The next day in school, Chenle was absent. He didn't feel like going that day. He had called up Yuki and told her that he wasn't feeling well, so he wouldn't be able to join them at school, nor at Jisung's house.

Hyejin being sad because Chenle wasn't coming, was an understatement. She had made a mental note to ask him about the call. But more importantly, she wanted to see him. Seeing him made her happy.

Her mood was ruined, but Jisung, being the good boyfriend he was, noticed her dropped mood and tried her best to lift it up. He thought that she was sad because Chenle was her best friend, and he wasn't coming for her birthday.

Yuki, too, noticed it. Though she didn't think that Chenle being her best friend was the reason she was sad. She still stuck to the thought that Hyejin had a crush on Chenle too. Not that Yuki was angry at her for being in a relationship with one guy and having a crush on another one. She was pretty sure that Hyejin hadn't realised it herself.

Hyejin was a bit upset in school, but Jisung made sure to stick beside her the whole time, giving her kisses sneakily between classes when no one was looking. That made her a giggly mess, which warmed his heart. It was evident that these two were deeply in love.

After school was over, as planned, they all went to Jisung's house. Hyejin's mood was slightly better.

The evening was spent watching movies, and after the others left, Hyejin and Jisung sat on the couch, her head on his chest, as he wrapped one arm around her shoulder and the other one played with her fingers, as they watched some random cartoon on TV, legs entangled.

'Are you sad that Chenle couldn't join?' He mumbled, looking at her.

'Mhm...but its not just that.' She sighed.

'Hm?' He tilted his head. 'What happened? You can tell me anything...you know that, right?'

'The thing is, Ji...I got a call from him today at around 5 am...' She started, and took a deep breath before continuing to tell her everything about the call.
