Chapter 25

Warnings: Blood

     ~3rd P.O.V.~

The ruler-which they now know as Lani-leads them down the spiralling staircases of the Dimensional castle, past two heavy oaken doors, and down nearly to bedrock level. She's flanked by two guards, and Lachlan recognizes the third person as Ian, his fellow weapons expert and his opponent in the upcoming challenge. The other five are tagging along as well, although it took a bit of persuading to let them join. As they step into a room with an end portal in the centre, the six can feel their hearts beating fast in anxiety, Lachlan's beating the hardest by far.

They enter through the portal, the very fabric of their being being twisted and and broken, before coming to join once again in the End. Unlike when you first spawn in the End, the obsidian platform floating in the middle of the void is surrounded by a mixture of stone ricks and endstone to provide protection from the Enderdragon. The only reason they haven't built a third kingdom here is because of all the Endermen and, of course, the Enderdragon. Vikk recalls, shaking his head to rid himself of the nausea from teleporting. They travel through the silent halls, the muffled sounds of gurgling Endermen audible through the walls. The very moment they step out into the open, a terrifying roar splits the darkness. Suddenly, a gigantic mass is whooshing past them, mere blocks away. Where's as Lani, Ian, the two guards, and Lachlan aren't fazed, the other five find themselves flinching in instinct. The Enderdragon lands a little bit away, kicking up clouds of enddust and knocking over multiple Endermen, roaring ferocity and displaying it's razor sharp teeth.

As customary, Lachlan and Ian are both decked out in full diamond gear, with a large arsenal of weapons. Anyone else has iron armour for protection. Lani took any items or weapons the pack held, for the sake of not being able to ambush her or interfere with the challenge. She casts a sideways glance at Ian, and nods subtly. A split second later, and he's charming the dragon head on, twin diamond blades clutched in his hands.

The dragon roars once more, purple eyes gleaming dangerously, and let's out a breath of toxic purple smoke. With surprising reflexes, Ian whips out a shield, and blocks the bulk of the toxins. As it pools around his feet, and starts to drain his health, he takes and enderpearl and pitches it to beside the dragon, appearing there momentarily in a puff of purple. The Enderdragon snarls, it's mighty tail swinging around to bat down Ian like a bug. He ducks under it, sliding past its massive black wings, and shoving both of his swords deep into its scaly side. He has time to pull only one out before the dragon snarls in rage, beating its wings down and propelling itself into the air, the sheer force of the wind knocking Ian off his feet. Rob notes that all the ender crystals have been removed before hand, so the dragon can't heal itself. All the better for Lachlan...

As the dragon circles around the towering obsidian pillars, Ian keeps his gaze above that of the Endermen. He's smart doing this, because even with his black sunglasses, the Endermen are likely to attack if he's no careful and accidentally catches one of their gazes. Ian pulls out a simple bow, notching an arrow, and pulling back the drawstring. He lets three successive arrows fly, which all find their mark along the muscular neck of the Enderdragon. It roars in agony, swooping down with surprising speed and head butting Ian in the chest. But instead of tossing him hundreds of blocks in the air for him to fall to his death, Ian takes a hold of its horns, staring it directly in the eyes. The dragon roars, trying and failing to shake him off, and Ian climbs in its head, straddling its neck.

The dragon, in an attempt to get Ian off, tries to crash into a pillar. Ian quickly and firmly droves the dragons head to the right by the horns, and it smashes into the obsidian pillar, sending it toppling over. Ian enderpearls away just as the pillar crashes down on the dragon, pinning its wings down and trapping it. It thrashes about, spitting its toxic flame and trying to free itself, eyes wild with fury. Many of the Endermen teleport away out of fear.

"How is he going to kill it when it's surrounded by that toxic stuff...?" Vikk whispers to no one in particular, watching as Ian pulls out what seems to be a incredibly sharp spear, and heavy hammer.
"I think I know..." Lachlan mumbles, voice full of dread.
     "How?" Preston asks.

Lachlan doesn't answer. The pack watches on with confused expressions as Ian reaches up, and takes off his sunglasses. Lani smirks. Lachlan looks scared. And the others seem fearful of what they're about to see. Slowly, as the dragons thrashes and roars in the background, Ian's brilliant blue eyes start to turn in opposite directions.

Jerome looks on, questioning his sanity as the eyes settle into place. "What."
"It's time to... END this!" The Derp version of Ian shouts, in a disturbingly different voice.
"I'm honestly really confused and scared right now." Rob states quietly.

Derp Ssundee runs straight through the toxic fumes, the heavy war hammer hoisted high above his head. He hops bravely onto the Enderdragons flailing neck, and brings the hammer down on its head. It's body instantly stops wriggling, and its head flops down, nearly unconscious as bring purple ooze drips from the cuts and bashes littering its body. Derp Ssundee then goes to work dashing around the body, cutting, slashing, and stabbing it multiple times with spear all while laughing maniacally. After he's successfully mauled the dragon, purple blood spilling over everything and the ground, he pulls out a diamond battle ax. Walking menacingly up to the dragon, just hanging onto its life, he drives the axe into its skull, finishing the job.

Derp Ssundee quickly backs away as bright flashes of purple explode from within the corpse, and the dead Enderdragon floats into the air. There is explodes in a show of explosions and purple, and hundreds of orbs of experience drop onto the ground. By now Ian has put his glasses back on, and he's returned to Lani's side.

     "Well done, Ian. Guards, time?"
"Fifteen minutes and thirty-eight seconds, ma'am."

Lachlan's stomach drops. How am I supposed to beat that?
