it all ends.

boom.

I pulled the pin and shoved the grenade into his million dollar jacket, pacing to the other side of the unnecessarily large tent. I couldn't survive without injuries, that'd be so suspicious. I had to get injured, just not dead injured.

"HELP! There's been an attack!" I screamed, head sort of spinning at the happening. People rushed in amidst the smoke, searching for their leader but all they found were his remains; ashes.

Medics rushed over to me, treating my minor wounds, "who did this?" They sternly asked me, "I don't know," I cried, pushing my acting skills to their maximum level. "A grenade was thrown in, I didn't see a face, but they were fast, and swift. Probably far away by now," I informed them. The South Korean security squad that assisted me here helped me out, as the entire country echoed with silence.

Mourning on the outside.

Celebrating within.

-

"What do you think about the assassination?! You were there, what happened!?" Reporters blasted me with questions as soon as I landed back in South Korea. The world was in chaos, not only had the blue house exploded, one of the worst men in current times was dead. "It's a happening hard to talk about, but all I can say is... Death is an unavoidable fate. We're all destined to die. Some sooner than others, some going to places far hotter, than others. But in the end, we all get what we deserve,"

I ended my speech and walked off, taking the car back home. The wounds were so minor I didn't even feel injured, the grenade was made to murder, not a few but one, it's blast wasn't that large. When I entered the house I met with a Jungkook who wouldn't stop walking up and down the house in worry.

"Ah thank god you're ok."

He hugged me ever so tightly, "how are you... Ok?" He released from the hug with a questionable expression. "I don't die remember," I shrugged with a mischievous smile. "You're actually out of your mind," he chuckled, massaging his temples in realisation.

"Well, since you're back so early, I think we should pull back tomorrows event, make it today," he put his hands on my shoulders, confusing me. "What was tomorrows event?" I raised an eyebrow, "our engagement ceremony of course," he smiled.

"I know you don't like big celebrations so I kept it in our mansion, this place is big enough to fit our friends, you know since we, don't have many," he awkwardly admitted. "Your dress is waiting for you in your room my love, and I'll be waiting for you tonight," he gently placed his lips on my hand before I went up the stairs, plopping onto my bed.

I'm getting married.

I'M GETTING MARRIED.

••••••••••

"Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you all for being here on this special night. You all must be familiar with the fact that me and my lover are quite the polar opposites, we refrain from killing each other everyday, so you know, just acting like a married couple without marriage," Jungkook was making a speech as I prepared myself to walk down the steps. Everything was happening so quickly, I was holding myself back from a panic attack really.

"Tonight I'm putting the ring on the one I treasure, an action to call her mine always and forever," he said, the lights moving to the top of the stairwell. Oo, that's my cue.

I stumbled slightly before standing underneath the light, gently smiling down at Jungkook who was ready to get me. I took small steps down, don't fall, you can't fall.

I repeated to myself, more scared of humiliating myself than marrying, weird. Jungkook extended his hand for me to receive, "you've gotten better at walking in heels," he whispered. "Right?!" I accidentally spoke loudly making the crowd let out small chuckles, "oops,"

I internally face-palmed as Jungkook handed me the mic. "What do I say?" I panicked, "anything romantic," he patted me on the back. "Ehem," I cleared my throat, fidgeting with my dress with my other hand. "God I'm nervous, I've never done this before," I released quick breaths. "Speaking in front of people?" Hoseok asked loudly, "no I meant getting engaged, this is terrifying," I said making everyone laugh. At least my panicked state is having some sort of benefit.

"We were trying to kill each other not long ago, we have twisted fates that we can't help but accept for the sake of love. In the name of love. Today I think back to the day that I first met him. I was in a rush to find Euphoria, and in this rushed state I bumped into him. We exchanged rude remarks, until I realised he was the one I was searching for," I began.

"Once forced to love him, and now I cannot think of life without him. It's a weird life, but so so beautiful. He was someone I searched for in order to get some quick money, and now? He's become someone I would give millions just to get a glance of," I smiled to myself.

"This event binds us together, in hopes of being with each other, always and forever,"

I finished, as everyone started clapping. Now the after party began, I was having a chat with Baekhyun who had finally been able to return. "I go for what, 2 months? And you're getting married?" He spoke, clinking glasses with me. "Expect the unexpected," I shrugged, cracking a sheepish smile.

"Adding onto this special occasion, I found a heart donor," Baek smiled, making my eyes shoot open in surprise. I'd completely forgotten that I was you know, dying, my meds had kept my state normal and Jaechan had given me a drug called narcotic analgesics. He didn't want my heart problem to became an obstacle for his goals with me so he gave me a drug that would mask my pain, it's effect lasted long but resulted in a worsen health. With a life as chaotic as mine it wasn't hard to forget about it.

"What? That's amazing," I burst into a happy state, happier than I already was. This was how I knew I was in love.

When I wanted to live, just for him.

I excused myself to go talk to the boys who were the most shocked by our decision of marriage. "I mean yeah we might kill each other everyday, but that's the fun," I laughed, and everyone did except Taehyung. "Hey are you ok? You've been acting weird lately and I just-"

"Wanted to see if you were ok..." I was cut off by him literally just walking off in the middle of me talking. I watched him leave in confusion, had I done something wrong?

I decided to approach him one more time, since he was someone who tolerated my bad moods and made sure to cheer me up. "So, when are you getting married old man?" I teased him, but he just remained expressionless. "Big day today, I killed the man who haunted my childhood," I told him. We would exchange our youth stories about how we'd spent our early lives, he knew how disgustingly I'd been treated in the north so I expected a joyful reaction, or some reaction at all.

But nothing. "I'll stop bothering you," I faked a smile as I patted his back and left. "Hey hey, what's with the long face?" Jungkook asked, but he knew what had happened. He was watching his brothers unusual behaviour and had started to get annoyed by it. "I just, don't understand what's wrong with him, he's acting how he did when we first met," I sighed, "but it's fine, whatever," I told Jungkook. "No it's not fine," he left me and walked off to Tae angrily, dragging him to a seperate room.

3rd person pov.

"What is wrong with you?" Jungkook lashed out, "nothing." Taehyung shortly replied, holding in his words.

"She's finally okay, she killed Jaechan who was the root of Shadow, they're finally gone, me and her finally sorted out our problems and we're literally getting engaged. So what is with your mood? You're her best friend, and even if something's happened the least you could do is pretend to be happy for her sake," Jungkook lectured making Taehyung release a scoff.

"So what, you want me to go talk to her? What would you like me to say?" Taehyung asked sarcastically, "anything," Jungkook shrugged.

"Right, so do you want me to go to her right now, in the middle of YOUR engagement ceremony, take that mic and confess to her how much I love her?" Taehyung tilted his head. Jungkook froze, his entire body stiff.

"You what?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"I've had feelings for her the day she brought us to the CIS, the day she changed my life for the better since no one else could do so. I kept quiet and watched you two love, and I'm sorry to say this brother but I was the happiest when the pair of you took a break. But here I am at your engagement, masking my true feelings with hatred because I can't believe how bad my luck was that I didn't meet her first." Taehyung released a breath, plopping down onto the couch behind him.

"Congratulations brother," Taehyung raised an imaginary glass tiredly.

"Why didn't you say so?" Jungkook asked softly, he didn't know what to say, "because what would that change? You can stop being with her for me but she will never stop loving you, which is the same as you being with her. Keep her happy, don't be so much as a fool to let her go," Taehyung got up, embracing his younger with a tight pat on the back.

"Let's go celebrate," Taehyung faked a smile as it was all he could do in this awkward situation. They both headed back into the crowd with neutral moods, when there's a happening you can't control, you accept it, as it is your only choice.

Jungkook took Byeol out the house, away from the crowds and into the city, far far away from anyone. He took her into the mountains, a place he'd play at with his mum when he was little. He never went there again as it would make him feel empty, but today of all days, when he was marrying the love of his life, he felt he should feel the presence of his mum too.

He had thought it was inappropriate, after all there was no forgetting Byeol had killed his mum. But he knew his mother well, she was a fighter. She accepted her fate with the knowingness that Byeol didn't have a choice, so he accepted this twisted fate with the choice of marrying Byeol.

They stood dangerously near the edge of the mountain, watching the beautiful view with a evening summer breeze. It was an ethereal feeling they both wished was everlasting.

"Promise me this is forever," Byeol breathed out, speaking slightly loudly as the winds were screaming.

"I promise."

couple months later

Byeol visited Jungkook's mother's grave daily, she was buried in the same graveyard as her parents. She'd been in quarantine with Jungkook like the president said so, their house was protected with the finest agents just in case people tried to come and use Byeol again.

And today? Today was the day Byeol was discharged from the hospital, Baekhyun had done the operation of the heart transplant himself as he trusted no one else to do the job.

"Happy birthday baby," Jungkook snaked his arms around her waist in the morning. "There's somewhere we need to go," he said, quickly pulling her out to their car, driving off without telling her where.

"We're at the place that ruined my life, fun," she sarcastically spoke as they entered the CIS building. Yes she still worked there, but she wanted to be anywhere else on her birthday. They walked into the experimentation room where they greeted Taehyung, the atmosphere was awkward as expected. Byeol was still not aware of her best friends feelings and Taehyung couldn't speak of them in respect of his brothers marriage.

"Ever since the day you told me about what was done to you, I looked for a cure. If they used your worst memory to shut down your brain, then why don't we access your best memory to reverse the effect?" Taehyung talked her through it.

"Well there's not many to choose from, uh gosh," Byeol failed to think of her happiest memory. "Hugging my parents for the first time since I was a child, that should work. If the other memory was linked to my childhood then there should be some sort of connection with the happy one." She spoke, both the boys nodded helping her onto the chair where she was strapped down.

"I'm going to do exactly the process done before, hypnotise you into a state where you'll only respond to my voice, and then I'll make you remember that memory again and again, while I electrocute you. The voltage is higher than they used because we're attempting a reverse effect," Taehyung quickly explained.

"This is safe right?" Byeol asked very last minute, but the boys exchanged a unsure glance making her internally panic. "Take deep breaths, you're feeling sleepy," Taehyung's deep voice uttered in her ear, pressing down on the pulse in her wrist to calm down her nerves. "When you hear a snap, you will be responsive to my voice only," he finished with a snap.

He gestured Jungkook to turn on the voltage, immediately sending Byeol into screams, "do you see your parents?" He asked, she nodded unwillingly, still not being able to tolerate the pain. "Go hug them, tightly," he ordered her, she smiled through the agony, tears dripping out her shut eyes.

"Turn the voltage up," Taehyung whispered to Jungkook making his eyebrows furrow, "that's dangerous," he replied, frustrating Taehyung. He walked over there himself, turning the voltage up. Byeol instantly reacted, her head thrown back in the fire building up inside her, as she screamed the veins in her neck were so visible, the pain was excruciating. This continued for the next couple hours, what a birthday.

"At my snap, you'll awake," Taehyung tiredly spoke, it'd been a long few hours. As he snapped, Byeol collapsed in her chair, her entire body was drained of energy.

"Void."

"Stop," she breathlessly told him.

"Seven. Border. Orphan. Weapon. Eleven. J." Taehyung finished reading out the words with a pit of uncertainty building in his stomach, would it have really worked? "Hera?" He called out, but Byeol remained the same, she burst into tears as Jungkook freed her from the straps.

"You're free," they told her, she hadn't felt freedom well, ever. In the north she was a slave, here she was nothing but a toy, and now? She was just Kim Byeol. And that's all she ever wanted.

They helped her stand, legs slightly wobbly because of everything, the realisation that she wouldn't have to live in fear of hurting others hadn't completely settled in yet. As Byeol and Jungkook hugged, Taehyung could only avoid the sight. "Thank you," Byeol muttered.

"No worries," he said as they walked out, he didn't go with them of course, he couldn't.

"Let's go home and celebrate," Jungkook put his arm around her as they walked towards the car. "And how do you suppose we do that?" She raised an eyebrow, dirty thoughts filling both their heads. As they sat in the car Jungkook released a sigh.

"We can't sit amazingly happy though darling, we both have a long list of enemies, all that wish to take us down especially you," he stated a fact. "They can only wish," she replied, "you were the one who told me wishes come true."

"Well, then I will rise from the ashes of the fire they set to burn me."

"Like a phoenix," they both spoke in unison, smiling. It was winter and the sun had set faster than usual, they opened the roof of the car after driving into the same mountain. They pushed their seats back and admired the night sky. "There's no stars," Byeol realised, squinting to see if it was just her bad eyesight.

"It's like what your parents said, maybe you fulfilled the wishes of many," Jungkook told her, making her smile, a sight he'd pay millions to look at.

"The moon's beautiful isn't it?" She admired the moon while his eyes hadn't left her, he still couldn't believe she was his. What good deed had he fulfilled in his past life that he had been given a woman like her?

"Oh baby,"

"The moon has always been beautiful."
