can never forget the day I got you as my wife, Jess."
I pressed my forgead on his, cupping his cheeks with my hands. "Gosh, I missed you, Ty."
"So did I," Ty whispered capturing my lips with his.
I enjoyed the little momment between us. The kiss was gentle and sweet. I missed this tenderness. Even though we lived in the same house, in the same room, we never had time for each other because we were constantly busy and not to mention, I was in mission, working in different cities so we didnt had much time for ourselves.
Kissing Ty after all these months elt much better and addictative. Our moth rhymth as we kissed deaper. I didn't wanted to let go what we were sharing now. I missed his. And I could sense Ty missed it too. His kiss was getting aggressive and I didn't wanted to stop.
It was then when I suddenly felt a sense of dizzyness. My body felt numb all of a sudden. Ty seemed to notice it and quickly pulled away from the kiss to let me breath the air. He out me on the chair as I leaned on the chair.
It was common in pregnancy and having this tittle one growing inside me for one month now, I was getting used to the feeling.
"Love?" Ty asked worridly. "Are you okay? Should we go to a doctor? We can cancel our date today and . . ."
"No," I said as I looked at Ty. "You did all these for us, Ty. We are not ruining for such commin thing."
"But . . ." Ty still looked worried.
I sighed. I couldn't blame him though. I knew how protective Ty was about me but I had to tell him that these symptoms were normal in this situation.
I felt Ty holding my hand. I looked at Ty as he smiled. "I got you something."
I saw him taking out a velvet red box from his pocket and opening it. I gasped as I looked what was in it.
The box contained a platinum silver locket that had a small heart palate which was decorated with pieced of diamonds.
It was beautiful.
"Ty, this is . . ." I couldn't say the words. Ty made me feel like I was the only girl in his eyes.
Slowly, he took the necklace and put it around my neck. My fingers ran on the locket as I flipped it over to see the carving writing:
Mine Forever
I chuckled. "Aggressive much?"
Ty laughed as he press a kiss on my cheek. "I don't you to be only mine, Jess," he whispered as put his head on my neck. "I want to be the only man in your life."
I giggled. "Do I get to be the only woman in your life then?"
"No," he whispered.
I wa shocked. I pulled away from the hug and looked at Ty confusingly.
"I want a daughter," he whispered, caressing my cheeks. "Brave and daring, just like you."
My heart melted.
Darn! How did I get this lucky?
I could feel my eyes getting watery. I took Ty's hand and rested on my belly.
It was the perfect time to tell Ty.
Ty looked at me confusingly.
"Do you feel this Ty?" I ask as I rubbed his hand on my belly, feeling the little one move a little inside my belly.
Ty eyes filled surprised and shock. "Are you . . . ?"
"Yes," I whispered, letting the tear run down my eyes.
Within a few seconds, Ty lift me on his arms and spined me around and jumped as if he was the luckiest man.
"YOOOHUUUUUU!" Ty laughed he spined me around and jumped.
"Alhamdullillah!" He cried out as he jumped again eith me on his arms, making me laugh.
He put me down and wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned his head near my belly. His hands touched my belly.
"This is where you are hiding, aren't you, little one?" I heard Ty whispering.
I let more tears shed down my eyes as I saw him pressing a soft tender kiss on my belly.
"Daddy love you, baby girl," he kissed my belly again.
"How did you know it is a girl?" I chuckled as he got off and put his arms around my neck. "It could be a boy."
Ty laughed. "I have a feeling it is a girl. Boys usually a lot of tantrum in pregnency."
I laughed, whipping my tears.
"Hey," Ty laughed with me. "I jave seen my mom getting oregenent with girls. Girls are usually quiet compare to boys."
I laughed more. It was funny how he already was thinking so much about the baby.
"Jess, lets do something," Ty smiled as I look at him. "Unlike us, we will name our baby a Muslim name."
My heart raced. Yes, I wanted that. Having a Muslim name and hearing people calling you by it always showed our religious values.
Even though Ty and I had English names, we would name our baby a Muslim name.
"We will name her Omaira," Ty whispered, tangeling his fingers with mine.
"And if it a boy?"
"We will name him Omar," he whispered, leaning closer to my lips. "But, I feel like it is going to be a girl."
"You really want a girl, don't you?" I frowed.
If the baby is actually a girl then she would be daddy's princess.
"Do I sense a bit if jealously, Mrs. Mrs. Ishfaq?" Ty smirked.
I gasped.
"Don't worry, I only have eyes for you," Ty winked at me. "You are mine, Jess."
"I am not a property," I crossed my arms.
"Of course not," he said cupping my cheeks. "You are my priority," he whispered, making me look at him. "You are my sunshine. You are my world. You are my everything, Mrs. Jasmin Ishfaq."
I felt Ty's warmth breath. My body was cracing for his touch. His words make my heart flatter.
I wonder how can his such cheesy words can make me so weak and vulnerable. I wanted to be wrapped around his fingers.
"I love you, Ty," I said, looking in his eyes.
"I love you more, sweetheart," he whispered lressing a kiss on my lips.
