Jessica woke up and saw that she was lying on the bed, alone. She rubbed her eyes and looked for Maverick in the room.
She smiled thinking about last night. She saw a small note kept on the table.

She reached out to it and read that Maverick had left for New Jersey for some meeting. Jessica sighed and kept the paper on the table.
She got out of bed and went for a shower. Her legs were paining but she didn't care about the pain. She was feeling a bit dizzy yet she needed to do her job.
She stood in front of the mirror in the washroom and saw the marks. Those marks which she received last night from Mark...
She took a hot bath, and the moments she spent with Maverick last night, replayed in her mind.

Jessica (thinks): Why him? Of all the men in America, why do I have to fall in love with Maverick Williams...?

She also thought about her mission, Ryan, the agency, Maverick, and herself.

She could never tell anyone what was going on in her mind...

Jackson: Come to the agency ASAP

Jessica: But Boss... How can I go right now? I've to attend a meeting right now.

Jackson: I don't know about that. You need to come here. And that's final

Before Jessica could say anything else, Jackson hung up.

Jessica: What am I gonna do now?

She did attend the meeting for five minutes and excused herself, leaving the rest up to Peter.

It was already evening by the time she reached the agency. The Top 10 were present, except her, along with Jackson and one of the authority members.

Jessica entered the meeting room. Ryan looked at her, his face serious. Jessica sat on the empty seat between Dimitri and Pamela.

Jackson: How's your progress?

Jessica: Good, I guess

Dimitri: She's going to succeed, Boss. After all, it's AGENT 007

Jessica looked at him and Dimitri smirked. Jessica rolled her eyes and looked at Jackson.

Jackson: You're taking longer than I thought, Agent 007.

Jessica kept quiet.
Jackson: You've got a lot of blood on your hands, Agent 007.

Jessica: Boss, what's the condition of the politician, David Edward Robinson?

Jackson: That shouldn't be your concern

Jessica: I know it shouldn't be, but, he's a corrupted man. And how can the agency help a corrupted person?!

Authority man: Agent 007, you don't have to worry about whom we help. You should do your job well.

Jessica stood up and everyone had their attention on her.

Jackson: Agent 007! What are you trying to say?!

Jessica: You're not dumb, Boss. The agency is supposed to help common people and not help corrupt people. Since childhood, I've known that this agency works for people, helping them financially, and giving them a place to live. But all I see is that this agency helps those people who steal money from the common mass and do nothing for us. What kind of agency is this?! What's the difference between a gang and an agency then??

Jackson: Agent 007, that's enough!
Jackson had stood up as well.

Liam: What the fvck are you gonna do without the agency, Agent 007? Go and sleep on the streets...

Dimitri laughed mockingly.

Jackson: Except for Agent 001, everyone leave.

And without any question, all eight agents left the room. It was only Ryan, Jackson, Jessica, and the authority man in the room.

Jessica: Born Killers... You told me to destroy the gang. But I don't see them doing anything wrong. At least they think about the common mass, the downtrodden people, and not help those corrupted people like you do! And you ask me why I'm delaying my project... I'd rather sleep on the streets than work for you people. I'd rather work for Born Killers than work for you!

Authority man: Agent 007! Keep your fvcking mouth shut! Why do you care about the gang?! Are you fvcking in love with the Boss?!

Jessica: Well, that shouldn't be your concern, Sir.

She looked at Ryan and then at Jackson. She took out a card from her bag. She placed it on the desk between her and Jackson.

Jessica: I quit!

The three men looked at her with widened eyes.

Jackson: You cannot do that!

Jessica: I quit! And that's final!

She turned and started to walk away. At the exit, she was blocked by two guards.

Guard 1: You can't leave the agency, Agent 007. You need to meet Mr. Kim

Jessica: I'm not an agent anymore.

Guard 2: Don't force us.

Jessica punched him right in the face, knocking him down.

Jessica: Forgot how I knocked two bullies down during my training days?

She did knock the two guards down and before anyone could come and arrest her, she fled from there.

She'd follow her heart and stay with the person whom she loves.

Jackson: FVCK! How can she talk to me in that way?!

Ryan (under his breath): Good Luck, Jessica Kennedy. 

Soon the news of Agent 007 quitting was spread around the agency. Everyone was shocked. She's Jackson's favorite Agent and that made everyone shocked at the way she repaid him like that for some gangster.

*A few days later*

Jessica: Have you seen Rylan?

The four men were sitting in the living room and upon seeing Jessica, they stopped their discussion.

Daniel: No, why?

Jessica: He went out yesterday, but he didn't return till now. It's already midnight and his phone is switched off. Do any of you have any idea where he is?

The men looked at each other and then shook their heads.
Alex: I'll try and report to you

Jessica: Okay

* Two days later *

Jessica: What?! What do you mean by he's dead?!

Alex: Jane... Calm down!

Jessica: How the fvck can you say me to calm down? Do you have any idea what I'm going through..? Alex, tell me it's not true. You're lying, right? Rylan isn't dead.

Albus: Jane, Rylan was killed... We found his body in the woods. It's mutilated.

Jessica: Where is he?! I'm sure it's someone else...

The Top 5 and Jessica reached the woods where Ryan's body was found. His face was unrecognizable. Jessica knelt beside the body.

Jessica: How can you say that he's Rylan? His face isn't even—

She saw a shiny object near the hand of the dead body. She took it and found that it was the same ring which she'd given him on his birthday years ago.
It was indeed Ryan...

Alex: Jane...

Jessica: No... No way! He... Rylan... You can't leave me...

Albus and Alex tried to pull her up. Jessica's face turned pale, her eyes fixed on Ryan's dead body.

Jessica: RYLAN!!!

Jessica screamed and burst into tears. She was shocked. She couldn't believe that Ryan, her best buddy was dead.

She blamed herself for his death, thinking that the agency killed him because of her.

Indeed, she never loved him in that way, but she didn't want him dead. Moreover, she wanted Ryan to know about his family, about his brother.
Jessica cried a lot for almost a week.
Daniel was also gloomy. Deep down he felt a connection with Ryan.

* 2 years later *

Jessica had cut all ties with the agency, agents, and any people connected with DDIA.
She was happily living with the gang members. None of them knew about her past and she didn't want to remember it. Still, the death of Ryan bothered her.

With Maverick Williams and Jane Kline as the powerful duo of   Boss-UnderBoss, Born Killers has become more powerful and reached a position where no one could demolish them.

It was Maverick's birthday the next day and everyone was quite excited to celebrate his birthday. Jessica had planned a grand surprise for him. And she knew that he'd never forget her gift.

Jessica was restless since morning. This year's gift was going to be nothing compared to what she'd gifted to Maverick the previous years.

Albus: Hey! What are you planning for Mark?

Mia: I'll bake a cake. It's morning now. I'll start in the afternoon

Albus: Ohooo! You never made a cake for me though. But who cares, you're sweeter than any cake.

Jessica looked at Daniel and both of them were trying hard not to smile. Albus and Mia have made their relationship public.
On one hand where Jessica and Maverick are the badass couple, and Albus and Mia, on the other hand, are the sweet, lovey-dovey couple.

Daniel: What about you Al?

Albus: Oh it's nothing special. And what about you?

Daniel: Nothing

Jessica: Nothing?

Daniel: I've spoiled my brother a lot.

Mia: Hey gurl! What about you?

Jessica: It's a surprise for all of you. I'm sure Maverick will never forget the gift he'll receive

A tiny smirk appeared on her lips. Mia looked at Albus, the three of them thinking about what could Jessica gift Maverick that he wouldn't forget.

After a few minutes, Alex came back. And as usual, he was quiet and his face expressionless.

Jessica: I'll get going. See you later

The rest four bade her goodbye.

* At night *

Jessica and Maverick were in that mansion where they had so many memories. After Jessica had quit her job as an agent, she and Maverick had been living in the mansion. They often went to meet their buddies in the house.
Maverick was strolling in his room, looking at the night sky through the window. He came to know that Jessica would give him something special and he was curious to know.
Suddenly, there was a knock on his door. He looked at the door to find his fiancé standing.

Mark: Come in

Jessica: Nope. You come out. It's eleven o'clock already. I wanted to go out for a walk with you. Please

Jessica looked at him with puppy eyes, enough to make Maverick accept her request. No matter how dangerous a Mafia Boss is, his heart always melted to any requests from his love.

Mark: Fine

Jessica's face lit up and she ran to him giving him a tight hug. She took his gun out of his pocket.

Jessica: You're gonna take the gun with you?

Mark: Yeah
He took the gun away from her and placed it in his pocket.

Jessica: I wanted to go for a walk as a normal couple. Not like Boss and UnderBoss.

Mark: Love, I'm taking the gun for our safety. There are enemies everywhere. You understand, right?

Jessica nodded and smiled.
Jessica: Let's go!

They're in casual outfits. It was just a night stroll. They were talking about the old days, when they'd met in the restaurant, and how many days have passed since then.

They're on a bridge when suddenly Jessica stopped. It was one minute to midnight. She turned to Maverick and looked into his eyes.

Jessica: Look at the night sky. Does it make you remember anything?

Mark: City lights and Starry Sky.

Jessica: Just like our Love

Mark: Yeah, no number can express how much we love each other.

Jessica leaned closer and planted a soft kiss on Maverick's lips.
Jessica: Happy Birthday Love.

Suddenly, Maverick's phone started to buzz. He received the call.

Albus: Mark! Mia... She's nowhere!

Mark: What?!

Alex: Yeah, I've tried to track her down but she's nowhere. We have no idea where she is! Can you please come back?

Before Maverick could say anything, the sound of helicopters, sirens, and cars could be heard. Jessica took Maverick's phone. She could hear Albus and Alex talking. She hung up the call and switched the phone off.

Jessica: Babe, won't you wait for my gift?

Mark: Mia's missing

Jessica smirked. They're surrounded by police, agents, helicopters, and cars.

???: Maverick Williams! Don't move!

Maverick looked at Jessica who had a tiny smirk on her lips.

Mark: What's this?! Didn't you quit? Agent 007?! Or should I say ex-agent?!

Jessica: Agent? What do you mean, Mark?

Maverick pulled out his gun and pointed it at Jessica.

Jessica: You're gonna shoot me? Fine, pull the trigger.

Jessica knew Maverick couldn't do that.
Maverick: I know your identity, Jessica Kennedy. I had come to know about your true identity a long time ago. And I know who Rylan is. He's Ryan Scott, Agent 001.

Jessica (thinks): How does Mark know about Ryan's and my identities?

Jessica was shocked but she didn't let Maverick know that. She acted cool in front of him.

Mark: Thank God that the dog is dead...

Jessica: SHOOT ME!

??: Maverick Williams, don't you dare pull the trigger. We're gonna shoot you!

One of the authority men screamed at him while pointing his gun at him. Nearly all of the agents available there had their guns pointed at the Boss of Born Killers.

Maverick closed his eyes.

Mark(whispers): I'm sorry 

He pulled the trigger but nothing happened. Jessica tilted her head and took out a small bag from her pocket.

Jessica: Here are the bullets...

And before Maverick could snatch the bag away from her hand, Jessica threw it into the river and a gunshot was heard. One of the authority men shot the gun out of Maverick's hand.
He was helpless and Jessica looked at him with that same smirk. Jessica kicked him on his knee and he fell to his knees in front of her. He looked at Jessica's feet. She run her index finger through his jawline and stopped at his chin. She lifted his face.

Jessica: Your reign will fall, Maverick Williams.

Maverick was handcuffed. He looked at Jessica helplessly. Jessica turned around and started to walk away. Her smirk disappeared and she wore a stone-cold expression. She didn't want anyone to know that by doing this, she hurt herself the most.

In the end, she did love Maverick...

A car stopped near the place where they were standing. A man came out of the car and Maverick was shocked to see him.

It was Ryan...
Ryan wasn't dead and Jessica did know about this.
As soon as Jessica reached the car, the rain started. Ryan wrapped a spare jacket around Jessica's shoulders. He looked at Maverick who was looking at Jessica while he was being taken by the authority men.
