-book 1 final-
"Oh, and I couldn't possibly be left out with the heroic countdown you boys were doing, there's still one place left to blow up, isn't there?" She raised an eyebrow, tapping her feet on the ground beneath us. "I still don't understand how you're alive I mean," he reached his arm out to poke her to see if she was actually there. "Yeah, honestly, I don't get it either because what the fuck right," she engaged in his conversation before looking into his eyes.
"8."
Taeyong shut his eyes in fear, preparing for his death but, nothing. Silence. He reopened his eyes, snickering as loud as he could, laughing in Byeol's face while she kept the same smirk as her expression.
"Goodbye," she whispered, shooting him in the leg.
"I'd shoot you straight in the head but I figured it'd be more fun to see you to suffer, slowly." She spoke, watching him fall onto the floor. I noticed from the corner of my eyes that Taeyong was reaching for the injection he had dropped earlier as his last attempt at trying to do something.
"Oh shit," I muttered seeing him inject it into Byeol's leg, she winced in pain as she held onto the wall nearby. I kicked Taeyong out the way as my brother's took care of him and his crew.
"I think I'm dying again," Byeol slurred her words making me chuckle holding her to stand up straight.
"It's just a drug that's gonna make you say the truth all the time. You're fine," I told her, she hit my arm hard, it's like the drug was making her act more drunk that actually talk the truth.
"HEY JUNGLEBOOK. How many drugs are people going to give me? If I become a drug addict, are you going to take responsibility?" She furrowed her eyebrows, I laughed but realised that we had to leave, like now, before the entire army of his men arrived. I pulled her arm while taking the gun off of her and running out the big place.
Turns out we really were far from home, the place we were at was Mr Lee's old territory, it was huge, on fire thanks to us, but huge.
"How is this fair? I'm supposed to be saving you," Byeol complained. I turned her around into my embrace to shoot Taeyong's men who had finally realised what was happening.
"Do you find me sexy?" She asked out of the blue. "Extremely," I replied without a thought, looking around to see if the coast was clear for us to run to the cars. Shots were fired at us from high ground, Byeol flinched and sat on the ground crossing her legs.
"Life's just so much effort, you know?" She sighed.
"WOMAN, THEY ARE SHOOTING," I shouted at her, quickly pulling her up. I aimed for the person up there, quickly putting them down. I got onto a motorbike as she hugged me tight from the back, from the side mirror I could already see more of his men follow us with cars.
"LIAR. If you found me sexy then you would've wanted to do it with me," she rested her head on my back while I sped up the bike.
"It? What do you me- oh my god," I mentally face-palmed listening to her words. Bullets began to be fired at us from those cars that just wouldn't give up on chasing after us. I pulled Byeol from behind me and sat her on my lap to face me.
Byeol POV
"Open my zip," he ordered me, "here? Gosh I didn't know you were into that stuff," I listened to him with a mischievous expression.
"Now hug me," he told me, I smiled widely and hugged him tight, god all I could feel was his muscles.
"Did you find the guns on my back?" He asked. Guns? I looked around to feel something that felt exactly like guns. I hummed in response and pulled them out.
"Now Miss Kim, shoot," he whispered.
I shot the wheel of the car in front, making it's direction go haywire. The car behind it crashed into it making it blow up, the rest of the boys caught up behind us with a van.
Time skip - next day
I woke up with my head hurting like crazy, it was like the the type of hangover you get from drinking but like 100x worse. I opened my eyes to see Jungkook sleeping soundly beside me, his eyes still looked swollen. The amount he must've cried, I'm sorry. I caressed his cheek slowly, admiring him.
"Today's a big day," I thought to myself. I got up and took a warm shower, changing out of my pyjamas.
I walked inside a familiar building, heading there without a mask, without a hat, without a stuffed bodysuit for the first time in my life. I was really wondering if my idea was even going to work as easy as I wanted it to, but either way the CIS is a mess so they'll listen, hopefully.
"Where are you going missy?" The guard at the entrance asked.
"I thought I was wanted here after what I did, seems I'm not as famous as I thought," I let out a low chuckle as the man continued to look at me with a confused face.
"Ah, right," I took out a handkerchief from my bag and covered my face to only show my eyes. He immediately bowed and apologised for not recognising me. I chuckled walking to the main office, the CIS really don't know how to spread the word to everyone.
"I TRACKED HER, SHE'S RIGHT... here?"
I knocked twice on the table, leaning against the door frame. Everyone turned around and pulled out their guns pointing them at me.
"Mr Choi taught you kids how to shoot but didn't teach you manners? I'm your senior, bow," I ordered, still relaxed as ever. They kept their composure, guns still pointed at my from all directions.
"Well, this is sad, no one recognises me unless I cover up, ironic," I rolled my eyes, using the same handkerchief to cover up again.
"AGENT 001? But then that mean you killed Mr Choi, and that means you ran away with a mafia? Are we supposed to shoot you, bow, or run away?" They widened their eyes, so many questions running around in their minds.
"Just stay calm. As you know, I'm the best agent you have, won't be smart of you guys to be trying anything," I told them.
"I realised that the chairman of such a big company should not only have a smart mind, but also physical ability. He unfortunately only had one of those skills, thought getting rid of him would help you guys out," I began.
"Help us out? Can't you see the mess we're in without someone to lead us? We don't even know what missions go to who, who's supposed to do what," one of the girls spoke with attitude. I slowly walked up to her, looking at her badge.
"Agent 31? That high of a rank but you can't even sort out your own shit? So while I worked undercover all those years Mr Choi babied you guys?" I tutted, shaking my head.
"Well, that's going to change from today. I've prepared a new team to lead everyone, and of course, a new chairman too." I started, they all waited for me to continue, they looked so desperate. I was only a teen when I saw the uglier side of the world, these people shouldn't go through the same.
"Who is it?" They got impatient.
"There's someone. Might not seem like it but he has the brains, might not act like it but he could take down everyone here, excluding me of course. And not to forget to mention that he has the looks," I chuckled.
"That's not fair, maybe you are the best agent, but this company doesn't only include you, our opinions matter too, you can't just appoint a new chairman out of no where." A voice midst the crowd spoke.
"What type of person do you take me for? You're absolutely right, your opinions do matter. That's why I bought him here with me. JK," I called out.
"I'm Eu- Jeon Jungkook. I look forward to working with you guys." He said, bowing his head slightly. I had the thought of doing this for a while, I knew his mum wanted him to work for the CIS, this was the perfect opportunity for JK.
"A mafia? Being the chairman of a law based organisation? Is this a joke?" They gossiped.
"Anyone have a problem with this decision?" I raised my eyebrows. One hand went up in the crowd as I walked towards it, I raised my hand fast making the girl flinch.
"The door is that way," I gestured, nicely telling her to get out, she grabbed her things angrily and left the room.
"I have your first task for today. I need everyone to look into a case from 8 years ago, where a woman was murdered, our new chairman's mother." I looked at him, watching his surprised expression as I simply smiled.
"I'm gonna make sure your mum's soul gets to rest in peace. We'll catch that motherfucker together."
I put my arm in his, walking towards the exit, I looked over my shoulder and glanced at the girls and even some boys drooling over JK.
"Message to all the females and gays in here."
"This man, is my man."
1 year later
"DO IT HARDER," I yelled in frustration.
"I'M TRYING," he responded with the same loud ass volume.
"I'm getting tired, we've been doing this all day and my legs are starting to give out," I spoke breathlessly.
"DON'T YOU STOP NOW, just a little longer," he pleaded, falling beside me on the floor in tire after we finished.
"We should do this shit more often, you know, normal couple things," he panted heavily.
"Trying to fix a broken vent all fucking day is not normal couple things. We have the money, why didn't we just call a repairman?" I asked.
"Because what if the repairman is an undercover mafia getting ready to kill us or something?" He replied, making me sigh. "The life of agents," I groaned, ready to fall asleep even on the ground any second now. Jungkook jumped on top of me, placing kisses all over my body which tickled me. "STOP, I'm tired," I chuckled, trying to push him off.
"Let me cure this tiredness then," he bent down to my ear, making sure his deep voice sent shivers down my spine before he kissed my neck.
"You know, this makes me recall something you used to say," I spoke amidst the heat of the moment, making him sit up straight with lust still resting deep in his orbs. "And what is that?" He raised an eyebrow, standing up with me.
"You used to say what, love is a lie, love is foul, love is-"
"A fairytale?" He cut me off, remembering his own words as he moved closer to me. "Yeah, and now look at you," I smiled.
"Well I still think love is a fantasy, but this time I'm willing to indulge myself in this imagination of true love, with you." He ran his finger down my cheek, making my breath hitch in expectation. "I want to participate wholeheartedly in this lie, in pursuit of your elusive affections," he'd finally managed to corner me against the wall.
"Can I? Would you be so kind, as to let me indulge myself in your body?" He pressed himself against me, taking off his own shirt as he threw it to the side carelessly, breathing hard on my neck because he knew it intoxicated me.
"I don't know, how long are we talking?" I tilted my head, trying to keep my composure although my legs were close to melting.
"No period of time could ever amount to the length I would like to spend with you," he uttered, unbuttoning my shirt at a painfully slow pace.
❝But let's start with forever.❞
