What does that even mean? Missing?
How does a dead body just disappear from a morgue? It's not like it has the ability to just get up and walk away. But who on earth would take it?
"Are you fucking useless? You couldn't even save her which is one thing, but now you're trying to tell me you lost her body?" I raised my eyebrows, feeling fired up. The doctor went to go lock the door before ruffling his hair slightly.
"I guess it's time for a real explanation."
Dr Byun (Baekhyun) POV - flashback
Kim Byeol? My patient? I guess a lot has changed since I left the CIS, she was untouchable, we'd get surprised if she had even a paper cut but now I was getting as many paper towels as I could to prevent her from bleeding out to death. How had our strongest agent gotten herself into a state like this?
As I prepared for the operation, someone's weak hand gripped onto my blazer. "Even if I survive, t-tell those boys outside, that I didn't," she used up all of her energy to plead me, passing out just moments after. While operating none of us thought she had a chance of surviving, she already had a previous gunshot wound and the new one was right near it. Probably one of the most risky operations I've ever worked on. Taking out the bullet was dangerous, lucky for her it has just barely missed her heart, but for us that meant a slight inconvenience during the operation would kill her.
Lucky for her, I was skilled. The CIS chooses which agent to push in a certain category, so the organisation would have people that excelled in everything. For me that was medicine. After certain, things, happened in the CIS I made the decision to leave, I blew up any sort of contract that tied me to them and threatened to spill their darkness to the government.
After pulling out the bullet with precision, we were trying to stitch everything back together, but suddenly her blood pressure started dropping.
"She's going into cardiac arrest!" I screamed, applying compression to try get her heartbeat back.
"ROSC," I wiped off my sweat and held onto a nurse for support, losing energy.
*ROSC: Return Of Spontaneous Circulation.(medical term for return of heartbeat.)*
I walked out, proud of successfully completing such a difficult mission, yet having to fake a guilty expression, remembering what she wanted me to do.
"Time of death, 7:13pm KST 6th May."
The nurses beside me looked confused at what I said but I gestured them to stay quiet. The hospital echoed with the screams of those boys, they were broken. I had told them that the body needed to stay in the morgue, and shouldn't be seen just yet. Because how could I tell them she was still alive?
6 days later
I personally checked her condition hourly, not only was my curiosity was killing me, those boys wanted to hold a funeral for her and I couldn't keep lying forever.
"Where am I?" I heard a faint voice speak, I turned and saw her eyes open.
"The hospital, you survived, somehow you always do," I smiled. She tried to get up as soon as she remembered everything but the pain wouldn't let her.
"You had an operation a major couple days ago, stupid much?" I raised my eyebrows, helping her sit up.
"I'm a patient here Byun, rude much?" She replied, trying to smile was even hard because of how weak her condition is.
"Nice to know you remember me," I chuckled, getting up to fix one of the pipes sending her oxygen. When I worked in the CIS we weren't exactly close, but we could be considered mutual friends, considering all we went through.
"When you quit, you didn't give anyone a reason, why'd you leave out of the blue?" She questioned.
"Because I woke up. I realised that we were always on the wrong side of things, instead of actually working for the law we were turned into disgusting people. But seems like you woke up too, heard you killed the chairman?" I chuckled.
"Yep, but I don't know if leaving the CIS is the smartest thing to do right now," she sighed.
"It is. Byeol you may be alive but that injury means you might not be able to do anything active without being in endless pain." I told her, she closed her eyes thinking deeply. "But what about those agents still there? They're innocent souls and now that the root of evil is gone, I can help start them anew. They won't have to go through what we did," she spoke.
What we went through... Our past. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
"What did you say to the boys that were outside?" She asked, changing the topic.
"That you were dead, just like you asked me to, you wanna explain why you wanted me to lie? Those boys cried their eyes out after what I said, do you even know how bad I felt?" I replied.
"If they knew I survived then they would've stayed here and waited till I regained consciousness. The CIS wouldn't take long to track them here and they would be killed on the spot. It's not like I'm going to lie forever. Just, there's a special someone I need to deal with before." Her expression dropped just thinking about that person as she tried to get up.
"Not in that condition you aren't," I stopped her, standing tall to act as an obstacle. She sat back down with a glare and ordered me to go get her food, I laughed and went, thinking how she hadn't changed the slightest. When I returned she was gone, how did I fall for the oldest trick in the book? Her hospital gown was neatly folded on the chair, as the bloody clothes she entered with were gone.
I sighed and dialled the number of those boys, calling them to come.
-end of flashback- Jungkook POV
Dr Byun finished explaining everything as we all took sighs of relief. I was angry it took him that long to explain, but he told us he couldn't say anything until Byeol woke up. We left the hospital with, better moods?
"You guys go in first, I want some alone time," I told them walking away from the van that they were all sitting in, and going through an alleyway for the shortcut to the park. Suddenly a cloth was forcefully put around my mouth, and it obviously had some sort of drug in it to make me unconscious because the next thing I knew I had passed out.
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar place, making me have the reflex to try and get up. Only problem was, my hands were chained as if I was some sort of beast.
"Relax JK, I'm not going to kill you, yet." Someone cackled from being me, making me roll me eyes, recognising the voice, my vision cleared as I was finally able to see Taeyong with his little crew of guards.
"Don't even try mention my dad, because where I've been hiding is somewhere far away from where we live. Take a guess?" Taeyong said mischievously, I looked at him uninterested.
"I'm just trying to have some fun before you leave. You know, the world," he laughed.
"If you don't shut up I swear I'm going to rip out your vocal cords," I spat out, glaring at him. One of his guards standing behind me hit me in the head.
"Not chained up like that you won't," he chuckled again, his happiness hurt my head so bad, how dare he be happy? Someone walked in with a briefcase, opening it to reveal an injection.
"The code to my dad's weapon vault, you know it don't you?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Even if I do I'm not gonna tell you."
"I know you won't that's why I've prepared a truth serum. You won't have a choice," he chuckled walking closer with the injection in hand. "Don't touch me Yong, it won't end well for you," I warned him.
"Aw, is your girlfriend going to come save you? Too bad I killed her, hope her soul can come from hell," he spoke sarcastically.
"Aw, you think you're really strong don't you?" I scrunched my nose sarcastically, "but do you know a power stronger than a humiliating man?" I tilted my head, gripping onto his collar when he got close enough.
"Go on," he replied unenthusiastically.
"A vengeful woman," I spat.
"And who would that be exactly?" He furrowed his eyebrows, "I guess we'll have to find out won't we," I held in my smirk, resting back. "You're not supposed to be so calm right now, what are you hiding from me?" Taeyong questioned, anxiety filling him.
"Think about it, Yong, do you really think, an amateur like yourself, would be able to abduct me? ME? Are you out of your mind?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "What bullshit are you talking?" He naturally took a step back in shock.
"You underestimating me really just makes things so much more entertaining. We needed to find you, you'd been hidden and off the radar for an entire week, and the only way to catch you, was by you bringing me here yourself, and you actually did it you fucking idiot," now I was laughing, I couldn't get over his stupidity.
"Anyways, let's start the countdown to fun, shall we?"
"1."
*BOOM*
"2," Namjoon entered from one of the doors, shooting down the men in front of him. Taeyong ordered everyone to go and check what on earth was going on.
*BOOM*
"3," Jin walked in, leaning against the wall with a smug look.
*BOOM*
"4," Yoongi entered from behind, releasing me from the chains.
*BOOM*
"5," Hoseok had his hands in his pocket, the most relaxed man.
*BOOM*
"6,"
*BOOM*
"7,"
*BOOM*
Taehyung and Jimin jumped down from the ceiling together, snapping the necks of the men in front of them. Taeyong was scared out of his wits, unable to react in any sort of way. Right then, as he thought things couldn't get any worse, his nightmare appeared, dressed like a daydream.
The main door was kicked down, revealing a figure. "But- I SHOT YOU, I watched life leave your eyes," he uttered in disbelief. "Well, who did you think the vengeful woman was? Jimin?" She furrowed her eyebrows at his stupidity.
"Anyways now that I'm here,"
"Let the party begin."
