Chapter 5

October 24, 1972

I don't know why I have to write this... Lo said it'd be better if I did in case the others didn't get sent back. The only reason I agreed to write this was because I want Janus to know what happened to Lo-Lo and I. I'm just kinda scared I guess..? We don't know if you guys got sent back with us or

Remus paused his writing, wiping tears that were starting to fall. He got up from his desk and closed his bedroom door. He didn't want Logan to see him cry.

...if you stayed in 2019. Logan hasn't been talking to me for the past week. He's been doing something in his room. It's annoying to get up everyday with only the sound of all my problems to keep me company.
Logan said that we have to pretend to be straight. But that's bullshit. I'm not gonna pretend to be something I'm not. We actually got into an argument about this. He said it was "for my safety" or some shit like that.

Remus rolled his eyes, humming quietly to distract himself from the swirling mess of thoughts in his head. He tapped the pen on the paper, trying to think of what else has happened.

When we first got here, I refused to leave the alleyway we appeared in. I thought you guys would come with us.. well, you never did..
Logan and I lived on the streets for about a month. We tried our best to find food and a place to stay but we didn't have any luck until this man came up to us and asked Logan if he wanted a job. Logan said no at first but after some convincing, he agreed. He'd leave me in that alley for hours a day. Some people would come and steal our food after they beat me against a wall. But Logan would usually scare them off. I don't know what it was about Logan but he always seemed to make people run away.

Remus checked the time. It was way past midnight and he needed rest. But rest could wait.

Logan got money really quickly. In about two weeks, Logan's boss was able to help us move into an apartment. It isn't the best but it works..
Anyways.. I think this'll be enough for today.. Goodnight, Jan..

~Remus Prince

Remus finished signing his name, setting the pen and paper down before pushing away from the desk and standing up from the chair. He plopped down onto his bed, falling back in exhaustion. He let his eyes slip close, nuzzling into the bed.

"G'night, Jan-Jan.."

A/N: Y'all better keep track of what year it is
