Hermione woke to the sound of running water. She rolled over to find Severus's side of the bed empty. She sighed as she rolled onto her back, when an idea came to her. She crawled out of bed and walked towards the bathroom door. She quietly opened and closed the door and shed her clothes before surprising Severus in the shower. And let's just say, they took a longer shower than expected..

After their extra long shower, Severus and Hermione made their to the kitchen for breakfast. Severus made Christmas tree shaped pancakes for the both of them with apple juice to drink. After they finished eating, Hermione took the dishes to the sink and washed them while Severus went upstairs to get her present. After the dishes were done, Hermione went to living room to sit down. 

She was surprised when she found a Christmas tree by the fireplace, as it wasn't there the night before. "I had Fifi set it up." Severus said, as if reading her mind. He walked around the couch and sat next to her, an tan gift bag, with orange and gold tissue paper, in his hands. Hermione looked at him with an arched brow.Severus just chuckled and handed her the gift bag, "It's your Christmas present, love." Hermione opened the bag and found a small orange box decorated with a gold candelabra and the letters JA. She opened the box and pulled out the little pouch it contained. She dumped the contents in her hand, revealing a charm bracelet. 

Severus took the charm bracelet from her and put it on her wrist, "This is a sterling silver charm bracelet from James Avery. The book is for your love of reading, the rose for your love of Beauty and The Beast, the infinity symbol to signify my love for you is forever, and the green and red beads for our houses. Now, the Texas bead is from Brii, to remind you that you will always be welcomed in Texas." Hermione looked up at Severus with tears in her eyes. Severus's brow scrunched, trying to figure what he said that hurt her. Hermione cupped his face in her hands and pulled him into a sweet and tender kiss. "Thank you, Severus. This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me." She says when they break the kiss. Severus wipes her tears away with his thumb, then gently kisses her cheek. "You deserve so much, Hermione. More than I can ever give you." He whispered softly. Hermione leaned her head so they're foreheads we're touching, "Severus, you have no idea how much you've given me." He looked up at her, meeting her soft gaze, "What could I have possibly given you, Hermione? Me, the old, cranky, dungeon bat." Hermione had to giggle a that. "You saved my life. Gave me a reason to live. You showed me there is more to my life. You gave me love. You are my light when I see darkness. You gave my daughter a father. You gave me you, Severus. And that's more than anyone else has ever done for me. I love you, Severus Tobias Snape. Nothing will ever change that." She finishes her little speech by kissing him on the cheek.

Severus sits there dumbstruck by her words. He looks up at her, a tear sliding down his cheek, "I didn't realize I meant so much to you, Hermione." He says barely loud enough for her to hear him. She pats his hand, "I'll be right back, Sev." She climbs off the couch and up the stairs to get his present. She comes back down a few moments with a black wooden box. She sat back next to Severus and handed him the box. Inside, laying a purple velvet was a black, stainless wrist cuff. He looked at her with a questioning gaze, "This cuff is connected to the one I'm wear," she starts to explain, pulling up her sleeve to show a similar cuff. Her's is narrower than his to fit her wrist, "it allows you to feel my heart, and I yours. I got the idea one night when I fell asleep to the sound of your heartbeat." Severus slipped on the cuff before pulling Hermione into a passionate kiss. "It's perfect, my love. Thank you."
