Mackenzie's POV age 8

"Ugh where am I?"

'This is the bottom of a deep trench how did I get here?' I thought

"Hello is anyone there?!" A voice yelled

"Huh?"

"If anybody is down there please say something" the voice yelled

"I'm down here who are you can you help me?" I yelled

"Yes, just wait until I get help" the voice said

I heard footsteps the person was getting help

I looked over where I had laid

"Something's missing am I forgetting something... or someone" I muttered looking around

"Grab on the rope I'll pull you up!!" The voice said

I grabbed the rope as the person pulled me up

"Thank you" I said

I looked up it was a young boy about my age

"It's nothing, I was told that something bad had happened to the castle last night they heard gunshots and fire I came here to see if anyone was hurt" he said

"Where are your parents?" He asked

"I don't remember... do I have parents?" I wondered

"Then you must be an orphan like me" he said

"Orphan?"

"Yeah kids who don't have parents" he said

"That means we'll have to stick together from now on" he said

"Together?"

He nodded

"What's your name?" He asked

"Mackenzie what's your name?" I asked

"Vincent,Vincent Ortega" he said

"Vincent"

"What happened to you?" He asked

"I don't remember" I said

"Hey is anybody there!!" A few voices yelled

"Oh! it must be the search party lets go okay" Vincent said

He extended his hand towards me

"Okay" I said accepting it

I lost my balance for a second

"Woah alright there?"

I nodded "My head hurts a little"

"It's alright we'll take you to the hospital and they'll give you medicine for you head aches okay" he said smiling

He took my hand and walked towards the road

Me and him walked towards a group of people that had gathered to investigate

"Oh Vincent you've found a girl is she alright?" A woman asked

"Yes, ma'am she's fine though she said her head was hurting" he said

"Oh make sure she doesn't fall asleep she might have a concussion I'll get help and they'll take her to the hospital" the woman said

"Alright sister Mary" Vincent said

"Are they going to take me away?" I asked

"Umm only to the hospital don't worry I'll go with you so you won't be alone" he said

The lady soon came back with some other people

"Alright sweetheart come with me and we'll take you to the hospital" sister Mary said

I was taken to the hospital and Vincent stayed with me the whole time, but he had to go back to the orphanage once visiting hours were over sister Mary said they'd visit tomorrow

I fell asleep knowing i'd see him again tomorrow

Time skip the next day at the hospital~~~

The nurse gave me my food and medicine so it would ease my headaches

"Mackenzie you have a visitor" the nurse said

"Visitor?"

Vincent and sister Mary arrived

"Vincent you're back!" I said happily

"Yeah didn't I tell you I would visit again. He said

I nodded

"Here I brought you this" he said

Vincent gave box that was wrapped in decorative paper

I opened it and it revealed a bunch of sweets such as dark chocolates, milk chocolates and almond chocolates

I ate one of the chocolates and hummed in happiness

"I didn't know if you liked chocolate so I brought you many kinds of them" he said

"Thank you!" I said

"Mackenzie I made the arrangements that when you get released from the hospital you'll be transported to the same orphanage as Vincent's"

"You hear that Mackenzie when you get better you and me can hang out all the time when we get to the orphanage" Vincent said happily

We heard a nurse call for sister Mary

"Oh I'm being called Vincent keep Mackenzie company while I go and fill out some forums" sister Mary said

"Okay"

The lady left me and Vincent alone

"Umm...Vincent"

"What's wrong?" he asked

"What's the orphanage like?" I asked

"Umm well it's like a big motel but instead of adults living there think of kids lots of kids and adults will usually visit and see if they want you as their child and if they take you, well they say if rich people adopt you are better they'll give you lots of sweets" he said

"But what if I never get a someone to take me as their child?" I asked

"Don't worry you will you're adorable!__I mean cute!...I mean smart...umm" he stuttered

I giggled "you're funny"

"Hehe sorry"

Sister Mary came back "Vincent say goodbye to Mackenzie visiting hours are over" sister Mary

"Okay by Mackenzie" he sad

"By Vincent"

A few days later I was released from the hospital and I was taken to the orphanage where Vincent was it was a small building and it was near the beach so the kids often went to the beach to play and build sandcastles

I saw Vincent sitting on the hill that faced the ocean I walked towards him he seemed lost in thought when he saw me he snapped out of what seemed a trance

"Hi Mackenzie are you getting used to the orphanage?"

I nodded "yeah it's okay, the beach is so pretty"

"Not as pretty as you" he muttered

"What?"

"Nothing! nothing Mackenzie"

The sea breeze washed over us it felt good

"Haven't you ever wondered what's across that big blue ocean? places you've never been before a new land with new people and new things like food, clothes, new culture, I want to go across that ocean and go to many places, meet many people from all parts of the world, I want that" Vincent said lying back in the white sand, with his arms above his head

"Wouldn't it be lonely to go adventure to all those places by yourself?" I asked

"No, because I'd take you with me" he said

"And if I refuse to go?" I asked teasingly

"I'd convince you or I could always wait till you go to sleep and when you wake up BAM! In another place and country" he said

I giggled "that's crazy"

He laughed

"Yeah that is crazy, but you want to know something Mackenzie?" He asked looking at me

"What?""

"I don't think that it was just coincidence that you and me met maybe it was destiny or fate?" He said

"What makes you so sure?" I asked

"I don't know I just have this feeling that...never mind"

"What is it? tell me" I insisted

He sighed "that maybe you and I are meant to be with each other__I mean like friends! You and me friends thats all!" he stuttered

I laughed "I'd like that you and me Vincent best of friends together forever" I said smiling

He smiled "Yeah together forever"

If there ever comes a day, when we can't be together, keep me in your heart I'll stay there forever

Authors note:

Finally started this series anyways this is a supplementary or prequel to hellsings newest hitman it is a short story similar to what hellsing the dawn was a supplementary or prequel to hellsing

Since its a short story it will probably be like 10 chapters at most maybe like 12 if I need to extend it

Every chapter will be approximately 1000+words so they're going to be very long chapters
