Part One: While The Darkness Reigned

While the darkness reigned,

As king, with a crown.

A shadow over us, this town,

Darkening our minds,

But we were always blind.

While the light was gone,

Cast aside, in exile.

We search for it,

We find it,

And we bring it home.

It's beautiful, those moments,

When we hold the light.

Refreshing, hopeful,

But soon enough, it's gone,

Leaving us alone.

And darkness continues to reign,

Never asking for anything.

We don't have to struggle,

It may be dark,

But at least it's easy.
