I'm making fan art of Skybrine, WitherMU, and Enderlox :3, it'll be done soon, so I'll put it in chapter 39.5 ^_^

Warnings: Blood, violence, Mitch almost dies

~3rd P.O.V.~

     This fight takes place at the beginning of the challenge

     Both teams split up, going to face the other team 1 on 1. Jerome dashes straight at Skybrine, brandishing his axe high above his head, hollering a battle cry. Skybrine advances a few steps, before holding his ground, holding both hands out in front of him as hot yellow flames appear at his palms. Enderlox swoops and propels himself forward, teeth bared and eyes flashing as he speeds towards Mitch, flames held in his claws just like Skybrine's, but purple like Dragons breath. Mitch notches three arrows at once into his bow, pulling back and waiting for Enderlox to draw nearer. WitherMU and Vikk charge each other head on, the ground between them diminishing rapidly. Vikk hurls three throwing stars, but the little space bat things fluttering after WitherMU fly in the way, taking the hit. Three more bats respawn in their place. The new bats swoop and dove at the ground in Vikk's path, knocking away snow, and Vikk dances away from the holes, pulling out a dagger and cutting down the bats quickly. Once again, three new ones appear at WitherMU's side.

     As Enderlox comes within thirty blocks of Mitch, he lets the three arrows notched in his bow fly, whizzing away with a soft twang. Enderlox swerves under and around the first two, intercepting the third with a ball of purple flame, causing it to burn up before it reaches him. Enderlox's wings beat powerfully down, propelling himself gracefully forward as he soars through the air, his thick black tail lined with spikes trailing behind him. Enderlox's eyes flash, and more balls of fire appear in his claw like hands, shooting rapidly at the ground around Mitch. Mitch dances around the newly formed holes with ease, his eyes never leaving Enderlox for a second as he continues to swoop foreword, now only ten blocks away. And at last Enderlox finally reaches him, and the real battle finally begins.

Mitch quickly slings his bow across his shoulder, pulling out his diamond sword just in time to block a bash from Enderlox's tail. In a flash, Mitch lashes out and grabs a hold of Enderlox's tail, fingering digging into the scaly black skin in an iron grip. Putting all his weight behind it, Mitch drags the tail over his shoulder, throwing Enderlox off balance and brining him to the ground with a crash, limbs and wings flailing. Mitch wastes no time in leaping onto Enderlox, pinning his wings beneath him with his knees, and moving to deliver a few punches to his face, hoping to put him in a daze if no knock him out. Although Enderlox's massive wings and tail add an impressive amount to his size, with Mitch restraining their movement, Enderlox is still quite a bit smaller than Mitch.

With a crack, Mitch's fist collides neatly with the side of Enderlox's jaw, and quickly follows up with a a palm-strike to the nose. Enderlox snarls in pain and fury, blood soon dripping down his nose and lip as he turns his head, and spits out the metallic tasting blood from his mouth. A small, bloodied sharp fang passes his lips as well. The crowd voices its displeasure, seeing how easily Mitch is besting Enderlox. But then suddenly, a cry is echoing out, and drawings Mitch's attention away. Mitch whips his head around to see the source of the cry, just in time to see Jerome tumbling through the layer of snow, Skybrine falling quickly after him with a look of shock. When Mitch's turns back around to face Enderlox, he's met with the horrifying sight of two sets of long, dark purple claws lashing at his face.

Screaming in agony, Mitch tumbles back off of Enderlox as the claws rake over his face, leaving a crisscross pattern of shallow slashes across the majority of his face. They sting unbearably as the nerves become subject to open air, and Enderlox squirms his way out from underneath Mitch, while he's busy gripping at his bleeding face, pain overtaking his mind. Mitch reaches out in a feeble attempt to grab ahold of Enderlox's tail once again, but he twists around, sinking his razors sharp fangs into Mitch's forearm. Mitch cries out again, and Enderlox leaps away, taking flight once again with a single powerful beat of his wings.

Blood clouding his vision, one eye damaged enough to stay almost completely shut, Mitch rises with wobbly legs. The puncture wounds lining his forearm drip with darker than normal blood, and the skin around the wounds is irritated and slightly purple. Enderlox has two glands filled with a nauseating venom, and by biting Mitch, now Mitch finds his surroundings blurry and doubled as a result. He just manages to stumble away as spheres of purple flame pelt the ground around him, Enderlox attempting to position the gaps so that Mitch will accidentally stumble into one. But despite his best efforts, and although the he effects of Enderlox's venom still linger, Mitch is no pushover. He, by some miracle, manages to keep on his feet and prevent himself from falling, stalling long enough for the worst of the nausea and pain to pass. The blood, having thickened and slowed down from the crossing gashes lining his face, Mitch wipes it away from his eyes once last time, eyeing down Enderlox with bloodshot eyes-literally.

I can't get close to Enderlox with to risking more injures. Not when he can just get up and fly safely away to where I can't reach him... Mitch thinks, wincing in pain as his forearm stings upon drawing his bow, and pulling back the string. Nonetheless, Mitch notches an arrow and aims through slightly fuzzy eyes at the soaring form of Enderlox, taking interest in the thin purple membrane of his wings, stretched between slender black bones. So to fix that, I'll just have to cripple him first. Meanwhile, Enderlox has momentarily halted his attacks, his attentions drawn to Vikk and WitherMU. Vikk is shaking, breathing in ragged strained breaths, just hanging onto consciousness. WitherMU blind with rage, shoots a wither skull directly at Vikk, which will no doubt kill him. Alarm bells ring in Enderlox's head, and his eyes widen, desperately flinging a flame to intercept the skull, catching it just before it reaches Vikk. WitherMU turns to him with an ghastly cry of anger.

WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! The cry translates to.
Enderlox glowers at him. "Idiot! You can't kill him! It's against the rules!"
     WitherMU glares at Enderlox. You may want to remind Mitch of that as well.

Enderlox's eyes widen as suddenly, a barrage of arrows are raining down at him. He swoops and desperately attempts to avoid the onslaught of projectiles, but eventually several manage to snag on his wings, tearing easily through the delicate membrane. Enderlox cries out in pain, quickly diving to the ground and folding his wings behind him, attempting to shield them from further damage. The last thing he wants is to be left flightless, especially when facing a formidable opponent like Mitch. But as soon as his feet touch the ground, a mass of black and red is ramming into him, snow flying up as Enderlox collides with the ground. Enderlox thrashes under the weight of Mitch, clawing at him and snapping at the arms grabbing at the fold of his wing. But Mitch simply presses more weight onto Enderlox, grimacing in pain as he wrestles to pry open Enderlox's wing, eventually succeeding. Mitch's hands wrap tightly around the thicker bone of Enderlox's wing, the one jutting from his back and supporting the entire wing itself. Enderlox's eyes go wide as he realizes Mitch's intentions, and a ball of flame forms in his hand, aimed for Mitch's torso.

SNAP

     Enderlox screams in anguish, teeth flashing and eyes slitted and small, the ball of flame shooting into Mitch at full force. Mitch cries out and stumbles back, the breath knocked out of him as he rolls on the ground, clutching at his burnt chest and squirming to snuff out the flame. Enderlox pushes himself to his feet, roaring loudly, the crowd silent as he goes absolutely beserk. Enderlox tries to shoot into the air, and gets maybe three blocks up, before roaring in agony and crashing to the ground. He stands again, eyes wild and glowing brightly purple, one wing tucked tightly against his side, and one dragging limply behind him, the bone bent at an awkward angle. Neither are aware or could even care at the sudden disappearance of WitherMU and Vikk.

     Enderlox lunges at Mitch like a wild animal, Mitch still shaking doubled over on the ground, clutching at his searing chest. Enderlox collides with him, both somersaulting multiple times through the snow, finally come to a stop just at the edge of the hole Jerome had fallen through. Enderlox is perched ontop of Mitch, who's head is dangling into the hole, staring at Enderlox with wide fearful eyes. Enderlox snarls again, eyes slitted, teeth barred, all common sense gone. His large purple claws wrap around Mitch's neck, and Mitch's eyes roll back slightly as the claws tighten with unnatural strength, cutting off his supply of oxygen. Mitch's gasps for air, but draws in nothing, one hand feelbly clawing at Enderlox's arms, another reaching towards his jaw.

     "P-P-plea-se..." Mitch manages to gasp out, tears streaming down his face.

     Enderlox roars, squeezing tighter, and the crowd is silent, not sure how to react to the gruesome scene. With once last boost of strength, fighting not only for Jerome and six friends sake, but for his life as well. His hand strikes a particular spot by Enderlox's neck and jaw, and suddenly, Enderlox's eyes go wide. Eyes fluttering closed, claws loosening, Enderlox collapses ontop of Mitch, quickly reverting to his normal state. Shaking, black creeping in at the edges of his vision, Mitch pushes Ty weakly off him, and into the hole behind him, where he lands in the water with a splash. Mutants quickly jump in to pull Ty out before he drowns. And then Mitch stands on wobbly legs, coughing blood as he goes, swaying and showing that he is the last one standing, and that him, Jerome, and Vikk won.

     Then darkness closes in, and he collapses to the snow in silence.
