.:Chapter 2 ~New Problems~:.
.:Tord's PoV. This is pretty much the whole story:.
"Who is i-" Tom said as he opened the door. His "eyes", if you could even call them that, widened as soon as he saw me. "Hey, Tom," I said, smiling nervously. The blue clad male shut the door on my face. I could hear him say something like "One of you ought to talk to him, because if I do I'll kill him,". After a few minutes of arguing, the door opened again. It was Edd this time. He didn't look too excited to see me, but he certainly seemed in a better mood than Tom. "Why are you here, Tord," It unnerved me to hear the hostile tone in Edd's voice; he never was hostile to anyone unless they had really f***ed up. "I... I wanted to apologize," I said, but I already knew what would come next. "Leave us alone Tord. We can't trust you right now... possibly ever again," Edd replied, and the door closed on me again. I sighed, making my way back downstairs and to the car that was still parked outside. I got in the back seat silently. Patryk continued to drive. "...You were going to see your friends, weren't you?" Paul asked after about five minutes of silence. "I don't want to talk about it," I said plainly, pulling the hood farther over my head to hide the tears coming from my one good eye. "They'll come around, Tord. It'll just take some time," Patryk said reassuringly. "I tried to kill them, Patryk," I replied, agitated. "Well, yeah, but... Look, I just know they'll forgive you. One day," Patryk said, and then there was silence.
I had never been to Patryk and Paul's house before. In fact, all I really knew about their life outside of the Red Team was that they were a happy homosexual couple that lived together in the suburbs. They had a pretty nice place though. The outside was painted a pastel yellow, and inside it was painted a good shade of blue. The house was so nice that you would never be able to guess that it was the home of two criminals. Not unless you really knew them. Paul took me upstairs to show me the guest room. "Just make yourself at home," Paul said before going into his and Patryk's own room down the hall. I only stayed in the room to look around before going back downstairs. It wasn't like I had anything to really unpack anyway. All I did was set the damaged clothes on the bed. I sat on a chair, waiting.
After a few minutes, Paul and Patryk came back downstairs. They were in maroon sweaters now. Both of them. Patryk went into the kitchen to get some dinner started ,of course not without giving Paul a kiss first. Paul, smiling and blushing furiously, walked over to a cabinet under the TV to get a movie. I guess he was slightly embarrassed, considering this was the first time I'd ever witnessed them showing affection to one-another. "You two make a cute couple," I commented, probably only making him blush more. "Thanks..." Paul said shyly. Yep, he was embarrassed. "Hey, don't get embarrassed," I smiled, "I'm okay with it,". I could see the guy smile. "Thanks," He said again, obviously less embarrassed now.
Paul had finally gotten a movie started when Patryk came back in the main room with one of those pizzas that you would get at the grocery store and then put it in the oven to eat. The three of us ended up finishing the pizza off quickly, it was that good. "... Thanks for letting me stay," I said to the two men on the couch. "It's no problem," Patryk replied, "We'd do just about anything to help you,".
About halfway into the movie, Paul had fallen asleep. Patryk stood, picking his lover up bridal style. "We're gonna go to sleep now. You should do the same soon," Patryk said, making his way to the stairs. "Okay, I will," I replied, still looking at the TV screen., "Goodnight, Patryk,". "Goodnight," Patryk said as he walked up the stairs. I was able to stay awake for a while, but eventually I had fallen right to sleep in that chair.
My sleep was interrupted by a loud noise and a buzzing in my hoodie, "All my friends are heathen's take it slow..." The ringtone sung. I groaned as I looked at the phone screen- It was 1 AM. The annoyance soon turned to a mix of panic and glee as I saw the caller ID. It was Matt. "Hello?" I asked. "Tord, Tord, you need to get over here!" Matt said in a whisper-like, panicked tone. Panic took over now, "What, what's wrong?" I sat up now. "S-Someone's in the apartments. Edd told me to hide, and I just heard some gunshots and Edd screaming. I-I think they hurt him, Tord! I-I'm scared!" I could tell Matt was crying. "Look, Matt, calm down and keep quiet, I'll be there in a few minutes." I said, trying my best to keep calm. "O-Okay" Matt said, and he hung up. I stuffed the phone back into my pocket, then ran upstairs. I nearly ripped the door to Paul and Patryk's room off the hinges. Both of them woke instantly. "Tord, what the hell-" Paul began, but I stopped him. "Matt, Edd and Tom are in trouble. We need to get to them ASAP." I said quickly. They must have been able to sense the panic in my voice, as they both got up and put some shoes on. Patryk grabbed three guns from the closet- Pistols, to be precise- and gave one to Paul and myself. "Let's go," He said.
And we were off.
It only took about ten minutes to get to the apartments at the speed we were going. As soon as we arrived I hopped out of the car. Paul and Patryk came close behind me, and once we got to the apartments I ran to Edd's door. Strange noises could be heard inside. I kicked the door open and fired. A guy in all black fell to the floor. I guess I had just shot the guy who was about to kill Tom, because there he was not, staring right at me. "What are you dong here, and who are they?!" Tom yelled, pointing to Paul and Patryk. "I came to save your a** and they're friends of mine," I said simply, "Is there anyone else here?". "I saw some guy run down the hall, possibly to find Matt," On cue, we heard Matt scream. I booked down the hall, and saw that a blonde female had Matt by the hood collar. She stopped dead still when I cocked my pistol. "Put. Matt. Down," I said. The female did so, and and she turned to look at me. Her eyes were about as blue as a morning sky, and they seemed to glow in the dark. She looked familiar, and even more so when she smirked. The woman then ran at a window and jumped. She was gone. "You alright Matt?" I asked. Matt was still crying, but thankfully he wasn't hurt. "I didn't think you'd come here..." Matt said, a bit shamefully. "Why wouldn't I? Now where's Edd?" I asked. "The kitchen, I think," Matt said. Sure enough, Edd was there. There were two bullet holes in him. One was in his shoulder, the other in his knee. He was unconscious from blood-loss. Paul, of course, got him bandaged up quickly. "That'll do for a bit, but we need to get him to the hospital soon," Paul said. "Then let's go before he dies," Tom said, walking towards the door. I heard Matt whimper. "Don't say that Tom. Your scaring Matt," I said. "Shut the f*** up, commie," Tom growled. I sighed, then helped Matt carry Edd to the car.
So there we were.
Patryk was driving, Paul was in the passenger's seat, and Matt, Tom and I were crammed in the back seat with Edd across our laps. "They were some of yours, weren't they Tord?" Tom said. It was clear he didn't forgive me. "No. If they were mine they'd be wearing blue, red and white," I replied, "Plus, I wouldn't let them target you if they were mine.". "Then who were they?" Matt asked. "I don't know. That blonde was familiar though," I sighed. "I know. That was the leader of our opposing team," Paul said, "I think she goes by Soleil,". "She probably targeted you three because she knew Tord wasn't monitoring you anymore. She's luckily smart enough to know that if Tord's around then he'll kill her. Tord really does care about you three," Patryk continued. I owed him a huge favor. Patryk just summed up everything I'd wanted to tell them since I woke on the hill. "So, long story short, we've again got a whole group out to kill us? Wonderful," Tom said sarcastically. "Wrong. Aside from anyone you may have encountered on your adventures, you never did have anyone try to kill you. Tord constantly stayed in your general area. And when he couldn't, He'd have us do it," Paul corrected. "Who are you anyway? More of Tord's murder posse?" Tom growled. He still didn't believe it. "Their names are Patryk and Paul. Trust me, they are some of the best guys you'll meet," I introduced. "Are you two a thing??" Matt asked excitedly. I laughed, while I could just see the two in the front seat blushing. "Yes," Patryk finally answered. "CUTE!" Matt squealed. "Thank you," Paul replied. I found it great that at least Matt got along with them.
Tom, however, he'd take longer to trust them, I knew. It was fine though.
Hopefully, We have all the time in the world.
