I sang along to one of my favourite songs of Shawn Mendes' to sing to when I was happy. Tomorrow was the day. I had my outfit hanging from my closet hook, my makeup lined up on the counter, and my alarm set for 6:30am. I had saved up for 6 months for this. And it was finally almost the day.

"Would you stop singing!" My brother yelled at me from his room, which happened to be on the other side of mine.

"In your dreams assface!" I screamed back.

"LANGUAGE" I heard my mom screech from downstairs. I rolled my eyes at her even though she couldn't see me. With that I turned up my music and sang louder. I heard Emerson loudly grunt. This was his famous 'I would like to stab you now' grunt.

"MOM! TELL ELODIE TO TURN HER GARBAGE MUSIC DOWN"

"I WILL RIP YOUR UGLY FACE OFF IF YOU CALL SHAWN MENDES' MUSIC GARBAGE ONE MORE TIME!"

"GARBAGE"

I burst into his room before he could even move, grabbed a basketball from his floor and threw it at his face as hard as I could, even though that wouldn't be very hard. It hit him directly in the forehead.

"OW! WHAT THE FUCK" he howled. I gave him a smirk and slammed the door to his disgusting room.

That night I lay in my room, thinking. People who have heard me sing always say I'm really good, but I rarely sing in front of people. Sometimes I wonder if I'm any good. Ever since Shawn Mendes has made it to the spot light I started singing. I know all of his songs by my heart. Hell, I probably know more about his life than mine. But don't peg me as a stupid little fan girl. The reason I love him so much is because he saved me. He saved me from myself, from my very own destructive mind.
