With heavy hearts, Minerva and Poppy carried the contents of the letter with them for the next couple of weeks. Every now and then they would meet to discuss the letter, but they never spoke of it with anyone else. Otherwise, they carried on with their daily duties of caring for the students.

Hermione was now eight and half months along. Just a few more weeks and Sophie will be joining the world. Hermione was happy, scared and sad about this. She was currently in the library doing some research when she started to feel a sharp pain in her abdomen. She screamed out in pain, gaining the attention of a few students in the library. A couple of students rushed to her, "Are you alright?" one of the asked. She shook her head 'no'. She opened her mouth to speak when she felt the pain again. This one causing her to fall out of her chair. "Get Mrs. Pince. NOW!" Hermione gets out. The student rushes off to find the librarian. It doesn't take long for her to return, librarian in tow.

"Oh my! Hermione, whats wrong?" She asks as she carefully helps Hermione into the sitting position. "Pain. Lots of pain." Hermione says. Mrs. Pince turns to the student who brought her, "Go find Professor Snape. Tell him to meet me in the Infirmary. Its Hermione." As the student scurries off, Mrs. Pince uses a levitation on Hermione and takes her to the Infirmary. She meets Severus outside of the door to the Infirmary. "What happened?" He asked. His voice catches Poppy's attention. She opens the door and her face falls. "Oh dear, bring her in and lay her one the bed over there," she instructs. Mrs. Pince does as she told and Severus rushes to her side. "Hermione, love, what's wrong?" he asks. She looks up at him her face pale from how much pain she is in, and responds with a shaky voice, "I love you, Sev." She says before passing out. Poppy walks over and runs a quick a diagnostic. Her suspicions were answered, but she couldn't let Severus know. "She's fine Severus. Just Braxton Hicks. Let her rest, I'll let you know when she wakes up." Severus nods, "Thank you, Poppy." He kisses Hermione's forehead, "I love you, too" he says and returns to his class.

After he leaves, Poppy floos to Minerva's Office. "Minerva!" She calls out. "Poppy? What is it?" She asks with a worried expression. "Hermione. It's Hermione. Its started." She says with a grave expression. Minerva's heart falls when she hears this. "Are you sure?" Poppy just nods. "I ran a diagnostic. But I didn't tell Severus. I told him it's Braxton Hicks."
