Eleanor was awake till late in the night and studying under the little lamp that stood glowing on her desk. She couldn't put her full concentration though because there were a lot of thoughts burning the back of her mind.
That phone call from Devon out of the blue still baffled her and left her perturbed. Was that really him? Sure it was. She could never forget that voice....but even if it was him or anybody else, why didn't that person contact her again since then? How did Devon manage to find her after so many months? Isn't the world supposed to be a very big place where once people go their separate ways, they don't see each other forever?
How did he sound so confident that he'd see her as though he just knew the exact place to find her? Did he know everything about her new life? How? Was he somewhere nearby? Why wasn't he showing up then? What was he waiting for? Was he watching her somehow right then?
I don't care, Eleanor clenched her fists tight, It doesn't matter if it was really Devon or a hoax, I am well prepared to deal with everything. Nobody can play with my life anymore. And my past has absolutely no place in my life for sure.
"Hey...."
Eleanor jerked slightly as she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. Her roommate, Heather, was standing behind her with a look of hesitance on her face.
"Hey, I'm sorry if the lamp disturbed your sleep," said Eleanor, apologizing. "Imma switch it off now,"
"No no it's all cool, seriously," said Heather. "I was just wondering that it's too late into the night....you shouldn't over work yourself so much.....maybe get some sleep......." she added in concern.
"Yeah, I will, thanks."
"You look disturbed....Is there any problem? I'd be glad to help out," said Heather affably.
"No, I'm good. Just tired," Eleanor smiled a bit.
"Um....we're shifting tomorrow, did you pack?"she asked even though she knew the answer.
"No, I didn't..."
"I can help you pack," Heather said earnestly.
"You don't have to, thanks though," said Eleanor. "I will pack tomorrow morning before I leave for work."
"Alright then...Good night."
"Good night," nodded Eleanor.

The following day Devon, Nathan and Preston arrived at the villa with their respective trunks to finally move in there. And the grandeur of the place didn't fail to impress them like always.
The exterior walls of the villa were painted in an elegant white and gleamed in the afternoon sun. The swanky interiors included golden marble flooring, English windows and the basic furniture made available to the tenants seemed to have taken inspiration from the ancient Greek culture. Spiral white staircases with sparkling golden railings led to the first floor landing of the villa. The plush kitchen area, which was right across the magnificent oval hall, gave a view of the big rectangular swimming pool outside. To the right of the pool was the lush green garden area and to the left was a beautiful patio.
"We could have outdoor meals right here," said Preston, walking around the patio.
"I'm so happy seeing this swimming pool even though I don't know how to swim and don't wish to know either," mumbled Nathan standing at thr pool area.
"Happens, dude," chuckled Preston.
"The real estate market ain't doin' well these days," said Devon. "So the owner plans to wait until next year to put it up for sale. Till then we get to live here."
"So we've got two wings here," said Nathan as they walked back indoors in the hall. "The East Wing has four rooms while the West Wing has three rooms. So we can occupy the rooms in the West Wing and leave the East Wing to the other four boys when they arrive. What say?"
Preston and Devon exchanged uneasy looks hearing that.
"Any problem?" Nathan prodded.
"Ha ha ha! No problem at all!" said Preston, acting cool. "We'll take the West Wing."
After Nathan took the stairs to his right and went off to settle his room, all hell broke lose.
"Dude, we've got to tell Nathan that the rest of the tenants are probably girls," drawled Devon to a panicky Preston.
"Absolutely, not!" The other boy refuted at once in alarm.
"It's not something that can be hidden forever," Devon reasoned. "Nathan will know the truth in no time. And when he does, he'll obviously think it was all my plan to shock him. And this time, for a change, I'm not at fault."
"Nathan will kill me! He'll never talk to me again, " Preston said, sounding depressed.
"Hiding and lying about stuff hasn't gotten anyone anywhere," said Devon quietly.
But Preston didn't hear him say that. "I've a plan!" he exclaimed brightly. "When those girls arrive, we will pretend to be deeply shocked. That way we will make Nathan believe that we didn't know either that the tenants wouldn't be boys."
Devon refused flatly but Preston somehow convinced him in the end.
"And you will not fucking ditch me in this at the end moment like you always do," said Preston.
"Fine, " muttered Devon, rolling his eyes.
"So, now that we have our priorities sorted out, let's get down to practicing how to be shocked in front of Nathan," said Preston in an all-important voice.
"You got to be kidding, man!"
"Of course not. Haven't you heard of realistic acting? And as the saying goes whatever you do, do it perfect."
Devon couldn't believe he had signed up for this. He was waiting impatiently for Eleanor to show up...

After setting up his room, Nathan was heading downstairs to the kitchen area. He had just touched the foot of the staircase when he heard a giggling sound. He instantly looked up at the first floor landing across the hall in the East Wing and caught a brief glimpse of two girls walking together before they disappeared around the bend....
A chill ran down Nathan's spine and he just stood there motionless with eyes wide open, completely stumped.
He couldn't believe what he'd just seen. Girls in this villa???
Can't be! Can't be at all! There just cannot be girls here! Didn't the owner himself say that all the tenants are boys? Even Preston and Devon said the same thing?
Nathan took deep breaths to calm his nerves down. It has to be just my illusion. There is nothing to worry about. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. No girl would ever set foot here. None at all.
Nathan quickly climbed back upstairs and was on his way to his room when he spotted a girl walking towards him from the opposite direction.
That left him gobsmacked. He instinctively pulled himself behind the wall so as to avoid being seen by her. Nathan was jittery all over as though he had just seen a ghost.
"Are you okay?"
Nathan gave a yelp as he nearly jumped in alarm seeing a different girl looking at him quizzically.
Another girl??!!
"Hi, My name is Briona," the girl introduced herself. "Have moved in here sometime back. Did you too?"
Nathan was dumbfounded hearing that. Say what?!
He was struggling to digest what he heard when....
"Hey, I'm Heather," the girl he was hiding from now appeared by his side. "Am assuming that you've moved in here too! What's your name? And and and isn't this place wonderful!!"
Nathan found two pairs of female eyes looking at him. He felt so pathetically embarrassed that he just wished to bury himself underground.
Somehow finding his lost voice in his dry throat, he managed to stutter, "I-I-I-I-I n-need to go. Bye."
And off Nathan went, shivering all over in extreme awkwardness.
Two girls??!! Two girls will be living in here??!! Why? How?? I smell Devon's prank here!! He purposely hid everything from me. I will NOT leave him!!
W-What if—W-What if there are other girls out here....?
"Did he just run away?" Briona exclaimed, startled.
"Yes. He sure did, Weird," muttered Heather.
"Must be shy. But he was so damn cute."
"I know right! I could just spend hours looking at him. So happy he'll be around!"
They then wandered off to the garden area where they came across Preston. The three just got acquainted with each other when Devon came in there being his usual brooding self. He was wearing charcoal jeans, denim shirt with the first two button left open and the breeze cause one of his short luscious strands to fall on his forehead.
The girls' mouth hung open and they just stood there gawking at his stunning intense appearance. They never knew a boy could be this unworldly hot and handsome. His gorgeous blue eyes caused their girly hormones to rattle in desire.
"Hey I-I'm Briona. Nice to meet you," she said, playing it cool.
"And if you don't like her name, it's perfectly fine. My name is Heather," she said, looking dreamily at Devon.
"Why won't he like my name?" snapped Briona.
"Because my name sounds better than yours?" countered Heather.
Preston was beginning to enjoy the cat fight but Devon interrupted Briona when she was about to shoot back at her friend.
"Girls, can we call it a day?" said Devon, started to get irritated. "Is there someone else who has moved in here with you?"
"Yes, our friend, Eleanor!" the girls replied together. Each of the two girls could do anything to just get him to talk to them with that thick sexy voice of his.
"Where is she?"
