Tremors

Mumbo Jumbo POV

I'm just sitting in my van. I like to sit in it sometimes and sleep here to reminisce on the memories. It's the night right now, so I'm just looking at the moon. Something seems to be off about it... it's extremely large. Weird, but not much that I can do. It probably doesn't matter.

I feel a shake in the ground, it's so strong it knocks me out of the van, right on to the ground. Oof, that hurt a lot more than I thought it would.

"You okay Mumbo?" I head someone ask. "I'm okay," I groaned, looking up. It was just Pearl. "Hey Pearl," I said with a wave. I smiled weakly.

"You sure you're okay Mumbo?" She asked with concern. "I'm sure I'm fine. Are you okay Pearl?" I asked, there were tears rolling down her face.

She wiped them away hurriedly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Wilbur and I just had an argument." An argument? Wilbur had literally just arrived and was already hurting the members of Boatem, this was not okay. He had no right to just come in and hurt Pearl, who was the sweetest out of all of us.

I grabbed Pearl in for a hug. She looked surprised but embraced it. "I'm going to go find him and talk to him," I promised her. Pearl looked at me sweetly. "You really don't have to talk to him Mumbo. I'd be wary of him."

"Why?" I asked. "He seems like a really nice person..." My mind went back to everything Grian had told me about him, everything that Wilbur himself had said, and my general impression of him. Now I really realized, he and his past were really messed up.

Pearl sighed sadly. "You don't even know the worst part Mumbo. He blew up the nation he founded and..." She hesitated. "You can tell me anything Pearl," I said soothingly. I trusted her much more than I ever would trust Wilbur. "He-Wilbur asked his father to kill him, and he did it!" She cried out. "He's a homicidal maniac Mumbo! He's insane!"

I hugged her even tighter, she was sobbing now. "It's okay Pearl, he's not going to get to you," I whispered. She cried even harder. "He's dangerous Mumbo, be careful!"

I let go gently. "I'm going to go now Pearl, go home, okay?"

She sniffled. "Thank you Mumbo, thank you so much."

I smiled. I walked away, leaving her alone. Now I had a man named Wilbur to find.

Wilbur POV

I took off running. This man was threatening me and I wasn't having it. "Hey, get back here!" He called angrily. "I have something I need to talk to you about!"

I just kept on running, hiding behind a weird tree monster. I stopped, taking a deep breath.

Well great, that man was clearly out to get me, Schlatt now knew I was here, and I had lost one of the only people who I trusted. Now Pearl absolutely hated me. I took a deep breath, and tried not to recall the moment it had all come crashing down.

"Hey Wilbur! Over here!" I heard a voice call. Looking in the direction, I saw it was Mumbo. Mumbo was one of the people who didn't hate me, right? I waved back, assuming that Mumbo wouldn't suddenly start hating me like Pearl.

"We kind of need to talk, Wilbur," he said concerningly. "I was just talking to Pearl, and she had a lot of things to say about you..."

This was not good. If Pearl told everybody about my death than I wouldn't be very welcome in Boatem. Maybe it was time for me to get out of here, find somebody else to take me in. The only problem was that I didn't know anyone, not a single person.

"Sounds cool!" I said nervously. "I should get going! I've got to talk to Grian about... stuff."

Mumbo grabbed my hand. "No, you are not going anywhere until you explain all the things Pearl told me."

I stopped reluctantly. This man seemed like someone not to cross when he was angry. "Fine, what would you like to know first?"

"Well," Mumbo said accusingly. "Pearl told me you asked your father to kill you, is that true?" I could tell he felt a bit bad, and that he felt sympathetic to the situation I was in. His lip was quivering, almost like he didn't want to know the truth.

I laughed maniacally. "Yes, it's true. I blew up the nation I founded, and then asked my father to kill me." I had no regrets. What I had done was truly the best thing possible for everyone. I grinned sadistically, I had enjoyed seeing the pain in all of their faces. It had been amazing.

Mumbo stared at me in shock. "You are a monster," he spat. "I don't know why I ever felt bad for you. If I wasn't doing peace, love, and plants this season I would kill you right here and now." He had no sympathy left for me. "You are a scum-"

I walked away, ignoring what he was saying. I had to make Grian on my side before the news got to him.

"Hey, where are you going!?" He asked angrily. "I'm trying to speak to you here!"

"Well what are you going to do?" I asked slyly. "Kill me?"

That was the last straw for him. He stormed off, not giving me another word. That potato had just been smashed, and I had turned him into mashed potatoes.

I started walking to Grian's house, I really needed to persuade him that I was a good person. I probably shouldn't give the book to him, after seeing Pearl's reaction it was not the best idea.

I walked in and instantly remembered that this was the place I had first met Pearl. Oof, that hurt a lot to remember.

I walked down the stairs to my room, seeing that Grian was coming out of the door at the end of the hallway.

"Oh! Hey Wilbur!" He called out to me, waving.

"Hey Grian!" I called back. "What's up?"

"Not much," he replied. "Can I help you with anything?"

"Actually, yeah. We kind of need to talk."

Grian looked concerned at that. "Is everything okay Wilbur?"

"Well, I kind of need to tell you-"

"Actually, there's something I need to talk to both of you about," I heard a voice say. I turned around to see who it was. The man was there, the one who had caught me after I had been killed by Schlatt.

Grian's eyes went wide. "H-Hey Xisuma! C-Can I help you with anything?" He was sweating now. I didn't know who this 'Xisuma' character was, but if he was able to make Grian nervous he must be someone quite important.

"Actually Grian," Xisuma said sternly. "We need to talk about your friend here." He pointed at me, giving me a stare that was worthy of Dream himself.

Now I was sweating too, this guy was making me more scared than I was before. "U-Uhh, I'm sorry, but who exactly are you?" I asked, trying to sound polite and not as nervous as I was. I gave him a small smile, trying to look innocent.

"So you must be the newcomer, Wilbur, right?" He said. "You remember me, I'm XisumaVoid, admin of the Hermitcraft server."

Oh, so he was the dude who controlled this place. So he was basically the Dream of Hermitcraft!? If he was anything like Dream I was in big trouble.

"So, uh, what can I help you with?" I asked nervously.

"You are not supposed to be here, and you are breaking our home," he said grimly. "So I have to do the best thing for us, and ask you to leave."

I started panicking, where exactly was I supposed to go?! "Hold on sir," I said earnestly. "I think I need to explain exactly what my situation here is."

Xisuma looked at me. "Okay, I'm listening."

I took a deep breath, the amount of times I had explained what had happened was growing by the hour. "I'm dead, Xisuma. In my world I was killed and I mysteriously showed up here. Trust me, I want to leave as much as you want me to leave. But I have to know, why do you want me out of here all of a sudden?"

Xisuma looked extremely uncomfortable at the things I had said. I mean, all I had done was tell the truth, so I was in no wrong here. "I'm sorry to hear that," he said awkwardly. "But... have you felt the tremors?"

Grian spoke up. "I felt them, Xisuma. But aren't they from the moon? Also the lower gravity? I think you're getting confused."

"Well Grian," he replied exhaustedly. "It's come to my attention that there are two types of tremors. One type from your friend here and another from the moon growing bigger. The Moon ones shake the actual ground of the island and the ones from Wilbur seem to be in the server itself."

"Well then why can we only feel the moon's tremors?" I found myself asking. "Or is that just me, because I'm not from here."

Grian patted me on the back. "I can't feel them either, Wilbur. Do you have any clue as to why, Xisuma?"

Xisuma bit his lip, unsure. "I can't be completely sure," he said. "But I'd guess that it's because I'm the admin and therefore have a deeper connection to the server."

"And do you know why the moon is growing bigger?" Grian asked, inquiring even further.

Xisuma sighed at that question. "Honestly, I have no clue..."

Now I should probably tell him about Schlatt... better to get the blame off of me a bit. "So how long has each type of tremor been going on?" I asked.

Xisuma pondered for a moment. "The server tremors have been going on for about 5 days now, and the moon ones just started yesterday."

Grian looked confused. "Well Wilbur's only been here for about 3 days, how could the server tremors have started before he showed up?"

Here was the moment of truth, how would they react? "Well.." I started. "There may or may not be someone else from my world here..."

Xisuma straight up leaped to his feet in shock of the news. "WHAT!? DID YOU KNOW THIS GRIAN? WHY WAS THIS NOT THE FIRST THING YOU TOLD ME?!?!?!?!???!?!!!?!?!" He was screaming, obviously.

"Yeah, sorry," I said nonchalantly. "He was kind of my political enemy and also took over my country and exiled me."

"What's his name?!" Xisuma asked urgently.

"Jschlatt, but-"

Xisuma grabbed me and ender pearled out of the house. He soared into the air, looking around frantically.

I let out a sigh. I guess I was getting dragged along for this, too.

PearlescentMoon POV

I run into my base, crying. I really felt hurt now, and this was the last straw. Wilbur had betrayed me, and I wanted nothing to do with him.

Although something that had been in Wilbur's book had really stuck with me. That man... or pig, Technoblade. The way he was strong, and powerful, and always stood up for what he believed. And he overthrew governments! He was truly an inspiration.

You know, if Technoblade was able to rise from nothing to glory then what was stopping me from being just like him? I'm done being weak in the shadows. Grian is also a builder, Mumbo is a redstone person, Scar is a businessman, and I don't honestly know what Impulse is up to. What this village needs is a warrior, and I'm going to be the one to take up the mantle. Get ready Hermitcraft, I'm coming.
